Chapter 6
Leah decided to have a night out with the girls. She went out to dinner chatting and having some sort of a social life. Angel went to do patrolling along with Spike. It was nothing but the usual talk of men and their lives. Leah did mention she was seeing Spike but they didn't think much of the name. She did kind of miss him not being around her.
They all got up and paid heading to the nearest bar. Some got drinks standing around checking out every guy that was around them. Most were single and for once Leah felt good no longer being in that category.
"Who is that cute guy with the blonde hair and black leather jacket?" One of the girls noticed him. Leah looked over seeing it was Spike walking her direction.
Spike could easily pick his girlfriend in a group of women. He noticed the women looking at him and smiling. "Ladies," he said nicely.
Leah walked up to him dressed up in a nice black sleeveless dress, her hair was down but curled. He could smell her vanilla scent. "You look nice," he took her hands in his kissing her cheek.
"I don't do this very often, everything ok?" Leah asked him. His arms wrapped around her waist pulling her closer to him. She put her arms around his neck.
"A few vampires here and there not to shabby." A slow song came on and he pulled her to the dance floor.
"I missed you, I'm so use to you being with me." Spike rubbed his hand along her cheek appreciating that she cared about him and thought about him when they were apart.
"That's the first time I'd ever heard a woman say they actually missed me," he said appreciating her.
"First time for anything." Their lips met as they danced together. He made Leah feel safe with him. Her feelings for him were more than what she thought they were. Both of them knew they felt an instant connection towards one another. It was like all the pieces were finally starting to fall in place. Whatever loneliness Spike always felt was no longer there.
Leah realized she was in love with him. The song was over and both of them walked off the floor together. Leah said her goodbyes as they left the bar. They headed back to her place seeing it was late.
Spike took the key from her unlocking the door letting them in. He shut the door behind them as they both walked in. Leah dropped her stuff on the chair walking up to Spike as he took his black trench coat setting it on the chair. His arms grabbed her by the waist pulling her closer to him. He kissed her deeply literally taking her breath away.
They stripped down to nothing making love craving each other once again. He thrusted in her making sure she got every big of pleasure out of it. Selfishly, he wanted to make her his as they made love. He knew what it consisted of which was drinking her blood.
"Can I taste you?" He looked into her eyes.
She gave him the look of assurance letting him know it was ok. He kissed her neck some before his face turned and he bit her in the neck drinking her blood. The pain hit her quickly but subsided. He drank a good amount stopping not finding one drip on him with his face turning to normal. Both of them found their release holding on to one another.
"My love," he said holding her.
"Nice to know you're serious about this," She kept her eyes on him.
"I always was no woman wanted to take me seriously." They kissed a moment before going each other's eyes wants again.
"As long as I don't have to share you with anyone." Spike laughed a little at that.
"I'm not the sharing type, I'm all yours pet."
"I was kidding honey," Leah kissed his cheek.
Spike caught on to what Leah called him. He knew that was something couples called each other. It was nice that she would think of him that way.
"Can I tell you something?" Leah asked him.
"Anything," he held her.
"You're stronger now, my blood remember? One vampire bit me once making him difficult to kill after drinking my blood. He wasn't as old as you but you might be a little intimidating to Angel," Leah reminded him.
Spike knew he could use that to his advantage. At this point, he was able to rationalize with a soul knowing that would be wrong as tempting as it sounded. "At least I can protect you."
They had fallen asleep and the day arrived with the sun shining through the window. Leah woke up and Spike awoke to her movement in bed next to him. "Morning." Spike kissed her cheek.
"Hi."she rubbed her hand along his cheek. Leah kissed him briefly before she got ready. Today was suppose to be her day off but Angel needed her help with some things.
They arrived at the office hand in hand stepping off the elevator. "Well look at here, Spike out on the dating scene again." The girl with brown hair came up to him.
Leah saw her dressed in jeans and a tight shirt fitting her body. "This is Faith another slayer," Spike introduced her.
"Hi," Leah said simply.
"Angel filled me in about you, I thought it was just me and Buffy for a while," Faith said a little surprised to see another slayer.
"Spike found me," Leah replied.
"I'm glad I did," Spike looked at her taking her hand on his.
"You are so sweet," Leah looked at him smiling.
Faith shook her head seeing how all lovey dovey they were towards each other. Derek came out of the elevator seeing everyone standing around talking. "Well who's he?" Faith asked Angel.
"Leah's brother Derek, good guy," Angel looked at her.
"Ok Spike, when you marrying my sister?" Derek teased him.
"Shut up," Leah hit his arm.
Spike snickered at Derek's comment. "Soon I hope," Spike said meaning it. Luckily him and Leah didn't catch on to that.
Derek noticed Faith introducing himself to her. Angel rolled his eyes knowing Derek was flirting. "Angel he's a flirt, it's been a while since he's been in an actual relationship." Leah informed him.
"I am not," Derek protested.
"Derek, I know your history with women. Women throw themselves at you, I stayed out of the party life. Except the house parties you threw want me to keep going?"
"Nope sis don't keep going," Derek said sighing.
"Oh remember that time you." Derek put his hand over her mouth knowing Leah was doing it on purpose. Spike and Angel both laughed a little seeing Derek didn't want Leah to tell everyone about his past with women.
Faith was heading out planning on coming back later. Derek got her number putting it in his phone. Leah followed Derek and Angel to Angel's office. Spike followed behind her. "Ok is it a date? Where you two going?" Leah said flooding her brother with questions.
"Is it necessary to flood your brother with questions?" Spike asked her.
"He did it with me when I told him about you." Spike shrugged not thinking much of it.
"I was making sure he wasn't a douche bag," Derek added.
"You mean like you," Leah spat at him.
"Right very funny," Derek said annoyed.
Spike couldn't help but laugh at them. Angel just sat down in his chair shaking his head at them. Leah's phone rang and it was the police informing her what was going on. She hung up the phone putting it back in her pocket.
"I need you guys to look at this body. Autopsy shows the body completely drained of blood. We aren't sure what's doing it but something is," Leah informed.
"You sure it's not a vampire love?" Spike wondered.
"Vampires wouldn't cause the body to shrivel up like a raisin." Leah replied.
"She's right, we drink blood not everything else that goes with it," Angel agreed with her.
Spike thought a moment still a little confused. "Never heard of such a thing."
"I can ask around," Derek offered to help.
"We'll look into it tonight," Angel replied.
Angel had Leah help him with a few things of paperwork. Then she took a break sitting down for a while. Spike came in seeing her relaxing a moment. She got up to wrap her arms around him and kiss him briefly on the lips. His arms remained around her holding her. "Everything alright?"
"Just resting been helping Angel with his paperwork. He left the room having me take a break for a while. I hope he lets me out early. I wanted to stay home and sleep in a little bit." Leah yawned.
"You look tired," Spike said looking at her.
"A little."
He leaned in kissing her deeply on the lips. After a minute Leah pulled back. "Spike, I'm working, Angel might throw a fit," Leah reminded him.
"I'm not worried about captain forehead." He started kissing on her neck.
She giggled feeling his lips starting to tickle her neck. "Spike." he laughed a little with her as he held her. All he felt was nothing but love for her. This time around he wasn't going to let what he had go, he would fight because she was worth fighting for.
"You are mine," he looked into her eyes.
"I know." She knew he had claimed her last night to be his. Vampires had this thing about finding their mates. Not that she minded, to her who wouldn't want to be his. He was hot with his blue eyes and bleached blonde hair, great body.
Spike noticed there must have been something on her mind. Leah looked like she was in deep thought. "Something on your mind?"
"No." She lied.
He smiled at that kissing the top of her head. "I need to focus on work right," Leah said trying to focus.
Leah got back to work doing a few extra things. When she finished, she had the rest of the day off. Spike came back home with her helping her clean and do laundry. Leah noticed Spike had gradually brought his stuff with him keeping it at her place. He was hardly at his place mostly staying with her. "Do you want to move in? I mean you are here with me all the time." Leah offered.
Spike appreciated her offering him to stay with her. "I'd love too, you've been nothing but kind to me. That I appreciate so much from you. You treat me like a being that's what I always loved about you," he rubbed his hand along her face.
"It's the least I can do." She pulled him into a hug and he held her close. "Just one thing."
"What is it?" He looked at her.
"Don't make me regret this." Spike knew what she meant. It was having a relationship and her trust that she was giving him.
"I won't I promise," he assured her.
They finished up the day cleaning and snuggling together mostly. In the evening they headed to out to meet up with Angel. He would meet them at the graveyard. Spike stood close to her kissing her cheek.
"You fought for your soul for Buffy didn't you?"
"It's amazing what love makes you do. I thought if I'd fight I could be the person she wanted." Spike explained remembering.
"No offense but if you knew she wasn't interested then how would that make any difference. I mean it didn't did it?"
"I realize that now love," Spike approached her.
"Spike, you're a great guy I wasn't there in your past but I love you for who you are now," Leah said meaning every word.
He felt an overwhelming amount of emotion when he heard her say that she loved him. For once, he had someone who loved him back. Spike lifted her up kissing her deeply on the lips. Leah pulled back to look at him as he continued to hold her. She noticed he looked like he had been crying tears of happiness while he kissed her.
"You loving me back means everything to me. I've waited so long for this," he held her.
"Hey guys, sorry to interrupt." They heard Angel coming up to them.
Spike knew they could continue later but for now they walked with Leah heading to the coroners building. Leah walked in the building holding up her badge letting them know that both guys were with her. They let pass with them following her to the back. A guy met with them leading them to the body. He was an older gentleman carrying a clipboard.
"All organs intact but all fluids were gone," he said showing them the body.
"Never seen anything like it," Spike said looking at it.
"Did anyone catch what caused it?" Angel asked him.
"I'm afraid not body was found a couple of hours later." The guy said covering the body back up.
"Looks like we got our work cut out for us," Angel said leaving. He thanked the guy then everyone had left the building. They continued to walk Angel was on one side of her and Spike was on the other side holding her hand in his. There were screams of a woman yelling for help not too far from them.
They spotted two vampires cornering her. The girl looked frightened and Spike and Leah stood off to the side.
"Hey get lost," Angel warned them.
They went towards Angel and he fought one staking them the other one hit him from behind. Leah picked up the stake Angel dropped getting the other vampire from behind. "That was easy," she shrugged.
"Thank you," the woman went up to Angel.
"Go home stay somewhere safe," Angel advised.
"You got a name?" Angel smiled at that a little. "It's not important go."
The girl left leaving as fast as she could. Leah looked at Angel then back at Spike. "Is that a thing around here to save the woman?" Leah wondered.
"Seems like it," Spike answered her.
"You get use to it," Angel sighed.
They checked making sure their path was clear before heading home. Spike and Leah left Angel when they got close to their place. When they made it to the door, Leah unlocked it letting them in. Spike shut the door behind them. Leah stopped a moment hearing something in one of the rooms. "Spike," Leah said stopping him hearing something.
"What?" He looked around able to hear it as well. Then a little scratching noise came from the guest room. Leah went close to the door slowly opening it. As she looked down she noticed a tiny black kitten in front of her.
She picked it up holding it and it meowed and purred. "My brother must have brought this in."
"I never was much for cats when it came to feeding." Spike said remembering.
