Chapter 10
Bloom slowly opens her eyes. Bloom finds herself in a dimly lit room. Looking around, she sees an extravagant room with a queen sized bed that she's lying on. The room is supported by a royal purple theme with the bed sheets, walls, and curtains all the same shade of purple. Looking out the window Bloom sees that it is dark outside. Bloom moves off of the bed and notices that she is now wearing a silk nightie that matches the room.
"Where am I?" Bloom asks herself, not noticing that she actually spoke.
"You're in your new room dear." Bloom is startled by the sudden voice. She notices sudden movement by the window. Bloom turns towards the source of the mysterious, but somewhat familiar, voice. As the figure moves closer to Bloom, the person's face is revealed by the light of the nearby lamp.
"Serana?" Bloom asks cautiously.
"Yes Bloom, it's me. The ritual worked. I am reborn thanks to you." Serana answers as she moves closer to Bloom and hugs the redhead carefully. Bloom assumes that Serana is just being careful with her vampiric strength.
"I don't remember any of it." Bloom said, somewhat worried.
"Shortly after the ritual was completed, you feinted. As I was trying to rouse you several figures smoked into the chamber. I immediately sensed they were vampires, one of which was my trusted advisor Vannik. He informed me that a group of our best wizards created a pocket realm in which they hid from the slaughter of our race. In secrecy they thrived and built this great castle and awaited my return." Serana explained as she escorted Bloom to the window. Bloom looked out to see that she was in a castle on a single floating island in a vast void. From the castle grounds a single thin path lead to a swirling portal.
"That portal is the only way in and out of the realm. Any intruders are spotted immediately as they progress further in." Serana said.
"Where does the portal lead?" Bloom asked.
"The other end of the portal rotates through realms of the magical dimension so that a vampire leaving will always enter a realm shortly after nightfall. There is a console by the portal that will tell you where you are going." Serana answered.
"That's amazing." Bloom said in awe. "It is a wonderful feat." Serana replied.
Bloom could tell that something was bothering the queen. "What's wrong?" Serana sighed heavily. "Bloom, did you know you are with child?"
"What?" Bloom asked, completely surprised.
"When a woman who is with child is turned, they immediately feed on the growing life in them. When the doctors here were looking at you after you fainted found that the children inside you are still developing. This is a first in all recorded history, but the doctors are confident that the children will be born without complication." Serana said.
"Children? As in more than one?" Bloom asks, still hung up on the idea that she's pregnant.
"You're carrying twins." Serana says as she gently strokes Bloom's back.
"I don't believe it. I'm pregnant. They must be Sky's children." Bloom said gleefully.
"There is more to this that is upsetting Bloom." Serana said ominously. "The council that has ruled this New Vampira, specifically it's head who is my uncle Haron, is reluctant to release rule to me unless I name an heir to succeed me if I am lost again. I find no one more worthy of the role than you and your children."
"Thank you Serana." Bloom said as she hugged Serana.
"This means that you and your children will gain the ability to use the full power the Royal Vampires. Vamperum, a source of power that rivals the Dragon Fire and the Water Stars themselves." Serana continues.
"Wait, what will happen when I, and my unborn children, inherit this power? That much raw power in one person is impossible." Bloom asks in fear for her, and her childrens', lives.
"This is what worries me. The ceremony to make you the official heir will be in one week. You are the only active user of the Dragon Fire. If no other source uses the power before you inherit control of the Vamperum, you will surely implode from the battling powers. Haron will use your death to keep rule for himself." Serana explained.
The two women stood in thought for a few minutes until Bloom spoke up. "I have an idea."
"What is it?" Serana asked.
"You said that if more Dragon Fire users became active I will survive the inheritance?" Bloom asked.
"With the Dragon Fire trying to re-balance a sudden drain on it's reserves, then there should be no issues." Serana explained, confirming Bloom's idea.
"Then I have the solution. We're going to free Sparxs and my parents from Obsidian." Bloom stated, slightly filled with pride.
"Yes, that will work. The Planet of The Dragon Fire reawakening will keep the power out of balance long enough. Now how will we rescue your parents?" Serana asked.
"I've been looking into this since the fighting with Baltor began this year. Thanks to my ethereal sister Daphne, I know to look for the hidden library on Sparx. In the library is the Book of Fates, which should be able to tell me how to free them." Bloom explained.
"That's a good of place as any to start. Get ready. Outside your room to the right is a stairwell. Follow it all the way down, and the main gate to the palace will be ahead on the left. I'll meet you there." Serana said as she left Bloom's room.
'I can't wait to rescue my parents.' Bloom thought as she worked on changing and preparing for her adventure.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Curve ball! Bloom succeeded in reviving Queen Serana to learn she's pregnant with Sky's children. The plot here for a little bit will resemble the Winx movie where Bloom saves her parents from the Ancestral Witches, but how different will it be when it is just Bloom and Serana? Hopefully this writing spree will continue and you'll find out soon! Thanks everyone for your patience with my sporadic writing.
