Spike asked her to marry him but it wont be anytime soon.
Chapter 8
Leah stood there next to Angel listening to them all talk. Still she felt distracted with Spike standing across from her. Their moments from last night was still on her mind. Spike looked her direction seeing her trying hard to listen to what was going on. He could easily sense that she wasn't able to concentrate. He felt the same way not being able to stay focused either. All he wanted was to be alone with her in his arms in bed making love to her.
Derek came in standing next to her while Angel was talking and going on about business. "I got a date," he whispered to her.
Leah took a sip of her soda. "Who?"
"Harmony." Leah literally started coughing having her soda going down the wrong way causing Angel to stop talking.
Spike approached her concerned as she kept coughing some. Leah stopped being able to breath. "She's fine," Derek added.
"You ok?" Angel asked her.
"Fine wrong pipe," Leah cleared her throat.
Spike stood by her side and she nudged her brother in the shoulder. Derek knew why she did it seeing she wasn't too thrilled with him going on a date with Harmony. Angel continued talking while they stood there. Spike heard both Leah and her brother bickering at each other. Angel finished talking as the guys just sat around hanging in his office for now.
"What in bloody hell are you two going on about?" Spike questioned her.
"Giving him shit because he is going on a date with Harmony." Spike laughed at that knowing what she is like.
"Good luck with that one mate," Spike looked at Derek.
"I can't focus very well." Leah looked at him.
"I noticed," Spike held her hand.
"We need to be alone in bed, nothing on," Leah whispered in his ear.
Hearing that turned him on enough to make him wish he could take her right there. Everyone left his office leaving them alone. Spike knew their relationship was very deep and intimate. "I don't give a damn about time marry me," Spike looked at her.
"Are you serious? Shouldn't we be together for a while before doing this?" Leah said getting caught off guard.
"In my time we didn't wait like they do now, I want to take care of you and be there for you. I don't want anyone else," he explained.
"I can't I have to get back to work." Spike smiled at that knowing what she meant. "Are you sure you're not just asking me out of a spare of the moment thing?"
"I've been thinking about it for a while." He walked up to her getting close to her. His hand brushed along her face. She felt his breath on her lips about ready to kiss her.
"You're crazy." Leah looked at him.
"Only about you pet, we can spend all of eternity loving each other, pleasing each other in every way possible. I'll never get sick of sex. It turns me on when I get you off," he said seductively in her ear.
Leah started feeling a little weak in the knees. The thought of it just made her wet as he was close to her. "Spike." She looked at him not sure what to say.
"I would be all yours and you would be all mine," he said not wanting to share her with anyone.
Leah knew Spike wasn't going to easily let this go always allowing things to drag out when it came to their relationship. She sighed at him knowing what she wanted.
"Yes," she answered him.
"You will?"
Leah nodded her head yes and he lifted her up kissing her feeling nothing but happiness. He pulled back to look at her feeling like the happiest man in the world. "Were you going to keep pestering me if I didn't give you an answer?"
"Maybe." Spike kissed her as they were still alone in Angel's office.
Derek came in seeing Spike holding his sister. "We have something to tell you," Spike looked at her brother.
"What?" He came up to them.
"I asked her to marry me, I am aware of her circumstances but I'm quite capable of taking care of her," Spike explained.
Derek knew her genetics with being half vampire. He wasn't sure about her life span and what effects it would take on her. "She's stronger than the average slayer, there is a chance she will not age nearly as fast and have a longer life span."
"I accepted his proposal, Spike can help me through this," Leah assured her brother.
"How are you not going to get sick of her years from now? You're immortal you could move on to someone else," Derek asked concerned.
"I loved Dru for decades even when she didn't love me. Leah is different, vampires are different, we search for our mates you're sister ended up being mine," Spike explained.
"I'm glad she has you." Spike appreciated that her brother was accepting of their relationship.
Angel came in seeing them talking. "There's a party tonight, it's not to formal but look nice," Angel advised them.
"Company thing?"
"Kind of all the Wolfrum and Harts get together and does parties," Angel explained.
"Sounds fun," Spike replied.
"You don't mind me dragging you?" Leah asked Spike.
"There's no other place I'd rather be," Spike looked at her with loving eyes.
Angel looked over at Spike seeing how in love he really was with her. It was a side of him that Angel never saw before learning that Spike was capable of being loving and gentle. In a way he was happy for him feeling a little lonely not having anyone by his side.
Leah was beautiful, how Spike found a woman like her was beyond him. Angel almost became a little envious.
It was finally night time and it was about time to go to this get together. Leah wore a sleeveless dark blue dress that came down to her knees. Her hair was pulled up to the sides in curls. Spike would meet her there so she walked around looking at their art hanging on the wall.
She sensed a presence behind her. Leah turned around seeing a large built man behind her. He had shaved brown hair and green eyes. He was attractive and the man reminded her of a wrestler the way he was built wearing a nice gray suit.
Leah turned around to look up at him. "Can I help you?"
The man just looked at her like he had met her before. She looked like the woman who he fell in love with many centuries ago. "My apologies," he took her hand kissing it.
Leah," She heard Angel's voice. he saw her standing there alone walking towards her.
"Angel, there was a man here, tall, built standing right next to me," Leah said looking around.
Spike came around the corner seeing Angel and Leah talking. "Beautiful as always." He grabbed her had holding it as he kissed her cheek. Leah was surprised not to see him in his black trench coat wearing a black button up shirt and nice pants.
Angel lead them back explaining to Spike what happened. "Do you see him anywhere?" Spike asked Leah.
She looked scanning the room not able to spot him. "I don't see him."
They continued walking around and Leah ate some food at the table. Spike stayed beside her feeling a little protective over her. He sipped his beer keeping an eye out for the guy. "I forgot to mention, you look really nice," Leah complimented him.
"Not really my style but thanks love," he said appreciating the compliment.
The music started playing a slow song and he offered his hand to her to slow dance. She took it and they walked to the dance floor. His arm went around her waste pulling her close to him. "I'm glad I can tell you anything you've always made me feel comfortable around you."
"I feel the same way, you never turning me away," Spike took her hand putting it to his chest.
"You were a big help," Leah said remembering.
Their lips met as he placed a soft kiss on her lips. Spike pulled back looking into her eyes smiling at her a bit. She held him in her arms seeing the man that spoke to her. "It's him," Leah had him turn around and look.
Spike looked at him right away and was able to identify him to be a vampire. "Something is different about him, he's not like us," Spike turned to look at her.
"He kind of had some sort of an almost like Russian accent."
Spike looked at the guy then back at her. "We aren't sure what he is capable of pet."
"What's going on?" Marcus walked up to them.
"Another unfamiliar vampire," Spike informed him.
"I'm assuming it's the guy looking our direction," Marcus looked at him.
"What?" Leah looked back briefly.
The party still seemed to be running smoothly. Angel advised to keep an eye out for any problems that could occur. Spike kept Leah by his side as the rest of the night went on. He could tell that Leah felt a little uneasy.
"Spike can we go?" Leah looked at him.
"Come on," he took her hand in his leading them out of the building.
Leah continued to walk with him "It just felt weird that he was staring mostly at me."
"Whatever the hell he is, I won't let him near you," Spike assured her.
"I'm not worried about that, looks like we got some research to do." He respected the fact that she was strong but would do anything to protect the one he loved.
He stopped her from walking turning her to look at him. "It has taken me decades to find a woman like you. I will do what I can to keep you safe."
"I can handle myself."
"I'm not saying you can't but I don't know what I'd do if anything happened to you." Spike rubbed his hand along her face.
Leah sighed at that not use to someone wanting to take care of her. "I know."
They continued to walk holding hands talking some. Spike stopped them from walking "We're being followed."
The man that spoke to her at the party appeared behind Leah. She slowly turned around facing him. His eyes were a greenish color as he looked at her dressed in a black leather jacket a white shirt underneath exposing his chest.
"It's you," Leah looked at him.
"Yes, you're not like the others," he spoke.
Spike growled keeping his eyes on him. "Your point?"
"Slayers, I've killed plenty a long the way," he looked at Spike then at Leah.
The man could read her and by looking at her he could easily sense what she was. "So, why do you kill slayers?"
"They are weak." Leah threw a punch at him and he blocked her. She ended up tripping him on the ground. He quickly got up, his eyes turned red and he went to go after her. They fought a moment as he learned she was much stronger. It got to the point to where he hit her hard enough to have her go back a few feet.
He didn't want to keep fighting her but it was enough for him to figure out what she was. Spike helped her up while the man got away. "You alright?" He looked at her concerned.
"I'm fine." Spike saw there wasn't a mark on her. All he saw was nothing but her beautiful face in front of him. He took her hand leading them home. The walk was not too far and they made it to the apartment. Spike shut the door behind him removing his jacket. Leah walked towards him feeling his arms go around her waist.
"You are my world." Spike rubbed his hand along her cheek. He felt like she didn't realize how much he loved her and was willing to do anything for her. It was the first time Spike had ever given himself completely to someone. No other woman had allowed him to get this close.
They went into the bedroom, Leah went to the bathroom while he got into bed. A few minutes had past and Leah turned the lights off getting into bed. They both snuggled up to one another. "I've never seen a vampire like that guy you fought tonight. He's different than our kind," Spike said unsure of who he was.
"I'm sure Angel had some books on different vampires," Leah replied.
"He did say he kills slayers," Spike remembered.
"We'll talk to Angel about it in the morning."
"Yer right," Leah yawned ready to fall asleep
