Chapter Thirty
Roya had gotten up bright and early again to go running with Jonathan and Joshua. This time the three of them went to the gym together. The guys were working out with Joe and Colby, while Roya was with Olivia and Xiomara. The two of them went through various exercises with her and some drills in the ring. Olivia tossed Roya and Xiomara a bottle of water as she sat on the turnbuckle. Xiomara took a seat next to Roya on the mat.
"You are really getting better at this, luv." Xiomara commented as she took a sip of her water
"Appreciate that. I mean I do have great teachers after all." Roya smiled
"I'm curious what the Uso's have been "teaching" you at home." Olivia smirked
"What?" Roya asked innocently
"Don't be coy, we saw the marks on your neck." Xiomara replied. Roya sighed as she adjusted her long sleeve Uso Crazy shirt, she tried to hide the marks Joshua left on her from last night but once again it was a failure.
"You are a snack to them." Olivia laughed as she looked over towards the guys. As usual Colby was throwing glances at Xiomara, she wondered when he would shoot his shot with her. Everyone knew he had the hots for her but because Xiomara was technically lesbian, she knew his chances were slim. But she did mention there was a five percent chance that she could be attracted to a man. Maybe Colby was that man. The twins were talking with Joe when suddenly Jonathan looked at Roya and smiled. Innocent at first but the smile was followed by him licking his lips. Roya blushed and turned away.
"Y'all nasty." Olivia commented as she looked around the gym. Just as she was about to climb off the turnbuckle, her eyes landed on Alicia Foxx and Paige. The two of them were looking in the guys' direction and talking. Olivia noticed how Alicia glanced at Jonathan and then made her way over to him, "This won't be good."
"What's wrong?" Roya asked as she turned back to Jonathan's direction. She narrowed her eyes as Alicia was flirting with him. Jonathan tried to be nice as Alicia playfully grabbed his arm and tried to run her hand through his ponytail.
"She's a brave one." Xiomara commented
"She's about to be a bald one." Roya stated as she was about to climb out the ring and walk over. Olivia quickly hopped down from the turnbuckle and grabbed her.
"Chill, Jonathan's a big boy. He can handle her." Olivia said as she held Roya's arm
"She apparently doesn't know how to take a no for an answer. I just want to make sure she understands." Roya continued to try and make her way over.
"Why are you so strong for such a little person?" Olivia said as her six foot frame was actually struggling to hold her back.
"Jon's got it handled," Xiomara commented as they watched Jonathan turn Alicia's advances down. They could tell she was annoyed as she walked back over to Paige. Olivia let go of Roya's arm as they all then made their way out of the ring. Jonathan and Joshua walked over to Roya. Jonathan suddenly bent down and gently kissed her. It was quick but caught her off guard as the three of them agreed to not show any public displays of affection around people who didn't know about their relationship. Roya could feel Alicia's eyes burning over her. When Jonathan pulled away, he sighed.
"Hopefully she got the message now." Joshua commented
"Otherwise I may just have to go down on you in the middle of the ring," Jonathan paused as a thought crossed his mind, "That's actually..."
"No! You damn pervert." Roya groaned
"My bad." Jonathan laughed
"You sure are a freaky lot." Xiomara commented
"Ayye." Jonathan laughed
"Well if she doesn't get the message, I can gladly help her understand." Roya said
"Meow!" Joshua said
"I am certain you could take her with your inhuman strength." Jonathan said
"Facts! Why the hell is she so strong at 5'1." Olivia teased
"She has the strength of five hundred angry Dominicans." Joshua commented as Roya playfully slapped his arm
They all continued to hang out around the ring, eventually Joe and Colby made their way over to them and joined in on their conversations. After a bit, Xio and Colby announced that they were going to grab something to eat. As they left, the rest of the group exchanged knowing looks.
"Play playa." Jonathan commented
"He is really working that five percent chance." Roya smiled
"Oh yeah, Colby is a determined man and he is definitely smitten by Xio." Joe added
"Aww Colby." Olivia said
As time passed, they all decided to call it a day. Roya walked away to pack her gym stuff, Jonathan quickly whispered to Joe and Olivia, "Roya's birthday is in a few weeks and we wanted to start planning something."
"How sweet," Olivia smiled, "Of course I will help. I'll see if I can gather some more friends."
Joe coughed, "I should be free, cough cough."
"Yes, we know it's around your birthday too." Jonathan stated
"Big baby, "my birthday is before Ro's," just like when we were kids." Joshua commented
"Hey." Joe laughed, "Either way of course I will help, if I'm not preoccupied."
"Bet." Jonathan said as Roya walked back over to them and they stopped talking
"What's up with you guys?" Roya asked
"Nothing," Joshua smiled, "Ready?"
"Yeah." Roya replied as they all said their goodbyes and went their separate ways.
Now relaxing at home, Roya and the guys were lounging around the living room as they watched some movies. Roya had her head on Jonathan's lap as Joshua was curled up against her legs. She glanced up at Jonathan as he seemed to have something on his mind.
"You okay Jon?" she asked as she broke him out of his thoughts. Jonathan smiled and started to play with her hair.
"I'm good just wondering if kissing you in front of Alicia was a good idea. If she even thinks that you are an "interest" to me, I can only imagine who else on the roster will know. Granted I should have considered that before trying to make a statement." he replied
"What's done is done. I mean we both know Alicia, she probably is investigating the shit out of Roya as we speak. Searching for all types of clues and asking around." Joshua commented
"I just wish we could reach a point where I could tell anyone, "hey this is my girlfriend Roya, who is also my brother's girlfriend. And we love each other" and not have it be weird." Jonathan replied
"That's been on my mind as well, I honestly want to be able to walk outside and not have to be mindful of how I interact with you, Roya." Joshua commented
"I would love it if I could walk around holding both your hands and scream at the top of my lungs, "I am in love with Jonathan and Joshua Fatu" but I know no one would understand it." Roya added
"Personally, I think I could deal with other people looking at us weird but..." Jonathan started
"Family and friends." Joshua sighed
"Yeah." Jonathan said. It was something that they all feared, they didn't expect anyone to accept their relationship nor understand it, but if their family and close friends didn't approve of what they were doing, it would break their hearts.
"My mom would kill me." Roya sighed
"Dad would destroy us and I don't want to think what your mom would do to us." Joshua said
"Kishi would be so mad at me." Roya said
"At least you would be alive," Jonathan tried to brighten the mood, "That man loves you. He would think we forced you into this and defend your honor by killing us."
"Okay, enough depressing shit for the night, " Joshua paused, "With your birthday coming up, what would you like Roya?"
"We want to make sure that you have everything that we can possibly give you." Jonathan added
Roya thought over the question, she had forgotten about her birthday with her focus being on training and preparing for the tryouts.
"Honestly," Roya smiled, "I can't think of what I want. You guys alone are the best gift I could have this year. For the longest time, I just wanted to be with someone that made me happy, genuinely happy. Someone that accepted me, respected me, loved me and understood me. All this time, you two were exactly what I wanted. I have always loved you guys. Since we were kids, I never wanted there to be a time when you weren't in my life. And now you guys mean so much more to me."
Joshua sat up and looked at her, even Jonathan was staring at her.
"What?" Roya asked confused as she sat up from Jonathan's lap
"...It's just," Jonathan started as Roya noticed that his eyes looked a little watery
"Are you crying?" she asked
"No! Some dust got in my eyes..." Jonathan replied as he fixed himself, "But, hey...this is exactly why we love you,"
He leaned over and kissed her, "You mean so much to us."
Looking at Joshua, he was sniffling a little.
"Stop it, I'm going to cry! You know I'm weak about stuff like this." Roya complained
"You the one putting us all in the feels right now and you're saying don't make you cry?" Jonathan teased as he leaned over and kissed her, "But I will say this, words can't even describe what you mean to us. The love we have for you is beyond anything we could ask for."
Soon Roya felt the tears start to weigh on her eyes.
"When I look back at everything, I realized the exact moment I started having feelings for you," Joshua started as he reached out for her hand," When we were thirteen, I remember we were playing in the living room. You had me in a headlock and then I flipped you over. Just as I was getting up, we came face to face and I nearly kissed you. Being kids I didn't think much of it but I wanted to kiss you. I ignored it for a bit but then when we were sixteen these thoughts of you being more than just "Roya" my friend started growing. I saw you as this pretty girl, even when I had girlfriends, you still crossed my mind. Hell, remember when Jennifer White was studying with us and we went into Jeremiah's room, I had a perfect chance with her but I wished that you were in that room with me instead. Final turning point was when I had my wisdom teeth pulled out Freshman year of college and I was doped up with meds, I kept saying..."
"She's so pretty, I want to tell her she's so pretty! I want to kiss her and hug her all day," Roya smiled as she remembered that day, "I thought you were talking about Jennifer."
"I played it off like I was. Those drugs nearly gave me away." Joshua said, "But the feelings just kept growing. And here we are."
"Josh." Roya smiled as she kissed him
"Since we are being all lovey dovie," Jonathan playfully sighed, "It's small but it still means something to me. When we first met you, I believe we were eight or nine and you were hiding behind your dad when you saw us because you thought we were evil trolls."
"Oh my god," Roya laughed, "I had never seen twins before in person and was obsessed with magical stuff. Man, I wasn't a bright kid."
"You were adorable, it's weird but seeing you hide behind your dad is even to this day the cutest thing I have ever seen. Your little pigtails, big glasses, bright eyes, squeaky shoes and Winnie the Pooh sweater. Then when you finally walked up to us, you grabbed both our faces to see if we were real. And you even slapped Josh's arm to see if I felt it." Jonathan continued
"And Josh told me I was weird." Roya remembered as they all laughed, "How do you even remember that?"
"Some things you just don't forget," Jonathan smiled, "You became our best friend that day. You were one of the few kids that could tell us apart. I remember when I got in trouble in 5th grade and they thought Josh did it. I would have gotten away with it BUT you came out of nowhere and told everyone "That's not Jon!" I was so mad at you." Jonathan said as Roya and Joshua laughed
"You weren't slick! Fake ass twin magic." Roya teased
"You were always just one of us, it was Jon, Josh and Roya. It wasn't until your fifteenth birthday that I saw you as an actual "girl". Up until then you were just this awesome friend that was like a sister to me. That day your mom dressed you up for your Quinceañera, your hair was in these big curls. makeup was done and your dress was beautiful. That was the first time I thought damn Roya is gorgeous; but I downplayed it for a bit. Then when you had your first heartbreak, Eric Watson, I remember you came home crying. I went to your room and comforted you. Just holding you, it felt different and I realized I liked it a lot. The deal was sealed when we were eighteen and had that Valentine's Day dance for Senior year. Josh and I had dates but yours was MIA. So I told my date that I was going to dance with you. At first it was cool but we kept dancing and goofing around. I knew at that moment, I wanted you to be more than just my best friend." Jonathan said
"That was one of the best nights of my life." Roya smiled
"...I think we should confess to something, since we are strolling down memory lane," Joshua started as Jonathan had a heavy sigh, "Kevin wasn't MIA at first for the Valentine's Day dance."
"What the shit did you two do?" Roya asked as she narrowed her eyes at him
" See what had happened was..." Jonathan paused
"...While we were in the bathroom, we overheard Kevin talking about how he only asked you out because you had a fat ass and he wanted to smash. So I smashed his face against a wall." Joshua stated
"And I told him if he even attempted to try anything, he wouldn't make it to graduation." Jonathan added
Roya shook her head at them, "Any other confessions you two would like to admit?"
"I broke Eric Watson's nose during basketball practice on purpose. Everyone thought Matthew Williams did it, so I went along with it." Joshua sighed
"I personally installed fear into Michael Smith during Sophomore year of college." Jonathan admitted
"You're the reason he wouldn't talk to me?!" Roya commented
"Yup and I have no regrets." Jonathan laughed
"Anything else?" Roya asked
"Nope." they both said at the same time. She was suspicious of them but left it alone
"I'm surprised that you ever lost your virginity with us in the picture. The dude must have been an Avenger." Joshua said
"Who was it anyway?" Joshua teased
Roya's pulse started to race, "Still not telling you two." she replied
"Why? Was it that bad?" Jonathan laughed
"No he was great." she smirked
"I will find out one day." Jonathan smirked
"Enough of that, since you guys were so honest with me I feel I should say when I started feeling something different for you guys." Roya started, "I also remember when we first met. I remember being so fascinated by you two being twins. Since I was an only child, I sometimes wondered what it would be like having another me to play with. I also thought you two were adorable and mischievous. It was always easy to tell you apart even when you tried to fool me. I remember one day when we were kids, Jon made me cry because I wasn't playing a game right, then Josh, you tackled him and put him in a headlock for it. At that moment you two became the brothers I always wanted. Someone to fight with and protect me at the same time. For Jon, I started seeing you as a "guy" instead of the annoying brother when we were fifteen and Derek Wilson called me Chunky Roro and made me cry in class. You unleashed the rage of a hundred Samoans on him and made him apologize. Then when you walked away, you grabbed my hand and asked if I was okay. While walking out of the class, it felt so different holding your hand. It was like butterflies, I felt warm and safe. That moment changed how I looked at you. And then I knew I definitely liked you when one day during the time that you were dating Ashley Marques and I saw you kiss her outside the house. I felt this intense gross feeling in my stomach. At first I thought it was because eww my "brother" is kissing a girl but it was jealousy. I wanted to be Ashley."
Jonathan smiled, he wanted it to be her instead of Ashley too. All this time they liked each other but were too blind and scared to do anything about it.
"I started seeing you, Josh, as more than just the protective brother when we were fifteen and went to go see Scream 3. I was scared shitless and expected Jon to be an asshole and scare me, but instead you jumped out from behind a door and almost gave me a heart attack. You laughed then grabbed my arms to calm me down. I wanted to beat the hell out of you yet when you smiled and put a hand on cheek, all I could think was wow, Josh is pretty handsome." Roya stated
"D'aww, I remember that day. You were so adorable when you got scared." Joshua smiled
"My feelings became official in Junior year of high school when I was in gym and fractured my ankle. You left History class when you heard what happened and rushed to the gym. You were so worried, you picked me up on your back and carried me all the way to the principal's office. It was strange, while I held onto you all I could think about was how strong and protective you were. Also how nice you smelled. I remember you checking my ankle and I got nervous when you touched my leg. I had never been nervous with you touching me but that time was different." Roya smiled
"All these damn years, we liked each other and it took us more than a decade to do anything about it." Joshua sighed
"Dating asshole after asshole." Roya added
"Curious...have ever meddled with any of the girls we tried to get with?" Jonathan asked
"I plead the fifth." Roya replied
"Nope! You are not getting out of this. What did you do?" Joshua asked as he was about to tickle her, "Don't force me to make you laugh out the truth."
"Stop! Fine," Roya groaned, "I may or may not have convinced some girls to not date you."
"Like who?" Jonathan asked
"Gina Coleman...Senior year." Roya said shamelessly
"Gina? Damnit Roya she was bad. She was about to dump her boyfriend for me." Jonathan stated
"Yeah...she was until I convinced her to talk to him and reconsider it." Roya said
"You blocker!" Jonathan teased
"You CAN'T talk!" Roya laughed
"You wouldn't happen to be responsible for when Angela Thomas stopped texting me Freshman year of college would you? To this day I still don't know what happened to her." Joshua commented
"Don't concern yourself with the past Josh." Roya laughed
"You DID have something to do with it!" Joshua stated
"She was trying to talk to you and Andre from the basketball team at the same time. So I helped her get her act right." Roya said
"Didn't she say someone jumped her in the dorm?" Jonathan now remembered
"She didn't get jumped. She was punched in the face and dropped like a sack of potatoes after her mouth got super spicy with me." Roya said
"You punched her?" Joshua asked
"Guilty." Roya replied
"With your damn inhuman strength. No wonder she said she was jumped." Jonathan laughed
"No one messes with my boys, I'm very protective of you two." Roya smiled
"I fear for Alicia." Joshua laughed
"Damn right you should." Roya commented. She looked at the time and realized it was late. She planned on working out again with Olivia after a run, "I need to head to bed."
"Yup, same here. Early morning again." Joshua agreed
"But tomorrow is your cheat day, Ro." Jonathan stated
"Cheese! I get to eat cheese?" Roya beamed
"Yes, you can eat cheese. I will be making dinner for you and the three of us will have a quiet evening to ourselves." Jonathan replied as he stood up from the couch. Roya and Joshua stood up as well. Roya grabbed both of their hands and led them to her bedroom."
"Come sleep in the bed with me." she said. They smiled and made their way to her room. She climbed into the middle of the bed while the twins laid down as well and curled up next to her.
"Happy?" Joshua asked
"Best feeling in the world." Roya sighed as she knew that she was going to fall asleep fast. Jonathan turned off the light and soon the three drifted off to sleep.
