Chapter 19
Leah was hitting a punching bag in the police gym. It was where most went to work out or work on self defense. She was strong almost about to break the punching bag. She stopped pulling out her weapons she decided to work on from home. They were sais that she use to train with when she did martial arts.
She did a flip a back flip still holding on to them. Luckily she still remembered how to use them.
Spike came into the gym area seeing her practice. He was impressed with her fighting skills. Leah was more of a train martial artist compared to Buffy making their fighting skills so different. Leah stopped seeing Spike watching her.
"Not bad love, you got a lot of skill," he walked up to her.
"I'm a little rusty," Leah put her stuff away.
"It didn't seem like it." Spike took her hand in his leaning in kissing g her a moment.
"Spike you're stronger than I am. You don't want to get hit learn to be quicker at blocking," Leah advised him.
"Not much for me to worry being stronger than I was before." Leah's arms were wrapped around his neck as he held her a moment.
"I appreciate you making it up to me last night." Leah hugged him.
"Anything for you, my job is to make sure your happy." Spike did make her feel better giving her all the love and comfort than he had ever given anyone. He reminded her that they had the rest of their lives together.
"I know."
They both left heading to Angels apartment so Leah could shower and look decent while going in the office. She got dressed drying her hair out doing her make up then getting lost in her thoughts. Only thing that hit her mind was when they had their intimate moment last night. The way he showed that he loved her and all of the sexual pleasure she got out of it made her wet just thinking about it. No one made her feel like he did.
"Love are you in here?" She head Spike.
"Almost done," Leah said finishing up putting her stuff in her bag. She grabbed her stuff putting everything away walking out of the bathroom.
Spike saw her smiling a little admiring her watching her. Leah took his hand heading over to the office. She put her bag down in her office seeing a small pile on her desk. Leah had Spike help her with some of it. Derek came in with Ethan, he seemed more calm than before. "Derek what is he doing here?" Leah asked him.
"I explained everything to him and he understands now," Derek explained.
"I'm sorry I didn't know," Ethan apologized.
Spike came in the room looking at Ethan briefly not too happy he was there. "Fancy seeing you here," Spike said not too happy with him.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know," "Ethan apologized.
Spike appreciated the apology but didn't exactly trust him around his wife. Ethan talked to Derek a little longer before leaving. "You're a real nutter bringing him here," Spike nudged Derek.
"He's a friend I had to explain." Leah rolled her eyes at her brother going into Angel's office.
"Hey," Leah said coming in the room.
"Drake is back, I have people who are watching for me." Angel replied.
"Why don't we get help from Buffy or Faith?" Leah wondered.
"I'm not going to have them take that chance at least not now." Angel looked at her.
"So your having me do it?"
Spike came in hearing their conversation. "What and bloody hell are you talking about?"
"My job is to keep what we have safe. You're stronger than they are at this point"
"They can still help Angel." Leah tried explaining.
Angel sighed at that. "They can but if I put them in there they will get themselves killed."
"So can Leah," Spike said concerned.
Leah sighed knowing Angel was right. "Ok fine whatever,"
"She has a much more less of a chance of dying." Angel tried explaining to Spike.
"You think I want her fighting him alone. Why is it I bloody have one thing to make me happy and you try to use it to your advantage?" Spike said upset.
"I'm not trying to, I just know who is capable." Angel argued.
"Do you even give a damn about the fact that I'm unwilling to let her go?"
"Dammit Spike will you please shut up for god sake. I can deal with it I've known I had to do this for a long time. If you want to know the truth here it is. Drake is after me ok? My brother and I did some research and I look like the girl he fell in love with a long time ago. I don't know its like genetics or something. I'm not her but looking like her doesn't help. So yes he figures out I'm with you he'll kill you." Leah said upset leaving the room.
Leah did leave getting some air and getting away from everything for a while. She spent her time going shopping knowing she had more than enough money saved. When she was done she was able to get all her stuff in the bedroom.
All day no one saw Leah. Spike had her brother call her phone and no answer. He started to worry hoping something didn't happen to her. "She's probably fine," Derek said trying to comfort him.
"Easy for you to say, it's not like her to not answer her phone," Spike said half panicking.
All day Angel noticed Spike doing nothing but worry about Leah. It was all new to him and he had never seen him worry about someone like he did her.
"Doing ok?" Angel asked him.
"I never worried about anyone like this since my mother," Spike looked at Angel.
"You know she can handle herself and her intelligence is beyond me. I sometimes wonder how you ended up with someone like her," Angel sat back in his chair.
"I don't know but I don't intend on letting her go." Spike looked at Angel
Angel could see that he was truly in love with her his whole existence revolved around her now.
It was night time and Leah walked around patrolling getting a few vampires here and there. She sighed knowing Spike was near her. "Can't a girl have space?
She sighed.
"You had me worried all day. Where have you been?" Spike questioned her worried.
"I had a date," Leah said it to get him going.
"With whom?" Spike raised his voice.
"The mall, I went shopping. I took my anger out on that." Leah said annoyed.
He sighed at that still aggravated that she left him to worry. "You could have at least let me know you were ok."
Leah walked away from him annoyed. Spike followed her anyway. "Will you stop following me?"
"I'm not sure pet you might disappear again."
"I'm just tired of everything trying to decide what's good for me." Leah protested.
"Well sorry I'm a concerned husband who gives a damn about you. My job is to protect the ones I love." Spike argued back.
"You don't have to."
"I know that but I've lost a lot my mother, everything I don't want to lose you too." Leah sighed stopping looking back at him. Spike was more human with a soul than what she anticipated. She took a few steps towards him looking into his eyes.
She was so beautiful as he looked directly at her. There wasn't enough words to describe how perfect she looked to him. "I'm sorry." Leah started to feel bad about how she acted. Work kept her so busy she knew she would snap. Today seemed to be the day for her to do so.
Spike leaned in placing a gentle sweet kiss on her lips. "Your over worked," he brushed his hands through her hair.
"Maybe." Her lips met his kissing him in the graveyard. His arms were wrapped around her waist holding her. Leah pulled back looking into his eyes.
"What is it?" Spike asked her still holding her.
"I have some weird filling like we are being watched." He looked at her then looked around them. Spike scanned the area letting her go walking around a bit.
"You're right." He looked back at Leah. Then out of the bushes a woman with dark hair came from behind the bushes. Spike recognized her immediately.
"Drusilla, wasn't expecting you here," Spike said not surprised to see her.
"It's been so long love I hope you would come back after everything." Drusilla approached him looking at him closely. "You're not the same a vampire with a soul no bad Spike."
"Things change," Spike looked at her.
Dru noticed the other girl with him being able to identify her as a slayer along with something that was different about her.
"Who's yer friend?" Leah asked Spike.
"Drusilla, she made me what I am." Leah kept her eye on her as Dru just gave her a blank stare. Dru took out an arrow gun shooting it at Leah. Spike jumped in front of her causing it to go in his hand.
"Spike," Leah tried helping him. He pulled the arrow out of his hand bleeding dropping it on the ground. With in a matter of minutes, his hand had healed. He looked at it almost not believing what had happened. Spike started to learn how strong he was being able to have the ability to heal himself.
Dru stood there looking stunned after what happened. She started shooting more arrows and Leah shoved Spike to the ground. She found a rock aiming and throwing it at her gun knocking it out of Drusilla's hands. Leah got up off Spike going after her. Somehow, Dru was able to escape causing Leah to lose her. Spike caught up to Leah seeing she had lost her.
"Something must have grabbed her helping her escape," Leah saw Spike coming towards her.
Spike used Leah's phone calling Angel letting him know what happened. "Looks like we got Drusilla hanging around here."
Leah walked with Spike and he handed her the phone back. He took her hand in his holding it as they walked. "So what now?" Leah wondered.
"Angel will have the wolf pack keep an eye out for her. In the mean time let's get home." Spike led her with him to their place. Leah unlocked and opened the door as Spike shut the door behind them. He followed her into the room watching her dig through her pajama drawer. Leah grabbed what she wanted shutting the drawer.
"Is it true that Drake is after you?" Spike questioned her.
"It's something my brother and I talked about. I look like the woman he fell in love with back in the medieval times. I guess I have some relation to her or something." Spike got close to her wrapping his around her.
"Too bad for him pet, you're mine," he looked at her.
"Like it's going to be easy telling him that." Leah let him go changing into her pajamas and going into the bathroom. Spike sat on the bed removing his shoes tossing them off to the side. A few minutes later, Leah came out turning the bathroom light off. She saw Spike removing his shirt tossing it on the floor getting into bed.
He laid with her facing her covering them both up. She snuggled up to him as he kissed the top of her head holding her close. "Your the over protective husband type aren't you?" Leah asked curiously.
"Maybe because when you finally found what you've been searching for so long you want to do everything in your power to protect it." His eyes were on her as she leaned in kissing him.
Leah pulled back to look at him brushing her hand along his cheek. He took her hand kissing it holding it. They laid there in silence holding each other drifting off to sleep.
