Chapter 26- Part 2
A week had gone by. The number of The Order members were reducing every day; burial ceremonies and were taken place frequently. Peter was nowhere to be seen; the gang was worried and anxious about him.
It was Halloween afternoon when they threw a party at Godric's Hollow. The house was covered with decorations and dolls and statues of witches, pumpkins and other Halloween features.
James brought out Harry's flying broom toy. "We have to teach him!"
Sirius nodded "I taught Adam secretly until Bo caught us. She went completely mental!"
"That's because he could've died!" They heard Bo yell from the kitchen.
"Typical Sirius." Remus chuckled.
Harry and Neville babbled happily with Adam, who was protective of them. "He's so much like his father." Genevieve said, in awe of Adam.
She and Remus sat in the living room, watching over the kids while Lily and Bo were in the kitchen.
Alice stated "You're right. I think he's going to turn out like him too."
Remus raised his eyebrow "What do you mean?"
Alice answered "Well, I don't mean the animagus part; Sirius and Bo wouldn't let that happen, but I think Adam will have his personality."
Neville walked a few steps away from them and fell straight on his bottom. He cried a little, and Adam walked confidently to him, with Alice by their side. She sat down and calmed him down. Frank rushed in from the dining room "Is he alright?"
Alice reassured him "Yes, he was trying to walk a little and he fell." Frank chuckled lightly. Adam looked at Neville and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Aww!" Alice and Genevieve cooed.
"What happened?" Bo and Lily walked out of the kitchen. Alice told them what happened. Lily's smile was from ear to ear and Bo was ecstatic "That's my boy!" She kissed Adam's crown. Bo rushed to tell Sirius what happened.
"Our Adam, a little softie!" He laughed heartily and hugged his wife.
"He got that from you two, without a doubt." James smiled.
Peter Pettigrew, who was in his rat form, ran as quick as his little feet could. 'I must go to him, I must'. He arrived at a deserted old cabin in the middle of a forest. Once he arrived at the door, he transformed to his human form and knocked on the door. "Come in, Wormtail." A high cold voice addressed the chubby man. He opened the door to reveal a ghastly white figure with blood red slits for eyes, looking at him. "What is it?" Voldemort inquired impatiently.
Peter stuttered "Well, um, my Lord, there is something I wish to tell you." He gasped and took a step back when he saw Voldemort's huge snake slithering to him. Nagini, the snake, rose up to her master's waist. He petted her as he waited for Peter to go on.
"The Potters are in hiding. They put me as their Secret Keeper." Voldemort was curious.
"Go on. Where are they?" Peter was silent; he, who was James' close friend throughout school, would reveal to the enemy his whereabouts and thus betray him. "Godric's Hollow."
Lily and James Potter would spend their last minutes with Harry; loving, kissing, cherishing him. They had never expected these minutes to be their last minutes with their son.
They were in the living room, reading him a bedtime story, when they heard a rustle from the hall. Lily looked at James worriedly "I'll go see what it is." Lily smiled at him reassuringly and went on reading to Harry. James left to check. James slowly went closer to the hall. It was pitch dark, but unfortunately he forgot his wand in the living room; he showed his son a few tricks. All of a sudden, he stopped; he saw blood red eyes glaring at him.
The lights turned on to reveal Lord Voldemort. Lily saw the lights were on and she ran closer to the hall and screamed. James turned to her and said "Lily, take Harry and go! It's him! Run! I'll hold him off!" Lily complied and grabbed Harry quickly and ran. James faced Voldemort. He didn't have time to run and get his wand; it was hopeless. 'I just hope Lily and Harry are safe.' And with that thought, James Potter was dead.
Lily, holding Harry in her arms, ran as fast as she could to his bedroom. Voldemort was quickly after her. She shielded her son from him and glared at him. "Stand aside, silly girl!" He hissed at her. She refused. He murdered Lily Potter in cold blood, leaving Harry parentless. Harry was on the floor, crying by his mother's body. Voldemort waved his wand at Harry and intended to kill him, but the curse rebounded. And thus, Voldemort, the darkest wizard of all time, was vulnerable and gone.
Augusta, Frank's mother, came to visit her family. She was a strict woman, but when it came to her grandson, she showed affection. Augusta held Neville and told him silly things to make him laugh. They had a wonderful time together, when all of a sudden, their entrance door was shaking violently. Frank and Alice pulled out their wands and urged Augusta to apparate with Neville. They gave Neville kisses and Augusta quickly left before the door was broken down to reveal Death Eaters.
A haggard witch with black curly hair and wide eyes snarled at them "You are a disgrace to Purebloods! Associating with filth!" Her husband, Rodolphus, spat on the floor angrily. A younger follower, whom Alice recognized as Barty Crouch's son, declared "Where's the Dark Lord?"
Frank sneered at them "How dare you break into our house?"
Bellatrix Lestrange snickered at the furious couple and said "You know where he is! You know he killed your Potter friends."
Alice and Frank were shocked; their friends were killed brutally. Their thoughts quickly turned to Harry: where is he now? Is someone taking care of him?
Alice scrunched her nose in disgust and exclaimed "We didn't know he attacked Lily and James!" Frank then retorted venomously "We'd rather be tortured than help you find your precious lord!"
Bellatrix had a gruesome epiphany; her eyes glinted with wickedness. She looked at Rodolphus, who smirked and said "As you wish." "Crucio!" He and his wife cursed Alice and Frank, causing them to shriek and squirm in pain.
Sirius, who had enough with Peter's lies, left Bo and Adam to check up on him. He broke down Peter's front door and found the house empty. 'Where's that asshole?' He was determined than ever to figure out his whereabouts. Recently, he and Remus suspected him following Voldemort. They had once caught him talking to Death eaters, but didn't want to alarm James and Lily. 'Lily! James! Harry!' He quickly disapparated to Godric's Hollow.
Arriving there, he saw the house ruined. He saw his best friend's body lying on the floor. "James!" Sirius cried in grief. He kneeled down to James and wept. "No, no!" He cried harder. He was devastated, but he wanted to know where Harry and Lily are. He left James and went up the white staircase. Walking to Harry's room, Lily's body was sprawled on the floor. Sirius shook his head and tears were threatening to spill over. He heard Harry cry and he walked over to him "Hey, little Prongs." He took him in his arms and soothed him. He knew he had to inform someone. He apparated with Harry to his house.
Sirius put Harry to sleep and broke the news to Bo. She screamed and cried. She pounded on Sirius' chest in anger. "I knew it! I knew it was going to happen! That bastard! I hope Voldemort is dead!" Bo shouted and bawled. Genevieve and Remus arrived as soon as they heard. They grieved; they were upset, angry, and vindictive. Sirius was quiet, until he muttered "I'm going to kill Peter."
Sirius went back to Godric's Hollow, and this time he was in for a surprise: Peter Pettigrew was nearby the house. Sirius looked at him in fury; he was ready to finish him. "Pettigrew! I'm going to kill you!"
Peter turned around and yelled in fright something that would change history: "You killed the Potters! You betrayed them!" and with that, Peter was gone. What was left was his finger. Unfortunately, Sirius Black was arrested and sentenced without trial to Azkaban.
Harry James Potter was sent to Lily' sister, Petunia, to live with her. Bo, who insisted on taking Harry as her own, was "unqualified" and only real family could take care of him. Bo sobbed and exclaimed "Rubbish! Who are they to tell me about real family! Petunia is the devil!" Genevieve rubbed her back in comfort. There was a knock on the door and Remus opened it to reveal Ministry officials.
They entered and asked "Mrs. Black?" Bo looked at to see two gentlemen looking at her. "Yes?"
"Your husband was caught in the scene of a crime and is imprisoned."
Bo's eyes widened "Oh no." She said quietly.
After a slight pause, she cried "It's not him; you've got to believe me!" They didn't, to her misfortune.
"Then, I'm going with you." She firmly said. Before the officials could say anything, she changed to a simple blue dress and to her comfort, Remus and Genevieve watched over Adam while Bo went with the officials to Azkaban.
Arriving to the wizard prison, Bo felt weak and odd. The guards of the prison were Dementors, dark hooded figures which suck happiness out of people, leaving them with upsetting memories. A Dementor came close to her, and one of the officials kept it away with a Patronus charm. Bo gave a curt nod of gratitude and went after the men. They took her to a room with florescent lights a long table with a glass board between the prisoner and visitor and chairs. "Sit here, your husband will be here shortly."
She sat on the first chair in the row and waited. 'Our lives have changed in an instant. This night was pure hell; we lost James and Lily, Alice and Frank and Sirius. I can't raise two children on my own. I need my husband to be by my side', Bo sniffed and wiped small tears from her eyes.
He was led by Ministry representatives to see his wife. When he reached the visiting room, he saw her. 'What is she doing here? Is Adam alright? She shouldn't have come'. The men led him to stand in front of the glass, facing her. As soon as he sat down, the men left them to be alone.
He glanced at her swollen stomach and looked into her sad blue eyes. She gazed in his gray eyes and her eyes wandered off to look at his face; hollow, dark, enraged. Their best friends were murdered and tortured that night. She noticed on the glass a few holes.
She came closer to the holes and said "Hey." He came closer to the glass.
"I'm ruined, Bo. Things will never be the same. We lose our friends because of me. I shouldn't have talked James and Lily into trusting Peter. It's my fault they're dead. It's my fault Harry and Neville are alone." Sirius cried.
Bo shook her head "No, it isn't Sirius! It's that slimeball Peter's fault! He betrayed James and Lily."
There was a slight pause. "What am I going to do without you? The damn Ministry! They took you away without a trial! What will I say to Genevieve and Remus? I can't go on like this." Bo pounded on the thick glass in anger.
Sirius pained to see her crashing down, but he felt the same way; he was destined to be locked up for life. He doesn't want her to suffer because of him. He wants her to raise their children in happiness and dignity. "I want you to listen to me carefully, Bo. I want you to leave and never look back at this place. Don't wait for me; you know I will never get out. I love you and the children very much. Send Gen and Remus my love."
Bo scoffed "Don't be ridiculous! I'll come and visit-"
"No you won't. This place is horrible for anyone who enters. I don't want you or the kids to get hurt. You mean the world to me, Bo, but I can't see you suffer." Sirius cut her off.
Bo let out a cry of anger. "You can't tell me what to do, Sirius! I love you! I'll come whether you like it or not." Sirius was angry; she didn't seem to understand the sinister aspect of Azkaban. All she cared about was to see him and bring the kids to visit him. He knew that wasn't an option. He had a desperate idea which he would regret now, but would be thankful for later. "I'll erase my memory."
Bo's eyes widened; she couldn't believe the words coming out from her husband's mouth. "How can you say that? And forget everything we've been through? Forget everyone?" She said in a voice a little above a whisper. She was clearly trying to mask her anger.
Sirius sighed and said calmly "If that's what it takes to save my family and friends." Bo shook her head "You wouldn't do it."
Sirius licked his lips and shouted "Guard!" while looking sternly at his wife dead in the eye. Tears were beginning to form in her eyes. She abruptly got up from her seat and left the visiting room. Sirius wiped down a tear from his cheek when one of the Ministry officials entered "What, Black?"
Sirius got up from his seat and shook his head "Never mind." And with that, Sirius Black was escorted to his cell.
During her last months of pregnancy, Bo was in a deep depression. She refused to believe that Sirius erased his memory, but a small part of her actually believed it.
After two weeks, Bo gave birth to Scarlett Grace Black was born. Genevieve, Remus and Alan came to visit her. Little Scarlett opened her eyes to reveal crystal blue eyes. "Well, she's going to turn out to be like you." Alan said to her. Adam squirmed in Alan's arms.
"I think he wants to say hello to his little sister." Bo smiled and nodded. He lowered Adam to Bo's bed and sat him down on it.
"Mama!" Adam cheered. "This is Scarlett, honey. Your sister, and only yours." Adam took a look at the bundle of joy and said "My."
