Chapter 12

Leah had the day off to catch up on things. Spike helped her clean up a little. Her phone was near her just in case Angel needed her. She loved how Spike was so sweet and loving towards her. He treated her a lot differently now than when they were friends. The closer they became the more flirtatious he became. It was right before he asked her be with him. Spike would drink his blood from the fridge keeping his hunger down. He didn't need it everyday.

When they finished, they sat on the couch. "So what's the plan for tonight?" Spike asked her.

"See if there are any other vampires like him. Angel wanted to check in a demon bar here," Leah answered him.

His arm went around her and Leah snuggled close. "You know I'd always save you, protect you, and keep you out of harms way. I'm feeling things I've never felt with anyone except you," Spike admitted.

"Maybe it's because you never gotten this far?"

"Yes but with you you're different. You're not like the others." Spike leaned in kissing her lips slowly and passionately.

Leah pulled back to look at him. "You're such a charmer."

Spike smiled at her a little rubbing his hand along her cheek. The door open and half slammed. "No making out in front of me," Derek said seeing them as he came in the door.

Leah took a pillow throwing it at him. "Ass."

Derek picked it up throwing it at her. "Am not."

"Bloody hell you two always acting like children," Spike sighed.

There was another knock at the door. "Door." Derek stood there.

"You're right next to it answer it," Leah rolled her eyes.

He rolled his eyes at Leah answering it seeing Buffy standing there. "It's Buffy."

Leah walked up standing next to him. "Idiot."

"Hey." Leah said nicely.

"Hi, I was wondering if we could talk?" Buffy asked her.

"Angel put you up to this?" Derek asked her.

"Buffy," Spike walked up to them.

"Hi Spike, I want to talk to Leah." Buffy said nicely.

"I'll be here keeping Derek occupied." He looked at Buffy then at Leah.

She kissed his cheek briefly then headed out of the apartment. They went for a walk seeing it was nice out. "I'm glad to see Spike happy," Buffy spoke.

"Yeah well, he found me I was working at night and I was chasing down a criminal and he must have crossed his path and scared the hell out of the guy having him run my direction," Leah explained.

"Ever since we defeated Hellmouth years back, I've traveled took a big break from slaying. I stayed away trying to live life and I told both Angel to just go on living their lives. It took me a while to want to come visit," Buffy explained.

"There aren't many slayers around, I guess they missed me," Leah shrugged.

"I didn't love Spike like I loved Angel. It was my stubbornness that I didn't give Spike a chance. Angel was my first love but I was able to move on knowing he was ok."

They got to know each other more and Leah told her about her traits of a vampire she had in her. Buffy was very calm and interested in knowing more about her. Then the subject went back to Angel.

"Do you still love him?" Leah asked her.

"I care about him and even if I did we couldn't be together like we want to. I can tell how much Spike has changed. The way he looks at you, I haven't seen him that happy before." Buffy really never fully said that she still loved him but Leah had a good feeling that she still felt something for him.

After a while they walked back to the apartment. Leah opened the door and both of them walked in. Angel had Buffy go talk to Leah and get to know her since Buffy was interested in meeting another slayer. "I haven't properly introduced you to my brother Derek," Leah said nicely.

"Nice to meet you," Derek took her hand kissing it.

Buffy seemed to blush a little seeing how charming he was towards her. Leah and Spike noticed she felt an instant attraction towards him. To Buffy, he was very good looking with a nice smile and very pretty blue eyes. "Likewise."

Buffy seemed very interested in him knowing it has been quite some time since she dated anyone. "You want to go to dinner?" Derek asked her.

"Sure," Buffy accepted.

They had made a plan to go to dinner this evening. Buffy was getting ready to go saying bye Leah and Spike as her brother walked out with her. "Should we tell Angel?" Leah looked at Spike.

"He'll figured it out," Spike wrapped his arms around her.

Their lips met each other as they kissed each other. Leah pulled away to see him slightly catching his breath. "You ok?"

"I want you so much."

He leaned in kissing her deeply as they ended up making love pleasing one another. Spike cherished every intimate moment he with her. He had fallen deeply in love with her and she would be the last woman he wanted to be with. After a while, he was tired of trying to search for the right one. Leah was his after claiming her as his own.

They finished laying close to one another. "You know how to charm a woman like me," Leah said catching her breath. Everything about him was perfect, she loved his built figure and his muscular arms and body.

"You deserve it love. You're the most kind loving woman I'd ever met." Spike said holding her.

"According to my brother I'm a pain in the ass." Spike laughed at that a little.

"I don't see it."

"Well technically, I'm still law enforcement so they wouldn't have to lose me they made an agreement with Angel." Leah explained.

"Like?"

"Mostly doing his stuff at night and a little of theirs but not to work me as much."

Leah got out of bed looking at the time. Spike pulled her close to him kissing her a moment. "I need to get up or we will never leave this bed."

"I'm fine with that," Spike stood up grabbing his pants putting them on. Leah got dressed putting on her clothes. The rest of the day the held each other on the couch until it was almost dark. Spike noticed her gun and her badge on her belt.

"So your on duty," he looked at her.

"Kind of," he took her hand in his as they went to meet up with Angel. He met them half way and they all walked to the bar. It was a different kind of a bar. Angel opened the door and they all looked up at then taking notice of Leah.

Seeing them made Leah a little nervous. "I won't let them harm you," Spike assured her.

They sensed who she was but the fact that she had different traits in her caught their attention. Spike kept his eye on them feeling protective of her regardless if she could handle herself or not. Angel had them approach him as he stood next to a demon talking. "Any info on Drake?" Leah asked Angel.

"He has already begun building his kind," the demon looked at her.

"Go figure," Spike sighed.

Leah looked around the place letting Spike know she would be ok. "Let me buy you a drink," A younger looking guy came up to her."

"Thanks but no thanks." Leah replied.

"A woman as pretty as yourself shouldn't be here," the guy flirted a little.

Spike looked over at Leah seeing him talking to Leah. "Hey bugger off she's not with you."

"He's a normal looking guy."

"Not all of them have to always look like a demon," Spike said taking Leah's hand. Leah shrugged walking with him back to where Angel was standing. His expression looked as if he was frustrated at something.

"Problems?" Spike asked him.

"No one seems to have the information we needed. It's all things we heard before," Angel said leading them out.

They walked outside and Leah's phone had rang. "What is is?" Leah heard her brother on the phone.

Her brother went on and on about his date he had with Buffy. It seemed like it was only a friend type of matter which didn't seem to be worth mentioning. "Just be careful please," Leah sighed.

She hung up with him sighing. "He's going out will be home late."

Angel lead them to the library to do some research. They had some time to look through books to find anymore history about Drake's kind. Leah continued reading through books until finding the information she needed. "Drake was in love with a woman but when he was rejected he went insane and did a ritual making him something more powerful who feeds off blood."

"So he made himself this way." Angel said a little surprised.

"Why is there always a woman involved? It's so over done," Leah sighed.

Spike laughed a little at that. "You talk as if it were a movie."

"What? I'm just sayin," Leah shrugged.

Spike shook his head at her still finding it humorous. "Seems to always be the case," Angel replied.

They finished up leaving the library. Angel went home and Spike walked with her. He stopped her a moment having her look at him. "There's not one moment that goes by that I don't feel happiness. I love you with all that I have."

Leah was wondering why Spike was being so loving all of a sudden. "I know this. What is it?" Leah wondered.

"I want to marry you sooner than later," Spike admitted.

"I know things have been so crazy. Are you sure about this whole marriage thing? I mean it's just a piece of paper." Leah said not having much value in it.

"You're not like others when it comes to marriage," Spike said a little surprised.

"I guess not." He played with her hair a little as he looked at her. Then Leah lead them home to their place not wanting to stand outside anymore.

They both walked in shutting the door behind them. Spike removed his jacket setting it on the chair. "You know I'm serious about this love."

"I know. What are you afraid of? You're asking me sooner because," Leah asked unsure.

"I'm not afraid of anything but I'm ready to settle down with you," he took her hand in his. Leah knew Spike was always so kind and gentle with her. She learned that he was definitely the charming romantic type.

"You sure you won't get sick of me if I lived as long as you?" Leah wondered.

"You don't put much faith in me do you?" Spike smiled a little at her.

"I'm use to people getting sick of each other. I adapted too much to human society." Leah admitted.

"Guess you're not use to someone like me I told you vampires are different." Spike reminded her.

"I blame my half human instincts." Spike kind of laughed at that.
