Hey Fairy tail fans, welcome back to friendship, family, love, and the Fairy tail today; we have finally reached twenty chapters, and I wanted to do something special, seeing as we are twenty chapters in and I haven't done it in a while, and that is a Natsu and Wendy centric chapter, haven't had one of these since chapter six. I wanted to put this out before the new year, but we all see how that went anyway. I hope you enjoy the chapter

Summary: After an argument with Erza about participating in upcoming S-class trials, Wendy storms off, and Natsu goes after her to make sure she doesn't get into too much trouble (characters might be OOC in this chapter, but whatever)

pairings: Natsu and Wendy (brother and sister)

Natsu jerked back as he watched Wendy land a pretty good kick on a tree sending it flying into the air. He had to give Grandeeney some credit. She taught the kid well, and she had the strength to show to he watched as she walked in circles literal steam coming from her ears as she clenched her tiny fist so hard that a part of him wondered if she might draw blood before long she kicked another tree causing it to topple over as she let out a scream in frustration as she sat next to the tree that she had mercilessly kicked down, as she let out a breath of air before leading back "I'm calm now" Wendy said

Natsu laughed even at fourteen Wendy was just a calm and gentle soul, but her outburst here proved that she was just as powerful as he was. he sighed as he walked up to her. He came out only after watching her storm from the guild as he watched her bounce between fury and anger.

"I just think you need a little more time," Erza said,

"What do you mean a little more time" Wendy screamed. "I'm not a kid anymore, Erza," she shouted

"Please, Wendy, calm down," Carla had said, "and I agree with Erza."

"That not fair," Wendy said. "I'm just as strong as anyone else on that list," Wendy shouted. What was she talking about, you ask? It was that time of year again, the year of the fairy tale S-class trials, and of course, Wendy was hoping to get on the list, but according to Erza here, she still wasn't ready, not after everything she had seen.

"Look, Wendy," Erza said, "I just think there are a few more things you can go over before" Erza didn't get to finish cause Wendy had already stormed off she sighed as she went away Natsu, of course, having overheard the conversation taking a glance with Gajeel both came to the same conclusion.

'You check on her,' Gajeel said in his mind, 'she'll trust you a little more.'

and that was how he ended up here as he walked next to her, sitting down as she hugged her kneed right now he would be her soundboard a part of him could understand not getting chosen for the S-class trial he remembered that he would kick up a storm and typically be knocked out by Erza around the time of year he laughed at the memories as he looked at Wendy who admittedly took it better than he did she left the guild before she went on her temper tantrum

"Can you believe this" Wendy said, "after everything I've been through, dragons, edolas Tenrou," she muttered, "and she says I'm not ready for the S-class trials" Wendy looked away? "After everything, they still want to treat me. Like I'm the same girl you brought from Cait shelter."

"Come on," Natsu said, "you know that's not true," he said. "Erza just concerned for you," Natsu said "no matter how strong you get, she's always going to feel responsible, especially since she was the one who brought you here" Wendy grumbled something as Natsu laughed "you'll get your chance, kid," Natsu said if it were up to him, he would have let her take the S-class trials after she gained dragon force hell you can't get any more ready than that.

"don't tell me. I gotta be patient," Wendy muttered. "I've been nothing but patient," Wendy said "hell, you and Gajeel have become S-class wizards," Wendy said. "Gray, Lucy," she said, leaning back, "I feel like I'm getting left behind."

"Come on, kid, you're putting too much pressure on yourself," he said

"You always say that," Wendy said, leaning back allowing herself to lean on this shoulder. "I guess I just want to feel like I'm going somewhere."

Natsu wrapped his arm around her as the air between them went silent while Wendy hid it better than he and Gajeel did. She was still like them. A dragon raised her, and dragons by nature loved challenges to push themselves even further to see just how strong they were. It was many downsides of the magic in his mind because it was an instinct. They could not help the thrill of battle called to them, like the smell of food "might skip the S-class trials this year," Natsu muttered.

"You skip the S-class trials," Wendy said, trying to hide her laughter "why might you do that, oh brother, mine."

"Yeah," Natsu said, "gotta make sure you don't do something stupid," he said as Wendy laughed as she laid against him.

"Or hear me out here," Wendy said, "you convince Erza to let me go on the trials."

"so I have to pick between either A," Natsu asked, "going back to the guild talking with Erza possibly getting into a fight with here cause lets both be honest we're both hard-headed, I can deal with at or B I can choose to stay behind and keep you company," Natsu said as he looked up "what a tough decision I have to make here kiddo."

"I thought I told you top calling me that," Wendy said

"Hey, no matter how much you grow up," Natsu said, "you'll always be the little sister of the group," Natsu said

"I know," Wendy said

"So come on," Natsu said, "let us go get some grub," he said, "I can tell that all your rampaging has you hungry as hell," Natsu said

"Yeah," Wendy said, "no fancy restaurants," Wendy said, "don't think I can take another one of those"

"don't worry, we're going to the usual place," Natsu said

"You know Carla will not like that you too me there," Wendy said

"Eh," Natsu said, "you need comfort food," Natsu said, giving her a big smile. "So, you are coming or not."

"Yeah, sure, why not," Wendy said "give me a week with my big brother to myself," Wendy said as she got up smiling. The night ended with more greasy food than either could stomach, but in the end, they were happy. besides, come next year, Wendy would earn that spot on the S-class list, but this year, she would spend that week with her big brother, and you know what that all she needed

And here we are, twenty chapters finally, and good news, I already have the next chapter for this story planned, don't worry, it will be up soon. Hopefully, I'll tell you more about what it is when I get there, maybe before the end of the month. Then again, it is February anyway I'll see you then.
