Chapter 13

Spike still was pretty serious about getting married sooner. It was one thing he always wanted was to be married at some point. He sat at the chair in front of Angel having nothing better to do. Angel would glance at him briefly still annoyed by him. "I thought Leah having an office would keep you out of mine."

"She's been in the lab all day." Spike looked at him

"I heard Buffy came by." Angel figured he could find out why.

"Still got you're a thing for the girl mate," Spike said not surprised.

"I'm still shocked you're over her."

"The difference between you and I is that I moved on. You're still a nutter for her. That never seemed to end." Spike sipped his cup of blood.

"That's not true, I'm over her," Angel protested.

"Bullocks, your still all fancied up about her or you wouldn't be questioning me," Spike called him out for it.

"How do you know you're over her and not using Leah as a cover up?" Angel questioned him.

"I gave myself time to get over her. Leah is my mate, I knew what I was getting myself into. I love her more than I can explain. I'm marrying her remember?"

"Couldn't make it that far with Buffy," Angel sighed.

"Besides Dru never appreciated me, I realize that now."

Leah came into Angel's office with some old notes. "Found these from a Fred?"

Angel picked them up reading over them remembering them from quite a while ago. "She worked for me before she passed." Angel said looking through them.

Spike hadn't seen Leah since this morning before he left. He could smell her scent taking her hand in is holding it. Her hair was down but pulled up to the sides with black pants and a nice shirt. "Hey you." Leah looked at Spike.

"Been busy I can see." Spike kissed her hand.

"Just a little." Angel left the room leaving them there having to talk to his accountant. Spike grabbed her by the waist pulling her on his lap leaning in kissing her lips. She pulled back looking into his eyes. "You are such a charmer."

"You're worth it darling," Spike rubbed his and along her cheek.

Leah leaned in kissing his lips feeling his arms wrap around her. Spike stopped her before things escalated. It was almost tempting of to just to use Angel's office so they could have sex but he didn't.

"We could finish this tonight," Leah looked at him.

Spike almost felt bad feeling like this relationship was nothing more than sex but he knew there was more to it. He couldn't help that he wanted her the way he did. Sex was all of a sudden like a drug to him wanting it more than he has in quite some time.

"Would love to." He held her feeling like the happiest man in the world. Angel came back in his office seeing Leah sitting on Spike's lap.

"So when are you two getting married?" Angel asked them.

"Derek gave me the proper paperwork. We just have to get the license and make it official," Spike explained.

"I'll be honest, I've never seen you this happy," Angel said surprised.

"Before we got together he was my drinking buddy," Leah said remembering.

"I still am just your mate," Spike reminded her.

So are you tell me what's going on with Buffy?" Angel asked curiously.

Leah looked at Spike then at Angel. "Well we did talk and got to know each other and my brother asked her to dinner and they went."

They could see a little jealousy on Angels face but she was free to see who she wanted. "Good for her," Angel tried hiding his feelings.

"If it bothers you that much talk to my brother about it. He hardly knows her and I think it's more of a friend thing." Leah got up heading to her office. After a few minutes Spike came into her office seeing her paperwork on her desk. It was all mathematical formulas and anything to do with testing. He seemed impressed with what he saw learning how smart she was.

"I think Drake is older than you and based off my research I have reason to believe he's part demon feeding off human blood." Angel came in the office wondering if she found anymore information.

"Drake half demon?" Angel asked confused.

"If not whole, but we've familiarized with demons, vampires, werewolves. You've fought up plenty right?" Leah asked them.

"Yes we have pet. What are you getting at?" Spike wanted to get to the point.

"Someone or something brought him back. He's going to be a lot harder to kill. I also think he may be part of the reason the council for slayers was destroyed.

He was around in four seventy six A.D. Drake was a king in his time killed people torched them. Then fell in love with a woman who rejected him went crazy and became this," Leah explained.

"Sounds like a fun guy," Angel said sarcastically.

"So how do we kill him?" Spike asked her.

"That's what I'm trying to figure out. I think stakes are going to be out of the equation." Leah sat back in her chair.

"That's a first." Angel said a little surprised.

"You guys know how to use a gun then maybe we should start using them," Leah suggested.

"Finally some bloody shooting action." Spike's tone seemed excited about it.

"Good work I'll start looking into it," Angel said leaving the room going back to his office.

Spike got up from sitting down as Leah stood up. "You amaze me," he leaned in kissing her a moment.

"Just using my common knowledge." Spike smiled her a little admiring her a moment. "We need to patrol and Derek said he would try to ask around."

"Just don't over work yourself," Spike said concerned.

"I'm not use to having someone care about me like you do." Spike knew she hasn't had a very loving and caring relationship growing up. He would show her the kind of man he was before he lost his soul.

Derek came in seeing his arms around her. "Hey love birds."

"So what did Angel say?" Leah wondered.

"Buffy and I are getting to know each other. Right now we're just friends," Derek said being honest.

"Sounds fair, love can I have a word with your brother?" Spike asked her.

"I'll be out front bugging Angel." Leah kissed Spike's cheek then left them alone.

"If you get with Buffy you'll drive Angel bloody nuts. He won't admit it but he still has feelings for her. It might effect whatever friendship you got," Spike warned him.

"You had a thing for her too," Derek reminded Spike.

He sighed at Derek. "I loved her once but I've moved on. Your a good bloke mate but think about what I said," Spike said looking out for him.

"Chill out were just friends."

"What did you tell Angel?" Spike questioned him.

"We're just friends."

"Good or you would be on a short leash," Spike said giving Derek trouble.

Leah came back in seeing the guys talking some. Both of them were sitting in the chairs in front of her. "Harmony has been scoping you out," Leah noticed her always looking at her brother.

"Yeah I know we've talked," Derek sighed.

"She's not the brightest one mate nor as beautiful," Spike looked at Leah taking her hand in his kissing it.

"Now you're trying to be charming," Leah smiled at him a little.

"I mean what I say." Spike get his eyes on her. Little did anyone really know except for Leah that Spike was the romantic type. He always seemed to be being the bad poet he knew he was.

Derek rolled his eyes at both of them. "Get a room."

They finished out the day and Leah was out with Spike doing her usual patrol. Leah walked around the park away from the graveyard. "No sign of Drake, seems like Marcus and his crew been doing pretty well," Leah walked with Spike.

"Maybe but they can't keep away every demon," Spike reminded her.

Leah spotted two glowing eyes looking her direction in a small spot in the small woods area. "Something is over there," Leah started walking towards the wooded area.

"What in bloody hell are you doing?" Spike said catching up with her.

She slowly kept walking until something jumped out at her knocking her down. Leah fought to get it off her while Spike was able to hit it with a large stick he found on the ground. it turned growling at him with it's glowing eyes. Spikes face turned into vamp face fighting it. Leah noticed it looked like some sort of demon dog with fangs no fur and all black. It was a little smaller than a wolf. Leah came up behind it grabbing her pocket knife stabbing it from behind.

It made some Loud scream. Spike found something sharp stabbing it in chest as it withered into dust. Leah helped Spike off the ground pulling him up to stand. His face tuned to normal as he brushed himself off.

"You ok?"

"I'm fine, you're arm," Spike noticed her arm bleeding.

"A scratch," Leah looked it briefly.

He lead her back home getting into the cabinet searching for bandages. It didn't take him long to locate them. Leah took off her shirt leaving her in a tank top. Spike cleaned it off placing a bandage over it.

"Guess we can tell Angel tomorrow," Leah yawned.

They went into the bedroom Leah changed and Spike was in bed when she came out. His clothes were thrown on the ground. She got in bed with him feeling his arms wrap around her. His and started to wander up her thigh. Their lips met kissing each other deeply. Leah giggled a little "That tickles."

He chuckled with her looked into her eyes. "That was not my intention." Leah knew it would be another intimate night with less sleep.
