21. The Fall Of Sound

Story Start: I&T Department, Three Hours After Sound Four Capture

Naruto stared at the sheet of paper in his hands with a severe frown on his face for a moment before he looked up at the doctor who had handed it to him and he said "How accurate is this?"

"I ran the test two times more than protocol dictates just to be certain. The female prisoner you just brought in is ten percent Uzumaki. I'm not entirely certain how she retained your clan's red hair with so little of its blood in her veins when a half-Uzumaki such as yourself has your father's blond, but the fact remains that she IS distantly related to you." The doctor said calmly even as he crossed his left arm to hold his right elbow while his right hand cupped his chin in contemplation.

"And that's on top of the full-blooded Uzumaki the 'Sound Four' know about stationed in this 'South Base'." Inoichi Yamanaka said with a shake of his head.

"The paperwork for this is going to be a nightmare, never mind the fact at least one of them has Orochimaru's Curse Mark." Naruto groused in agreement.

The so-called paperwork nightmare stemmed from the fact that for this continent at least, Naruto was the de facto Uzumaki clan head when it came to the political arena and therefore said two enemy Uzumakis were technically HIS problem to deal with. There were a few ways to deal with said problem but all of them were sure to give him a headache at some point.

Glancing to the last person in the room, who was incidentally rubbing his forehead already, he said "Your orders Lord Hokage?"

Said leader opened one eye to observe Naruto for a moment before he said "Jounin Uzumaki, what would you need to put multiple strike teams into position around each base without moving people through the Slipstream via a shadow clone army?"

Naruto gained a grim grin as he said "How many multi-person stasis seals does this village have access to?"

Sarutobi let a smirk form on his face and opened his other eye as he said "With Jiraiya still currently in the village, more than enough. Report to the tower in three hours, it's time to undo all of my late student's hard work."

"Yes sir." Naruto said with a salute.

Time Skip: Three Hours Later

Sarutobi stood in the Jounin Lounge with every Jounin not currently on a mission present. On one side was his last remaining male student and on the other his fastest shinobi. Several maps, both land and building stood behind the three on the wall as Sarutobi explained to the group just how busy the upcoming hours were going to be.

"Each group will be transported by Jounin Uzumaki in a group stasis scroll that will unseal upon arrival to your destination where you will proceed to neutralize any and all Sound nin. You will have two hours to complete your missions and return to your start points for transport back to the village. Each team leader will be provided with a dossier on any we want captured alive, everyone else is to be dealt with at your discretion, each one of you will be given five ten person prisoner seals though so don't hesitate to grab someone if you believe they are of high rank. Those who will be recovering prisoners will be given mass transport stasis seals as well, ensure they are all unconscious first though, this is Orochimaru's work we are dealing with after all." The whole room gave grim nods at that last part and Sarutobi moved on to designating team leaders and the teams that they would be leading.

Time Skip: One Hour Later, South Base

Naruto shot around the shore of the rocky island the South Base was located on, planting eight scrolls as he did so. Five seconds after the last scroll was placed and released its occupants, Naruto reappeared on the water five miles out, a full blooded Uzumaki with a knockout tag on her forehead hanging over his shoulder. The blond took just long enough to properly seal her in a stasis scroll since it was never a good idea to put someone in a stasis scroll while on the move before he disappeared again as he made his way to the North Base, the only location that would be done solo thanks to his ability to make entire combat operation teams of shadow clones.

Location: North Base

The lookout posted just outside the prison where Orochimaru kept all of the experiments that the snake would class as 'temperamentally dangerous' didn't even have an instant to know there was an enemy in the area before Naruto's Slipstream boosted spinning kick off the lip of the outpost's railing took his head off in an explosion of blood and grey matter like a demented water balloon bursting from having a dart thrown at it. Naruto didn't pay any attention to the literal splash damage he left though, already down the trap hole into the tunnel leading into the base before the last drops of blood finished landing on the ground below the lookout.

The high strength security door at the end of the tunnel didn't so much as break apart as it disintegrated under the combined force of six wind augmented and double sized rasengans slammed into it at Slipstream speeds by Naruto and his five clones. The guards in the check point didn't even have time to properly register the door no longer being there before those same spinning balls of death took their torsos out. The six blondes wasted no time in separating as they went to complete their mission.

While the clones went after the Curse Mark bearers with a single minded focus that bordered on vengeance, only taking enough time to lariat the guards as they passed decapitating them before they knew what happened, the original Naruto went for the source. Reaching the highly secured door, he slapped a shaped charge style explosive tag on it before shooting back a hundred feet and detonating it. The fireball had barely dissipated to the point you could safely travel through it before Naruto was in the room and slapping no less than five knock out tags and ten chakra limiters on Jugo's body. No way were they taking any chances when the memories of the Sound Four said that it took a Kaguya of all things related to Irony to calm this guy down. Speaking of said bone user, Naruto was pretty sure everyone sent to that base had been glad that he entered it immediately after dropping them off and securing the bastard while he was still in his sick bed since even terminally ill no one wanted to tangle with a bloodline enhanced berserker.

With his primary objective for this base secured, Naruto joined his clones in some good old fashioned whole scale slaughter.

Time Skip: Ten Hours Later Hokage's Office

Tsunade strode into the room with annoyance on her face as she said without preamble "You take pleasure in making me want to strangle you every time we even remotely cross paths don't you Uzumaki?"

"I take it some of our prisoners and recovered corpses are a bit vexing medically speaking." Sarutobi said even as Naruto whistled innocently despite the cheeky grin he was wearing while he did said whistling. Now that all of the mission debriefings had been finished, the two had been discussing what would be done with the two Uzumaki prisoners they had and just how they would be dealing with the headaches the council would no doubt happily supply them because of said actions.

"That's putting it mildly. Disregarding the fact I have both a girl who can turn into a water monster and another person who can literally turn his entire body into water, that Jugo brat's body is, medically speaking, messed up seven ways to Sunday." Tsunade said and slumped down in the second seat next to her distant cousin, draining the Sake bottle held in one hand completely dry before popping the tab on the second bottle and said "So what are we going to do with these Uzumaki cousins of mine?"

Scene Change: T&I Department

Kairin Uzumaki was not having a good day. First she gets kidnapped from the base she was at with absolutely no warning whatsoever that there had been an intruder, something that quite frankly scared her metaphorically pee less, then she wakes up in an interrogation cell with a scarred mountain of a man that scared her even more even though he never once physically touched her. Now she was staring down a god damned sannin and a blonde kid a year or two younger than her who was good enough to be made a fricking Jounin when he hadn't even finished puberty yet. You'll forgive her if she's shaking in her ninja sandals right now, right?

Surprisingly, it wasn't her fellow medic who spoke first, but the blonde as he said "Kairin Uzumaki, you stand at a crossroads. One path leads to a dark future ahead of you while the other two have the potential of seeing you living with fellow clansmen for the rest of your life. I suggest you listen and choose your upcoming words very carefully."
