SCP-3922 Test Logs: Happy Tree Friends: Internet Season 2
Subject: "Happy Trails, Part Two", September 1, 2002
Interference Point: Beginning of the short.
Result: As a new opening, the show's altered opening changes as well. After the episode title, an additional page turns to reveal a trio of bears dressed in SCP-3922-A uniforms, featured under the name "Three Moons Health Safety Officers", and with the Three Moons Initiative flag as a backdrop. After that, the show continues as normal. Due to the ending of Part One being drastically different from the original, this video's plot changes completely. The episode begins at the Three Moons campsite, where SCP-3922-As invite the cast in, with the notable inclusion of Cro-Marmot (who has since been extracted from his ice cube and is moving normally but without his club), Lammy (with the notable absence of Mr. Pickles), and Truffles, the latter two not having been introduced in canon at this point. The episode proceeds with a montage of HSOs teaching the cast about safety and wise decision-making, lecturing the naughtier ones (Cuddles, Lifty and Shifty), the fitting of prosthetic eyes for the Mole, therapy sessions for Pop, Flaky, Nutty, and Splendid, etc. At the end of the montage, the cast is seen piling into the bus, bidding farewell to the SCP-3922-As, and the episode ends with the bus riding off into the sunset. The moral "Give but never give up!" is replaced with a PSA on General Safety.
Note: Every episode from then on that features the "Three Moons Health Safety Officers" will always introduce them after every other character with the words "and… Three Moons Health Safety Officers", removing any instance of "and…" from whoever was originally the last character in the roll call. Just like last season, the original moral is replaced with their own PSA(s), and the episode ends with the Three Moons Initiative's end card. Future appearances of Cro-Marmot will be out of his ice block.
It looks like this episode will heavily influence Happy Tree Friends moving forward. - Dr. Shizuno.
Subject: "Eye Candy", September 8, 2002
Interference Point: When Toothy ends up with his lollipop in his eye socket.
Result: Toothy notably doesn't forcibly pull out the lollipop that would end up with his eye popping out. Instead, he takes out a phone and calls for help as he sobs. A Three Moons Health Safety Officer arrives less than a minute later and carefully extracts the lollipop without any further injury. After chastising Toothy for not observing his surroundings, the HSO commends him for calling for help as soon as possible. The episode then ends with an iris out on Toothy's head. The moral "Keep your Eye on the prize!" is replaced with a PSA on Eye Socket Injuries.
Note: The ripple effects of SCP-3922A's actions have become apparent after the last episode. - Dr. Shizuno
Subject: "Rink Hijinks", September 15, 2002
Interference Point: Beginning of the short.
Result: When Flaky enters the scene, she's not only wearing a helmet, but a special Three Moons-branded cape draped over her quills in order to keep from poking others with them. This cape is seen on her person in all future episodes. Disco Bear bumps her further into the skating rink as normal, but at the scene with Lumpy, who lacks the earmuffs and skis here, he notably moves the floor buffer out of Flaky's path so she doesn't trip over it, averting her canonical death by it. The scene changes to a Three Moons Health Safety Officer chastising Disco Bear for his behavior towards Flaky—who is seen gaining confidence as she skates—and for not wearing a helmet. The last scene is of Cub playing with the claw machine. He gets a plushie shaped like a HSO, and the episode ends. The moral "What goes around comes around!" is replaced with a PSA on Skating Rink Conduct.
Subject: "Flippin' Burgers", September 22, 2002
Interference Point: When Flippy enters the fast food store and witnesses the ketchup on Giggles.
Result: A Three Moons Health Safety Officer enters with Flippy, recognizes what's about to happen, speaks the word ██████, and Flippy returns to his senses as the HSO clarifies what had happened between Cuddles and Giggles. The pair approach the counter and order plain burgers with only mustard instead of ketchup. Episode ends with a zoom out on the store just as Pop and Cub enter it. The moral "You are what you eat!" is replaced with a PSA on Fast Food Store Conduct.
Subject: "Get Whale Soon", September 22, 2002
Interference Point: At the end credits.
Result: Notably, the Three Moons Health Safety Officers aren't introduced in this episode. The moral "Don't bite off more than you can chew!" is replaced with a PSA on What To Do When Inside A Whale. Otherwise, the entire episode remains unaltered.
(A/N: I honestly don't know what to write here. Yes, there's animal injury, but that's in response to being swallowed alive. We don't know what Lumpy did to end up in the whale, and Russell was clearly unhinged and traumatised after accidentally killing Lumpy.)
Subject: "Snip Snip Hooray!", October 6, 2002
Interference Point: Just as Pop starts cutting Cub's hair.
Result: Rather than start, Pop makes a call on his phone. Wipe cut to show a Three Moons Health Safety Officer joining Pop and Cub as she instructs Pop on the proper procedure of performing a haircut (complete with clean sheet, and bunching up Cub's hair to ensure his ears don't get cut in the process, while making an aside on the mass of hair on Cub's head). Pop performs the haircut under the HSO's supervision, and no injuries occur. The episode ends with Pop looking between the photo of Cub and Cub post-haircut and looking pleased with the results. The moral "Don't run with scissors!" is replaced with a PSA on Haircutting At Home.
Subject: "Eyes Cold Lemonade", October 13, 2002
Interference Point: Beginning of the short.
Result: A Three Moons Health Safety Officer is seen as Petunia and Giggles' customer before he notices the shoddy quality of their lemonade stand, pointing out the sign at risk of falling down any minute, among other things, including improper placement where there's little chance of customers coming by. A montage of the three plus more SCP-3922-As repairing and refurbishing the stand plays out, and ends with a much improved lemonade stand. The HSO and SCP-3922-As then purchase cups and drink the lemonade. After sighing in contentment, the episode ends. The moral "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!" is replaced with a PSA on Proper Stand Construction.
Subject: "Milkin' It", October 20, 2002
Interference Point: Beginning of the short.
Result: The start of the short is replaced with a scene of Lifty and Shifty in Lumpy's farm with Lumpy and a SCP-3922-A instance as they make a business deal. There is a fair amount of raised voices, but it thankfully doesn't get violent. The negotiation takes five (5) minutes long. It ends with Lifty and Shifty walking out of the farm with a leashed cow in tow. The episode ends. The moral "Don't cry over spilled milk!" is replaced with a PSA on Don't Steal, Negotiate.
Subject: "Out of Sight, Out of Mime", October 27, 2002
Interference Point: Beginning of the short.
Result: As a Halloween special, the introduction bit for the Three Moons Health Safety Officers doesn't show up, but they do show up at the short itself dressed as medieval knights holding banners depicting the Three Moons Initiative flag. Nutty has a more modest haul compared to his gigantic sack in the original. Cro-Marmot is going out as himself. In place of Fliqpy digging up a hole in the graveyard is a campsite where Flippy and his HSO minder talk over roasted marshmallows. The Mole shows up with not only advanced prosthetic eyes, but a hearing aid as well, both of which will be present on him in all future episodes. When Mime shows up for trick-or-treating, he immediately understands and drops a few candies into his bag. Joyed by his haul, Mime leaves the scene just as Giggles, Flaky, and Lumpy (without his scythe, which was likely confiscated given it was real). After the three get their candies from the Mole, the episode ends with an iris out on a jack-o-lantern. The moral "Keep your chin up!" is replaced with a PSA on Trick-or-Treating.
Subject: "Class Act", November 3, 2002
Interference Point: When Lumpy gives directions to Lifty and Shifty.
Result: As a Christmas special, the introduction bit for the Three Moons Health Safety Officers doesn't show up, but they do show up at the short itself scattered amongst the audience. In place of Flaky, Lifty and Shifty shake a bag with confetti, which so happens to look like . Thanks to his treatment in earlier episodes, Nutty doesn't bite onto Sniffles, and so the cavalcade of disaster that happens in canon doesn't occur. The play proceeds normally without any further complications, showing a generic "True Meaning of Christmas" story. The play ends with a roll call of the players as they bow. The episode ends with a fade to the school theater from outside, a pan up to the starry sky, and fade to black. The moral "It is better to give than to receive!" is replaced with a PSA on School Play Safety.
Note: You know, now that I know what the play was going to be, the I personally prefer the original. - Researcher Timer
Subject: "The Way You Make Me Wheel", December 8, 2002
Interference Point: When Lumpy sees he's about to run over a line of ducks.
Result: Instead of swerving, Lumpy decelerates his vehicle as he sets down the razor on the passenger seat and gently turns so that he doesn't run them over. He slows down to a halt as he waits for the line to pass through. Handy on his tow truck arrives at this time, indicating that he didn't actually come over in response to Lumpy's accident, and he's followed by a police car with the Three Moons emblem. As Handy and Lumpy greet each other, the Health Safety Officer approaches Lumpy as well, notices the razor, chastises him for shaving while on the road, and hands him a ticket with a warning to pay for his transgression in the station. One by one, the three vehicles drive off, and the episode ends with an iris out on the duck line. The moral "One good turn deserves another!" is replaced with a PSA on Safe Things To Do While Driving.
Subject: "Better Off Bread", April 20, 2003
Interference Point: Beginning of the short.
Result: The pair of jetpack-wearing SCP-3922-As who accompany Splendid are at his house about to have the squirrel hero's bread. When he hears the call for help, one of the SCP-3922-As stays behind to watch the bread while the other goes with Splendid. The SCP-3922-A accompanying Splendid gives him precise instructions on how to rescue Giggles. Once Giggles is successfully rescued, upon sensing Splendid sense another source of distress, the SCP-3922-A makes a call, has Splendid hand Giggles over to him, ties her to a Fulton balloon, and lets her go as the pair take off. Giggles is retrieved shortly after by a Three Moons-branded airplane and is taken to safety. Meanwhile, when the SCP-3922-A and Splendid arrive at the oil tanker, the former tells the latter to extract the animals to a safer location, during which he makes another call. Several Three Moons aircraft shortly arrive on the scene to clean up the wildlife, clean up the oil, seal up the tanker, and tow it away. When Toothy's distress cry for the oncoming meteor is heard, Splendid takes off while his SCP-3922-A companion makes another call. Splendid approaches the meteor and destroys it as usual. Back on Earth, the SCP-3922-As have set up a laser system that rapid-fires to vaporize all the meteor shards left by Splendid's act. Upon returning to his home, the SCP-3922-A who stayed behind has since taken out the bread, put it on the table, cut it into slices, and was on the phone. Splendid is relieved that his bread is safe, but the home-stayed SCP-3922-A scolds him for collateral damage by smashing the meteor, forcing the SCP-3922-A on damage control. As punishment, he's not getting any of the bread until dinner. He also states that Three Moons will know if he attempts to reverse time. The episode then ends with an "iris out" on the bread. The moral "Time heals all wounds!" is replaced with a PSA on Superheroics and Multitasking.
Note: This is a surprisingly good episode. - Researcher Timer
Subject: "I Get a Trick Out of You", April 27, 2003
Interference Point: When Lumpy poofs onto the stage.
Result: A Three Moons Health Safety Officer is seen on the sidelines of the stage in case anything goes wrong. When he decides to go for the "sawing a person in half" trick, the HSO asks if he has "all the proper tools to perform this trick safely", to which he says he actually does. In a deviation from the original, false legs used for the trick made to look like Cuddles' own feet are swiftly generated with a Three Moons 3D printer behind the scenes, and placed in the box (similarly modified to stage magician standards) with the real Cuddles, who's instructed to curl himself out of the saw's path once it comes down. The viewer gets to see a behind-the-scenes view of the trick as it's performed by Lumpy with assistance from the HSO. The trick is performed without a hitch, the false legs are hidden away, and Cuddles and Lumpy bow as the audience applauds. The episode ends with "iris outs" on Lumpy, Cuddles, and the HSO. The moral "Two wrongs don't make a right!" is replaced with a PSA on Proper Magician Trick Preparation.
Note: I never figured the Three Moons guys to have an appreciation for magic tricks. Shows what I know. - Researcher Timer
Note: We had to skip "Asbestos I Can Do", which was marked Episode 40 on the playlist, since that was a montage.
Subject: "Shard at Work", May 4, 2003
Interference Point: Beginning of the short.
Result: Notably, the Three Moons Health Safety Officers aren't introduced in this episode. Thanks to his prosthetic arms, Handy is able to change the lightbulbs without any problems. The episode ends with an iris out on the changed lightbulb. The moral "The glass is always half full!" is replaced with a PSA on Light Bulb Changing.
Note: That's gotta be the shortest HTF episode ever thanks to common sense and SCP-3922. - Researcher Timer
Subject: "Water Way to Go", May 11, 2003
Interference Point: At the part where Cub is poking at the starfish with a stick.
Result: A lifeguard chair is seen with a Three Moons Health Safety Officer sitting atop it. When Pop's soda can starts pressuring itself onto Cub, the HSO immediately jumps off and arrives to remove the can. She promptly asks Pop where he purchased the drink, since it's a very dangerous item to possess. Later, when Pop decides to go order ice cream, the HSO, back on her chair, calls at him to remove the sand-buried Cub first since high tide is incoming. He promptly obeys, leaves Cub with the HSO, and goes to the ice cream truck. He buys three ice cream cones from Cro-Marmot, then heads back to the lifeguard chair, where he shares his food to Cub and the HSO. Iris out on the three licking their ice creams. The moral "Keep your Head above water!" is replaced with a PSA on Beach Safety.
Note: No matter how many times it happens, it feels strange seeing SCP-3922-As as regular people rather than military intervention. - Researcher Timer
Subject: "Out on a Limb", May 18, 2003
Interference Point: When Lumpy takes out his items.
Result: In addition to the spoon, button, and paperclip, there's a cellphone. Lumpy uses the cellphone to call for help. One screen wipe later, Three Moons Health Safety Officers arrive on a helicopter. One rappels down with a laser cutter to free Lumpy, while the aircraft reveals a weapon that telekinetically lifts the log. Once Lumpy is out of harm's way, he's given a splint over his injured leg, then is extracted to the helicopter. The episode ends with an iris out on the helicopter flying off into the moonlight. The moral "The bigger they are, the harder they fall!" is replaced with a PSA on Freeing Trapped Limbs.
Subject: "Keepin' It Reel", June 8, 2003
Interference Point: Beginning of the short.
Result: A Three Moons Health Safety Officer accompanies Flippy, who is able to keep the Fliqpy persona from surfacing. He also takes the time to quiet Mime as the film featuring Buddhist Monkey plays. Notably, Lumpy has a prosthetic right leg, seemingly as a continuity nod to the previous episode where his leg got impaled by a tree branch, and it will be seen in all future episodes. Petunia, Flaky, Cuddles, and Toothy all take their seats without incident. Once the episode-within-an-episode ends, all the patrons leave, making very little mess as they do. The episode itself then ends with an iris out on the last person out; Flippy. The moral "A picture is worth a thousand words" is replaced with a PSA on Cinema Conduct.
Subject: "A Hard Act to Swallow", September 21, 2003
Interference Point: During the start of the "rescue mission".
Result: In place of the fade in where Sniffles wakes to find himself nailed to the tree, he instead wakes to find the ants that tormented him being blockaded by ant SCP-3922-As, both sides looking tense as if a battle is close to breaking out. A Three Moons Health Safety Officer next to explains that they're trying to rescue the ant he just ate. The Ant family want to torture and kill Sniffles, while the SCP-3922-A ants just wish to limit it to extraction. The HSO then gets Sniffles calm and to open his orifice as an ant SCP-3922-A enters. A minute later, the Baby Ant is extracted and returned to his family. The mother Ant and her other children are thankful as they are ushered back to their anthill. As for Sniffles, he's cuffed and taken away for attempted murder by consumption and the HSO warns him against getting involved with any more ants, given how things went the last two times. The moral "Follow your Heart!" is replaced with a PSA on Sapient Animal Relations.
Note: The arrest on Sniffles is expected, and matches usual SCP-3922-A behavior. I half expected a fight to break out between the ants, though. - Dr, Shizuno
Subject: "Let It Slide", September 28, 2003
Interference Point: Beginning of the short.
Result: The water slide has been renovated and reinforced to better quality than in canon. Three Moons Health Safety Officers are present to ensure the slide and pool are safe. Flaky is wearing a Three Moons-brand swimsuit that also covers up her quills to protect herself and the slide. No screws come loose when Lumpy slides down thanks to the improved quality, and an HSO has made sure to keep Cub out of the landing zone—which is outlined with swimming pool safety rope and floats—when Lumpy pops out, averting Cub's bifurcation in canon. Lumpy still ends up losing his clothes and accidentally streaking Giggles, in which a HSO moves in with a towel to cover himself up, thus he does not spin the water valve, which is what led to Flaky's death in canon. Flaky and Cuddles take turns sliding down without incident, and the short ends with Cuddles emerging from the slide and an iris out on him. The moral "Don't forget to wear sunblock!" is replaced with a PSA on Water Slide Safety.
Subject: "Icy You", December 22, 2004
Interference Point: Beginning of the short,
Result: Notably, the Three Moons Health Safety Officers aren't introduced in this episode. Notably, Nutty actually has money to spend, and Lumpy doesn't have his tongue stuck on the hotdog rolling machine. Nutty makes a transaction consisting of sugar free candies, biscuits, and a slushie. After paying Lumpy, he leaves the store, and the episode ends with an iris out on the door. The moral "Feed a cold, starve a fever!" is replaced with a PSA on Convenience Store Conduct.
Subject: "Hello Dolly", October 3, 2004
Interference Point: Near the beginning of the short.
Result: Notably, the Three Moons Health Safety Officers aren't introduced in this episode. Because the Cursed Idol has long since been dealt with all the way back in "Crazy Ant-ics", no disasters occur. Instead of a leaking fire hydrant (which is properly sealed here), Cub is playing with the HSO plushie he had won back at "Rink Hijinks". Disco Bear's event remains unchanged except for the lack of his death scene. The episode ends with an iris out on Petunia sleeping peacefully. The moral "All that glitters is not gold!" is replaced with a warning of the Cursed Idol's effects.
Subject: "Remains To Be Seen", September 27, 2003
Interference Point: When Flippy's truck appears.
Result: Flippy's Three Moons Health Safety Officer is seated in the passenger seat, and the vats of hazardous materials are sealed tight and have the appropriate warning symbols. As always, the HSO keeps the Fliqpy persona from surfacing. Once all the trick-or-treaters have crossed the street, Flippy resumes driving. The episode ends with an iris out on the vats. The moral "Live and let live!" is replaced with a PSA on Proper Hazardous Waste Disposal.
Subject: "Stealing the Spotlight", November 9, 2003
Interference Point: When Pop smacks Cub with a ladder, knocking off one of his teeth.
Result: Instead of trying to handle it himself, Pop takes Cub with him and leaves the house. Later scenes reveal they went to the dentist, who's "played" by a Three Moon Health Safety Officer. Instead of "eating" Lumpy's lights, Nutty goes to him and offers his assistance. Because of the dental appointment, Pop is unable to finish with his Christmas lights, Lumpy isn't driven to jealousy, and his modest setup thanks to Nutty's aid is the one that draws more attention. Pop and Cub later return, see Lumpy's lights, and enjoy the display. The episode ends with an iris out on them. The moral "Always look on the bright side of life!" is replaced with a PSA on Proper Christmas Light Placement.
Subject: "Ski Ya, Wouldn't Wanna Be Ya!", January 4, 2004
Interference Point: When Flaky is brought up on the ski lift.
Result: When Flaky falls unconscious, it's only for a few hours. The lift instead leads to a hill of more reasonable height and a cabin set up there by the Three Moons Initiative. The original turns out to have been closed off and shut down due to dangerous altitudes and lack of supervision. Once Flaky arrives, a Three Moons Health Safety Officer notices her and comes over to pick her up. The next day, Flaky awakes in a cabin room, where the HSO is tending to her. They later take a ride down the hill on a snowmobile. Despite the safe pace, Flaky is screaming before the HSO instructs her to just cuddle against her back and bury her face in. Flaky complies, but continues shivering all the way down. Once at the bottom, at the HSO's notification, Flaky gets off and thanks her for the ride. In the background, Disco Bear is being taken away for sexual harassment and accidental attempted murder (of Flaky). The episode ends with an iris out on Flaky. The moral "Put your best foot forward!" is replaced with a PSA on Ski Resort Safety.
Subject: "Blind Date", February 22, 2004
Interference Point: Beginning of the short.
Result: Because the Mole isn't blind anymore thanks to his prosthetics, he rendezvous with Giggles as scheduled. The event proceeds smoothly, and the Mole takes Giggles to the same places he takes Lumpy in the original. The date itself goes well enough, though Mole still drives a bit recklessly, and the canonical deaths of Handy, Petunia, and Disco Bear are averted. However, in the end, upon reaching Giggles' home, she isn't satisfied enough with the date to continue dating the Mole, but she assures him that they can remain friends. She kisses the Mole on the cheek before leaving, and the episode ends with an iris out on his blushing face. The moral "Love is Blind" is replaced with a PSA on Courting Etiquette.
Subject: "Suck It Up", February 22, 2004
Interference Point: Beginning of the short.
Result: A Three Moons Health Safety Officer is sitting by Sniffles in bed. He wards off the Baby Ant from stealing the cookies, warning him to cease this harassment or else there will be ramifications, and also keeps Sniffles from getting up. When the ants start escalating their attempts to pilfer food from Sniffles and torment him, ant SCP-3922-A instances show up to intervene, instantly neutralizing and taking them away for unprovoked assault. Fade to a few days later, and Sniffles is in healthy condition once more. He sees the HSO out the door, and the episode ends with an "iris out" on Sniffles. The moral "Follow your nose!" is replaced with a PSA on Bedside Manners.
Note: That one HSO is pretty protective of Sniffles, huh? - Researcher Timer
Note: The two parts of this episode have been joined together for a consistent narrative.
Subject: "From A to Zoo", December 15, 2005
Interference Point: Beginning of the short.
Result: A quartet of Three Moons Health Safety Officers are also present in the bus ride. The zoo has also been revamped in accordance to OSHA and Three Moons standards, complete with wider enclosures, more secure fencing, and all sorts of staff typical in zoos. Upon entering the zoo and reaching the signpost, the HSOs keep Cuddles, Toothy, Sniffles, Petunia, and Flaky from going off on their own. Each "kid" was assigned a guardian, everyone except Petunia (who gets Lumpy) gets an HSO to keep watch over them. The HSOs have no difficulty in keeping Cuddles, Toothy, and Sniffles under control, while Flaky and Petunia are content with staying with their guardians. The zoo trip proceeds without any incident, with all the animals visited. The first "to be continued" ends at the baboon exhibit where Sniffles aims his camera at it, and the second part resumes to him looking at his taken picture. The scene eventually fades to the nonad all making it back to the bus, Lumpy taking attendance and seeing everyone present before leaving. The episode ends with an iris out on the bus riding off into the sunset. The moral "Don't bite the hand that feeds you!" is replaced with a PSA on Zoo Conduct.
Nightelf37: And that's it for now. Next time, instead of Season 3, we're taking a detour to the TV Season. See ya on Third!
