AN:
Hello again! Today's chapter is kind of a double one. I thought it would make sense to put Wendy and Charle looking for their presents together, that's why this chapter is about them two.
Wendy didn't like to leave the things she had to do for the last day. So, she decided that she would get her present as soon as possible. Charle approved Wendy's idea and decided she would do the same.
They decided to go together to the market, hoping to find the perfect present there, They would have gone earlier, but they just haven't done it yet because Wendy decided to help with Christmas preparations at the guild.
"Hey, Charle, what do you want to see first?" Wendy asked with her usual excited voice.
"I'm still thinking... Why don't we take a look together?" Answered the cat. However, Wendy had a different idea.
"I think it's better if we look around alone. That way, we can look for something without spoiling for whom it is".
Very reluctantly, Charlie accepted the idea.
"Ok. But we meet here at lunchtime." After agreeing with the plan, both the exceed and the dragon slayer took their separate ways.
Charle had gotten Happy as her secret friend. When she saw his name, the first thought she had, was to give him a big fish. That certainly would make the blue exceed thrilled. But, right after, she thought about it and realized that he could get a fish anytime he wanted. She would be more original than that.
And now she was walking through the market, looking for something the blue exceed would enjoy, besides a big fish, which was a more difficult mission than she thought at first.
She saw some backpacks and thought that it would be a nice gift since Happy was always transporting his fish with him, but she decided that since she had time, to look for something else first. And with that, the whole morning had almost passed.
Charlie was still looking for something when a blast of wind caught her off guard. With the cold wind hitting her, Charle decided to button up her jacket. And that's when she realized something: She always wore clothes. Even Lily had some pants, but Happy, she had never seen him with any kind of clothes! And with that, she got an idea. She would give Happy something for him to wear! Something warm for the cold winter of Magnolia.
So, when she passed through a clothes stand, she started to look for something for Happy. And she found a really cute wool sweater. Now it was time to meet Wendy.
Around lunchtime, as planned, they were back again at the same place where they parted ways. Charle already had a bag in her hand, but wendy had nothing yet.
"Hi, Charle! I see you already found something. I'm hungry, let's eat something!" the blue-haired girl exclaimed. So, they went looking for somewhere to eat.
"It's really cold outside, Charle" Wendy said
"Yes, make sure you're warm enough and don't get a cold. I don't want to spend Christmas taking care of you." Charle warned her, as usual.
"I'm fine, really. You don't need to worry so much!"
The conversation continued, but soon enough they finished their meal because they had to find Wendy a present before it was too cold to stay outside. After they left the restaurant, Wendy started her shopping again. But she couldn't find something good for Lily.
She was wrong thinking it would be easy to find a present for the exceed. It was true that Charlie was an exceed to, but she was a girl, so nothing that Charle would like, Lily would too. Sure she had thought about a new sword, but Lily was fine with the one he had now and surely wouldn't need another. So, she had to think about anything else.
But when she was passing around a weapons stand, she had an idea. She would give Lily a bag for keeping his sword. It wasn't a new sword, but something useful for his one. Now, they both had a present, so it was time to wait for Christmas and enjoy the rest of the days without worrying about the presents anymore.
