Chapter 7
For the past few weeks seemed to be the same typical work week. Not much was found since their moment at the coroners building. Spike felt the happiest he's ever been in quite a while. He treated her like royalty even though she never asked for anything. Angel learned real quick how much having a soul really changed him.
Leah sat there looking at a jar that looked like slime in front of her. Angel was impressed with her knowledge he hired her to do some lab work as well. He hasn't had anyone who was practically a genius since Fred years back. It did make it a little unique that she was a slayer and literally a genius. It was the only thing she seemed to be good at.
"This does not do me justice looking at this," Leah said annoyed.
It was some sort of experiment that she was told to look at seeing there was something special about it. She left the jar in the lab heading upstairs. She noticed the blonde Harmony coming up to her that normally sits behind the desk for Angel. "So what do you think about this?"
"About what?" Leah looked at Harmony.
"Taking a speech class on Shakespeare," she handed her the paper.
"Seems a little irrelevant the way you wrote it." She handed it back to her.
"Which means?"
"It makes no sense and explain it better." Harmony took her paper back reading through it. Leah went into Angel's office seeing Spike sitting in there with him.
Before Leah could speak she noticed Angel's appointment coming into his office. Angel was finishing up a phone call and the gentleman looked over Leah's direction staring at her. Spike noticed looking his direction then at Leah's. She was too busy looking at her phone to even notice. Angel got off the phone getting the attention of the man looking at Leah. Spike got up from his seat walking over to Leah leading her out of his office.
"He was eyeing you," Spike spoke as he walked with her.
"When?" Leah asked him.
"Just now."
"Wasn't paying attention." Leah shrugged.
He walked with her to the supply room. The door was unlocked as they both walked in. Spike grabbed her leaning in kissing her deeply. He shut the door behind him as he kept kissing her. She pulled back breathing a little heavily. "Spike."
"I never wanted a woman like I want you," he looked into her eyes. Sex was like a drug to him with her. Everything about her drove him crazy, it almost felt like he was developing some sort of deep obsession with her.
Even if she tried leaving him, Spike was the type to not let go so easily. If anything he would probably annoy her to death if it ever came down to it. To him, Leah was worth fighting for, she was his since claimed her that night. "Spike, I'm working," Leah said still holding him.
She couldn't help herself leaning in kissing him. He pulled back looking into her eyes catching his breath. "I've never felt this way about anyone."
Leah leaned in kissing his lips a moment. "I will make it up tonight," She promised him.
"I love you," he leaned in kissing her lips.
"Love you," she looked into his eyes. Leah grabbed what they needed leaving the supply room. She dropped some stuff to the main desk.
Derek had came in with another guy dressed in military like gear. He had dirty short blonde hair and built like her brother. "Hey sis," Derek called out.
Spike immediately recognized him. "Well pretty boy guess you do get around," Spike folded his arms.
"You remember Riley?" Derek asked her.
"Wow Riley you grew," Leah said surprised to see him. They had known each other for a long time. He was one of Derek's friends that he knew in high school.
"Guess you know him?" Riley recognized Spike.
"What Spike yeah," Leah answered him.
"Guess you're still evil and annoying?" Riley asked him remembering.
"I have a soul now and no I'm not. I've changed since the last time you saw me," Spike said annoyed.
"Wait a second, you guys know each other?" Leah asked them.
"We go way back, only when Buffy was involved." Riley spat that at him.
"I'm over her now," Spike sighed.
"Wait what?" Leah asked confused.
"Long story, took you this long?" Derek looked in between both men seeing the banter going on between them.
"Ok guys so you weren't the best of friends?" Derek asked both men.
"Not exactly, I dated Buffy and he had this thing for her nor did he get a shot," Riley said remembering.
"Wait a second so Angel dated Buffy too?" Derek questioned them.
"Unfortunately yes," Riley answered him.
"Sweetheart, I moved on," Spike looked at her reassuring her that part of his life was over.
"Ok well this is awkward," Leah sighed.
"What's he doing here?" Angel questioned her brother.
"We went to school together, he knows my sister too," Derek explained.
Leah started to get that feeling of awkwardness getting to her. Spike was able to sense it standing next to her. He had her walk with him leaving them behind. "I'm in love with you now. You have nothing to worry about," Spike kissed her hand.
"Just don't want you to feel like you have any extra feelings if she came to visit," Leah said a little concerned.
"I don't," Spike's tone became serious.
She pulled him in a hug just holding him a moment. He kissed the top of her head as he held her in his arms. Spike stopped hugging her holding her hand in his as Derek walked over to them Riley followed him. "You're with him?" Riley asked her.
"You got a problem with it?" Spike gave him a serious look.
"Maybe, that's if you're not deciding to kill her later." A growl came within him like a sound of a demon. Despite the fact that Spike was good or not to Riley he was just a vampire. Before anything could happen Derek stepped in front of them.
"Enough," Derek looked at both of them. Spike was aware of his new strength he had. Leah knew he was stronger knowing her blood had something to do with it. Spike would use it to his advantage to protect himself and Leah.
"Calm down they are leaving now," Leah stood in front of Spike. He calmed down seeing Leah in front of him. His lips met hers kissing her briefly.
"Pretty boy better watch himself," Spike said annoyed.
"Just chill out."
Leah kissed Spike briefly while his arms were around her waist. "I think tonight we do a quick patrol and call it a night."
"As long as I'm with you pet." Spike knew he fell hard for her. He started thinking ahead seeing himself spending all eternity with her. It was the one thing he had been longing for having someone to spend his whole immortal life with. He was getting older and was starting to see things differently than what he use to. Spike had matured a lot since first coming to LA.
Night had fallen and both Spike and Leah walked around the graveyard doing their usual patrol. Spike took her hand in his as they walked.
"Hey guys," They heard Derek.
Leah saw him walking towards them. Then a vampire spotted him going after him. "Watch out," Leah called out to him.
Derek saw him punching him across the face. He pulled out a pocket knife fighting him then stabbing him in the chest seeing him withering to dust. Another vampire ended up running towards him. Her brother fought him and killed him. A couple more came out from no where and Angel appeared fighting them.
"Why do I even bother?" Leah sighed. Spike looked at her a moment then back at her brother and Angel.
"We got to check out a club there's been some vampires causing some issues," Angel insisted.
They walked to the club in the city. The place was dim with people everywhere. Derek went with Angel while Spike stayed with Leah. He stayed close to her feeling protective. Spike grabbed a beer from the bar drinking it. Leah looked over on the crowd watching people pass by. She spotted a man from a distance staring at her. He was tall with a shaved head with greenish eyes. He wore a vest and jeans with women around him.
The man was extremely attractive but Leah didn't let it phase her. He took a last sip of his drink watching her. "I have to go to the bathroom it's straight ahead," Leah said getting Spike's attention.
She walked his direction as the man continued to watch her. Leah used the bathroom and came back out. The man had moved closer to the bathroom area. "There's something different about you," he spoke.
"I sensed that about you too," Leah turned to look at him.
"Look, I heard there is some trouble around here," Leah explained.
"Vampires, it's ok we took care of it," he replied.
"You gotta name?" Leah asked him.
"Marcus." He took her hand kissing it.
"Men don't do that anymore," Leah said impressed.
He smiled at her a little taking his hand back. Marcus seemed to take an interest in her. "Just doing my job."
"Not all vampires are bad you know," Leah looked at him.
"I will half agree with you on that." Leah excused herself leaving him there. He smiled at her a little watching her walking away from him. Spike was off to the side spotting Leah walking his direction.
"Everything all right?" He asked her.
"Yeah, let's find Angel," Leah took his hand walking around searching for him. They eventually caught up to Derek and Angel making it through the crowd. Leah felt some guy grab her causing her to stop. The guy seemed drunk and Spike shoved him away from her.
"Watch it you wanker," Spike said annoyed.
The guy got angry ready to fight Spike. "You can't be serious."
He swung at him and Spike punched him causing him to fly a few feet knocking a table over. "Moron."
Leah grabbed Spike's hand leading him out of the club while Angel met them outside with Derek. "Looks like the job has been taken care of," Angel said surprised.
"By who?" Spike asked him.
"Marcus and his crew. I befriended them a few years back. Very few of his kind around," Angel explained.
"I just ran into him coming out of the bathroom," Leah replied.
"What is he?" Derek asked.
"They are werewolves, I was out and they saved me with a run in on a demon," Angel looked at Derek.
"Bloody wonderful," Spike said sarcastically.
"Maybe they should work for you," Leah suggested to Angel.
"I was considering it," Angel said thinking about it.
"Not that I'm not use to working with men. The only difference is they are attractive men." Her brother snickered at that a little and Spike just gave her the look of disapproval.
"Don't let her get away that easy," Derek added.
"Shut up, it's nice not to be around men who are old, overweight, and around me scarfing their food down next to me at their desk at the police station. Then it's here you want some," Leah explained.
"Still you said attractive men," Spike reminded her.
"Yes and clean for once, you go sit with them for a day and let me know," Leah griped a little.
Angel laughed at that a little taking that as a compliment. "Yeah ok they are kinda slobs," Derek said agreeing with her.
"See you guys in the morning," Angel looked at them.
Leah and Spike went their own separate ways from Angel. Derek seemed to be crashing at Angel's place helping him out with some stuff. Leah unlocked her apartment door letting Spike in shutting it behind them. She tossed her stuff on the chair.
"You're the only man I want," Leah walked up to him. Spike took his jacket off tossing it off to the side. He wrapped his arms around her pulling her close to him.
"You're mine, I claimed you," he looked into her eyes.
"What does that mean?"
"In the vampire world we claim what's ours. I didn't learn that until later that it was even possible. It's a ritual, you agree I drink some of your blood."
She leaned in kissing him deeply on the lips. He felt her hands going under his shirt removing it. Spike lead her into the bedroom guiding her to the bed. Both of them stripped down to nothing as he got on top of her riding her deeply. Their moment was filled with pure pleasure with her moaning and kissing him as he kept riding her.
She did so many things to please him hearing moans coming from him. "I'm all yours," Leah looked at him breathing heavily.
Things got so intense as Spike took their love making to the next level. He finished what he started claiming her completely. His face changed as he bit the same spot of her neck taking more of her blood.
Spike had become better with not leaving a drop. His face went back to normal and he continued riding her looking into her eyes. They both found their release holding on to one another. He got off her laying close facing her. All he felt was nothing but love realizing she completed him. "I love you." Spike said holding her.
"I love you," she leaned in kissing him.
"I've waited for this moment for a long time." He spoke.
"I hope you're the last man I'll ever be with," she held him.
"I'm not going anywhere love."
"Give it ten years you'll get tired of me," Leah joked.
"Vampires are different than humans when we find the one. Our love is eternal for the one we love it never changes. I had that all wrong when I was with Dru."
"Yet you choose me? I'm still a little self conscious about myself." Leah admitted.
"I don't know why, you're beautiful and I've seen attractive women but none that look like you," he said meaning every word.
"What about when we first met?"
"Almost couldn't picture you as a cop until I learned who you really were. You were beautiful then just as much as you are now." He played with her hair as he held her.
"I thought you were very attractive but I didn't really let it get to me. I'm use to working with men and believe me I've worked with many of them. It was easy for me to actually treat you like one of the guys." He kind of chuckled at that understanding what she meant.
"We have each other that's all that matters," Spike kissed the top of her head.
He knew he would be there for her and take care of her. All he ever wanted was to be loved back. They both fell asleep holding each other.
The next day, Leah came into the office with a coffee cup in her hand and her stuff in a large bag with her small wallet purse. She noticed Marcus and his group of four guys in Angel's office. "Morning," Spike came up behind her.
"Looks like Angel took my advice," Leah looked into his office briefly.
Spike took her hand in his kissing it. Leah was still getting use to the fact that he was over one hundred and fifty years old and he would act and talk like he was from another time. "Yes now we're surrounded by wolves."
Leah led him with her into Angel's office. Spike seemed like he had no choice but to give these guys a chance.
