As soon as Buzz, Mira, XR, and Booster headed for the front windows, they saw a screaming purple lightning bolt heading towards them, until Buzz slammed a lever forward, causing his ship to shift to the right and dodge the incoming ray.
"What was that?" asked Maxima.
"It's headed towards Star Command!" Mira exclaimed. The ray suddenly struck the space station, causing an electric shockwave on the outside of it.
"Well, the station looks okay." Booster remarked.
"Appearances can be deceiving..." LJ replied.
Buzz turned on the radio and spoke into the microphone. "Buzz Lightyear to Star Command, come in, Star Command!" he said. All he got was static. "I don't like this..."
"Me neither." Akito agreed.
"XR, report." Buzz declared.
"Sensors indicate 'spooky'," XR replied. "In fact, now I'm going to have to go with 'very spooky'."
"Where is everyone?" Booster wondered.
"Hard to say, Booster." Maximus spoke up.
The sliding doors to the control room open and the group soon came in and split up to search the room for survivors.
"What happened?" Mira asked worriedly. "I mean, there's no sign of a struggle."
"Hmm..." Buzz paused thoughtfully as he checked his wrist communicator. "My scanner is picking up some-"
"Lightyear! How good of you to join us." A familiar voice greeted.
Everyone took a fighting stance.
"Zurg?" Buzz questioned.
"In a manner of speaking," replied the evil emperor, as Buzz turned on the light.
In front of them was Commander Nebula, except with evil red eyes!
"OHH! That's spooky." XR x-claimed.
"You see, I used the Uni-Mind to link your fellow rangers..." explained Zurg.
"To my evil!" he said through the LGMs.
"And that's just the beginning. Soon, the entire Galactic Alliance will be under my control!" cackled Zurg Nebula.
"That would explain that creepy purple lightning..." LJ noted.
"You know, as a robot, I'm not susceptible to mind control, so this really isn't an issue for me." XR piped up.
"Uh, yeah," Mira rolled her eyes. "It'll be your issue when they rip you apart and sell you for scrap."
"Good point," XR replied in horror. "Anybody got a plan?"
"I'm afraid I'm stumped right now." Maximus said nervously.
"Here's one." Zurg Nebula smirked as he took out a mega cannon and shot it.
"Back to the ship, people!" Buzz called out as they all began to run.
"'People'?" XR asked. "That does include me, right?"
"Definitely including you!" Akito replied as he grabbed XR and ran with him.
Then they all ran down the hallway until they came to a halt. Commander Nebula, the LGMs, and space rangers had their weapons ready; Mira was about to shoot her laser at them, until Buzz lowered her arm.
"No, Mira! Although currently possessed by the most powerful evil in the universe, they're still our fellow rangers." he explained.
"Then how do we get past them?" asked Mira.
Booster suddenly got an idea. "Looks like we got us a high traffic area..."
He grabbed XR's hands and whipped him, causing his floor polishers to pop out from under his feet. XR looked around, then dropped his eyebrows.
"Alright, let's wax 'em big guy. Just push me-" XR began, before Booster started running, pushing him like a push-broom. "Not so fast, not so fast, NOT SO FAST!"
Booster charged into the space rangers and LGMs, knocking them over like bowling pins. "YAHOO!" he shouted.
"To the Launch Bay!" Buzz told the group, as they headed in, and Mira shot her laser at the doors to melt them together.
"Good work, people." Buzz commended.
"And robot?" asked XR.
"And robot." LJ added.
The group headed for Buzz's Star Cruiser and took off into space.
"Lightyear must not escape!" roared Zurg Nebula.
Meanwhile, on the ship...
"If Zurg has taken over every mind on Star Command, that means we're the only space rangers left." Mira muttered.
"What do we do?" asked Booster.
"We've got to take the battle to Zurg." declared Buzz.
"No need, he's bringing it to us!" XR exclaimed, pushing buttons.
LJ looked out the window camera, and went pale—since every last Star Command spacecraft was hellbent on ensuring Buzz and his crew would not survive. "And to think... This all started as a babysitting job..." he muttered.
"Whoever thought it would lead to a space adventure like this?" Zofia added. "At least the twins didn't get kidnapped."
"Oh! I got a lot of red lights blinking over here." Booster gasped as he watched a computer screen worriedly.
"We don't need those lights to tell us that we're in trouble." Maximus remarked.
The ship soon got hit and the room shook. Outside, red laser beams fired at Buzz's Star Cruiser. Buzz then tilted the control stick right, causing the ship to do a dodge roll.
"I had no idea a Star Cruiser could pull a move like that!" Mira smiled out of amazement.
"And neither did Zurg." Buzz told her.
The Star Cruiser took another hit, and then Zurg Nebula and a group of other possessed Space Rangers flew through orbit with their wings open.
"I'll make a note of it." Zurg Nebula smirked.
"We're surrounded!" Mira gasped as she looked out the window.
"You know, the guy's an evil genius, and the best he can come up with is a ventriloquist act," XR remarked as he pushed buttons. "What's next? Evil juggling?"
"Farewell, Lightyear!" Zurg Nebula laughed before he and the other Space Rangers flew away from the window's view.
"They're retreating." Estelle noted.
"But why?" Akito wondered.
"Obviously, my cosmic tongue cut them to the quick." XR smirked.
"I'm getting a funny energy reading." Booster warned as his computer screen turned all green.
"Mira, check the hull." Buzz commanded.
"Uh-oh... That must be the-" Maxima gasped from memory.
"We've got a bomb!" Mira soon called out.
"A BOMB!?" everyone exclaimed.
Buzz just smirked. "Perfect."
"At last. For too long, Lightyear has hounded me." smiled Zurg Nebula, as Buzz's Star Cruiser exploded in the distance. "...but no more!"
And so, they all cackled evilly as the ship pieces floated away, and soon left.
What they didn't know, however, is that Buzz and his crew boarded the Alpha-1 shortly before the explosion.
"Buzz Lightyear mission log, by launching the Alpha-1 at the precise moment of detonation, Zurg believes us to be destroyed," Buzz said to himself. "I feel I must pause for a moment of silence in honor of my ship..."
"Oh, please, Buzz! It was just a hunk of metal." XR scoffed.
"Okay, and you are?" asked Mira.
"In serious need of some personal space." XR replied, missing the point.
"Don't make me weld your mouth shut!" LJ snapped.
"So, Buzz, did Zurg win?" asked Booster.
"Not a chance, Booster," replied Buzz. "I've got Zurg right where I want him."
"Yeah, well, wherever he is, I bet he's got legroom." XR retorted.
"SHADDUP!" LJ snapped, knocking XR's head off his body.
"As long as Zurg thinks I'm dead he won't be looking for me and that gives me... The advantage." Buzz told the others in determination.
The others looked curious from that.
"Isn't he so cool?" Maximus gushed about Buzz.
"Heh," Akito chuckled. "Almost reminds me of me when I was a kid and I wanted to fight with Superman like Dad used to."
"You always were very imaginative like that." Estelle smirked playfully.
Meanwhile, briefly back at Zurg Tower, as if you didn't know that.
"I never thought it would be so easy." Agent Z said to his boss as they joined sides.
"What? The defeat of Star Command?" Zurg replied. "I always knew it was doable."
"No, not that," Agent Z clarified. "Lightyear."
"Ah, yes," Zurg replied softly as he watched his Hornets fly away. "My dearly departed foe. Somehow, evil won't be quite as much fun without Buzz Lightyear to kick around."
Meanwhile...
"Okay, Ranger Nova. Let's test that little theory of yours." Buzz told Mira.
"So, nobody's ever actually infiltrated Planet Z before?" asked XR.
"Never." Buzz said.
Booster looked nervous. "Oh, man..."
"Listen, a spacecraft this small won't be detected. I'm positive." Mira stated. "You know, I'm... I mean, I'm pretty... I mean, you know I'm not 100% positive."
"Somehow, that's not reassuring," LJ replied. "But it's the best we've got."
"Better than being more negative than positive." Zofia added.
A purple moon soon flew by Planet Z. A beam of lightning zapped it, opening up the moon as Seeker Drones fly out of it.
"The Auto-Defense Moon." Maximus remarked.
"Blast!" Buzz groaned. "The Seeker Drones are on patrol."
"Oh, this just gets better and better." XR droned sarcastically.
Buzz then steered the Alpha-1, dodging each drone, but he still felt cramped inside the ship.
"You okay, Buzz?" Zofia asked.
"I can do this," Buzz groaned a bit. "I just need a little elbow room!"
The Alpha-1 soon plunged nose-down into Planet Z, the Buzz pulled the control stick back up.
As Booster backed up, something pinged inside the Alpha-1. "Uh, guys? I think I sat on a button." he spoke up nervously.
"What button?" Mira asked.
"Let me see," XR replied before he removed his eye to take a look for himself for all of them in the tight space. "'Emergency Water Landing'."
"Oh, that wouldn't be so bad... IF WE WERE OVER WATER!" Mira replied angrily.
"What's gonna happen?" Booster asked.
"First the crystallic fusion core deactivates, and then-" Buzz began, only for it to get from bad to worse.
Outside the ship, two blue airbags inflated from the top of the ship's rear end, then two more airbags inflated from the bottom of the rear, then four more around the whole ship as the beacon blinked.
"Oh, man!" Booster cried out.
"Dang it." Akito and Estelle groaned from that.
"Ah, space slugs..." LJ remarked.
Buzz tried to deactivate the "Emergency Water Landing" button by pushing a button, but the airbags still blocked Buzz's view. "Blast!" he groaned.
The Hornets flew and marched everywhere on the planet as they landed, but none of the robots seemed to notice their landing. The landing took a bit of a while though, because of the airbags, which made them bounce around a bit.
"Rangers, condition status." Buzz said to his company.
The group groaned a bit from the rough landing while he seemed to be just fine.
"Excellent," Buzz grinned at that with a thumb's up. "Let's roll!"
"I'm ready, Buzz!" Maximus grinned back bravely.
"Alright, go time." LJ declared, cracking his back.
And so, they went as there were Hornets marching a long, nearly Wizard of Oz guard style around the Wicked Witch of the West's castle. Buzz and the others were hiding as the Hornets seemed to come to a stop.
"What's the Brain Guy's deal?" Estelle asked.
"That's a Brain Pod," Maxima told her. "They work for Zurg like the Hornets."
"Ohh... Okay." Estelle shrugged.
Some sort of alien figure came out, showing a visible brain while coming to the robots who had stopped marching which was the Brain Pod that Estelle saw.
"What now?" The Brain Pod asked the Hornets before seeing the broken-down spacecraft that was covered in an airbag. "That? That's not a spacecraft. It's obviously a weather balloon. Let's leave the brainwork to those with the brains, shall we?" he then told them before leaving with the Hornets, allowing the group to come out.
"All right, let's get this out of the way." Akito said as he went to get the airbag off of the spacecraft.
"The Alpha-1 is A-okay, but it asks that we do not do that again." said XR.
"The rest of you take the ship. Find the planets Zurg hasn't hit yet and supervise immediate evacuations." Buzz told the group.
"What about Zurg?" asked Mira.
"He's my problem." Buzz replied.
"News flash: he's everybody's problem." Mira stated.
"Mira, there's only one way for me to finish this mission. Alone." Buzz stated.
"Would you cut out this whole 'lone wolf' shtick?" LJ asked.
"I'm sorry, but it must be done, case closed." Buzz stated.
"But Buzz, that's against the rules!" Booster cried out. "In the Star Command Mission Manual, it clearly states that no ranger is to go into action without backup. I think it's Section Six, Subsection Delta."
"Actually, it's Section Six, Subsection Gamma." Buzz corrected as XR looked through the manual.
"He's right, big guy. Subsection Delta's the dress code," XR added. "Incidentally, why can't we have nose rings?" he then asked.
"Because nose rings are for punks, little mister!" Buzz replied sharply.
"Well if you can take on Zurg alone, I don't see why XR can't get a nose ring." Mira retorted.
"I was just asking a question," XR defended. "I'm NOT the one getting a nose ring."
"Don't make this about nose rings," Akito spoke up. "LJ's right though, Buzz. You shouldn't have to do this all alone."
"It's not just for MY sake," Buzz said. "It's for Warp."
LJ sighed, rolling his eyes. "Adults..."
"Then, who's getting a nose ring?" Booster asked before gasping and smirking. "Maybe that's why Buzz wants to ditch us!"
"I'm not getting a nose ring!" Buzz glared angrily. "Nobody's getting a nose ring! It's against the rules!"
"Which apparently don't apply to you." Akito smirked a bit.
"Of course they apply to me!" Buzz glared angrily. "The rules apply to everyone!"
"Great!" Mira then smirked. "Then you're not facing Zurg alone, and we'll be your back-up."
Maxima and Maximus laughed a little from that.
"Arrgh!" Buzz growled as he finally lost it. "I want all of you off this planet now! And that's an order."
"YES, SIR!" XR and Booster exclaimed, before they ran off.
"Honestly, you are so pigheaded..." LJ groused, shaking his head.
Buzz glanced at him.
"It's true," LJ glared. "I don't know why we should bother still helping you if that's gonna be your attitude."
"For all you know, Zurg could destroy you in an instant without some sort of back-up." Zofia added.
"You're too young to understand, anyway." Buzz retorted.
Mira just shot him a glare.
"Ranger Nova...?" asked Buzz.
"Yes... Sir." Mira saluted stubbornly before she turned and left.
"Fine, Mister Space Ranger," LJ scoffed. "Have fun getting killed by Zurg. Good riddance, ya mook! C'mon, guys, Mr. Light-beer doesn't need our help!"
Maxima and Maximus pouted.
"I have to agree," Akito replied. "Come on, kids, let's find a way to get back with the others and find a way back home for you."
"No skin off our nose." Zofia added.
LJ picked up the twins and left with the others.
"Thank you." Buzz replied firmly, before he continued on his way inside.
"We can't let him do this alone." Maximus frowned.
"Sorry, but he doesn't want our help," Zofia glared. "I don't see why we should stick around."
"Besides, if he gets himself captured, then it's his own fault," LJ replied. "Sometimes folks need to learn the hard way!"
The twins still pouted.
"Don't look at us like that," Zofia told them. "He had it coming."
"Are you guys ready to go?" Mira asked.
"Yes," Estelle replied. "Save for a couple of hesitant Junior Rangers who are probably bigger fans of Buzz than Booster."
"Well, we're going anyway," LJ replied as he buckled them all in. "Buzz Bigshot made his bed, now he can lie in it."
Booster and the young twins pouted from that.
"Cut that out!" Zofia scolded. "I'm sorry you guys are sad for leaving Buzz, but if that's what he wants, we shouldn't stop him."
"And I was hoping he'd give in before he told us to leave," Akito sighed. "I wish Ace Bunny were here to teach him that a team is like a family and no one has your back better than those who believe in you while believing in yourself isn't enough."
"You kids are very wise for your ages," Mira remarked. "I deeply respect that."
"Thank you, Mira; we appreciate that." LJ replied as the Alpha-1 took off into space.
Maxima and Maximus looked back and soon settled into the toddler seats they were given since they were both five after all.
"Let this be a very valuable lesson to you both." Estelle advised.
"Ooh! Sent packing like a bunch of first-year rookies!" Mira huffed angrily as she was still mad at Buzz.
"Which, technically we are." XR clarified.
"I don't know if anyone will be left untainted by Zurg's evil to receive this last chapter..." said a familiar voice on the radio.
"Did I sit on another button?" asked Booster.
"Shh. It's Buzz." Mira replied.
As the group listened in, Buzz continued his impassioned speech. "As I go to my impending doom... I pause to pay tribute to seven of the best and the brightest to ever come out of Star Command." he said solemnly.
"That's me and six others!" XR beamed, leaning in closer.
"I have taken a one-man stand in darkness and depravity, and... I have failed," Buzz continued as he was being filmed by the Grubs while Zurg was eating this up. "I was wrong."
"Keep rolling," The Evil Emperor grinned at the Grubs. "This is priceless."
"Perhaps, if I had taken a new partner, or two, or three, or more..." Buzz continued softly.
The other Space Rangers were happy that Buzz saw the error of his ways.
"Hot rockets! Did you hear that?" Booster grinned. "He needs us!"
"He actually admits he needs us!" Mira smiled before she turned the Alpha-1 around to go back to Planet Z.
"We're coming, Buzz!" Maxima, Maximus, and Booster cheered.
"I knew he'd turn around eventually," Akito said as he got ready. "All right, gang, let's get ready for a trip back to Planet Z."
"Well, let's go-go-go!" LJ exclaimed, as the ship was headed back to Planet Z.
"Buzz Lightyear. Over, and out." said Buzz as he sadly closed his wrist com.
Once that was done, the Hornets flew up and lifted Buzz to the middle of the Zurgatronic Megaray's direction.
"Ta-ta!" Zurg waved, before turning to face Brain Pod #13. "Target Buzz Lightyear."
"Okay-doke. You're the evil emperor," said #13 as he typed in a few keys and powered on the Uni-Mind. "MEGARAY MEGA-READY!"
The Grub saluted and typed in the coordinates, as the Mega-Ray started to power up.
"Do it." said Zurg.
A Brain Pod pushed the lever up, and the Uni-Mind powered up.
Suddenly, XR's hands grabbed Buzz, making him dodge the blast.
"Hot rockets!" Booster exclaimed.
"See, this is where metal arms come in handy," XR explained. "I don't wanna show off, but when you have to hold a heavy guy like..."
The Hornets shot a jolt of energy, and XR screamed as he got electrocuted, making him release Buzz. As Buzz and the Hornets fell from the sky, Buzz turned on his jetpack and flew away.
"What!?" Zurg roared. "Darkmatter, kill Lightyear!"
"I can never get over that." Maximus remarked to himself.
"Yeah... Buzz's most trusted partner and best friend was working with Zurg the whole time." Maxima added.
Warp soon turned on his jetpack and flew up to a Hornet. "Warp turns on his jetpack and flies up to a Hornet. "Where...?" he then wondered.
The Hornet then smacked Warp back to the ground, causing his wings to break off as he hit the ground.
"Have you blown a circuit?" Warp glared angrily at the corrupt Hornet.
Mira soon ghosted out of the Hornet she was possessing, almost Danny Phantom style which caused Warp to scream as it fell towards him, then Estelle came out and hit him with a Brain Blast mixed with the Hornet hitting Warp.
"Aww! Stung by your own Hornet, huh?" Mira taunted.
"That's gotta sting." Estelle added.
"BOOSTER!" XR soon cried out as he lost balance due to the electrocution.
"Booster, that way, now!" Akito called out.
Booster nodded, steering the Alpha-1 towards the ship as XR fell, but XR landed right on top. "Sorry!" he then told the robot.
"Close enough." Akito shrugged at that.
"Target the Planet of Widows and Orphans!" Zurg commanded his Brain Pods who typed in said coordinates as the Zurgatronic Mega Ray pointed up, but soon revealed Buzz right behind it.
"You fiend!" Buzz glared at that as he flew to the battery.
"There he is!" A Grub pointed out.
"I knew that would get him." Zurg smirked as he plotted that.
Mira was about to shoot with her laser with Estelle and Zofia's help, but some Grubs pounced right at them. Buzz soon flew towards the battery and started shooting, though nothing seemed to help him
"Your puny Star Command laser is pathetic," Zurg retorted as he held out his hand as a Grub gave him his Ion Blaster as seen in the second Toy Story story. "Let me show you a real weapon." he then blasted Buzz's jetpack, sending the Space Ranger falling to his doom.
Meanwhile, Warp soon regained consciousness and sat up with his hand on his head. "Oh, nice shot." he said with a groan.
"The key is to not pull the trigger, but squeeze it." Zurg grinned as he armed his Ion Cannon.
Suddenly, the Alpha-1 was seen flying to the screen.
"Janitor driving!" XR called out.
"Get off!" Estelle glared at the Grubs surrounding her, Zofia, and Mira, shooting with Brain Blasts.
The Grubs gasped at the Alpha-1 flying towards them, then the ship crash-landed onto the roof of Zurg Tower.
"Look out!" Akito called out.
The ship slid through the wires and circuits, two Grubs run and jump out of the way as it slid towards the girls. Then the ship came to a stop when it crashed into a computer, sending XR flying off the roof of the now damaged Alpha-1.
"Guys! Buzz is hit!" Zofia warned.
"Rookies." Warp scoffed and smirked as he changed his robot hand into an arm cannon.
"Hey, isn't that Buzz's dead partner?" Booster asked as he noticed Warp.
"Sorry about this, Booster." Akito said as he pushed the eject button which sent Booster flying.
"WHOA!" Booster yelped and yelled out before he soon fell on top of Warp and crushed him.
"Aren't you the janitor?" Warp asked him.
"Yep." Booster smirked.
"Oh, this is gonna be great for my rep!" Warp complained.
With Buzz's jetpack damaged, disabling his ability to fly, Buzz was thankfully latched onto the bottom of the Zurg logo. He climbed up and opened his wrist com.
"Team. Do you copy? I can't make it in time. It's up to you now," Buzz said, as Zurg's shadow approached, aiming his Ion Blaster. "Good Luck!"
As Buzz closed his wrist com, he jumped as Zurg was about to blast him. Then he noticed a piece of a wall falling towards him. Buzz fired on it with his laser, then got to his feet to approach Zurg as his shadow faded in.
"Give it up, Lightyear. I win." Zurg declared.
"Evil... Never... Wins." Buzz announced firmly.
Zurg fired his Ion Blaster again, and Buzz did a flip over Zurg. Zurg kept on shooting, but the bright lights around him dimmed down. "Huh?" asked the evil emperor.
Buzz stepped out of the shadows. "Afraid of the dark, Zurg?" he asked coolly.
Zurg was about to fire another blast, until a red laser blasted Zurg's Ion Blaster out of his hand.
Turns out Mira did it as she ghosted from the ceiling. "Not today, Zurg." she declared, as LJ struggled to hold the blaster in his hands.
Booster walked up to the Ion Ray, and crushed it with his hands as he smirked. As he dropped the broken blaster, Buzz walks in closer, aiming his arm at Zurg while his laser warmed up. Next, Mira dropped in with Akito and Estelle and aimed her arm at Zurg.
"Evil Emperor Zurg, by the authority of Star Command..." Mira began.
"Section Five, Subsection Zeta. That's the one about the evil emperor." Booster added.
XR grappled down from the ceiling and aimed one of his many guns at Zurg. "You are under arrest." he declared, as the twins aimed their lasers at Zurg.
"Like I said..." Buzz declared firmly. "Evil... Never... Wins."
Even the kids looked a bit menacing, especially Maxima and Maximus as they stood with the Space Rangers and their babysitters who all looked ready to fire away. There was soon a huge energy blast that shot right over their heads which made them look over. Zurg then made his exit once they were distracted by the blast.
"He's getting away!" Akito called out.
Mira tried to shoot after Zurg, but the villain was soon shown on a podium beside them that carried his ultimate weapon.
"You failed, Lightyear!" Zurg proclaimed once he was shown again. "With that final blast, I have enslaved every world in the Galactic Alliance!"
"NO!" Zofia yelped.
"Wherever you go in the universe, you will hear my voice, mocking you!" Zurg continued with a wicked laugh.
"All right, now FIRE!" Maximus soon suggested to the others.
"Doing it!" LJ declared, launching his pistol with the others.
Everyone then got their lasers ready and soon shot away. Zurg just laughed as he began to get away, though a laser hit him on his lower backside which made him yelp.
"Hm." The others narrowed their eyes from that.
"We're not done yet," Buzz glowered. "XR, Booster, Zofia, Estelle, twins, take Warp into custody! Mira, LJ, Akito, you're with me!" he then commanded.
Everybody then gave a salute at that.
"It's nothing personal, but you are rather young." Buzz told the Kindergarten twins.
"I just feel honored to be working with you, Mr. Lightyear!" Maximus beamed.
"Me too!" Maxima added.
"Alright, dudes, let's rock and ride!" LJ declared fiercely.
"Let's go!" Zofia added.
And at that, the groups split up from Buzz's command as they still had to stop Zurg. The Grubs were soon panicking from what was happening to them and them without a leader.
"Chain Reaction!" One Grub cried out. "It's gonna blow!"
"Get back here!" Warp called out as he was cuffed to a pole. "Release me! HEY! I'm Zurg's #1 agent!"
"Now there's something I wouldn't go boasting about." Booster glared sharply.
"You're grounded." Maxima and Maximus added in unison.
"Kids, come here, we're gonna go down together." Booster told them.
"Will do!" Maxima and Maximus replied as they climbed onto Booster's back with Zofia and Estelle as the soon-to-be-former janitor carried XR in one arm and Warp in the other.
They ran off the edge, as Booster's parachute shot out, slowing their descent.
"Don't be such a fraidy-cat!" Booster told Warp.
"Like we'd really just jump." XR added, as the twins giggled.
Meanwhile, Mira, Buzz, LJ, and Akito were over the corrupted Uni-Mind.
"Okay, Buzz? What are we actually going to do?" asked Mira.
"Solid question." LJ agreed.
"The Uni-Mind like was activated by a single touch," said Buzz, getting closer to the orb. "Maybe..." He reached out and touched it. "The power of Good is a strong thing, Mira."
"But not strong enough!" Mira replied, as it sent out a jolt.
"Blast!" Buzz spat. "Thanks to Zurg, the Uni-Mind is rotten, to the core!"
Mira smirked. "Then let's get you guys to the core!" she exclaimed, glowing.
"You're gonna ghost us?" LJ exclaimed. "Dunno whether to feel excited or terrified..."
"Guess this is what it's like to be Danny Phantom." Akito commented to himself.
Mira soon grabbed them to shove them through the orb, using her ghosting powers and soon was able to squeeze them in. The lights shot and sparked a bit which made Mira fly out a bit.
"Augh! GUYS!" Mira called out as her arm glowed a bit.
The Uni-Mind soon glowed bright and soon changed, looking a bit like the Planet Saturn with a ring around it.
"To infinity... AND BEYOND!" Buzz soon proclaimed from inside.
His voice soon echoed as the Uni-Mind made the universe restore itself back to normal and Star Command was no longer under Zurg's spell.
"Ah... Lightyear." Commander Nebula smiled knowingly as he knew what saved them that day.
"NO! MY PLAN!" Zurg roared. "MY GALAXY!"
"Uni-Mind wave impact in 3 seconds!" alerted a Grub.
"CURSE YOU, BUZZ LIGHTYEAR!" howled Zurg.
Mira cracked her knuckles. "I'm goin' in!" she declared, ghosting into the Uni-Mind.
XR, Booster, and the others gasped in surprise.
"She'll never make it." Warp remarked.
But he was wrong, since Mira flew out of the Uni-Mind with Buzz, LJ, and Akito in tow.
"Cowabunga!" LJ declared.
"Thanks, Mira." Buzz smiled at his new partner.
"Eh, anytime, sir." Mira replied.
"Yes, they made it!" Estelle cheered.
"Gratitudes!" Zofia added.
Warp looked very annoyed, especially with the others celebrating.
"You little guys better check out your Uni-Mind." Akito suggested to the LGMs.
The LGMs nodded as they began to do just that as things were wrapping up very nicely so far.
"I hope the Uni-Mind still works for you guys." Buzz said to the LGMs.
They continued to check before they looked very happy which told them all one thing. "We are one!"
"Whoo-hoo!" Akito and Estelle cheered at that.
"Our mind-link has been restored," said the first.
"All is as it was," said the other.
"To Infinity, and Beyond!" declared the third, though his colleagues gave him an odd glance.
Two Space Rangers took Warp off to prison, as the group waved to him.
"I can't believe we captured Agent Z." Mira remarked.
"I can't believe he turned out to be Buzz's dead partner who wasn't really dead!" Booster added.
"Yeah, that too," Mira shrugged.
"Amazing...!" exclaimed the LGMs as they surrounded XR.
"Easy, fellas," XR told them. "I know I exceeded all performance expectations."
"It's not that, XR." One LGM spoke up.
"You're almost human." Another LGM added.
"So many character flaws!" A third LGM beamed.
"At least he's not a Canon Sue then." Zofia remarked.
"Thank goodness." LJ sighed in relief.
"Okay, you know what?" XR groaned a bit. "Let's just say 'amazing' and leave it at that!"
"Well, Lightyear, you managed to save the universe again." Commander Nebula smiled proudly as he came by with a couple of other Space Rangers.
"It wasn't just me, sir; Zurg almost won and he would have," Buzz smiled back as he looked back. "If I hadn't had back-up."
"Everybody needs back-up." Mira replied.
"It's in the manual!" Booster added. "Section 6, Subsection Gamma!"
Buzz smiled. "Got the message, guys." he replied, before turning to Comm. Nebula.
"So who's your partner gonna be, son?" Comm. Nebula asked.
A big flashing neon arrow popped out of XR's chest and pointed to himself as Buzz turned back to the others.
"Don't worry, Commander," Buzz assured Comm. Nebula. "I've made my choice."
