Straw Hat RWBYs

An: I hate info chapters like this. They're annoying to get done, but are a necessary evil. But anyway! Chapter two. I hope it's good!

And also, I'd like to point out that after this chapter, I'll be heading into an original arc, to help team RWBY get used to the craziness of One Piece villains. And I'd like to give credit to Nomadskout8 for the OCs that will appear in the arc.

Chapter Two- Stranded in a world of oceans! Team RWBY meets the Straw Hat Pirates!

When Ruby felt herself falling, she first thought she lost her footing.

But when she felt wind rush by her, she knew something was wrong. She looked down, and her eyes widened as she watched the rainbow mist dissipated and revealed nothing but blue water below her.

WAY, WAY below her!

She screamed in fright, and she wasn't the only one. Weiss screamed out as well as her brain caught up with the situation. Blake exclaimed loudly as well as she spun a bit in the air before she righted herself.

"WHOAWHOAWHOAWHOAWHOAWHOAWHOAWHOAWHOA!" Yang yelled as she too realized they were falling. "WHERE DID THE GROUND GO?!"

"I DON'T KNOW!" Ruby responded. "WHY ARE WE FALLING INTO THE OCEAN?!"

"THAT'S UNIMPORTANT RIGHT NOW!" Weiss shouted. "IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T NOTICED, WE ARE IN A CRISIS SITUATION HERE!"

"WE NEED TO ACT NOW OR ELSE WE'LL DIE FROM A FALL FROM THIS HEIGHT!" Blake shouted back in agreement with Weiss.

"BLAKE'S RIGHT! WE NEED TO BREAK OUR FALL!" Ruby yelled over the wind and brought Crescent Rose around and aimed. Just as she was about to fire, she noticed something through her scope. "THERE! LAND THERE! TWENTY DEGREES TO YANG'S LEFT!" she shouted.

"RIGHT/GOT IT!" her team shouted as Ruby spun around and fired several gravity rounds. The force of the gravity Dust propelled her towards the ocean below. Yang proceeded to fire rounds towards the ocean, stopping her acceleration for several brief periods, while Weiss created Glyphs to use as steppingstones. Blake did the same using her clones, as well as quickly using Weiss's Glyphs to break her fall further.

The water grew closer and closer, but Ruby held her focus. The object she spotted earlier was growing closer, so she flipped and fired Crescent Rose downward. The momentum stalled her descent for a moment. She fired a few more and quickly front flipped and landed on a wooden deck. Yang, Weiss, and Blake were only a few moments behind her.

The four looked to each other and grinned, glad that they were all ok.

But before they could regain their bearings, two loud shouts, one of terror and the other of excitement, rang out behind them, making them stiffen up. "Is that a scythe?!" two voices screamed out.

Team RWBY whirled around and brought their weapons up in a ready stance. They were met with the site of four people around their age. The only female had short orange hair and wore a blue and white striped shirt and short shorts.

The first male, who looked utterly terrified, wore brown overalls, and had curly black hair. His most prominent feature was his ridiculously long nose. The second male had a scar under his left eye and wore blue jeans rolled up to his knees and a red cardigan. A raggedy straw hat sat on his head. The last male was tall with short green hair and wore dark pants and boots with a green haramaki and white shirt. The most eye-catching feature, to Ruby at least, were the three swords at his waist.

Ruby shook her head. She couldn't be distracted by his weapons. "Who are you people?!" she demanded.

"We should be asking you that," the green haired one said, grasping his swords. "You did land on our ship, after all."

"Ship?" Weiss lowered her Myrtenaster and took in her surroundings, with Blake, Yang, and Ruby doing the same. Being as high on adrenaline as they were, they hadn't paid much attention to where they were landing.

Suddenly, the straw hatted teen was in front of him with sparkling eyes, startling the all-girl team. "Hey! You four!" he shouted abruptly. "Are you aliens?!"

Team RWBY stared at the boy incredulously. "W-What?!" Ruby asked.

"You know, aliens! Because you fell from the sky!" he explained, as if it was obvious.

Weiss, predictably, spluttered indignantly at the accusation. "We're not aliens, you buffoon!" she snapped, stamping her foot on the deck. "Do we honestly look like aliens to you?!"

He blinked at them. "Huh. Yeah, I guess not! Shishishishishishishi!" he answered easily, an easy going smile on his face.

"Well, if you're not aliens, why are you falling from the sky?" the long-nosed teen asked.

"I wish we knew," Ruby told him. "We just completed a school assignment when suddenly we were caught in an earthquake, then the sky opened up, and we were falling!"

The four teens in front of her looked confused for some reason, but the girl seemed to think of something, because she immediately came forward, eyes wide, and stood next to the scarred teen and asked, "Wait! The sky opening up, did some sort of rainbow-colored mist fall out of it?"

Their eye's widened. "Yeah, how did you know?" Blake asked.

"Because, we just watched the same thing!" the girl exclaimed, to team RWBY's shock.

"Wait! You did?!" Yang asked.

"Yeah!" the straw hat wearer exclaimed, reentering the conversation. "It was totally awesome! Did you do that?!"

Before Weiss could shout at the teen again, the girl slammed her fist into Straw Hat's head. "Of course, they didn't, you idiot! They just said they got caught up in it!" she yelled out. She recovered quickly and sighed in exasperation. She turned to the all-girl team and smiled. "Sorry about him. He's just like that. I'm Nami, by the way," she said, introducing herself. "This idiot is Luffy."

"Hi!" Luffy said, waving.

"The long nosed one is Usopp," Nami continued. Usopp simply raised his hand and smiled.

"H-Hello there!"

"And the scary one over there is Zoro," she finished.

"Witch," Zoro muttered.

Nami ignored him and asked for their names. This restarted Ruby, as she shook her head and said, "Huh? O-Oh yeah! I-I'm Ruby. Ruby Rose!"

"And I'm Yang Xiao Long," Yang introduced. "Ruby's older sister!"

"Eh? But you two look nothing alike!" Usopp commented. He quickly backtracked and said, "U-Uh, no offense!" Yang and Ruby didn't look offended.

"No biggie. We get that all the time," Yang informed, shrugging. "We're half-sisters."

"O-Oh, ok."

Blake walked up next, her posture tense and her expression guarded. "My name is Blake Belladonna," she spoke.

Zoro raised an eyebrow at her, noting her bow twitched for a moment, but he didn't pry. "Nice to meet you," he said back. "You and your white-haired friend are swordswomen, I take it?" Blake regarded him carefully.

"I suppose you could call us that," Blake responded. "Sound right, Weiss?" The heiress huffed.

"I'd be offended if he called me anything less!" she said, swinging her ponytail to the side. "I'm Weiss Schnee, a pleasure," she continued with a curtsy. Zoro nodded to them, a small grin crossing his face.

He'd have to ask for a spar later to see if they were any good with those swords.

But that could wait. Right now, however, they had a bit of a problem. One it seemed Ruby wanted to resolve. "Soooo," she drawled out. "I'm still confused. How did we land here, and was the rip in the sky responsible?" She looked really confused as she finished her question.

Nami grimaced, just as confused. "To be honest, I don't know," she admitted. "I've heard some crazy tales before, but that took the cake."

"You're telling me," Weiss groaned as she pulled out her Scroll. She frowned at it. "That's odd…"

"What's odd, Weiss?" Yang asked.

"I don't have a signal," she answered. Yang pulled out her Scroll and held it high.

"Yeah, I don't either," the blonde announced. Blake and Ruby looked at each other and pulled out their own Scrolls.

"Dang it," Blake muttered. "We must be pretty far from the mainland if we can't get a signal out here."

Ruby held her Scroll high and turned around, trying to find some sort of connection. She let out a tiny whine. "This doesn't look good," she said.

The four occupants of the Going Merry looked at each other in confusion. Luffy, however, decided to take initiative and walked over to Ruby and asked, "What's that?"

"Huh? You mean my Scroll?" Ruby asked, holding up her Scroll for him to see. Luffy let out a noise of excitement and snatched it out of her hands.

"Heeey!"

"Nami! Nami look!" Luffy cried, holding the device in front of the navigator's face. "Look at this thing!"

Nami waved him away. "Luffy! That was really rude!" she reprimanded him, but he didn't seem to care as he held up the device to her face again. She snatched it from his grasp and examined it. "You called this a Scroll, right Ruby?" she asked. "What does it do?" Ruby looked confused by the question.

"Uh…you don't know…?" Ruby asked uncertainly.

This caused Nami to look confused as well. "Should I…?" she asked.

"How could you not?!" Weiss snapped. "It's only the latest technology!"

"Latest? Don't be ridiculous!" Usopp scoffed. "I'm kind of a techie myself, and I can say without any shred of doubt, I've never seen anything like that!"

"Really?" Zoro asked the sniper.

"Yes really! I may be a liar, but there are some things even I don't lie about!" Usopp protested.

"Have you lot been living under a rock?!" Weiss hissed.

"Hey!" Usopp shouted back.

"Weiss!" Ruby said forcibly. Weiss frowned at her team leader, but she otherwise backed off, though she was still glaring. Ruby turned to the five and gave them an uneasy smile. "Sorry about that," she said. "As you can probably guess, we're…kind of a little bit on edge…"

"Understandable," Nami commented. They did just fall from the sky after all. "How about we go in the longue and get you girls something to drink and sit down? You're probably exhausted."

"Y-Yeah," Ruby agreed. She noticed the sky getting darker and commented, "And it looks like it's about to be dark out here."

"Yeah, I doubt we'll be able to get you home tonight," Nami commented. "A night with us and hopefully within the next day or so, we can drop you off at the next island."

Ruby nodded at that. "Sounds like a plan. Right girls?" Yang and Blake nodded. Ruby then turned to her partner.

"Weiss, what about you-"

"Uh, Ruby…" Weiss looked pale, staring wide eyed at the sky.

"Uuuhh…what's wrong?"

"T-That…"

Ruby, Yang, and Blake looked up to where their teammate was pointing and suddenly realized what was wrong. Their own eyes opened impossibly wide as they took in a single, unbroken moon in-between two larger moons, one waning and the other waxing. The all-girl team stared numbly at the sight before them.

The four pirates grew concerned by their silence. "Uh…ladies?" Usopp tried. "I-Is something wrong?"

"W-W-W-What the hell's that?!" Yang shouted, pointing at the sky. Zoro raised an eyebrow and turned slightly.

"You mean the moons?" he asked.

"No. I'm talking about the talking Grimm on the other side of the shi-OF COURSE I'M TALKING ABOUT THE MOONS! WHY THE HELL ARE THERE THREE MOONS?!" Yang raved, her eyes turning red with fury.

"What are you talking about?" he asked again, confused. "I mean, yeah, we don't see 'em all that often, but it's not weird to have those three hanging in the sky."

"There's not supposed to be three moons in the sky!" Blake protested.

"Are you an idiot?" Luffy asked. "Even I know there's six moons!" Team RWBY was stunned again by that revelation.

"S-S-Six m-moons…?" Weiss stammered. "T-There's only supposed to be one, you dolt! And it's supposed to be shattered!"

"Where the hell is your island located that you don't know such basic information?!" Nami shouted back.

"G-Guys…" Weiss, Blake, and Yang turned to their leader, who had dropped to her knees. "I don't feel so good…"

The girls immediately rush their leader, Yang frantically checking her sister's temperature, while Blake rubbed her back as Weiss fanned her. The Straw Hats looked at each other and grimaced, completely and utterly lost. Finally, Nami decided to try and reestablish contact with them.

"Uh, is everything alright?" she asked hesitantly.

"No," came a croaked reply. Everyone turned to the speaker, who happened to be a pale faced Ruby. "I don't think we're on Remnant anymore."

"Remnant? Is that the name of your island?" Nami asked, not having heard of that island.

"It's not an island," Blake explained. "It's the name of our world." Turning back to Ruby, she continued, "And Ruby, what makes you think such a thing?"

Ruby turned to Blake, her pale visage deadpanning. "There are THREE moons in the sky, and they've just said there's more," she said.

"That doesn't constitute as conclusive evidence!"

"Then how about the freaking hole in the sky?!" Ruby countered. "The rainbow mist stuff falling out of it?! Blake, I know it's far-fetched, but seriously, what else makes sense?!"

"Wait! You're actually claiming we've…fallen into another world or something?!" Weiss asked incredulously.

"What else makes sense?!" Ruby repeated shrilly. She jumped to her feet, despite Yang's reprimands. "Come on, Weiss! Tell me something that makes sense! They've never seen Scrolls! There's SIX moons, three of which are NOT broken, and that stupid hole in the sky! Rationalize that and explain to me how it makes sense we're still on Remnant!"

Weiss tried to protest. She really did. However, despite how ridiculous her claim was, the heiress couldn't find herself disagreeing with her leader. Her mouth opened and closed several times as she allowed the reality of their situation sink in. Yang tried her best to stay strong, but her distress was plain to see as Ruby was. Her face was pinched in confusion and disbelief. Blake hung her head, her whole form shaking as she forcibly clenched her fists.

Meanwhile, the Straw Hats were beginning to question their sanity. "Another world?" Usopp mused in question. "Seriously?"

"I think they've lost it," Zoro stated bluntly.

"I mean, another world is a bit farfetched," the long-nosed teen agreed offhandedly.

"They're telling the truth." The other three blinked at the statement from their captain. They turned to him and noticed an uncharacteristically serious look on his face.

"Luffy, they're insane," Usopp tried to reason with his friend. "Come on man! It's impossi-"

"They're not lying, Usopp," Luffy interrupted.

"How can you possibly know that?" Zoro asked sharply.

"You can't fake grief like that."

Nami's eyes widened as she faced the four strangers again. She took in their despondent expressions, and her mind went back to Belle-mere's final moments before she shook her head of such thoughts. In that brief moment, she agreed with the errant pirate captain: at a certain point, you just couldn't fake grief.

Usopp thought Luffy had lost it until he turned back to the mysterious girls and suddenly thought of his own sorrow when his mother passed away. He frowned dejectedly at the thought, thinking his new friend might have a point.

Zoro grimaced as thoughts of Kuina rushed to his mind before he ruthlessly shoved them away. He sighed loudly and commented, "Fine, fine! I'll trust you on this Luffy. Now, how about we take this inside? Sun's going down."

This caused the girls to snap back to reality. Ruby spluttered for a moment before she answered, "S-Sure thing! Inside, right!" Nami decided to take initiative and motioned for them to follow her after returning Ruby's Scroll. The four nodded and followed the four pirates up the deck and into the longue area. Weiss scrutinized the common area. It was modest, if Spartan, with just a long table with benches around it, and…

"Is that a sink?" Weiss asked in bemusement. "And…an oven and a refrigerator?" Ruby, Yang, and Blake also noticed that and couldn't help but be confused as well.

"Yeah, why?" Usopp asked.

"N-Nothing. Just…wondering how that works on such an antique ship."

"The Merry is not an antique!" Usopp shouted indignantly, startling them. "Kaya's butler, Merry, only just made her maybe a few months ago, at best!"

Weiss leaned back, shocked by the outburst. "I didn't mean anything by it!" she said quickly. "But back on Remnant, most ships are made with steel or fiberglass! A ship like this is…" She paused, trying to think of the right words. "…old fashioned? Compared to what we're used to."

"Yeah!" Ruby interjected helpfully. When Usopp turned to her, she lost a bit of confidence. "N-Not that your ship isn't awesome! It is!" she said quickly. Nami chuckled.

"It's fine, Ruby," she told the silver eyed teen. "He's just a bit protective of this ship since it was a gift from his girlfriend!" Usopp spluttered at the accusation, while Ruby and Yang snickered at him.

Blake, while feeling some amusement at Usopp's expense, was more amused by something else. "A butler named Merry names his ship Merry?" she asked slyly. The sniper sobered up and chuckled a bit.

"Yeah, even I can see the irony there," Usopp conceded.

"Oi." Everyone turned to Zoro, who was setting out some cups from the cupboard. "We going to talk about the elephant in the room or not?" he asked irritably.

"Oh, right!" With that, Nami directed the all-girl team to the table as Zoro began pouring them some water. Ruby smiled gratefully and took a sip as she sat down. Her team followed her lead as Nami, Usopp, and Luffy took up spots on the other side with Zoro.

For a few minutes, no one said anything. Finally, Nami cleared her throat and stated, "Soooo, this is kind of awkward." Ruby nodded at that.

"You're telling me," she groaned.

"So, how are we going to start this?" Blake asked. "We've…all seemed to agree we're not from…this world, but I'd like some more evidence."

Nami nodded at that. "Agreed. I'd like some more information, as well. So, you mentioned you only have one moon and not six? And it's broken? How did that happen?"

Blake nodded at that. "Yes. We only have one moon," she confirmed. "And no one knows. Most of our history is…spotty before the Great War."

"You've actually been in a war?!" Usopp asked.

"No. It's been about eighty years since the Great War. But, it's not really relevant to our current topic."

"Oh. Ok."

"Do you have a map?" Ruby asked, deciding to pitch in, as well. "I think I have a map of Remnant on my Scroll, and we can share that."

Nami brightened at that. "Sure! One second!" She hopped up and raced out of the longue, to team RWBY's confusion. She returned a few moments later with a rolled-up sheet. She gave off a brilliant smile and rolled out the map for them to see. "Here we are! One map!"

Ruby, Weiss, Yang, and Blake leaned forward and examined the map. Their faces scrunched up at it. "Whelp, looks as if we ain't in Vale anymore, Totem," Yang said solemnly.

"Really, Yang? You had to use that reference?" Weiss asked irritably. The situation was stressful enough without her adding to it.

"Well, sorry if my coping mechanisms aren't to your liking!" the blonde replied, a bit snippy.

"Girls," Ruby mumbled without looking at them. She stared down at the map and frowned. "You," she muttered before looking up at Nami. "…don't have continents. Only islands."

Nami nodded. "Yep, unless you want to call the Red Line a continent. So, your world has continents?"

"Yeah," Blake confirmed, nodding as Ruby fished out her Scroll and pulled up the map of Remnant. Setting it on the table, she pressed a button, allowing the map to appear above them as a hologram. The Straw Hats gasped at the display.

"WHOOOA! Check it out! It's a ghost map!" Luffy shouted.

"It's not a ghost, you dunce!" Weiss shouted back. "It's a hologram. It's a three-D projection of a map made from projected light!"

"Aaah!" Luffy smiled and placed a right fist into his left palm. "So, it's a mystery map!"

Weiss snarled. "It's not that either, you idiot!"

The other Straw Hats ignored their dimwitted captain in order to marvel at the technology shown. "Oh, my, gosh!" Usopp exclaimed. "T-This is amazing! You called this a hologram?! How does it work?! Your world is much more advanced than ours!"

Ruby snorted. "This is nothing! Just a bit of standard features on any given Scroll. I've read there's some experimental tech that can create hard light copies of things!"

"Hard light copies? What are those?" Usopp asked.

"Physical holograms, basically," Ruby explained. "You can actually touch them and interact with them."

The techie in Usopp was over the moon. "Oh wooowww! Your world's tech sounds amazing!"

Nami was impressed by the technology too, but she soon became fascinated by the geography of Remnant. "I've never seen a map with so much land!" she breathed in astonishment. "And the map itself is superb! The topography and geometry are top notch!"

Blake raised an eyebrow as she listened to Nami rattle off more about the map. "You certainly know a lot about maps," she concluded.

"Of course! What kind of navigator would I be if couldn't read a map?!" Nami boasted with a wide grin. "Is this map accurate? I mean, is this depicting your world in its entirety?"

Blake nodded. "It is."

Nami's smile turned wistful. "Wow. A legitimate world map," she breathed. "I can't wait to make one myself!"

"Don't you have one already?" Yang asked.

"Well, yeah, but it's not really complete," Nami explained. "See that stretch of water running perpendicular to the Red Line here? That's the Grand Line, the most dangerous sea in the world. Only one person has ever conquered it, and even fewer have ever succeeded in mapping it out." She grinned again. "And I'm going to be the first to do it!"

Ruby turned to Nami and stared wide eyed at her. "Really?! Only one person?" she asked.

"That's right!" team RWBY was startled when Luffy reentered the conversation. "The Pirate King! He sailed the Grand Line all the way to the end and obtained everything the world had to offer!"

Ruby and Yang immediately gained stars in their eyes, thoughts of swashbuckling pirates from movies rushed to the forefront of their minds. "Really?! A pirate king?! You have a pirate king?!" Ruby asked childishly.

"Yeah!" Luffy said, eyes closing while grinning widely.

Weiss scoffed. "Seriously? Pirates? The scoundrels of the sea?" she asked in disdain. "You have pirates here too?"

Nami grimaced. "Unfortunately," she grumbled, not sure if she should say anything about Luffy. She didn't like pirates, but, despite her best efforts, Luffy had grown on her.

She wasn't sure she wanted these girls to hate Luffy simply because he was pirate.

"Oh, come on, Weiss! Pirates are cool!" Yang told her. "Haven't you ever watched Buccaneers of the Gulf?!"

"Why would I ever watch such a ridiculous attempt to glorify piracy?!"

"What's wrong with being a pirate?" Luffy asked. Weiss turned to him and glared.

"Pirates cruel marauders who raid and pillage every village and ship they come across, and then kill innocent people for mere enjoyment!" she told him.

"Not all pirates are like that!" Luffy protested.

"Are you touched in the head?! I just gave you the definition of a pirate a second ago!"

"Those are bad pirates! They give us good pirates a bad name!" Luffy defended.

"There's no such thing as-Wait a second. Did you say 'us?'" Weiss asked suspiciously.

Ruby, Blake, and Yang stared at the four, wide eyed as they too came to the same conclusion.

"Hm? Oh, yeah. We didn't tell you yet." Luffy smiled at the all-girl team. "We're pirates!"

Team RWBY was silent for all of three seconds. On the fourth second, what Luffy said finally registered in their minds. At the fifth second, they screamed:

"EEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH?!"

An: I had to cut this right here because the chapter was already longer than I wanted it to be, and I wanted it done by my two-week deadline. But I hope you enjoyed this chapter; next one the action begins!

Next chapter will come out some time in early September. I've got some other things and stories to work on first. So, until next time!
