I spent all of Sunday working on planning out my schedule for the rest of the semester. It took me hours but by the end of the day I had organized everything into my planner and had it all color coded.

"Okay, I'm maxed out on school for today," Piper huffed, closing her books. "So, are we gonna talk about what happened last night?"

"Oh, I'd really rather not," I grimaced, remembering yesterday.

"So you're not gonna tell me why you threw your drink in Percy's face?" Piper smiled a little bit at the memory of looking over to see Percy dripping wet while Jason laughed.

"He made some sexist comment to me, it's really not worth repeating. I just got so angry at him and I was a little buzzed. I shouldn't have acted out so impulsively, he just drives me insane." I wasn't gonna put up with his nonsense anymore, the guy was a total pain.

"I just kinda thought you liked him, you too seemed pretty cozy before that," Piper noted.

"Well, I won't be making that mistake again. I'm just gonna try and ignore the guy from now on." Even when I said it, I knew it was gonna be difficult to do that.

"Easier said than done when he lives about 10 feet from us," Piper laughed.

"Ugh I know, I really have the worst luck." I threw myself on my pillows and wondered, why me?

"We'll, what do you want to do, we still have a few hours before dinner, want to go walk around campus?" Piper asked.

"Sure, that actually sounds really nice." I got out of bed and pulled on my shoes, it was a nice day outside and I needed to get out of this tiny little room.

The campus was really beautiful, and I couldn't help but study the architecture of the buildings, and how they complimented each other while also being unique in their own way. Piper kept having to drag me along, laughing when I stayed a little too long outside of the architecture building, marveling at the engravings etched into each grand column.

Besides enjoying the scenery, I really loved talking to Piper. She told me about her home town, and about her dad and what it was like growing up. We shared our stories about battling monsters and what it was like when we found out our heritage. I had never had a friend like Piper, someone that I felt immediately close with, and like I could share anything with her.

At some point, we stumbled upon the recreational fields. They were huge, and several football fields in lengths for sure. There was rock climbing, a sword fighting arena, space for about any kind of sport you could think of, and obstacle courses.

There were actually quite a few people on the field. I guess a lot of kids spent their weekends training or practicing, you can never be too prepared for a fight to the death.

There was a sword fight going on over in the arena, so Piper and I walked over to check it out. We pushed our way to the front to get a better glimpse of the fighters, but I realized too late that one of them was Percy.

"Oh shoot, he's here," I said groaning.

"Oh come on, it'll be fine, there's too many people here for him to notice, let's just watch, it'll be fun," Piper assured me.

I watched as Percy fought the other guy. He was amazing, probably one of the best sword fighters I had ever seen. The duel ended with the other guy's sword clattering to the ground, his hands up in the air in defeat.

Percy laughed triumphantly. He called out for anyone who could challenge him. After a few different rounds, it was clear to me that he had been practicing for years, and had a natural talent at disarming and defeating his opponents.

I was impressed, but I wasn't going to let him know that. As the sun began to set, and Percy defeated another daughter of Aries, I saw him take out something small from his pocket and tap it on the top of his blade. What was once a sword became a small, plastic pen and I saw him shove it into his pocket. I wondered how he had come across such a rare magical artifact.

The crowd began dispersing, and Piper and I walked off, headed back to get ready for supper.

I felt a hand on my shoulder, and turned around to see Percy smiling at me.

"Did you enjoy the show?" He asked.

"Don't let it go to your head, but yeah, I was impressed. You're a natural." I told him.

"Look, I wanted to apologize about the other night, I shouldn't have said what I did," he said, surprising me. He rubbed the back of his neck and looked at me with those deep green eyes.

I wanted to stay mad at him, but looking at his face, I could tell he was being genuine. It caught me off guard, and I decided to forgive him.

"Oh, that's okay, Percy. I'm sorry I overreacted like I did, I can be a bit of a hot head sometimes," I admitted.

"So, how'd you find me? I didn't expect to see you here," he said, falling in step with Piper and I.

"We followed the stench of testosterone emanating from arena," Piper joked.

I laughed and saw Percy crack a smile. "What can I say, I'm a crowd pleaser," he said back confidently.

I rolled my eyes. "In your dreams, Seaweed Brain."

"Oh okay, Wise Girl, I saw you in the crowd, you couldn't take your eyes off me," Percy said slyly.

Piper giggled and I began regretting my decision to forgive him. He was so arrogant. But something in his smile showed me he was joking, so I let it slide.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night," I said back.

As we walked back to our dorm, it began to get chillier, and I regretted wearing just a light t-shirt.

Percy told us goodbye and went to get dinner and the dining pavilion. Piper and I needed to go put on some warmer clothes, so we went back to our dorm to grab our jackets.

"You know, he's not so bad. He's kinda growing on me," Piper stated as we got to our room.

I laughed, "That makes one of us." Even when I said it, I knew it was a lie. He was growing on me, too.

When we arrived at the dining pavilion, we saw Jason and Percy sitting at a table without their usual crowd. Jason waved us over, and after we submitted our offering to the gods, we joined them.

"Where's your usual posse?" I asked the guys as we sat down.

"They're coming, I think most of them are still at the red fields being idiots." Jason answered.

Piper and I laughed. We exchanged friendly conversation, and I noticed Percy looking at me from time to time. I tried to hide my blush.

Dinner was delicious. Juicy fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans with bacon? The boys both got second helpings, and I almost did too.

Percy and Jason's friends joined us a little later on through the meal. "Well, well, well, if it isn't Annabeth Chase," said a boy I had never met.

"Do I know you?" I asked the guy. I was sure I had never met him before.

"I'm Leo Valdez, son of Hephaestus. I've heard a lot about you." He grinned wildly and stuck out his hand to shake mine.

Percy shoved him. "He's just messing around," Percy said, obviously hiding something.

I raised my eyebrows at the boy, wondering what was going on, but I never found out.

The boys were all talking about the new obstacle course they had been trying to master on the rec fields. I was interested in giving it a go, and made a mental note to check it out later that week.

"Are you guys going to Screen on the Green later?" Jason asked us.

"Oh, you mean the movie night they do every Sunday night? Yeah, Annabeth let's go," Piper smiled enthusiastically. I agreed to go, and we cleaned up our table and left the dining pavilion.

The Green was a big green field in front of the main library. I hadn't been inside the library yet, but I was dying to check it out. There was so much to do at this school, and I was overjoyed with all the possibilities.

The school had put up a giant screen for the night, and they were showing the Disney classic, Hercules.

Piper, Jason, Percy and I all shared a blanket. Piper and Jason were all cuddled up on their side, and I noticed Percy had put his arm behind me, his long legs stretched out in front of him. Half way through the movie, I turned my head to get a glimpse of Percy, and I saw him staring at me. He cleared his throat and looked down, but then he looked back over at me.

He leaned over and whispered in my ear, "I'm finding it hard to pay attention to this movie when you keep looking at me."

I stuck my tongue out at him and he grinned. He looked back up at the movie but I felt his hand reach over and squeeze my side, causing me to squirm.

"Percy don't! I'm ticklish." I protested.

"Oh, you should not have told me that," he smiled mischievously.

"Don't you dare, Percy. There are people around, don't embarrass me!" I pleaded.

He pulled me in closer to him and whispered in my ear, "oh but I want to so bad."

Something about the way he said it sent chills up and down my spine. I looked up into his eyes and realized how close our faces were to each other.

I saw his eyes dart down to my lips and I wondered if he wanted to kiss me again as much as I wanted to kiss him. As he leaned in to me, I caught my breath, but before he could place his lips on mine, there was a loud ripping sound from in front of us, and I heard screaming.

I quickly turned my head to see what was going on, and gasped when I saw what had just exploded through the movie screen.

It was a dragon, and it was about to barbecue the entire school.
