This part is small. I know. And I definitely need to fix my star dates and a few other things... heh.

I still don't know how to organise my paragraphs on here. I'm still trying to figure out how... This website confused me sometimes...

Reviews and help are welcome! :)

"Captain's starlog, 17th February 215X.

It's been three days now since we've recovered the shuttle pod from the distress call. Commander Trip and Lieutenant Reed have found a way to access the data recorder that we've found inside the shuttle pod but are now stumped by an encrypted password lock. Lieutenant Reed ensures me that he should be able to crack it by the end of the month. On another note, Doctor Phlox has notified me that the boy that we found in the shuttle pod is ready to be talked to. Phlox has also notified me that he is also non-verbal and the reason for that might be because of the trauma he's endured. I hope he's able to tell us how he got out here..."

Archer walked into sickbay followed closely by Malcom. Archer had asked T'Pol to not be involved with the 'first contact' just in case the boy hadn't seen any Vulcans before or if he had it would stir up any trouble.

The boy was sat on the examination bed, facing the door. His eyes looked like a deer's in the headlights of a car. His back was slightly hunched and he almost looked like he was in a defensive position.

He looked at Phlox as Archer and Malcom walked closer. Phlox have the boy a reassuring smile. A typical denobulian smile.

The boy gave Phlox a concerning look and Phlox walked away to give them all space.

"My name's Captain Johnathan Archer. This is my Tactical Officer, Malcom Reed. What's your name?"

The boy stayed silent, his gaze stuck on Malcom. After a few awkward seconds, he looks back at Archer. Archer looked back at Phlox. Phlox shrugged.

"We're wondering why and how you've managed to get out here.."

Archer gave Malcom a look. Malcom stopped talking.

The boy covered his mouth with one hand. Phlox spotted this and walked over to them.

"I'm sorry Captain. But he doesn't want to talk anymore."

"But..."

Phlox lifted up a hand to stop Archer.

Archer nodded. He understood. Maybe.

He looked over at Malcom, who was curiously looking at the boy, and then at the boy.

"We'll come back when you feel better..."

The boy shook his head again, keeping his hands over his mouth.

Malcom looked at Archer,

"I'll see you in a moment sir."

Archer looked at him quizzically but the determination on Malcom's face told him to follow orders. So he did, pulling Phlox with him to the far end of Sickbay.

"Do you know if he has family back on Earth?" Phlox shook his head.

"Anybody?" Archer sighed as Phlox shook his head again.

"There's not even a record of him, Captain. I've contacted Starfleet command to see if they can dig up any information about him that I can't access. But that'll take some time..."

"Of course." Archer responded.

Malcom looked at the boy and offered his hand. The boy gave him a look as he moved his hand down, from his face, onto his lap. Malcom chuckled.

Surprising Malcom, the boy gave a soft smile in return and signed a letter, T. Malcom looked confused, and not knowing what was signed.

"Captain, he's just signed something." Malcolm turned to his Captain.

"Oh, that's his name. It's a version of human sign language that you call 'BSL'. Honestly, that's the only information we're going to get until our friend here starts talking." Phlox spoke as he wandered, with Archer in tow, back to Malcom.

Archer was about to say something when Malcom spoke:

"Would it be okay, sir, if I took 'T' around the ship to help him get used to this environment?"

Archer looked at Phlox. Phlox looked at Archer and nodded.

Understanding the confirmation of the two officers, the boy stood up and started making his way to the door only stopping at the entrance to wait for the again surprised Malcom.

Both Archer and Malcom chuckles as they both follow T and start the tour of the Enterprise, bar the high security areas of course.
