A.N.: I have terrible priorities
Mesmerizing
There was a particular way to how she moved in battle, Tsubasa realized, that made Chris mesmerizing to watch. Normally, she'd chastise herself for paying more attention to such unnecessary details in combat. But today in particular her habit of "Observation" has her eyes drawn almost magnetically to Chris. Fortunately for her, she'd already handled her side of the battlefield and cleared it of Noise and any other threats, so her eyes were free to roam as they pleased.
"Where they pleased" in this situation happened to be on Chris some short distance away, cleaning up the rest of the Noise in her sector. Usually, she'd be running towards her to assist her in taking care of the remaining threats, but today she was far too distracted with her eyes trailing all over Chris to think of it.
There was a certain grace to the rough and callous way Chris fought. Like a dance of bullets, explosions and sometimes an outburst of profanities spilling forth from the little white-haired firecracker's mouth. The acrobatic flips accompanied by volleys of gunfire, the fluttering of her twintails trailing behind her, the downright lewd way that her chest bounced from both the recoil of firing her weapons and her flashy dodges and jumps. Tsubasa had to calm herself with a breath, closing her eyes as she willed her mind to stop focusing on such things.
'What am I even thinking!? Calm yourself Tsubasa. Cease the immoral thoughts about Yukine. You are a sword, you are a sword, you are a sword…'
She was broken out of her mental mantra by the sound of something flying towards her. Instinctively, her eyes shot open and she fell into a battle stance, her sword halfway held up when she realized what was coming towards her.
"SENPAI! HEAD'S UP!" Chris flying towards her feet first. Tsubasa moved on reflex, shifting her sword to its larger form and raising it up to block, allowing Chris to use it as a springboard to flip backwards and over what remained of the Noise chasing after her, showering them with a fusillade of crossbow bolts that left them scattered, stunned and decimated. Tsubasa shifted her sword back to normal and followed up with a shout, dashing forward and bringing her sword around with a mighty swing that cleaved clean through what was left, stopping right behind the horde. She brought it to her side, making a sheathing motion as she muttered under her breath.
"This is the end…"
As if cut by a thousand blades all at once the Noise displayed slash marks all over their forms before falling apart, their decapitated pieces not lasting another second before they disintegrated into ashes. Releasing a breath, Tsubasa stood back up fully, watching the ash and dust of the Noise be blown away in the wind. A sound to her left alerted her to Chris landing next to her, a smug smile on her face.
"Impressive swordsmanship as always there, Senpai~" She said, cocking her hips to the side. She twirled her crossbows in her hands, walking past her with her hips swaying in a way that had Tsubasa's eyes glued to her rear. A traitorous little voice somewhere in the back of her head brought up her little mantra from earlier, a fire in its eyes as it shouted-
'AND THIS SWORD IS FULLY DRAAAAWWWN!'
As she mercilessly stamped down that traitorous voice in her head she thanked her lucky stars that Chris wasn't looking back at her, or she'd see the light dusting of pink on her cheeks and tease her to death.
"Now let's see if Hibiki and the others need help… ah- seems like they've already cleared their sectors" She said, staring off in the direction of where Hibiki had just finished lifting a massive Noise into the air to powerslam it into the ground in a surprise wrestling move that shook the ground. They could even feel it from where they stood.
With a shrug Chris transformed out of her gear, her normal clothes appearing on her person. Tsubasa had to actively hold in a whine of disappointment that threatened to leave her and hurriedly changed out of her gear as well. As the light from her transformation died down they were buffeted by the winds blown down by a helicopter flying overhead, landing some distance away. Chris turned back to Tsubasa, gesturing towards it. She almost didn't catch what she said, too caught up by the way the setting sun's light bathed her in an enchanting yellow and orange hue while her hair fluttered about her from the wind blown by the helicopter's passing.
"Let's get back to HQ and have a bit of a celebratory meal for a good day's work, eh Senpai?"
Tsubasa could only nod, getting a curious tilt of the head from Chris at her silence but nothing more than that as they left to meet up with the others.
Later as they sat in the helicopter bringing them back HQ, Tsubasa sat in deep thought as she tried to calm herself, failing in that as the sights of Chris mesmerizing form constantly assaulted her mind.
Crumbs
It was on a relatively peaceful day that found Chris and Tsubasa sitting down for a meal at a fast food restaurant downtown. Tsubasa sat next to Chris, watching the younger girl dig into a sizable meal with all the grace and élan of a particularly eager and hungry puppy. She paused from her eating, taking a moment to gulp down some cola before letting out a satisfied huff.
"Senpai, you really should've grabbed something to eat! What's the point of inviting me out to eat and not eating anything yourself?" She said, taking another bite out of her burger. Tsubasa just smiled, stirring the straw in her drink while shaking her head.
"I've already had my fill before I left to meet you so I'm fine. Just sit back and enjoy your meal, Yukine" She finished her sentence with a sip of her drink, resting her head on her other hand. Chris finished swallowing the bite she'd taken, shooting Tsubasa a pout.
"Suit yourself, more food for me then. Really Senpai I know you have to maintain a diet as an Idol but you need to give this stuff a shot for once!" Her piece said, she took another bite out of her burger, looking pleased as she ate. Tsubasa chuckled, taking another sip as she observed her shorter companion. While she wasn't as voracious or as big of an eater as Hibiki was, Chris still had a fairly large appetite with an equally messy way of eating. Some might've been put off by this, but Chris' type of messy eating was something the others found endearing more than anything.
Tsubasa, especially, found this so today. The way her cheeks bulged a little with every mouthful she ate, the happy, satisfied look on her face, the cheerful little hums she made with before each bite. It was such an infectious display of pure joy that Tsubasa couldn't help but smile seeing it.
Suddenly she noticed a stray smudge of ketchup that Chris forgot to wipe off the side of her mouth, already preparing to bite into her burger again before Tsubasa said something.
"Yukine, wait…" Chris stopped with her mouth wide open, looking at Tsubasa with a confused hum as she closed her mouth. Before she could stop herself Tsubasa raised a hand to gently wipe the ketchup off of Chris' face with her thumb, the white-haired girl's cheeks slowly getting redder and redder.
Feeling emboldened by this reaction and Chris' silence Tsubasa brought her thumb to her mouth, cleaning the ketchup off of it with a lick of her thumb and shooting a smile at Chris.
"Have some manners for once, silly Yukine~…"
Silence passed between them for a moment, their gazes held for a moment longer before Tsubasa looked away with a blush, stuttering an apology.
"S-sorry about that. I just… there was a stain and I- Yukine your nose is bleeding… Yukine? Yukine are you alright? Chris!?"
