Brandon sank into the cards. Barret had given him a couple of news he was working on. He still had a few questions to ask Johnson. Last time he seemed very intimidated almost regretted turning to him and Brandon didn't understand why. He hadn't talked to New York bosses about what he was working on yet. He wanted to get it out at the finished package. A hand grenade that could have had repercussions in the newspaper as well. A risky game.

"Mr. Walsh" Betty interrupted his work from the intercom.

"Tell me Betty"

"There's Mrs. Kelly Taylor"

"It's a call" Brandon took a look at his cell phone maybe he hadn't heard the phone call.

"No, SHe is here, will I let her in Mr. Walsh?"

"Yes, of course"

He was surprised. Why did Kelly come to the office?

Betty made her way and threw a mischievous look at Brandon.

"And so this is your kingdom," Kelly said, looking around.

Brandon kissed her on the cheek and Kelly appreciated it a lot. There had always been that subtle tenderness between them, that appearance that faded the poison of many days spent thinking that she was just a doll or having to reach the perfection that exhausted her.

"Come on in ," he said.

He observed the intrigued looks in the open space and struck them with his gaze.

"You're officially invited to the second barbecue at my house in a few days, kind of a welcome party for Valerie"

Brandon laughed " but come on, Steve convinced you"

Kelly looked at him raising his eyebrow "know Steve"

"Yeah," he laughed.

"But" Kelly had a little boy spirit while talking to him "I'm not here for that"

"Ah no?"

"No," Kelly smiled and stood up; she looked at the open space outside the glass door "and that's what you dreamed of?"

"More or less Kel, but that was it"

"It comes to My mind when you received no and no to your resume submissions. And instead" Kelly turned "Here you go"

Brandon stared at her with his blue eyes and barely smiled, while she gave him a much wider smile "you made it"

"It's not all gold that glitters my little Kel. What you see got a price" he now blocked her with his gaze "When you come back to your 4,000 per month apartment in Washington and find the breakfast dishes from the day you left, you don't ask yourself any questions at first; then you start asking them," he laughed.

"Everything has a price Bran," she said, because even Kel felt the weight of her choices, "we mostly go to trial and error, the moment that thing seems to us best"

"Yeah e " he replied" but I never thanked you

"For what?" She answered by barely moving her nose in a grimace that B knew very well.

"For letting me go"

"Everything has a price Bran... anyway" she resent elegantly "I would like to do a war journalism seminar for school and..."

"Oh no Kel!"

"Please please... think back to you as a boy, imagine: such a seminar, you would go crazy with joy"

Brandon put both hands crossed in front of his mouth, it's true, he would go crazy with joy, and how beautiful Kel was as she tried to bring some light and a guide, to chart a path for those kids.

Brandon hinted at a half smile "I'm nothing in front of you, know it"

"Yes," she replied.

"We have to arrange for this month, if you can. Because then I'll go back to Washington"

"I know," she replied dull, so thin that she hit Bran straight in the center and she immediately recovered "nothing beautiful lasted forever for me."

"You have a lot of beautiful things around you, you have Sammy, you have a nice house, you have a job you love; sometimes Kel, we waste time dreaming about what we don't have and we can't see what's around us, we lose track, the way. You don't know how many times it happened to me, always this heat to arrive, to emerge, this don't ask yourself, this being deaf to everything, ahead like a ram" Bran took half a ride in the swivel chair and came out of the desk space " and do you know another beautiful thing you have?"

"What?"

"A Barbecue Helper"

"Really? Who?"

"A guy I know, such Walsh, a little stiff, always with his head on the sheets, very boring, but can he make some great whiskey potatoes?"

"Ah yes? "

"Yes, yes"

"And what else can he do?"

"It's like to give you his arm" and Brandon put her the arm to which Kel clung to "and if you have two minutes he takes you out for lunch and we go to our favorite place"

"What would it be?"

"The one you dropped me in... The beach, great memories," he said with a very funny expression.

They walked to the exit of the office.

"And what do we do on the beach?"

"I don't know .. like unbridled sex in front of everyone? No?" Kel watched him with an amused air and Brandon resumed the fair walk with her on her arm "agree at noon is not a great idea.. but maybe we will fall back with a fish restaurant, two great glasses of white wine, and the sun. So much of that sun Kel, that we'll laugh at. What time do you have to go back to school?"

"15 "

"At 15," he repeated.

He continued with that ridiculous and funny voice towards Betty too.

"Betty? I'm out for lunch with my beautiful girlfriend"

Kel laughed.

"As Mr. Walsh wants," Betty replied cheerfully.
