Quinn's Dreams

Chapter 1: MIA
Kurt and Blaine were woken up in the middle of the night to Quinn Puckerman screaming in pain for the third night in a row. As they rush into the room, they see Burt Hummel was holding her and Santana Lopez was trying to get her to wake up. Quinn just kept screaming, "Puck!" For twenty minutes until she looked around and just broke down. As she was sleeping again, Burt says, "It's been carrying on for three months now, and we didn't want to tell you about it. The Navy says Puck is dead, but Quinn keeps dreaming about him being whipped and last night. I never could get her to tell me what else she saw in her dreams, but she told me Puck looked like Samson, and he had to watch as the other men in his unit were devoured."
Soon, eighteen-month-old Tracie Anderson came into the room and said, "My turn, help Queenie. Sleeps better, me here." Then she starts pushing the others out of the room, before Santana says to Tracie, "You are not making me sleep on the couch again, young lady! You got me up at four in the morning to help you keep her quiet!" Tracie climbs into bed with Quinn and says, "Me right, you left. She kicks, you hold."
Burt chuckles and says, "Santana, I have been ordered around by Tracie for two weeks and have been helping Quinn for two and a half months with Carole's help. Now, Carole is staying at your house to get some sleep because she is the one with a damaged heart." Before Tracie whistles and points to the door as she glares at Burt.
After that, Tracie says, "Tana, Queenie, your house. Nana here, this crazy. Told G' Pa, won't listen. G' Pa Burt, bull headed. Like Dada, you think?" Santana looks at the door and notices someone is still standing on the other side. Before she says in a loud whisper, "Yes, Tracie, I totally agree, Grandpa Burt is the perfect role model for Uncle Puck!" Then they heard Burt chuckle as Blaine tried to calm Kurt down.
The next morning, Quinn woke up holding Tracie and Burt came in with some coffee. As Quinn drinks her coffee, Burt says, "Carole is coming back today. You better be glad I stepped down as a congressman before Puck was missing, Quinn. Tracie was about to have you sent to Santana's house. Ha, Kurt thought he got his bossy, controlling nature from his mom."
Quinn looks at Tracie and says, "I was planning to ask Kurt if I could stay with them, but I changed my mind after I heard you yelling at General Young for me. Mr. H, last night was the most traumatic dream ever. I drempt Puck was being raped by over a thousand men. Raped, Mr. H! What if he comes back gay or so damaged I'll be the one woken up by him having the same dreams?!"
Soon she was sobbing as the phone rang. Tracie hugged Quinn as Burt went to get the phone. As Burt came back into the room, he says, "Are you sure, Mike? Okay, I'm sure she'll be glad to hear it." Then he ends the call and says to Quinn, "They found Puck. I don't know all the details yet. I just know he was found wandering around naked with broken shackles on his wrist and ankles, and his body was covered in blood."
Quinn holds onto Tracie as she cries happy tears and says, "I know you sent Mrs. H to Santana's after I kissed you and Kurt refused to leave. Because he thought I would try to kiss you again. God, Mr. H, you and Puck are just so much alike. Ha, how Kurt can't see that is beyond me. Could you imagine being with Norah instead of Mrs. H?"
Tracie screams, "Nono, not Dada, Queenie! Me, not, Beff's sissy! Nono reason dads met!" Then she touches Quinn's belly and says, "Beff's Bubba, Nono's son. Ha, G' Pa's grandson." Quinn and Burt look at Tracie with raised eyebrows. Before she rolls her eyes and replies, "G' Pa Nono's new Dada. Nono's Dada in heart. Nono has Queenie, okay? Dada has Papa, okay? Remember what Dada said?"
Quinn and Burt chuckle and Quinn says, "Stop worrying! If you don't stop worrying! You'll give yourself a heart attack! Ha, Mr. H, we both know if this baby is like Kurt or not, Puck will be like you no matter what. I just hope Little Burt doesn't get a girl in trouble." Soon, Kurt rushes into the room and turns on the television to see Noah chained between two pillars before he screams and flexes his muscles and the building falls on top of him. Then General Young is seen a half-hour later with other troops and Noah is walking out of the jungle looking dazed and confused.
Soon, General Young calls Quinn, but Burt answers her phone and says, "I know you found him last week, and you are just telling us this now! Do you know how long Quinn has been having nightmares about Puck? You were the one that told her Puck was dead! Then two weeks later, you informed me he was MIA after we saw a video of his unit being ambushed! What are you trying to hide here, General?" Then he ends the call and storms out.
When Burt came back, Noah was with him wearing some sweats and Noah looks at Quinn before saying, "Don't worry, Babe, I'm still straight and my memory came back three days ago." Quinn looks at Burt before breaking down.
Then Noah sets down beside her and asks Burt, "How long have we been sharing dreams, Mr. H?" Before he pulls Quinn onto his lap as she continues to cry.
Burt looks at Quinn as he says, "She started having them after you were ambushed. Mike would never tell us the truth and until after a video was shown on the news we didn't know you were found. I can't believe you don't have PTSD after what happened to you, Puck." Noah looks at Quinn as he says, "Me too, Mr. H, me too. Quinn cried herself to sleep and Noah just watched her. As Burt and Kurt went into the living room.
Two hours later, Carole walked in with Blaine, and Tracie was absent. Soon, Quinn starts screaming and Noah screams, "Mr. H, I need your help!" Then they hear Quinn thrashing around before Noah says, "Wake up, Babe, I'm home. It's just a nightmare. Come on, Babe, wake up!"
Quinn was still thrashing when Burt ran in, and he lay on the other side of her. Both men held her until she calmed down, then Noah asks, "So, has she been staying here the whole time I was missing?"
Burt looks at Quinn before saying, "Yes, her parents died in a car crash a week later and the Navy kicked her off the base a month after you went MIA. Her nightmares are so intense that some nights Tracie is the only one that can keep her calm. The night you came back, Santana came by when she was having another one. Up until that point, Carole and I had been taking care of her alone. We didn't tell the others about it until last night, or rather I didn't. Quinn kissed me last week, and Carole went to Santana's because I was kissing her back. I don't want Quinn, I promise, and I know she thought I was you when she kissed me. So, don't worry about her..."
Soon Kurt screams, "Ew, Daddy, really! She was Finn's girlfriend before Puck came into the picture, and now I need to get out of here." Before, Noah chuckles and says, "I'm just glad my mom isn't married to your dad." And the others start to laugh.
Then Blaine says, "Quinn found a picture album in the box of Finn's things that had Kurt's handwriting all over it and Santana's handwriting. It was Santana's first, let's just say. There were pictures of you naked on every page, showing front and rear views of you. Quinn gave it back to Santana after she found it. I didn't know about it until I found the only picture of you in your boxers in Tracie's room. Ha, I couldn't give that one back to Santana though because you were colored green. By the way, Tracie loves the Hulk and we can't get her to watch any other movies he's not in." Tracie stomped Blaine's foot and stormed out before Noah chuckled.
Fifteen minutes later, Tracie was watching Quinn while the others were listening to Noah tell them the whole story of what happened to him. Then Burt goes to check on Quinn and sees Tracie is asleep now. He just brushed the hair out of Quinn's face and went back into the living room after kissing her forehead. Then he sits by Carole and says to Noah, "Puck, I think Quinn got your PTSD and that's why you are fine now."
Noah nods in agreement and says, "Thanks for taking her in Mr. H and I hope I'm half the dad you are when Little Burt is born. By the way, I named him that, way before I knew she was having a boy. After I heard Tracie saying, "Burt, hurt." Over and over the day before I left."
Then Carole glares at Burt and whispers to Noah, "He taught her that, and she repeats it a lot. When she watches anything with the Hulk on it. She stopped saying it after you were missing and says Nono when she sees the Hulk." Before she punches Burt in the arm as he tries to stifle a laugh.
When Quinn finally woke up feeling wet, Tracie was leaving the room saying, "Queenie peed the bed." Soon, Quinn saw blood and screamed, "No!" repeatedly. Before long, Quinn was in the hospital after she started having a seizure following the miscarriage. The doctors thought she should be in a place better equipped to deal with her PTSD. But Noah wouldn't opt for it after what the Navy did to her when he went MIA.
After Quinn was released, Noah and Burt were both trying to get her help. But the benefits Noah got wouldn't cover half the costs, and they were too high for her to qualify for home care. So, Burt used his money to pay for the home care, and everybody was shocked to see that Dave Karofsky was the nurse that came in to help them.
Some nights, Quinn's nightmares would take so much out of her. That she would sleep more during the day than at night. Sometimes she won't even let anyone but Dave or Burt be near her. Which would upset Noah or Carole and they would yell at Burt over it. Dave, Kurt, or Blaine would stop the fights and calm them down. But that didn't keep the stress from getting more intense.
One night Burt was in the living room sleeping on the couch. When Noah went into the kitchen to get a glass of milk and the light from the fridge woke Burt up. As he sets up, he says, "I'm really sorry, Puck. I know I should let you take care of Quinn now. Maybe Carole is right, I'm not over Elizabeth dying and I'm being too close with Quinn." Noah says nothing and just glares at him before heading back to bed.
It wasn't five minutes later, Quinn was screaming, and this time the cops were called because the screaming dragged on for two hours until Dave had to sedate her. It wasn't until she was sleeping peacefully that Carole and Noah were apologizing to Burt for getting mad at him. Then Burt heads to bed with Carole, and Noah finds Tracie asleep next to Quinn. He just set up for the rest of the night, watching them and brushing his fingers through Quinn's hair.
The next morning, everyone was woken up hearing Noah screaming, "Dave, call 911! Quinn, wake up! Come on, wake up, please! Quinn? Quinn! God, no!" Then Dave was heard saying, "I got a pulse! Come on, Quinn, get up!"
When Quinn awoke in the hospital, she saw Noah and broke down crying, "Let the dreams end! Please, make them stop, God! I can't take no more, I want to die! Please, God, make the dreams stop." Then a nurse comes in and sedates her as Burt comes in ahead of the others.
Dave looks at Noah and says, "She tried to kill herself by overdosing on the sleeping pills I give her. I think she felt guilty about what this was doing to you guys and couldn't take it anymore." Noah doesn't respond and just storms out after pushing Burt.
Tracie followed Noah to the maternity ward and he just picked her up as he says, "I'm sorry, Squirt, it looks like you won't get to be my daughter-in-law like you wanted." Then he breaks down as Burt comes up to them, but no one says a word, and when Noah stops crying, he heads back to Quinn's hospital room followed by Burt.
As they head back to Quinn's hospital room, Noah says, "Look, Mr. H, I know none of this is your fault and I can't imagine what you have been through with Kurt's mom. But Quinn is my girl and her wanting you with her during all this. Just pisses me off because I can't help her and you can." As they enter the room, Burt says," I know, Puck." And sits by Carole.
