On board King Rool's ship, King Rool was seen having a seat in his throne room while Waluigi walks over.
"So where are we exactly going, Rool?" Waluigi asked.
"A small retreat for now, we've got the triforce of courage in our possession," King Rool pointed out.
"And then?" Wario asked.
"We come back to get the other two pieces and continue our plans," King Rool answered.
"That Kirby creature wasn't able to land a single strike," Wolf said.
"I'm not too concerned about that kid, even if he did he wouldn't be able to get past this armor of mine. Speaking of which," King Rool pointed out before pulling up a screen to show an incomplete set of armor. Meanwhile on captain Falcon's ship, everyone was settled in and waiting to arrive at the next destination.
"Samus, where are you having us go?" Kirby asked.
"If we want to defeat King Rool, we'll need something to even the odds. I have a hideout not far from here that the captain is taking us to," The girl known as Samus explained.
"But..." Kirby said before Palutena interrupted.
"Kirby you'll get your chance at King Rool soon, but right now we're unprepared now that he has a piece of the triforce," Palutena pointed out before something pops up in her thoughts, "that's strange."
"What is it?" Pit asked.
"I'm sensing someone in distress, but what's strange about it is that it's coming from somewhere below us," Palutena explained.
"We really don't have a lot of time for stragglers right now. If what you say is true about King Rool and this Triforce that he has, then we don't have any time to lose," captain Falcon pointed out piloting the ship before something appears on radar approaching them at high speed, "what the?"
Out of nowhere a purple alien dragon lands on top of the ship taking everyone by surprise.
"Someone get up there and take care of that thing," Captain Falcon ordered before Palutena signaled Kirby and Pikachu to take care of it; the two then hop out of their seats and races outside to confront the monster before them that takes a swipe at Kirby which misses luckily. Pikachu quickly launches a small built of lighting that takes the monster by surprise forcing it to let go; thinking quick the creature then grabs him and flies off only to get zapped by him with his thunderbolt attack forcing him to let go. Pikachu then falls to the water below as Kirby jumps down after him.
"How far are we from shore?" Samus asked.
"2 minutes by swimming we'll have to turn around and come back for them once they're ashore," captain Falcon pointed out unaware that an unknown force was dragging Kirby and Pikachu down to the surface below. Later Kirby and Pikachu were seen being sucked in to what looked like a submerged castle. Upon being sucked into the main entrance that immediately closes after sucking the two in Kirby looks around to see that it was rather dark and little to no life could be seen so far.
"Pika," Pikachu squeaked.
"We need to get back to the others, let's see if there's a way out," Kirby said before him and Pikachu walked down the large corridor to see where they were; as they did they noticed that some spots of the place were sometimes flooded while others are barely touched, "what is this place?"
Kirby and Pikachu continued down the corridors wondering which way was which while feeling overwhelmed by the thought that they were being watched, little did they know, they were; eventually the two come across drawings on the wall that catch their attention.
"What's this?" Kirby asked himself looking at the drawings realizing that they were trying to tell him something; he saw what looked like a human figure with a hoodie on sitting on a throne, the next picture showed another one on some kind of robe with sleeves that covered his hands being what could only be described as banished from the castle in the drawing. The next drawing shown was one of a figure Kirby recognized, "Ganondorf? What was he doing here?"
Kirby continued to see that the two figures made a deal resulting in the figure in the hoodie being shunned and transformed into what looked like a short creature of some sort.
"Pikachu, I think I've discovered why King Rool's after the triforce," Kirby pointed out. Meanwhile captain Falcon's ship lands before everyone gets out and follows Samus to where she was going.
"So what are we looking for here anyway?" Captain Falcon asked.
"I'm looking for armor that'll help us out with fighting that King Rool guy, he stole the one I typically use, luckily I have a back up one hidden here before the demon king returned," Samus explained as she typed a code on a keypad before the door opens and everyone heads in.
"What would the crocodile want with a suit of armor?" Meta Knight asked.
"Not sure, but as soon as we get myself suited up we can find out," Samus pointed out walking through the hallways of the place.
"And Kirby?" Link asked.
"He'll catch up with us as soon as possible. As long as he isn't in trouble," Meta Knight said. Back with Kirby and Pikachu who continued walking down the corridors of the submerged castles when they come across a cavern with several amphibian like humanoid creatures frozen in ice.
"What is this?" Kirby asked himself before he noticed something sitting on a throne looking at him; he looks to see a short black and white creature with a artifact covering up half its face and orange long hair.
"Hello, travelers," the creature said having a female voice before standing up and floating over to Kirby and Pikachu who were in a fighting position, "you don't need to be so aggressive."
Kirby and Pikachu stood their ground wondering what it was talking to them, but then he remembered something.
"Wait, your the hooded figure from the drawings that was turned into whatever it is you are now, aren't you?" Kirby asked.
"Your very smart for a kid such as yourself. My name is Midna, princess of the twilight realm," the creature known as Midna said introducing herself.
"Did you do this?" Kirby asked.
"No, they were like this when I got locked down here," Midna pointed out.
"Pika?" Pikachu squeaked noticing something approaching.
"Then what did this?" Kirby asked not realizing something when Pikachu got his attention; the three look to see a doorway blocked up by ice that immediately gets destroyed by a giant ice crystal shaped creature with several yellow eyes on his face.
"That's what did all this," Midna answered as the creature started walking towards them, Kirby and Pikachu got ready for a fight, but Midna signaled them to follow her; they hesitated at first, but gave in and followed her to where they were going. Back with Captain Falcon and everyone else who were following Samus who comes to a security room and looks to see a screen showing a set of futuristic armor.
"There it is, it shouldn't be far," Samus pointed out.
"What's the fastest route?" Fox asked.
"Looks like there's a hallway that cuts through the security halls, but we need to disable some defenses first," Slippy pointed out looking through the cameras.
"Looks like if we can hit the locks on each side, we can get through, but it's heavily guarded," Peppy said watching the cameras that were showing the room were filled with robotic guards.
"Shouldn't be a problem," Captain Falcon pointed out.
"Right, we'll spit into two groups, Pit, Fox, Falco and Diddy Kong will take the east lock. Krystal, Donkey Kong, Linkey Kong and Tiny Kong will hit the west lock. Everyone else head for the hallway and wait for the signal," Palutena said.
"Let's get this done," Samus said before everyone ran off to their assignment. Meanwhile Kirby, Pikachu and Midna seals the one way door leading to the hidden room before looking around.
"What is this place?" Kirby asked.
"All I was told was that the creatures that were frozen are called Zoras. From there nothing else. But right now get some rest while I think of a plan," Midna said before yawning and laying down on the highest point of the room. Back with Pit's team who were ready to break into the east part of the facility.
"On my mark, three... two... one... now!," Pit said after readying a arrow shot. Upon saying now him, Fox and Falco break into the area and started unloading on the robots who tried to attack them but were unsuccessful then a rather large robotic guard walks up only to get shot several times by Diddy Kong causing it to shut down.
"Good team work, everyone," Fox said putting away his pistol. Before the four ran towards the eastern lock destroying any robots and turrets in sight, upon getting close they were blocked by a robotic Gorilla; thinking quickly the two start shooting at it as fast as they could only to realize that the armor was too thick.
"Well this can't be good," Falco pointed out before the gorilla robot tries to smash them, but they all get out of the way before Diddy Kong tries to shoot it with his pistols, but even the exploding peanuts had no effect.
"What is this thing?" Pit asked before Fox dodged an attack while Slippy on the camera sees something on the back of the robot's neck.
"I think I know how to beat this thing," Slippy pointed out.
"Go on," Fox said.
"There's a rather large bump on the back of its neck, if we can hit that, there's a small possibility that it'll go down," Slippy pointed out.
"Okay, did everyone else get that?" Fox asked.
"Yeah we got it," Krystal pointed out before Diddy Kong jumped up a large pillar to get a clear shot at the robots neck while Falco kept it distracted along with Fox and Pit; upon reaching the top, He wrapped his tail around it before aiming his pistols at the bump on its neck. The robotic gorilla pins Fox down and gets ready to smash his head before several peanuts explode on the bump causing it to realize its weak spot was exposed forcing him to let go of Fox to protect it.
"Keep the pressure on!" Falco called out before him and Fox rush towards the robot while Pit flew up towards the back of the neck aiming an arrow at it waiting for a clear shot while they kept it distracted. Eventually, Pit shoots the arrow and it goes straight through the robotic beast causing it to shut down; Fox and Falco then run up and shut down the lock. Meanwhile Krystal and her team just got finished with the robots on their end before shutting down the lock; everyone then regroups to the shortcut as it opens.
"Once we have the armor, we'll head for King Rool and stop him," Samus pointed out before they all rush down the hall towards her intended destination. Back with Kirby who was thinking real hard on how to defeat the creature that froze everything while Pikachu and Midna rested, he then noticed a light at the other end of the room and walks towards it; Pikachu wakes up and noticed him walking off and decides to follow him. Kirby reaches the source of the light to see another amphibian humanoid looking creature that was called a Zora and was female, but was not frozen, she was sitting there humming to herself when she noticed Kirby at the corner of her eye.
"Oh, hi there," The creature said after looking in Kirby's direction, "don't be shy, come here."
Kirby hesitated at first but then walked up in curiosity.
"I can tell your not from around here are you?" The creature asked.
"No, I just found this place when we were attacked," Kirby pointed out.
"Oh, well I'm sorry to hear that," the Zora said, "tell me, what's your name?"
"Kirby," Kirby answered.
"Well, pleased to meet you, Kirby, I'm Ruto, princess of the Zoras," Ruto pointed out before Pikachu walked up, "a Pokémon? I've heard of these things when the smash universe came to formation, but never seen one."
Ruto started to stroke Pikachu's hair causing him to let out a content squeak them Midna floated in.
"There you two are, you had me thinking that you went to fight that ice creature, but I'm glad you didn't," Midna said.
"I don't see any possible way to defeat it," Ruto pointed out as Kirby looked at the torch on the other side of the small room.
"And you are?" Midna asked.
"I'm Ruto, princess of the..." Ruto answered before she hears a sucking noise; she looks to see a large light consume Kirby. Seconds later the light fades away revealing Kirby with hair made of fire on top of his head.
"Well this is new," Midna pointed out.
"It's an ability that I've had," Kirby said.
"We may have a chance then," Ruto pointed out.
"Pika," Pikachu squeaked agreeing.
"Well then let's head back and defeat that ice creature," Kirby said before they all head back to confront the ice creature. Back with captain Falcon and the rest of the team who were getting close to Samus' back up armor that was near by unaware that security bots were pursuing them until Palutena senses them.
"We're being followed!" Palutena pointed out.
"Well we can't stop now," Fox said.
"I'll need a minute to suit up, once we reach the location, everyone will need to hold them off," Samus pointed out as they kept running towards their destination. Back with Kirby, Pikachu, Midna and Ruto who are back in the throne room getting the unknown ice monster's attention; eventually it arrives and begins attacking them.
Kirby Quickly shooting fire out of his mouth as the ice monster shot a bean of ice at him, the beams collide turning into a struggle against one another; after a minute of nothing happening, Midna whacked the monster with her morphing hair causing it to tumble over and allowing Kirby to win the beam struggle.
"Kirby finish it!" Midna called out before Ruto realized something and grabs Kirby.
"Wait, I have a feeling that creature isn't doing this internationally," Ruto pointed out as she spots a rather large looking tick looking bug attached to its back that turns invisible.
"Whatever that was, it's controlling the creature," Kirby said realizing what's going on.
"Keep it Busy, Kirby, I have an idea," Ruto said before The ice monster got back up and engaged Kirby by trying to punch him, but he gets out of the way in time before Pikachu dashed right into it; Midna held it down while Ruto got on top of it and swiped the now visible bug off the creature. After doing so, the creature got up and looks at them all confused.
"Pika," Pikachu squeaked before the ice creature turned around to see the bug getting up, but it quickly turns it into ice before Kirby turns into a stone slab and smashed it into pieces; he then turns back to normal and regroups with everyone in the room.
"Excellent work Kirby," Ruto Commented, "not let's thaw my people out."
Back with captain Falcon and everyone else who were extremely close to being overrun by security robots, but just as they almost won a mass explosion wipes them all out before Samus in one of her power suits walks out.
"Sorry to keep everyone waiting," Samus apologized before shooting multiple enemies with her wrist cannon clearing the way for everyone to get moving, "let's get moving."
Back with Kirby and his team who just got done thawing out the last of the Zoras.
"Kirby, for someone your age you certainly are a very brave person, and because of that you have my respect, if there's any way I can repay you, please come back and let us know," Ruto pointed out.
"Thanks, but what we're after might be a bit beyond your point of help," Kirby pointed out.
"And what might that be?" Ruto asked.
"We're here to stop King K Rool from getting the triforce," Kirby pointed out.
"King K Rool? I believe you have a a bit of a journey ahead of you if you want to stop him," Ruto pointed out.
"I know, I saw what was drawn on the wall earlier and now I realized what he's after, he could be trying to bring the demon king Ganondorf back," Kirby assumed.
"Not quite, Kirby," Midna said making Kirby confused.
"Then what is he after?" Kirby asked.
"You see this isn't really me current form, I was cursed to stay in this form by one of his servants, a tyrannical person named Zant, who was a people of mine who wanted the throne for himself. The demon king gave him incredible power, enough to not only topple my kingdom but to turn me into this thing," Midna explained.
"And if he succeeds, we could almost be looking at a third coming of the demon king the only difference is that he would plunge this world into twilight if I'm not mistaken," Ruto said.
"Yes," Midna said.
"Well we better head back for the others and warn them," Kirby pointed out before Ruto stopped him.
"Yes you do, but first my people need to stop the curse that's preventing anyone from getting out, follow me," Ruto said. Back with Samus and everyone who were seen heading for the exit, but then the same purple alien dragon from earlier lands in their way.
Looks like it's not gonna let us pass," Samus pointed out.
"Keep it distracted," Palutena said before she backs away while everyone else runs towards the creature; seeing it's outnumbered by quite a bit the dragon looks at Palutena and flies towards her, but Chunky Kong grabbed it and throws it to the ground before Meta Knight falls towards it with his sword aimed right at the dragon's chest; it quickly rolled out of the way before before whacking the Warrior. Samus, Fox and Falco started to shoot at the creature seconds after it whacked Meta Knight away which got its attention; he rushes over to attack them, but gets grabbed by Chunky Kong who then tosses him into a wall just in time for Palutena to unleash her ultimate attack. Unable to get out, The alien dragon watched helplessly as the gigantic beam of energy made its way towards him and hit him with brutal force. By the time the beam went away it was left crippled in a pile of rubble.
"Nice," Samus said.
"We waisted enough time as it is with this dragon, let's get out of here," Captain falcon said before they all moved out before alien drawn's and emerged from the rubble and formed into a fist. Outside of the facility an unknown vortex like object appears in the sky before it shoots out confetti pieces to the ground which form into Pikachu, Kirby and Midna.
"Kirby, Pikachu, glad to see you two are okay," Palutena pointed out, "who's this with you?"
"This is Midna she was trapped in the Zora castle like we were," Kirby pointed out.
"So you're the distress call I picked up," Palutena pointed out.
"Yes, and I need to tell you what's really going on," Midna pointed out.
"You can explain on the ship, let's go!" Captain Falcon pointed out. Meanwhile at an unknown location, in a dark throne room a mouth belonging to an unknown person smiled as the unknown figure watched king Rool get closer to his objective.
