The ensuing fight no less brutal for all it was of a slower pace than the previous one. Daniel was countering each of Kreese's attacks with relative ease and seemed to be gaining the upper hand until he was suddenly going through the window. His back hit the pavement and he could feel tiny shards of glass slicing across his exposed skin.

Johnny awoke slowly; his head pounded mercilessly, and he coughed roughly when he attempted to breathe too deeply. He was alone in the room, but he could hear the sounds of continued fighting and turning his head he could see the broken window. What the hell? He groaned as he pushed himself to his feet and he momentarily lost his tenuous balance, listing towards the wall. He caught himself and moved shakily towards the opening.

Robby drifted, letting the continued sounds sparring wash over him, but the twilight state was shattered with the breaking of the plate-glass window. Robby startled fully awake and immediately was fully aware of the headache trying to rip apart his skull. He took a moment to look around and was surprised to see his father prone and unconscious on the floor. Try as he might, he couldn't seem to remember winning that particular fight or how he wound up on the floor himself.

He wasn't given much time to think it over as his thoughts were interrupted by harsh coughing from his father. Robby didn't move, only watched as his father groaned while he unsteadily made his way to his feet and nearly collapsed back to the floor. When he started to move toward the now missing window, Robby couldn't help the disappointment and anger that welled up within himself that his father wouldn't come to check on him first. He shook it off, what did it matter? His father would always have other priorities.

Kreese pushed himself up from where he landed atop Daniel and bent to pick up a shard of glass from the pavement. As he brandished the glass as a shiv, Daniel suddenly heard Chozen's voice in his head. Recalling his lessons while in Okinawa, he blocked the strikes from Kreese and countered with the nerve-blocking strikes. When the man was incapacitated, Daniel rose and prepared for his final strike. His attention was diverted, however, when Johnny staggered into the opening where the window used to be. He very nearly asked Johnny if he was alright, but before he could do anything more than gape, Johnny simply nodded twice which Daniel took to mean "Thanks. Do it." Recovering from the distraction, he again took up his stance, preparing to eliminate the threat once and for all.
