Kurtis could recall the hurt expression on Adam's face. He recalled the warmth of the hug they shared. He recalled the Adam's eyes full of unshed tears.
It was going as Kurtis expected until Adam had spoken.
It was no hidden fact that, Kurtis secretly despised Adam. He remained with Adam because Adam had been his escape. Even at this moment, he felt a poetic justice as Adam would be unable to marry him.
"We shall go to war-" Adam declared full of rage. He rose the scepter and hit the bottom to the ground making a noise.
"You may have stood a chance had you joined the war at the beginning. At this moment you are only ensured defeat" Kurtis responded.
The silence made seconds feel like hours.
"I could not join the war for Niva Kurtis, you know this!" Adam raised his voice in anger. Adam's tribe when angry transformed to terrifying beasts. Adam had turned him away when Kurtis had begged and offered up his body in exchange for helping Niva.
"Because you wanted more of our land, your people were so fast to claim land we lost in our battle with the Kale" Kurtis stared at Adam as the being began to circle Kurtis.
"As beautiful as always. The intelligence is as annoying as always." Adam stared blankly at Kurtis.
"You would not go to war for my people but you would for me, what am I to you?" Kurtis asked, his eyes met Adam's. "What ails you in this loss? Me or the insult to your kingdom?" Adam stayed silent. Kurt knew the answer, it was the insult that would make Adam spur to start a war and turn Niva to a war zone again. The truth was Adam's people would be evenly matched with kale but Kurt knew Niva would be dispatched as shields and it would spell the end for his people.
"The heir we would have born. The Zazu have no magic but our union, we may bridge the gap" Adam smiled. "That and my misplaced feeling for you"
"Now, we will have no children" Kurt said dryly.
"If I take you, he will be unable to" Adam spoke as if he had it all figured out. The Nivans bonded once and could only conceive a child for their mate. They often had unique powers.
"They would massacre my people" Kurt responded.
"The same people who harass you?" Adam injected.
"Yet they remain my subjects" Kurt responded. Adam's skin began to change colour. Turning green, claws started growing and teeth became sharper.
"You will not be leaving here Kurt" Adam declared as he raised his scepter and used it to hit the floor as if making a decree. "Not until you let me fill you with my heirs"
The people of Niva may be peace loving and kind but one should not take their silence for weakness.
"I will not betray my people and leave them to perish, my parents sacrificed their lives for them. I shall marry this new prince and ensure their safety even if it kills me" tears fell from Kurt's third eye. While Kurt's other two cried blood.
"Guards!" Adam yelled out, the king's room slammed open, many beasts similar to Adam entered the room.
Kurt began speaking incantations. Suddenly Adam and his men saw themselves in a forest.
"A trance" Adam snapped.
"Had you helped us, we would be wed." Kurt snapped before reading out some incantation and disappearing.
Kurtis returned to the palace on time. The guards at the door were Kale, they opened the gates and bowed their head. A gesture Kurt had never received from said murders before now.
Kurtis hovered moving to his room in the servants section only to find it empty, a passing Nivan said she had seen Kale guards carry his stuff to the prince's room.
Kurtis sighed.
He showered and dressed in one of the clothes that had been left behind in the move. He left the room heading for the throne room to see the king and queen.
Two armed Kale soldiers stood at the door, they looked upset, eyes full of defiance as they bowed their head and opened the door.
Kurtis entered the throne room and fell to his knees before the King and Queen.
"Rise, after all you will give magic to Kalens!" The queen praised.
"Before that, how will you bring Darreniso back to us?" The king asked. Kurtis stared at the king who glared back.
"If I undo that magic, I shall die" Kurtis responded. The King stiffened before sitting back. "You may attempt to stir up his memory, I can holt the magic with little consequence."
"We will begin treatment immediately." The Queen said. "Guards bring Darreniso!" The men brought in the prince who was struggling until he saw Kurtis. He stared at the brunette with such intensity. The King sighed in irritation.
"My son would have been able to break free from the guards hold, why is he unable to use his powers." The king demanded to know. Kurtis bowed his head to the King who seemed enraged. The Kale valued strength and right now the prince was weak. Kurt needed two things, the prince to love him and for his people to be safe.
"If I may check him alone-" Kurtis began.
"The guards will leave but we will stay" The King snapped.
"Yes, your majesty" Kurtis began to strip till he stood naked. The prince's eyes seemed fixated on him and the thing between his legs had formed a bulged. Kurtis approached the prince and began to strip him down.
"What sort of none sense is this?" The queen demanded with red face.
"I am finding the hold on your son's powers and to do that we must hold each other in this circle" Kurtis responded, taking minutes to stare in confusion at the prince's nude form. He bent to the floor and bit his hand to draw blood.
"If you need blood use another's" The prince finally spoke. Anger filling him as Kurtis's finger dripped blood.
"It must be mine." Kurtis interjected, he sighed and continued to work ignoring the prince completely. The mate bond would spare his life, he just had to learn how to spare the others.
When Kurtis had drawn the magic circle on the floor he asked the prince to sit in the center. Kurtis stood from his kneeling position and it was obviously where the prince's eyes were fixated.
"You are very beautiful" The prince said.
Kurtis forced a smile and sat on the prince's lap and held unto him.
"What is this?" The King spoke but this time Kurtis ignored him and began speaking incantations.
Kurtis's body became more and more translucent. The king and queen watched in mild curiosity as Kurtis removed something from the prince's body. When it was out they felt a surge of power fill the room. The prince let out a loud scream which lasted a few seconds.
Kurtis kept holding unto the prince until he calmed down. The thing he removed was but a blockage and now the prince was at full power to do as he pleased.
"Darreniso-" The queen spoke.
"I would much rather go by Blaine." the prince responded. His eyes drifted from Kurtis lips to his nipples and finally landed on his own arms. He stared at his arm, most likely feeling the amount of power running through.
Kurtis stood the prince grabbed his hand. Kurtis looked down at the man trying to hide his anger and disgust. "I must redress, we stand before your parents less you forget". He released Kurtis arm, staring intensely, watching as he walked towards his discarded clothes to redress.
The prince began to wear his clothes too, trying hard to will down his erection.
The Kale were known for their super strength, regenerative ability, cruelty and their ability to fly without a ship.
The Kale were the strongest physically, they healed almost instantly and their only flaw would be fixed with the child he and the prince would have. They were susceptible to magic with little resistance. They could also be killed by removing their head and splitting the head in half or they may survive.
There was only one more clan that practiced magic and the Kale executed all but one. If they got magic, it would spell the end. With magic came the resistance to magic.
Kurt contemplated destroying his womb to ensure he would not give the Zazu or the Kale what they wanted.
"Prince, your mate will be here and in your bedroom he will not disappear. What do you remember" The Queen said, the prince turned to stare at her.
"I feel the urge to kill you, the king and everyone till the world remains only him and I." The prince said calmly, the king rolled his eyes as if the threat meant nothing. "I remember how to fight"
"Then we shall spare and I shall kill you if you are too weak" The King stood.
"Father let's head to the spar area-" The prince paused. "What am I saying?"
"You are beginning to remember our home" The king turned to Kurt. "I will not execute more of your people today. As it is a celebration!"
Kurtis opted to go to the bedroom rather than watch two monster's fight.
He sat on the couch before the tears began, he kept crying for hours. He wondered if he was on the right path, if he should have fought with Adam to try to free his people. He wondered why the Kale attacked and he wondered he had to bear the responsibility alone.
"The prince's mate, Nivan scum are here to see you" Kurtis heard the guard say through the door.
"Let them in" Kurtis responded. The door opened to three elders. One had an extra set of ears. The other had four eyes and the last one had two mouths.
"We greet you" They all bowed. Kurtis recalled the last time the met, they had been rude and disrespectful.
"What can I help you with?" Kurtis asked as his lips thinned into a line.
"You will be wed to the prince soon. We would like to establish a ruling council." One spoke. They wanted their power back, Kurt almost laughed.
"I have a question that I am yet to understand. Why did we go to war in the first place with the Kale?" Kurtis asked changing the subject. The man stayed silent for a moment.
"We are sworn to secrecy" The elder said as he averted his eyes.
"Then there shall be no ruling council, you lead us to destruction once and you may do that once more!" Kurtis snapped.
"That was your father!" The elder retorted.
"Araborn!" Another elder chastised.
"Tell me what happened" Kurt demanded. The elders stayed silent and stared at Kurt with blank expressions. "If you will not, this meeting is over."
"Kurtis you must-" Araborn spoke again but was cut off.
"My mate must not do anything but please me" The prince opened the door and cut into the conversation. "Leave before you all die" The elder hurried and left.
"You remember-?" Kurtis asked as the guards shut the door behind the prince.
"Somethings, not all. I would still like to go by Blaine, I want you to say my name, strip and get on the bed." Blaine responded.
"If I refuse, will you kill me?" Kurtis asked.
Blaine frowned looking pissed, Kurtis approached him and placed a hand on his cheek before kissing him. Kurtis pulled back from the kiss. "You can force me to do anything, but can you convince me submit to you or will you forever be using brute force?" Kurtis asked.
"Is this the challenge for me to prove myself worthy to be between your legs?" Blaine inquired.
"Would you play the game with me?" Kurtis asked. The kale liked wagers and games, they loved challenges as much as they loved bathing in the blood of their enemy.
"I had planned to take you by forced if I have to, however this seems like a better proposition." Blaine pulled away and sat down. "Draw up the terms and rules of this game"
Kurtis moved to sit beside Blaine. Blaine lifted Kurtis with no effort and put him on his lap. "I shall play your game but you will still have to please me with your mouth when I need it"
Blaine's fingers move to Kurtis's nipple.
"Seduce and submit are different things, you know my Kind cannot bond without me submitting. Without that, there shall be no bond" Kurt let out a breath of release when Blaine stopped touching his nipple.
"What is this nectar?" Blaine looked shocked as he started at his fingers covered in a clear jelly form. "It came from your nipple." Blaine lifted his finger to his mouth and the taste was delicious. Blaine started at Kurtis before licking his fingers clean.
"Its food for-" Kurtis was cut off.
"Taking you now seems a lot more appealing than your game." Blaine Responded.
"Taking me now means you are incapable and unworthy to bond with me." Kurtis replied.
Blaine stared at Kurtis, eyes filled with anger. Kale were monsters but not to their mates because they knew they had only one.
"I will play your stupid game, I will be back" Blaine said before raising a hand to his head. "Where am I? Why are you on my lap?"
Kurtis moved off Blaine's laps whose face was now red. Darreniso's personality and memories had split from what Kurtis could understand.
"What did I eat? What is this heavenly taste?" Blaine inquired. Kurtis blushed, he was not going to tell him that he had licked the milk Nivans produced. The jelly like substance had no taste to Niva so it was surprising that Blaine seemed to love it.
"It would seem your personality may have split" Kurtis said ignoring Blaine's questions.
"Split?" Blaine looked confused.
Kurtis sighed and moved to the bed to sleep, there was no point talking to this version as it would disappear soon after the prince's memory returns.
Kurtis's elbow met with Blaine's face on reflex when he felt teeth on his neck. It felt like hitting a wall as the prince barely flinched.
Kurtis scrambled off the bed.
Blaine had a smirk on his face, "Perhaps I should tell them about the flavor I tasted from your nipple. We can turn your people into cows and market their nectar"
"You try that and I will bite my tongue" Kurtis snapped.
"Where are the terms for your game?" Blaine asked.
"You switched out on me with your other personality" Kurtis responded.
"Yes, I am unable to stay as myself and I need you to fix me" Blaine responded.
"Your powers have brought back a part of your memory, I cannot restore all. I can merge your two personalities into one and merge your memories." Kurtis responded.
"Weakness is not tolerated for the Kale, that cannot be an option. If you merge him and I, I would become weak" Blaine responded.
"What does that mean?" Kurtis asked.
"It means, my father would kill me. The other me would be unable to fight and is unfit to be prince of kale" Blaine responded.
"Then why do you go by the name Blaine" Kurtis asked.
"You seem to have a look of fear in your eyes at the mention of my real name" Blaine said.
"Do you recall what started the war?" Kurtis asked. Blaine stayed silent for a moment he stood up and grabbed his sword he had left by the couch. Leaving Kurtis alone in the room. It seemed like everyone knew something he did not, he was going to find out.
He wanted to know what his parents gave their lives protecting, he wanted to weight if it really was worth the lives and destruction it cost.
Kurtis showered and dressed up rather fast, he left the room but one kale guard followed him around.
"May I help you?" Kurtis asked.
"Prince Darreniso has demanded I protect you" The guard responded.
"More like watch me so I do not escape" Kurt replied.
"And here I thought you were just a pretty face." The guard spat.
"I will be meeting with my friends" Kurtis replied. "You may do what you do best and guard the door" Kurtis replied before he continued his journey.
Just outside the palace, Rachelleamenterfim stood with a book in her hands. Her face lost colour as she saw the guard behind Kurtis. "Relax, he is just here to make sure I do not escape"
"What is his name?" Rachel asked.
"I did not care to ask, all kale guards look the same. Almost like background characters." Kurtis said loud enough for the guard to hear.
"What is your name?" Rachel asked the guard.
"Filthy Nivans. You may call me whatever you wish" He responded, voice filled with hatred.
"Drop the matter, tell me Rachel." Kurtis switched to communicating mentally with Rachael. 'What have you found out about the war?'
'Nothing, no body knows why the kale attacked or what they wanted and I have spoken to everyone' Rachel looked to the guard. 'Should we put him in a trance of his worst nightmares?'
Kurtis laughed.' I am trying to curry favor for our people. That may set us back quite a bit, even though he would deserve it'
"Disgusting" The guard grumbled.
"Are you referring to my mate?" The guard's face turned white as he saw Blaine approaching covered in blood.
"I meant the prince's mate's friend, she seems to be a bad influence and has done nothing but insult our people" The guard knelt on one knee and tried to explain. Blaine seemed to think about it and in a second his blade had decapitated the guard. Kurtis screamed moving back to avoid the blood, in the process he tripped and fell hitting his head on a stone.
Kurtis awoke with a headache, it felt like he had just shut his eyes but out of the window it looked to be evening.
It was then he noticed he was in a glass chamber.
