I'm so sorry for the late update life has kept me busy!

Chapter 14

Spike hung around the office Leah was assigned a job most of the morning. Angel saw Spike sitting in his office couch playing with Derek's phone. There was some sort of game he had involving shooting keeping him half interested. He then looked Angel's direction.

"Heard from Leah?" Angel asked him.

"No, not yet, she was assigned a job this morning," Spike answered him.

Harmony walked up to Spike wondering if Spike really did love Leah. She hasn't seen him with anyone for quite sometime which was almost a shock to her. "So tell me Spike, you actually are ready to settle down?"

"Yes, I've waited many years to have someone to settle in with. All my past relationships went down the drain. Why?" He set the phone down wondering why she asked.

"Just making sure your not breaking some girl's heart. I mean hello you haven't had the best track record," Harmony reminded him.

"Things change Harm, it took me a long time to fall in love again. Now I'm happy for once," Spike explained.

"Give him a break," Derek came up to them hearing them.

"I mean he's dating another slayer," Harmony walked out of the room leaving them alone.

Spiked sighed at that looking back at Harmony a moment. Leah came in from working most of the morning. "Guys," she said simply.

"What's wrong bad morning?" Derek asked her.

"Nothing better than trying to convince someone from jumping off a building to some investigating on a few robberies," Leah stood next to Spike

"Sounds like an easy task," Spike looked at her.

She leaned in kissing Spike's cheek briefly. He turned to look at her with loving eyes. Leah went to rub her hand along his cheek and he took her hand kissing it. "Such a charmer," Leah blushed a little.

"Anything for you love." Spike leaned in kissing her a moment.

"Get a room," Derek walked in the room.

"Shut up," Leah looked at her brother annoyed. Spike sat their listening to them bickering back and forth at each other.

"There is a reason I didn't have any siblings," Spike sighed.

Leah went through her emails. Derek came in the room finding a chair sitting down. Leah yawned starting to feel tired with lack of sleep.

"You look tired," Derek looked at her.

"You think?"

Leah was able to catch up on the things she needed to. She stood up leaving her office grabbing coffee to keep her awake. "You alright?" Spike walked over to her.

She took a sip of her coffee. "Just tired."

"You sure?"

"I'll make it,"' Leah leaned in kissing him a moment. His arms wrapped around her waist.

Spike was a little concerned making sure she would make it through the day. Leah worked a lot realizing lack of sleep was getting to her. She walked back out with Spike following her from behind. Derek brought her something to eat. Then Angel insisted that she would rest after Spike explained to him about Leah working alot. He gave Spike his spare key guiding her to his place taking the spare room. It wasn't something Angel would do but he trusted her.

Leah removed her shoes lying on the bed. Spike laid next to her holding her as she fell asleep.

A couple hours had past and Leah had woken up. She was alone in the room slowly waking up looking around the room. For some reason she felt different but didn't know why. It was like her senses were changing along with something else she couldn't figure out.

Spike must have left allowing her to rest. Leah heard the door open seeing Spike walking in. "Sleep well?"

"Vampires have strong senses right?" Leah questioned him.

"Not all of us, the newer ones not as much as someone like me. Why do you ask?" Spike wondered.

Leah got close to him as he shut the door behind them. Instead of answering, she looked into his eyes. His hand rubbed along her face sensing that something was happening. She was so beautiful as he looked at her knowing he could look at her forever.

"You're slowly changing, I'm not so sure about turning completely but I can sense it." Just the thought made her nervous.

"It scares me a little, I don't want to hurt anyone," Leah said concerned.

"You don't have to face this alone I'm here I always have been." Leah wrapped her arms around him in a hug holding him a moment.

"I know, you've always been there." Their lips met as they kissed. Spike wanted to continue figuring Angel would throw a fit not really caring at the moment.

Leah pulled back with them both breathing heavily. Spike looked at her feeling nothing but love mixed with lust. "I love you." Leah looked into his eyes.

"I love you more," Spike replied still holding her.

Before they could do anything the door opened with Derek walking in. "Angel told me to check on you."

"I'm with her she's fine," Spike looked at him with his arms around her waist.

"Just making sure you weren't doing anything," Derek looked around the room.

"Does it really matter?" Leah rolled her eyes.

"Angel is a neat freak love can't mess anything up. He will tend to be a nutter if we mess anything up." Spike lead her out having walk through the building into the office area. Angel had his home connected through his office making it easier for him to move around in the day time.

They walked in Angel's office seeing him reading through papers. He noticed something different about Leah as well. "whats going on?" Angel questioned Spike.

"Its obvious shes changing mate I'm not sure what that means." Derek heard them talking coming in the room.

"I've tried figuring it out myself, i did some research and there is a possibility increase her life expectancy," Derek explained.

They finished out the day heading out to patrol at night. Nothing than the usual few vampires they would run into. Spike took the last puff of his cigarette throwing it on the ground.

"I wonder where everyone is?" Leah wondered.

"Not sure." He took her hand in his leading them out of the cemetery.

"I find it a little weird on how it's so quiet." Then after Leah spoke a vampire jumped out on top of her trying to bite her. She flipped him off her getting up punching him and driving a stake through them.

"Except for that." Spike stood there as she brushed herself off.
