Chapter 20
"Dammit," Leah said running after an animal type demon.
It was a large animal dog looking creature with red eyes. It was nighttime and she was chasing it through the streets trying to shoot at it. Spike landed from the top of the building to the ground in front of the dog trying to grab it squirming trying to get Spike off of it. Leah took the stake driving it through it as it went to dust. Spike brushed himself off getting the dust off him.
"Seemed like it almost struggled getting away from you," Leah said surprised.
"I almost lost my grip with it." Spike took her hand in his.
"I couldn't tell but I did hear Buffy wanted to bring in more girls to help fight. Willow do her spell to make them stronger." Leah explained.
Spike sighed at that not liking the idea. "None of them would bloody stand a chance in hell. I guess Buffy is unaware of that. This isn't like the battle of hell mouth."
"Angel said he didn't want to put anyone at risk. I'm not sure what happened after that. Where is Angel anyway?" Leah wondered.
"He went out of town for a day, he will be back tomorrow."
Leah was curious on how strong Spike really was. "Spike can I try something?"
"What?" He stopped looking at her.
Leah backed up "Attack me full force," she challenged him.
Spike hesitated not wanting to hurt her but did what she said growling and his face turned going towards her. Leah was aware tripping him causing him to fall on the ground. He got up off the ground throwing a punch at her. She blocked him punching him in the stomach. The hit did effect him but not as much as before. They both fought each other and Leah seemed to be having a little bit of a hard time. Spike somehow was able to grab her arm causing it to go behind her back with him holding on to her from behind.
"Ow," Leah looked back at him.
His face turned to normal looking at her. "It was yer call, love."
"Guess my curiosity killed the cat." She turned to look at him.
"I was only going easy on you because I didn't want to hurt you," Spike assured her.
"Spike." Leah sighed.
"I don't want to hurt the one I love." He rubbed his hand along her face.
"What about when we…well?" Leah asked not sure how to explain it any better.
"We what?"
"You know in bed."
It took Spike a moment until she knew what she meant. He snickered at the thought of it. "I don't hold back on that." He said seductively whispering in her ear. That literally brought chills to her the way he said it.
Their lips met kissing each other while his arms wrapped around her. This lasted a while until he pulled back to look at her. "We can go home and you can show me."
"I'd love to," he kissed her lips.
Their moment was interrupted by her phone ringing. Leah answered it talking on it letting her know to come to another crime screen that just happened. She hung up the phone heading to the place that it happened. Spike went with her noticing it was another apartment building on the first floor.
The police let them walk in the room with the body lying on the bed naked with a chunk of her neck bit off. "Seems like these been happening in the bedrooms of women," Leah looked at the body.
"Neighbor was going to complain but then after a while heard screaming. Then he busted the door open and found her like this," A guy explained.
"It was difficult for me to get a blood sample," the coroner explained.
"What ever wanker did this drained her almost dry," Spike said examining it.
"What's strange is these women have long dark hair. It was like he was trying t9 find a woman to resemble me," Leah remembered the last body having long dark hair as well.
Spike waited on Leah to finish up and left the site. They made it home shutting the door behind them making sure the windows were locked as well. "I think he has made it pretty clear that he is after you," Spike said worried.
"He thinks he found the woman then kills her. Drake knows none of them will compare to me. He's created some sort of sick fantasy," Leah explained.
"I will protect you at all costs. You're my wife now and my job is to protect you," Spike said meaning it.
"I know." Her hand brushed along is cheek. He closed his eyes a moment to her touch feeling nothing but love.
The door barged open causing them both to react quickly. Derek came in making out with some girl. "Bloody hell mate get a room," Spike sighed at them.
Derek flipped Spike off guiding the girl to his room. Spike just rolled his eyes leading Leah into their room. He shut and locked the door.
"Is that necessary?" Leah looked at Spike wondering why he'd like the door.
"I don't know her and she sure as hell ain't making her way in here." Leah shook her head at him grabbing her pajamas going into the bathroom. Spike removed his clothes getting into the bed. Leah came out after getting ready for bed.
She got in as Spike covered her up with him. He leaned in kissing her wrapping his arms around her. There moment was interrupted by a loud hit in the wall. "What in bloody hell is going on?"
Leah shushed him having him listen. There was noise coming from the room along with a woman moaning. "Great hearing them all night shagging will be fun," Spike moved lying next to her.
"Derek has plenty of condoms in his drawer." Spike laughed a little at that.
"You know I always want you. Every chance I get just to feel your warmth up against me. If it were possible I'd be going at it with you non stop." His hands started pulling her shorts down as he got closer. Leah was completely mesmerized by him letting him do whatever he wanted.
Their lips met kissing each other while Spike was on top. He was busy working on removing her clothes while kissing her. It didn't take him long to remove he4 clothes leaving them both with nothing on. Spike normally slept naked with her. He entered her sliding himself in. Her moans came from her lips feeling him thrusting her at a steady pace.
Things got intense as he started pumping harder. They did different positions doing everything to please one another. Spike was up for anything when it came to sex.
They both finished lying in each others arms. "Your amazing," Spike said holding her.
"You just put up with me," Leah said giving him trouble.
Spike laughed a little at that. "There's a difference love I wanted to be with you and it was not by force."
There lips met as they kissed each other. Leah pulled back looking at him. "I should get up."
They both got out of bed throwing on clothes heading to the front. Leah had her pajamas on walking out to the front. Spike went to the fridge grabbing blood heating it up in the microwave. Leah grabbed some cold coffee drink opening it pouring it in a cup.
Their was a knock at the door and Leah looked at Spike having him answer it. He opened it seeing Angel standing out there with a couple of suitcases. "Forget to unpack?" Spike asked him.
"No, my apartment got destroyed," Angel sighed.
"So your asking me for a place to stay?" Spike questioned him.
"Spike knock it off, come on in," Leah had him walk in.
"Any idea how it got destroyed?" Spike asked him.
"I'm not sure, I'm thinking someone who doesn't like me very much." Angel set his stuff off to the side.
"I bloody almost find that quite funny," Spike said giving him a hard time.
Leah walked off letting them talk knocking on her brother's door. "Derek."
With no answer Leah stood there waiting noticing his door was unlocked. She slowly opened the door finding him asleep noticing the girl had left. "Where's the girl?"
"What girl?" Derek said waking up.
"The one you were screwing with last night."
"Left early." He yawned.
"Angel is staying with us for a while. His place got destroyed not sure what happened. Police are looking into it and he just got back from his short trip." Leah explained.
Derek got up from his bed and Leah left his room letting him get dressed. "So what's the plan?" Leah asked both Angel and Spike.
"Until Drake decides to cause anything we patrol and try to find any clues in my apartment," Angel answered her.
Spike drank is blood out of a mug seeing Derek coming to the front. "Guess you're not was fun mate."
Leah rolled her eyes not caring about her brothers night with a woman. Derek and Spike were in a conversation about it. "Take off today, my place is connected to work. I have limited people working today," Angel looked at her.
"Nice I was going to get ready but guess not now."
Spike heard some of what was going on. "Nice got a day off?"
"Yes get to relax until this evening," Leah wrapped her arms around Spikes neck.
"I don't mind, not much a fella can do during the day," Spike held her.
"I did some research and I do know for sure Drake fell in love with a woman who was royalty. Her description did fit me which was kind of weird. I know someone who researches this kind of stuff," Leah informed him.
"Seemed like when you fought he wasn't going very hard on you," Spike remembered.
"You noticed that too?" Spike nodded hearing her. He wasn't going to let Drake try to interfere with what he had giving him a reason to fight back. Leah was the only other person who made him truly happy besides his mother.
Leah went to their room lying back down still feeling a little tired. Spike came in the room shutting the door behind him. "Rest I'll go out front," he said letting her sleep.
"Leah assured me that Drake is after her," Spike came out to the front.
"Then we don't let her go out alone. He will go after her the moment shes alone." Angel replied.
"Guys came on its my sister your taking about here. She can handle herself" Derek said now sure why they feel like they have to fight for her.
An hour had past and Leah came out fully dressed. She had showered getting herself ready for the day. Spike was impressed on how she can get herself together so fast.
"So much for a decent nap, I got a call to patrol a large bar. There had been some problems with some aggressive men. I think the police department are unaware of what they are," Leah explained.
"Sounds like the vampires are striking heavy," Derek took a sip of his drink.
"Looks like it's our time to take them out," Angel suggested.
"It's been quite boring around here. We need some action," Spike protested.
Leah shook her head at him "Boring?"
Spike thought she meant her seeing shaking her head at him. "Not you love, our nights of patrolling have been bloody dreadful."
"Now he says dreadful," Leah said giving Spike a hard time. Both Angel and her brother snicked at that.
"You know what I mean pet," Spike's tone was serious.
"Spike she's just giving you a hard time," Derek couldn't help but laugh.
"Not funny." Spike sighed.
Their moment was interrupted by a knock at the door. Leah walked over to the door answering it. A man with dark and dark eyes dressed in a pair of jeans and a shirt was standing there. "Can I help you?" Leah asked him.
"More like, can I help you? You got a name?" He flirted.
"You first," Leah sighed at him.
"I'm Xander and you are?"
Leah looked back at both Angel and Spike. "Spike, Angel there is a Xander standing outside my door."
Spike walked towards Leah recognizing the guy. "You look the same," Xander recognized Spike.
"Nice one Harris," Spike said half annoyed.
"Xander, let me guess Buffy's idea?" Angel questioned him.
"Kinda, she is doing the whole round up the old gang thing," Xander explained.
Angel looked at Leah and she gave him the ok to let him in. "It's not easy this time around. Things have changed a lot since the last battle," Angel replied.
"Then who is she?" Xander questioned them.
"This is Leah, she works for the police department and is a slayer." Spike answered him.
"I thought there was only Buffy and Faith." Xander said a little confused.
"Looks like they missed one." Angel looked at Xander.
"You gotta name?" Xander flirted.
"Leah." Spike noticed the way Xander was looking at her.
"So what's a pretty girl like you doing with these guys?"
"They work with me and one is my husband," Leah answered him.
Xander gave a look like he was surprised. Not once did he believe a vampire could actually get married. He saw the other guy come to the front with dark hair and blue eyes. "Please tell me it's him," he noticed the other guy.
"Come here honey," Leah wrapped her arm around her brother. Spike just chuckled a little at that.
Derek wrapped his arm around her casually playing along. "Who's he?"
"Xander a friend of Buffy's," Leah answered him.
Derek kissed her cheek keeping his arm around her. "You are a bad kisser," Leah looked at her brother.
Xander looked at them confused Angel and Spike chuckled seeing they were messing with him. "I'm kidding I'm her brother Derek."
"So shes with one of you?" Xander looked at both vampires. " Angel you got over it and got over the curse."
"She's mine you wanker," Spike rolled his eyes at him.
"No way you're married? Wow didn't see that coming." Derek looked at Spike then back at Xander. Leah walked over by Spike standing next to him. His arm went around her waist as he moved closer. Angel explained to Xander what had been going on. Xander looked briefly at Spike and Leah's direction not wanting believe Spike got married.
For now, they all had to wait til dark Xander talked to Angel and Derek. Leah went into her room flipping on the television sitting on her bed. Spike came into the room seeing Leah lying down.
"You alright love?" Spike laid next to her.
"Fine not much to do until dark." Leah felt Spikes arms pull her close to him. "I love you with all that I have.
"I love you," Leah looked into his eyes. He leaned in kissing her until she pulled back. "What do you think about Buffy bringing everyone to help?"
"Times have changed since she fought. In this case, I am not certain if she has a chance. It's not all easy like it use to be, not with this guy."
Leah thought a moment. "You both made an oath to protect what you have left. Protect her too, I know you don't love her but keep your promise," Leah assured him.
"I never said I wouldn't and quite honestly I'm more worried about you."
"I know," Leah leaned in kissing him.
