26. Notice of Edits and Hiatus

I must bring some unfortunate news this time around, especially if you were looking forward to the next chapter. I have recently joined the Shield Hero Discord server and, from there, I learned of some rules that I unknowingly broke about writing half-way decent Shield Hero fanficitons.

The biggest rule I broke was the rule regarding Legendary Weapon Strengthening Methods. Going into this, I thought one could create methods based on the games the OC has played in the past (hence why I went with Reforging and Decorations). However, this is not how it works. In the later points of the LN, its revealed that the Strengthening Methods are DIRECTLY tied to the weapons themselves.

Because of this, unless you're making an ENTIRELY original Vassal Weapon or the like, you cannot make up new methods. As such, I've gone back through my entire story and edited any and all mentions of my methods into the official methods as best as I could. It might make it a bit awkward for me to keep going with the official methods, but I want to be as loyal to the source material as possible.

That leads me to the reason why this story is going on hiatus. If I want to be faithful to the original story, I need to read the Light Novel. As such, I will be putting the story on hold until I've given the light novel a thorough read up to the most recently translated volume.

I apologize to those who preferred how I was doing things before, but this is how I wish to do things. For everyone who stuck with me despite my failures, I thank you for trusting me with your time in reading this story. Here's hoping it'll be somewhat better after I've armed myself with more accurate knowledge.
