Quinn's Dreams

Chapter 2: I'll Stand By You

After Quinn's miscarriage, she refused to let anyone ever see her except for Tracie. Dave would give Quinn's meds to Tracie, and she would make sure Quinn took them correctly. Quinn's nightmares were about Beth and the baby she lost this time. One night it was so unbearable. Dave, Noah, and Burt had to hold her down.

When Quinn woke up the next day, she asked Tracie to run to get Burt, and the moment he came in, she says, "Puck found the second baby book and I took it before we got back together the second time. Mr. H, I don't know how much more of these nightmares I can take. I understand this is stressing everyone out still. I'm certain Elizabeth didn't die of cancer, Mr. H. I want to know what really happened!"

Kurt walks in as Burt breaks down. When Burt calms down, he keeps his eyes on Quinn as he says, "The day she slipped into a coma, she had a miscarriage and Kurt was the one that discovered her in the tub. He thought she was asleep, but I found out that she had overdosed on the depression medication she was given. Following the funeral, I found a note in her things. I thought she died from cancer. I let Kurt believe that it was cancer that killed her. Because I was too ashamed of the fact she took her life. I poured myself into my work until I met Carole, and never let myself grieve for or think about her until we kissed. Ha, you were reminding me of Elizabeth when you had Beth. Although she adored Kurt and doted on him. But she wasn't taking her own advice and was at her breaking point by the time she found out she had cancer. She hid it all from me until the end. Finn found the book before he..."

Quinn turns away from Burt and asks for Tracie. When Tracie comes in Santana is with her. Both of them lay on each side of Quinn before Santana starts to sing I'll Stand By You.

(Santana)

Oh, why you look so sad?

The tears are in your eyes

Come on and come to me now

Don't, be ashamed to cry

Let me see you through

'Cause I've seen a dark side, too

When the night falls on you

You don't know what to do

Nothing you confess, could make me love you less

I'll stand by you

I'll stand by you

Won't let nobody hurt you

I'll stand by you

So, if you're mad get mad

Don't hold it all inside

Come on and talk to me now

Hey, what you gotta hide?

I get angry too

Well, I'm a lot like you

When you're standing at the crossroads

Don't know which path to choose

Let me come along, 'cause even if you're wrong

I'll stand by you

I'll stand by you

Won't let nobody hurt you

I'll stand by you

Take me into your darkest hour

And I'll never desert you

I'll stand by you

And when, when the night falls on you, Baby

You're feeling all alone

You won't be on your own

I'll stand by you

I'll stand by you

Won't let nobody hurt you

I'll stand by you

Take me into your darkest hour

And I'll never desert you

I'll stand by you

Oh, I'll stand by you

I'll stand by you

Noah stormed out after this and an hour later Mercedes calls Kurt. Yet, all he hears is Noah yelling at someone. Once Kurt turned on his speaker, Noah yelled, "I'm not Mr. H, and Quinn is not you, Elizabeth! Everybody keeps telling me, I'm like Mr. H, but they are wrong! I'm nothing like him! I lost my best friend to suicide! There is no way I'm giving up on Quinn like that! Quinn is my world and I don't want to lose her again. I let her slip away from me twice already. There is no way I am willing to give up on her again! I almost died trying to get back to her! I'm sorry for all the things I did to Kurt growing up. Okay? Please, I don't want to lose Quinn again!"

Soon Noah was sobbing and Mercedes says, "Puck has been coming here since Mr. H got him out of the hospital. Today was the first time he yelled at your mom, and he was yelling at her about the way she left Mr. H and you before I called you. How is Quinn doing?"

Kurt doesn't get to answer her because Noah answers her by yelling, "She has been having nightmares since I've been missing, Mercedes! How do you think she is doing? Mr. H has watched Quinn this whole time! Now, Quinn won't let anyone but Tracie near her! I want my girl back, Mercedes. I don't want her to die, and her PTSD is killing her. I let Beth go after Shelby got her. God, took my son back and almost took me! He is not taking her, and I am not willing to let her do what Finn did!" Noah breaks down again before Mercedes ends the call.

While Quinn holds Tracie, Kurt asks Santana to leave as he enters the room. Then Quinn breaks down as she holds Tracie. Kurt lays on the other side of her and whispers, "Lean on me, Quinn." Before he started to sing the song.

(Kurt)

Sometimes in our lives, we all have pain

We all have sorrow

But if we are wise

We know that there's always tomorrow

Lean on me, when you're not strong

And I'll be your friend

I'll help you carry on

For it won't be long

'Til I'm gonna need

Somebody to lean on

Please swallow your pride

If I have things you need to borrow

For no one can fill those of your needs

That you won't let show

You just call on me, brother, when you need a hand.

We all need somebody to lean on

I just might have a problem that you'll understand

We all need somebody to lean on

Lean on me, when you're not strong

And I'll be your friend

I'll help you carry on

For it won't be long

'Til I'm gonna need

Somebody to lean on

You just call on me, brother, when you need a hand.

We all need somebody to lean on

I just might have a problem that you'll understand

We all need somebody to lean on

If there is a load you have to bear

That you can't carry

I'm right up the road

I'll share your load

If you just call me (call me)

If you need a friend (call me) call me uh-huh (call me) if you need a friend (call me)

If you ever need a friend (call me)

Call me (call me) Call me (call me) Call me

(call me) call me (call me) if you need a friend

(Call me) call me (call me) Call me (call me) Call me (call me) Call me (call me)
