I don't own The Breakfast Club
Enjoy!
Aggressive, Masculine, Sport-o, Egotistical, Bully, Strong
All attributes to being a jock and not to mention an athlete that was always winning. In his head, Andrew Clark needed to be the best. He just had to be the best for his father. However, trying to aim for the best had landed him in Saturday detention because of a misdeed that he did to another fellow student, Larry Lester. Goosebumps rose to his arms whenever he replayed that fateful day. He had done it to show others how tough he was, just like he was on the wrestling team. However, the outcome of his actions led to the point where his fellow classmate got terribly injured. When he had done it, he heard everyone cheering him for doing so. Showing the weak who was the strongest and cutting loose like his father had done before him. At that moment, he hadn't stopped to think about his classmate's feelings, let alone the stress that his parents were probably going through because of Andrew's actions.
Andrew! You've got to be number one! I won't tolerate any losers in this family! Your intensity is for shit! Win! Win! Win! His father had said to him one day, only to make Andrew feel worse than he already did. He didn't feel like a winner after doing what he did to Larry. Yet, why didn't he stop himself before he did it?
I gotta do this! he had motivated himself. I gotta show my old man that I can loosen up, be winner, and not tolerate any losers! At that time, Larry was the weak one and the loser, but now that Andrew thought about it, it was not Larry who was the loser. It was him and he knew it. All that pressure that had been put upon him. The dares that his classmates threw at him and the disapproval of his father, it had driven Andrew to do something that he shouldn't have even dreamed of doing.
"You know, sometimes I wish my knee would give. I wouldn't be able to wrestle anymore and he could forget all about me." He had confessed to his classmates during Saturday detention. Perhaps being forgotten by his father also meant disappointment, but no disappointment was worth it after what he had done to Larry. After being in detention and revealing the reason as to why he was there and speaking to his peers, he didn't care anymore what his father thought of him.
I would rather have support than pressure he thought to himself as he chocked back on his tears. He hated looking weak in the eyes of classmates that before he would never consider being in the same room with. There was something that he sensed in them as they were gathered in a circle at the library. Upon his confession, no one uttered a word but they were silent as they took in everything that he said. He couldn't interpret what they were thinking, but the silence was enough to make him believe that he was a horrible person. Deep down, he knew that he was and it was going to take quite the long time for him to rectify what he had done to Larry. Let alone if Larry could ever forgive him.
That day, he had not won. He had lost.
