Chapter 9
"Vergil...Dante…"
"*Gasp*" Dante's voice startled everyone in the Command deck. His aura then glowed red around him. "No…"
"Dante, what's wrong?" Glynda said as she walked towards him. But Roman stopped her before she could get close. "What are you-"
"Don't! I've seen that look before. When he and Summer were with us, she was held hostage by some gang who had beef with us. They struck her face, Dante lost control of who he was. He nearly killed the poor bastards if Summer hadn't stepped in. Give him some space."
Glynda remembered Summer's bruised face when they returned to the academy. She said she walked into a metal pole on the way back from the city, now she knows how it really happened.
Calming himself down, Dante took a deep breath and said.
"Amber is gone, the maidens' power belongs to the bad guys now."
"What?!" Ironwood and Glynda screamed. With Amber gone, the powers belong to her attacker now!
"Damn it! We failed, there's nothing else we can do! Our only option is to save those that are still alive and retreat to a safe zone!"
"I'm afraid James is right, without a maiden on our side we can't fight back against the Grimm."
"You two do whatever the hell you want, I'm taking that bitch down! Roman! Open the door!"
"Whatever you say, just do your thing."
"Dante!" Glynda shouted. "You can't take on a maiden, it's too dangerous! Even with your abilities, it's suicide!"
"I know," Dante replied calmly. "But somebody's gotta do something about it, and I'm the person who's willing to do it. Roman."
"On it." The former thug pushed the button to open the door, letting the wind blow inside the room.
Dante walked towards the door, he looked back and said.
"If I make it through this, the first round is on me, and this time, Glyn, you're taking a real drink."
"Shut up and go, will you?"
He gave them a two finger salute and jumped out of the aircraft. Leaving the group worried. Can Dante make it back this time? He's been through tough situations, and made it back alive. But against a maiden? There's a small chance he will survive. The group had no choice but to pray for his safety.
Beacon Academy, Ruined Area.
With Gambol Shroud in her hands, Yang sheathed the sword and looked at Adam with her blue glowing eyes full of anger while the aura surrounding her lit up the area. The power flowing through her, It felt great! Like she can take on the entire world! It also healed her wounds too! But it wasn't enough, she wanted more! More power to beat, no, kill this bastard! And when he's out of the way, perhaps her former friend will feel this power too!
Blake saw Yang rise up from the ground and the fatal wound she received was now fully healed! She also saw her eyes glow blue once again, but the blue aura surrounding her was new! What is happening to Yang?! Blake tried to get up and do something, however the wound on her stomach was interfering thanks to Adam! All she could do was watch helplessly and see the battle unfold in front of her.
The leader of the white fang looked at the human in shock! How is she still alive?! And what is this power she's pouring out? Is it her semblance? No, it felt different. This isn't normal! What is she?! Is she even human?! No matter. If she's still alive, then he'll have to fix his mistake. And this time, her head is coming off!
Both fighters stood still and waited to see who would make the first move as they could feel the hate towards each other! Yang and Adam slowly took a battle stance and they placed their hands over the handles of their weapons and then…

Their weapons clashed against each other as a shockwave shook the area around them! They struggled to overpower their opponent as the blades created sparks as it grinded against each other. No one was pushed back, not even an inch!
Seeing their struggle was evenly matched, both jumped back away, changed once more and began swinging their swords.
Adam was easily able to block and dodge the human's attacks with no problem thanks to his training many years ago. However, every strike that hit his sword's blade from that human was beginning to become stronger and stronger! What is this power?! Where did she obtain it?!
Yang went all out attacking this guy with all her might, hell, the mysterious she suddenly received doubled everything! Her speed, strength, senses, and the addition to heal her wounds! Where did this power come from? It sure doesn't feel normal, nor a semblance.
The battle continued as both fighters did not miss a beat.
Adam sheathed his katana and swung it at Yang's head twice, causing her to be dazed. Then he took out the blade and slashed her upwards and downwards. Doing some good damage to the human as blood spewed out from the cuts. With a spin, he slashed downwards.
*Clang*
The attack was blocked with Gambol Shroud's sheath, this surprised the white fang leader.
Yang managed to stop the attack at the last second. Damn, this new power sure is helpful! Like a lot! The damage she received was healed rapidly, she was still in the fight! And not gonna stop just yet!
With Gambol Shroud still blocking the sword, Yang tilted the weapon and pulled the trigger.
*Bang*
"Argh!" Screamed Adam with his ear ringing painfully, causing him to let guard down!
Now able to fight back, Yang unleashed her rage against this bastard!
She sheathed her sword and punched him across the face, another in the gut, which forced him to lean forward, Yang grabbed his head and brought it down on her knee! Not done yet, she front flipped and brought her heel down and smashed the faunus's head into the ground, then kicked him away!
Crashing into a wall, Adam was grunting in pain as his aura was beginning to deplete completely! Her strength, that can't be normal! Those punches nearly cracked his skull and almost punched a hole into his stomach! If it wasn't for his aura, then he'd be dead! But then again, coming back from dying might have weakened her! He'll have to be careful with this human if he wants to survive!
"AAAAAAAAH!"
Looking up, Adam saw the Human in the air screaming in anger and about to smash her fist onto him! He quickly rolled out of the way just in time and saw the destruction she caused. Her attack made a crater! She looked back at him and attacked again!
Yang shouted in anger and began to throw punches without any hesitation or thoughts! The only thing in her mind right now was killing this bastard!
Adam was able to keep up and dodge the human's attacks! But he couldn't keep this up long! He has to finish this! Seeing another punch heading towards his face he unsheathed halfway and-
*Shink*
Her hand punched the blade and was now sliced and stuck within! Blood was spewing around her hand and the sword! Adam was in shock! No one can withstand this kind of pain! And she didn't even flinch! But she didn't stop there as she continued to scream and pushed her hand towards him!
"RAAAAAAAAWR!
Yang's hand was being cut in half all the way to the forearm as she continued to move towards the White Fang leader!
As Adam saw this, the human's arm was now in half! But that's not what surprised him, what did was that as her arm was pushed further, it started to heal! From the hand to the forearm it began to reconnect and reached towards him! Quickly, he pulled away from that...that...thing! She can't be human! No one can regenerate that quickly! Not even a lizard faunus can heal that fast!
As her arm began to heal once again from being sliced and was ripped open, Yang decided that using her fists in this fight was not gonna work for long, she had to use Blake's weapon if she wanted to stay alive! Seeing her injuries now healed, but now lost one of her gauntlets in the process, she unsheathed Gambol Shroud and held both the sword and the bladed sheath in her hands and ran to fight again!
("By the gods, she still won't back down?! Damn it! I'll have to use that 'move!' But I need some time! Just need keep my distance from her!") Thought Adam as he brought his guard up.
Yang charged towards the man and attacked! She swung her sword at him, he ducked! She swung her bladed sheath, he dodged back away! She then aimed the sword pistol and fired a few rounds! He deflected them with his sword! In anger, Yang threw the balded sheath at him! Again he dodged it by stepping aside!
*Crash*
Adam saw the sheath impaled into the wall behind him! That was close! He heard footsteps heading towards him, Adam turned to see the human charging towards him with Blake's weapon on hand.
As she got close, the human raised her sword and brought it down! But Adam blocked it with his katana and jammed his sheath into abdomen, and pulled the trigger!
*Bang* *Bang* * Bang*
He then kicked her away, giving him some distance! He quickly prepared his attack before she comes back!
Slowly getting back up as the wounds from her chest began to heal, Yang was starting to get pissed off! Was she still weak? Why hasn't this new found power made her stronger?! She needs more. More power! Back on her feet, Yang roared in anger as the blue aura around her grew bigger!
With Adam, he didn't like what he was seeing from the human! He could tell that she's getting ready for the killing blow! Lucky, he too is ready to kill her! Just need to wait until she's close…
Powering up as much as she could, Yang ran toward the bastard, and readied her katana as she aimed it at his head!
Adam kept calm as he breathed in and out to focus while holding on to the grip of his weapon tightly.
Yang jumped in the air and brought down the sword!
"DIE YOU BASTARD!"
*End music*
*Slash*
Landing on the ground, Yang looked back to see if the leader of the white fang's head was off his shoulders. She looked back and saw him still in one piece. And smiling? Why is he- Her right arm felt numb! And began to feel cold! Yang looked at her arm and saw it missing! Looking at the ground it was there lying in a pool of her own blood. She began to feel light headed and said.
"Well...shit." With that, Yang fell to the ground and blacked out! The aura that surrounded her has disappeared! Without it, she'll bleed to death!
Seeing the human fall, Adam fell to his knees and felt exhausted as he breathed heavily. That was close, too close! If he had missed, then that would've been him on the ground dead! He turned to see the human again, but the body was no longer there! Even Blake! They Escaped! Damn it! Doesn't matter, he'll find them again soon enough.
Today, Vale has fallen. And the white fang still stands!

Beacon Academy, Tower.
Pyrrha was on her knees breathing heavily and in pain! She had used all her strength against the woman in red, but it was useless. After absorbing the rest of the maidens power, she was unstoppable! Even with the use of her polarity powers was nothing against her!
Cinder smiled at her work. All this power was finally hers! And no one will stop her! Not even Ozpin was able to defeat her! And his death was proof of that! She walked towards the teenager and said.
"It was unfortunate that you were promised power that was never truly yours." She grabbed the child's head and raised it to face her "But take comfort in knowing that I will use it in many ways you could never have imagined!"
Pyrrha backed away from the woman, she was disgusted by her. It seems the maidens' power made feel like a goddess. But it was true, how she used the power was unimaginable! She herself knew she needed training to at least control and use the powers that she was going to possess! But...
"Tch, power that was never truly mine?" Pyrrha replied. "It was never yours to begin with. You stole that power by murdering Amber, the original fall maiden! I was promised with the maidens power, yes. But honestly, I didn't want it in the first place."
Hearing this caught Cinder's attention. She let the girl speak.
"I didn't want it because of its history, and the risks. But in the end I decided to become the fall maiden, for I believed it was my destiny! But then you came along and stole the fall maidens power!"
"And? What's your point?"
"My point is, you saved me from becoming the maiden."
"What?" Cinder said in surprise, she saved this child? From becoming a maiden? How?!
"As I said, I believed it was my destiny to become a maiden. But you took that opportunity from me! So thank you, for changing my fate. One that I'd rather not have! And It made me believe that destiny doesn't control my life! So tell me, do you believe in destiny?"
"...Yes." Cinder replied, as she summoned a bow and arrow from glass and aimed it at her. Without hesitation she released the arrow and-
*Fwip*
*Bang*
The arrow shattered! Surprising both Cinder and Pyrrha!
*Bang* *Bang* *Bang*
Bullets rain down towards Cinder as she dodges out of the way! The woman looked up and saw something, no, someone falling and heading right towards her!
*Crash*
Smoke covered the area for the moment, as it settled, they saw a man between them in what appears to be a landing position? He stood up and said.
"Woo! Superhero landing! Don't try that at home kids! Cuz, it's hard on your knees!"
"YOU!" Cinder screamed in anger! She knew who this man was! It was her master's second worst enemy! Correction. Second worst enemy! Ozpin was the first, now it's this man who is a threat to her plans!
Pyrrha looked in shock! How in the world did he survive that landing! The Impact could've killed him! Or shatter his legs! But she'd be lying to herself if she wasn't relieved to see her savior.
"Dante?"
Looking back, Dante saw Pyrrha and said.
"Hey kid! Been a while! You look like you've been through hell! How are you holding up?"
"Um…" Pyrrha didn't know what to say! Maybe some humor or something? "Well, I was shot in the ankle by an arrow, so I think I'll live."
"Yikes! Be glad you didn't take it in the knee! Or else your adventuring days are over!"
"Eh?"
"Alright then," Dante pulled out his handguns and aimed it at Cinder! "I take it you are responsible for the damages here? I do hope you have very, and I mean VERY deep pockets lady, because the damages you caused are expensive!"
Cinder didn't say a word as she kept her eyes on Dante, she knew with the powers of a maiden, he won't stand a chance! But he also proves to be unpredictable! She'll need to be cautious.
"Playing the silent game huh? Well as much as I want to play too, I got a job to do. And you're it! But first…"
Dante holstered one of his pistols while aiming the other at the woman, picked up Pyrrha, placed her underneath his arm and walked towards the edge of the tower.
"Um...Dante? What are you doing?" Pyrrah said nervously. She didn't like what the man was about to attempt. There's no way he will toss her off the tower! Right?
"Promise me one thing kid, don't hold a grudge on me for this. Ok?"
"Wait, you're not-"
*Toss*
"Waaaaaaaaaah!"
Cinder was taken back, did he just toss that girl off the tower?! She was right, he is unpredictable!
"Now!" Said Dante as he put his full attention to the woman. "With the kid out of the way, it's time for the adults to talk. So spill it. All of this destruction, all the deaths and suffering, was just to kill Amber, my friend, to take the maidens' powers? Lady, you need help."
"*Hmph* I think you're the one who needs help. Facing me alone, a fully powered maiden, with enough power to destroy the likes of you!"
"Yeah well, you'd be surprised by what I've been through. Like getting stabbed multiple times, some of those times were from my brother. And that's just one example! So, I'll be fine."
"Funny. But I think the time for talking is over. I've got what I came for! So let's see how you'll survive this?" Cinder replied as she showed off the powers of the fall maiden.
"Fine by me, I was getting tired of talking anyway!" Dante replied casually. He then mocked a gentleman's bow and said. "So my lady, shall we dance?"
"We shall."

Authors note: Spoiler Alert: Dante and Cinder's fight will be skipped for plot reasons in the next chapter. Mostly because I was starting to get lazy at the end and I kinda made Dante a bit too overpowered against cinder. Hope you understand. And yes its been years. I had my reasons. Let's not get into that please. Will I update anothet chapter? Well, expect slow updates. Nuff said. But keep an eye out. Later!
