Chapter 4
Kagome groaned as she opened her eyes and glanced at the clock. 11:56am, Shit, she thought. Sesshomaru was going to be angry. She got up, fixed her messy hair and trudged toward his room. The door was closed, and it was oddly quiet. She knocked but there was no answer. She knocked again and waited and when there was no response, she opened the door. He was not in there and his bed was neatly made. She staggered over to the bathroom and poked her head in, but the lights were off and there was no Sesshomaru.
Did he go to work without her? Why would he do that, was their argument so bad that he had fired her? She scoffed as she searched for her cellphone. Fishing it out of her purse, she dialed his number and let it ring as she walked to the kitchen to make an espresso. It rang for a while and she was about to give up before he finally answered.
"It's an awful habit to wake up near noon…says a lot about a person's character." He commented, but somehow, she knew he was grinning.
"Why didn't you wake me up?"
"I'm not your alarm clock."
"Did you fire me because we argued last night? Because if so, that's so childish and says a lot about a person's character! You know, I do a good job! I put up with your crap and moodiness and -"
"Kagome…"
"Let's see who you're going to find to put up with that."
"Are you done?" he asked calmly.
"Not even close…" Kagome fumed. "Let's talk about character, shall we? You constantly get on my case about how messy I am or how unorganized my priorities are, but don't you dare judge me based on the fact I want revenge on my ex. Just because you don't have a soul and care nothing about anyone doesn't mean you're better than me. Oh, and you're so anal about everything, I mean, really, who keeps their toothbrush in a case? Honestly, who?"
There was silence on the other end and Kagome assumed he hung up.
"Kagome, I'm driving." Sesshomaru exhaled. " I didn't wake you because we're not working today. I have personal errands to take care of."
Kagome stood silent on the phone, wincing at her irrational outburst. She thought quickly how she could recant but of course, he had some sarcastic response churning in his mouth.
"You should probably get out of the house. Perhaps, get those priorities in order. It isn't attractive to lounge in your nightwear at such hour." He said, before hanging up on her.
Kagome stared at her phone as the low battery message flashed on the screen. She rolled her eyes and went to charge it. She really had to stop jumping to conclusions. She took a deep breath, relieved she still had a job yet annoyed by the rude demon she had to put up with. Fixing herself a cup of coffee, she rummaged the fridge and found nothing to eat. Perhaps she could go grocery shopping now that Sesshomaru paid her. Taking sips of her coffee and blinking away the tiredness, she went back to her room to open the check he'd given her. Tearing it out of the envelope, she glanced at the amount then looked up for a moment wondering if something was wrong with her eyes. She looked at the amount again and nearly choked on her own spit.
"$1800?" she whispered under her breath. Was this her weekly salary? She reviewed her paystub and was stunned to see her salary wage. She was a couple thousand shy of a six-figure salary. Gaining that much after high school was unheard of. I'm rich! Why the hell did the other secretary quit? Kagome folded the check, placed it in her pajama pocket as she walked back to the kitchen dancing when there was a knock at the door. She craned her head out of the hallway, staring at the door to see if she heard right and walked toward to open the door when another knock rattled against it.
Kagome opened the door ajar to see who it was, a short bald man who looked to be in his 40's coughed as he carried a box.
"Hey there, sweet cheeks, I got your order here for the Mahogany oaked Cordelia?" he furrowed his brows at her, handing her an invoice on a clipboard.
"I think you have the wrong apartment. I didn't order a Mahoga- whatever. I mean, what is it anyway?"
"It's a mirror, sweetheart." He blurted, looking irritated.
Kagome hesitated to open the door wider, skeptically looking at him and the box when he set it down and checked his watch.
"Look, I ain't got all day. This is definitely the right apartment. Maybe someone ordered it in your home, your husband?"
"My husba- he's not my husband." Kagome grimaced as she let him enter. Her apartment did not look like it belonged to the decrepit 4 floor walk-up it resided in. The renovations Sesshomaru put in made it look like a condo in the upper east side. The man seemed to acknowledge this as well as he admired the entire apartment on his way to the bathroom to set up the mirror. As she started to close the door, she saw a hand rap against it.
"What!" she sang opening the door wide to see Koga, Hojo, Miroku and Sango.
"Are we interrupting something?" Sango cast a devilish grin.
"No." Kagome tilted her head at her. "Come on in."
"Hey, Kagome." Hojo went to hug her but Koga pushed him to the side.
"I get to hug Kagome first." Koga said, pulling her into a tight embrace "My love, it has been far too long, wouldn't you say? Holy crap," he spat, letting her go and walking in to look at the entire apartment. "Look at all this fancy shit, ugh, you kept the couches though." He sucked his teeth.
"Jeez, Higurashi, you seem to be doing quite well." Hojo said. "Love the hair by the way. It suits you."
"What are you guys doing here?" Kagome rubbed her arms, anxiously looking toward the delivery man in the bathroom.
"We came to visit your ass since you don't know how to keep in touch." Sango smirked as she went to sit on the sofa. Hojo sat across from her as Koga gave himself a tour. Miroku stood by Kagome and pulled her into the kitchen.
"Hey...um…I hope things are still cool with us."
" Yeah, why wouldn't it be?" Kagome smiled.
" I don't know...because Inuyasha was my best friend, but Kagome, I swear I knew nothing about it." he muttered, his face wracked with guilt.
"It's ok...Miroku. Don't worry about it." She said, pulling him to the living room.
" Ok...cool." Miroku smiled feeling a whole lot better.
For a few weeks, he felt the weight of his guilt crushing him. As if he could have stopped it if he knew any sooner. In some way, he felt like he was lying for he knew something was different about Inuyasha and the idea of another girl did creep into his mind, but he couldn't believe it. He went to sit by Sango and saw Kagome run down the hall.
"No... Koga, don't go in there" Kagome beat him to the door he tried opening and closed the door as Koga backed away from there.
"Why, what's in there?" he grinned questionably at her.
"That's…um, well, that's my roommate's room." Kagome muttered, averting his curious eyes as she walked back into the living room.
"I didn't know you had a roommate." Koga teased as he followed her.
The short man walked out of the bathroom with the empty box and papers.
"Ok, Mrs. Higurashi, since your husband ain't here, I need you to sign these papers stating I installed the mirror into the bathroom."
Kagome rolled her eyes, grabbed the paper and signed it, not bothering to correct him. Feeling red in the face, she escorted him out.
"Whoa..." Koga cackled. " I didn't know you had a husband, when did this happen?" he looked towards Sango and Miroku. "What's going on here?"
"I don't have a husband, Koga. He thinks my roommate is my husband."
"Your roommate's a guy?" Koga smiled devilishly.
They all looked at her confused. There was silence as they all exchanged glances. Sango looked down at her lap and Kagome knew that she hadn't told any of them.
"So, your roommate's a guy? Let me find out our little Kagome is getting freaky." Koga teased as he danced and touched himself.
Kagome giggled and hit him. "Shut up. It's not like that. You're such an ass."
"What? You're just mad cause you know you want me. Well, baby, you missed your chance back in high school. I'm a taken man now." he sat on the couch and observed the living room.
"Who are you dating?" Kagome crossed her arms.
"This girl Ayame." Sango teased as Koga nodded.
"That's right...We've been dating for a few weeks now. I want you to meet her." Koga said as he stood up to look around the apartment some more. " Where did you get this stuff, man, this stuff looks expensive."
Their heads whipped toward the door when Sesshomaru walked in with a bag in hand. He casually passed them and gave a nod as he spoke on the phone and entered his room. Kagome scrunched her nose, waiting for the torrent of questions that would unleash at once. Koga, Miroku and Hojo looked at each other at first, blinking a few times then looked at Kagome for answers.
Sango stifled a laugh when Miroku tried to utter something, but nothing came out. Just a few stuttering breaths.
"Uh..." Hojo was able to say. He adjusted his glasses and looked toward everyone. He shifted in his seat plenty of times and finally leaned forward after collecting his thoughts.
"I think what they are all trying to ask," Sango snickered. "is what is Sesshomaru doing here."
Everyone nodded in confirmation then waited patiently for her to explain.
"Well, um…you see." she started then paused. "He…he…well, he…"
"He lives here!" Sango blurted and threw her arms in the air in frustration.
Kagome rubbed her hands against her hips and averted their gaze, but she could sense the different emotions from each of them. Fear, confusion, suspicion, curiosity.
"So…we're just going to just stand here and act like this is normal?" Koga announced. "I mean, this is fuckin' Sesshomaru we're talking about here. No offense, Kagome, but this is literally the last place I'd ever believe he would be in."
"I think that's the point." Kagome added. "Look, it's not what you think so stop looking at me like that."
"How am I supposed to look at you?" Koga said. "You tell me everything and I didn't know about this?"
Kagome sighed and the room suddenly got awkward.
"Ok…Who's hungry? I vote Chinese." Miroku said as he got up.
"Huh?" Kagome cast a baffled look at him. " That's it, you're leaving?"
"Don't take this the wrong way, Kagome." Miroku whispered, coming close to her face." I am not staying in the same house as him. He scares me." he pouted as he went to hide by Sango.
"You're such a baby," Sango giggled and ushered everyone out the door. "Let's go then. Kagome, you coming?"
Kagome faltered as she walked them to the door.
"No, sorry. Another time. I have something to do."
" He's not keeping you hostage, is he?" Hojo asked with extreme concern. Kagome and Sango exchanged looks then giggled.
"No," Kagome smiled. "He isn't."
Kagome examined Koga as he bit the insides of his cheek and scrutinized her.
"What are you thinking, Koga?"
"Are you guys having, like, revenge sex?"
"What?" Kagome smacked him on the shoulder. "Are you out of your mind?"
"I mean, it's not a bad thing if you are." Koga smiled devilishly. Koga looked toward Sesshomaru's room and cackled at his own thoughts. "Not a bad thing at all."
"Oh my god, Koga, get out of here." Kagome shoved him away.
Kagome frowned but it dissipated when Sango rubbed her shoulder. " Don't listen to him, he's just trying to get to you for not telling him about it. I know you're busy, but maybe we can do something next week, movie then dinner or something."
"Yeah, that sounds good. I could really use something like that."
Sango looked at her and nodded with a grin. "Don't flake out on me."
"I won't." Kagome cast a sheepish grin before closing the door.
She leaned against it, looked toward Sesshomaru's room and sighed. Looking down at her wardrobe, she scoffed and grimaced at herself. She was wearing an old T-shirt with Inuyasha's band on it. She jogged to her room, grabbed a pair of ripped white jeans and a black hoody and changed. Her crimson croppy bob managed to style itself, so she left it alone. Entering the kitchen in a daze, she was startled to see Sesshomaru sitting on the table with his laptop. He was drinking coffee from the coffee shop they all used to go to. Looking beside him, she saw another cup where she usually sat at.
"Is this mine?" she asked, sitting down beside him.
"Unless there is someone else who lives here." he said not looking up from his laptop.
"Must you always be sarcastic?" Kagome shook her head and sipped it. "Mm, Caramel Macchiato, how'd you know I like this?"
He didn't bother to respond as he focused intently on his laptop.
"So..." she continued and took another sip of her coffee. " We need to buy food. There isn't much to eat here...except some weird stuff in the cabinets that is not even in English."
"I'll call someone then." He looked up from his computer. His bright amber eyes met hers and made her stomach twist. She quickly looked away.
"For what?"
"You just said we needed food."
"Yeah, so?" she replied.
He leered at her momentarily not understanding where the conversation was going. She sighed noticing he was confused.
"In this planet, we do our own grocery shopping."
There was silence and he shrugged.
"So, what's stopping you?" he tapped away at his laptop.
She agitatedly rose from her seat. " I was thinking we could go together?"
"Do you need me to hold your hand?" he scoffed.
"No…but you have a car." Kagome remarked agitatedly.
Sesshomaru sighed and looked up from his paper and noticed her staring at him expectantly.
"Now?" he asked.
" Uh...duh? I eat every day you know." she sucked her teeth. "If it's that much of a burden, forget about it."
He stared at her, emotionless as his fingers slowly crept towards the car keys on the table. He linked his fingers through the key rings and stood up, not taking his eyes off of her. "Let us be in our way then."
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Sesshomaru watched everyone in the supermarket disinterestedly as he followed Kagome around the supermarket. She scanned the supermarket magazine of specials as they sauntered down one aisle. A baby at the far end of the aisle expelled the most screeching cry, his ears throbbed as he flinched from the annoying sound. Another toddler darted down the aisle, throwing a tantrum and clung onto his pants. Giggling, the kid latched onto his leg and he shook his off. little toddler going through a temper tantrum had cling onto his pants and giggled wanting to be picked up by him. At first it was a light shake, but after he latched on harder, Sesshomaru peeled him off his leg and placed him into someone else's cart. A lady scoffed, clearly the mother, as she reached into the other person's cart and retrieved her child.
A large man reached over him to get a can of tomatoes and Sesshomaru grimaced at his proximity. He deeply regretted agreeing to come to the supermarket. He had never set foot in one before and made a mental note to never attempt to. A few little girls who were hanging in the cosmetic section glanced up and blushed at him. Kagome smirked as she took notice of his discomfort and tried to loosen him up.
"Would you relax? I mean, it is just a supermarket. You look like you are ready to pull out a machine gun." she teased. "Why don't you help out, isn't there anything you'd like?"
"No. This processed garbage does not appeal to me." he said, crossing his arms. They paused in front of the oatmeal as Kagome compared the items to the list of specials. Sesshomaru discreetly studied her as she read the coupon paper.
"Time is being wasted staring at that thing. We're not on a budget. Just choose what you want and let's go."
"Excuse me, your highness. Not all of us have unlimited amount of money under our asses. Even if I am capable, if you can save more, why not?"
Sesshomaru sighed and leaned against a shelf as she read labels and searched for sales. He studied her discreetly from head to toe and noticed she looked a lot better since he moved in. She had no makeup on, but color seemed to have found its way back to her face. She pressed a finger thoughtfully to her lip, pulling it upward making her top lip pout even further. He enjoyed watching her bite her lip as she struggled through her decisions over which cereal to get. The lack of excitement from waiting idly caused him to subconsciously compare her to Kikyo. Aside from their nose, and before Kagome dyed it, their hair, they looked nothing alike. Kikyo's features were sharp and confident, whereas Kagome's were soft and innocent. Kikyo was slender and didn't inherit the voluptuous features Kagome had. Kikyo exuded an abundance of confidence and Kagome didn't seem to have any at all, which he couldn't understand given the attractive features she possessed.
"Should I get Fruity pebbles or Cocoa pebbles? " she broke his concentration.
"Hm?" he shook his head of his thoughts and frowned.
"Cereal...should I get..." she picked up the boxes. "Fruity pebbles" she raised with her left. " Or Cocoa pebbles? " she shook with her right.
"Neither..." he eyed the both. " They both have artificial coloring...how about this one?" he raised a box of dried Wheaties.
"Ew..." she retorted. "No person in their right mind volunteers to eat that crap. It's like chewing on wood chips!"
"Then why ask me?" he put the box down getting more frustrated.
"I gave you two options...why must you make a third?" she argued. " I'll get the both of them." she smirked as she threw them in the cart. "You can get that dry crappy cereal if you'd like."
"No thanks, but there's nothing wrong with following a healthy lifestyle. You should try it sometime." he said, towering by her side. He gazed towards the front of the supermarket. His perfect vision set out the window and caught Kikyo walking with Inuyasha, their arms linked to each other. They had passed the supermarket doors so he knew they weren't coming inside. He looked at Kagome who had been completely oblivious and opened a jar of some green substance and smelled it. Casually, he blocked her view and picked up a random can of oats. He looked over his shoulder but they were gone. When he looked back at Kagome, she was staring at him.
"What's wrong? You look tensed."
"Nothing…I'm fine. It's this place, can you hurry up."
"Okay, okay." She spat defensively.
Kagome watched Sesshomaru paced down the aisle, uncomfortable and impatient, randomly picking things off shelves, scanning it then putting them back. He was so hard to figure out sometimes, she thought and found herself comparing him to Inuyasha.
Inuyasha was very laid back, funny, spontaneous and a jokester. Though Sesshomaru was quiet, reserved and usually serious, he had his funny moments. He didn't seem to care how his outspoken opinions would affect another while Inuyasha just knew all the right things to say. As for their looks, Inuyasha was cute in that 'bad boy' way but was sweet and considerate. Sesshomaru was dashingly handsome but cruel beyond belief. She could never date someone like him, she thought, then wondered why she was even thinking it. She entertained herself anyway. No, she couldn't date him. He was so arrogant and too aloof for her liking. Did he even possess the quality of being affectionate? He must have sensed her staring because he looked right at her.
"What?"
"Nothing." She quickly yanked something off the shelf and looked down to see a can of sardines. Gross. She decided to run with it then pushed the cart down the aisle. "So…why didn't we have work today?"
Sesshomaru shrugged, shoving his hands into the pockets of his trench coat. "Like you said, I'm the boss, and I didn't feel like it." He grinned seeing her roll her eyes at him. "like I told you, I had errands to run."
"But if you don't go into work then what do I do?"
"Don't worry about it, I'll still pay you."
"Pay me for what?"
"You ask too many questions. Just be content like anyone else would if they got paid for doing nothing."
Kagome frowned. "Well, I'm not anyone else. I like to earn my keep."
"Fine." He waved his hand. "If it appeases you, I will appoint you more tasks. Would you be interested in retrieving my laundry? Or you can always go into the office and do inventory of, let's say, paperclips and push pins?"
"Uh-no, what am I, your slave?"
Sesshomaru chuckled. "Never happy, are you?"
Kagome cast a crooked grin at him. "I'll just stay at home then and get paid for it, who am I to argue with the boss after all?"
"Listen..." he spoke softly. "I've been thinking."
"Oh, can't wait to hear this." She muttered and he scowled at her. "Sorry, go ahead."
"About last night." he mentioned and waited for her to acknowledge.
Kagome's face went red with embarrassment. "Yeah…let's just forget that, ok? I was clearly not in my right mind and—"
"I'll help you." he said and walked in front of her as they turned down the last aisle.
Kagome stopped walking and stared at his back, stunned.
He looked back noticing she wasn't behind him. They both were trapped in each other's gaze for what seemed like forever.
"You will?" Kagome's voice wavered.
"On one condition." he said.
Kagome responded with alertness.
"We'll devise it well and my way."
"Wait…why the sudden change?" she asked as she cocked a brow at him.
"You obviously need closure and I need sleep. You keep me awake crying all night."
"Oh…" she said, lowering her head. "I didn't think you could hear. Wait, so…you're just doing this for me?"
"and my sleep." He added then cleared his throat. "most importantly."
After careful thought, she nodded, and they reached the end of the aisle as they made their way to the register. He snatched something from the side shelves and she nosily looked down at the cart. Seeing a box of double stuffed Oreos, she smirked. Healthy, my ass.
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
After Kagome and Sesshomaru organized the groceries into the cabinets and refrigerator, they had set out to do their own thing. Kagome went to take a shower and Sesshomaru had gone into his room to workout.
Massaging her head in the shower, Kagome allowed herself to take a deep breath and exhale all the stress she was holding in. Her mind recoiled the events from the past couple of months, all coming in at once. Her eyes began to fill with tears as she replayed the event of that night. That night, when she saw her love, whom she thought to be her soul mate, on top of her sister. She balled her hands into fists as she forcefully wiped her face from the tears and let the water run down her face. No, she told herself. No more crying. Not for him, not for anyone. She washed her hair and saw the red dye from her hair run down her body and into the drain. She would have to do a touch up again, but she considered going back to black. Though she liked the red, it didn't feel like her. She shut the water off and stood there for a moment, water dripping down her body as she breathed in deeply for relaxation. Once more, for strength. Reaching over the tub, she grabbed a towel and wrapped it around herself as she walked out of the bathroom towards her room.
She quickly got into some comfortable shorts and a white tank. Going braless, her nipples were visible through her shirt. Having a male roommate, she couldn't just leave it like that. She grabbed an old sweater with her High school's tiger mascot on the front and patted her hair dry with another towel.
On her way to the kitchen, she passed Sesshomaru's room where she heard a grunt. The door was slightly ajar, and Kagome couldn't help peek in. She looked at the bed but hadn't seen him on it and then noticed his naked arched back on the other side of the room. He was doing pull-ups on a bar he installed by the closet and grunted with each one. Kagome watched his perfectly toned biceps swell before her eyes. He stopped and reached for a sword mounted on the wall above his bed and unsheathed it. He took a deep breath, swung his body and struck the air.
Kagome told herself to walk away but she couldn't. She continued to watch him swerve on his heel, his chest bare exposing the hereditary demon marks on his ribs. His abs were glistening from sweat and she could see the V below peeking out from his sweats. Gulping and feeling hot, she forced herself to move but lost her balance and before she could catch her footing, the door swung open and the tip of a sword was inches from her face.
"It isn't nice to invade one's privacy." he teased. His expression was serious but a playful smirk broke through it. Feeling like a pervert, she tugged on her sweater.
"I just wanted to see…if you…wanted to eat anything." She gulped. She was a horrible liar. His expression confirmed it. "What are you doing?"
"Practicing."
"For?" she cocked a brow as she pulled a wet strand of hair from her face.
"Nothing in particular." he leaned against the doorway. He seemed confident in his bare skin, no insecurity whatsoever. He even seemed to enjoy her discomfort.
"Come…"
He grabbed her hand and pulled her inside his room. His warm strong hands holding her sent a shiver through her body. He grabbed another sword from a floating shelf above his bed.
"What am I doing with this?" she looked at him questionably.
"Unsheathe the sword and fight me." he said.
Kagome burst out a laugh and stopped. "Yeah...right."
He went into a fighting stance and she shook her head. "You're serious?"
Sesshomaru held his sword in front of his face.
Kagome smiled and decided to humor him. She unsheathed the sword and her smile quickly faded as she glanced at it and looked up. "It's made out of wood."
He chuckled. "To give you an actual blade would be fatuous, now come forth." he said in a calm stern voice.
"That's not fair...you have a real one."
"Because I'm no novice."
"Well, what if you cut me?"
" I won't cut you."
"Oh please…what if you make a mistake and slip, you aren't that good!" she spat with a shaky tone. She noticed he was still in a fighting stance and groaned as she decided to go for it. She went into fighting stance with her 'fake' wooden sword and held it in front of her.
Sesshomaru watched her assume her stance then snorted as he lowered his head. Given if this were an actual fight, she'd be dead in seconds. She was open for attacks in every direction from the way she was standing. He retracted the sword to his side as he walked over to her and grabbed her arms.
"What are you doing?" she asked, startled by his touch. It was so unfamiliar; his fingers were surprisingly warm. He gripped her arms and adjusted them then wrapped his hand around her neck to help with her posture. His touch prickled all her senses causing a throbbing sensation to pulse between her legs. Her breaths became unsteady as she tried to look unaffected.
"Fixing your stance. Don't expose your neck so much, tuck it in." he said, then his fingers directed her chin downward. How were his hands so soft? He looked down at her legs and she could smell the cologne off of him. She glanced down at his abs then shyly looked away as he gripped her thighs and opened her legs. She shrugged the intense feeling it brought her, and she couldn't help wonder if he was the type to be rough in bed, though he was gentle, there was definitely strength in those hands. A quick image of him tossing her on bed and having his way with her flashed across her mind sending another pulse between her legs. Why was she so sensitive to his touch? It has been a while, she thought. Before the breakup, she and Inuyasha weren't being intimate. Was it five months now since the last time she had sex?
"You need to know your best defense position and you are holding the sword wrong." he advised as he fixed her arms into the right position. He felt her body tense as he grabbed her arms, was she afraid of him? He ignored it and turned his blade the other way to avoid cutting her. "Now...come at me."
Kagome did as told but Sesshomaru did not go light on her. Within seconds, he had her against the wall.
He backed away and frowned. "You'd want to avoid being backed into a wall at all times." he went back into his stance. "again".
Kagome nodded and growled every time he pinned her against the wall. She smirked at how fast she was learning but it still didn't mean she was good. They sparred for almost an hour, the fight seeming to get intense, as if they were letting their anger out. As their fight took a more fervid turn, something about her drive and perseverance enticed him. Feeling her body against his as he pinned her down, he could feel arousal setting in. He came to a sudden stop, swung his blade and twisted his body around as he struck the blade downward in front of her chest. She gasped when she heard a rip and looked down to see the sword cut an opening down the middle of her sweater instantly exposing the tank top underneath.
"I am that good." he smirked then it faded as he noticed her hardened nipples protruding through her tank top underneath. His head snapped away and he turned around to hide his throbbing hard-on growing inside his pants. "My apologies about your sweater, I'll buy you a new one."
She tittered as she set her sword down.
"Oh, don't worry about it. It's an old gym sweater from school." she laughed as she ran her fingers through her hair. They stood silently as they both avoided each other's eyes. Kagome's eyes bulged when she realized her braless chest was visible. She wrapped the two sides of the sweater across and started walking away. "That was fun. Um…so, about dinner, I'll just order some Chinese, yeah?"
"Kagome..." his voice was soft in the quiet room. She looked over her shoulder at him.
"Prepare yourself for this vendetta. We're going to start tomorrow."
Kagome bowed her head and her expression went solemn. She closed the door behind her and went to the living room to order take out.
Sesshomaru put one hand against the window frame as he leaned on it and stared out at the moon lit sky. He cursed under his breath as he stared down at his erection. What was going on with him? This was Kagome. Why would he react this way? He groaned, feeling the discomfort his erection was giving him, begging for release. His mouth was dry as he caressed his hardened member, licking his lips at the image of Kagome's breasts. He stopped and threw his head back, frustrated by his actions. Too many flaws he has committed in one day. Flaws he taught himself to prevent throughout his years of growing up. Flaws lead to weakness and weakness lead to vulnerability. This is what he observed through others and taught himself ways to avoid such things.
Still feeling the arousal taunt him, he grabbed his towel and went to shower. He would have to take care of his erection if he were to sit with Kagome and have dinner. He couldn't allow himself to feel this way with her. It was a natural reaction, he told himself. He was over stimulated by their sword fight and titillated by the sight of her…perfect perky supple breasts. No, he scolded himself. He needed to pleasure himself right away to dismiss these concupiscent notions out of his mind. Once in the shower, he went right to pleasing himself, wanting to rid himself of the anguish and pain it was physically causing him, and once he climaxed, he realized he was thinking about her the whole time.
