All around, the six members of the Super Hero Girls moaned in pain. It wasn't just them. Other heroes, the Justice League, The Invincibros, Katana, were scattered across the city, beaten. Never before had they fought such a terrifying being, one who possessed such terrifying power.
A masked young man in a purple suit, glowing with power, walked towards them slowly. He waved his hand, and without warning, a portal opened up beneath each of them. Too weak to resist, they fell through.
The portals all lead to one place- right in front of their undefeated adversary.
Supergirl smirked, though weakly, and grinned. She stood up shakily, but stand up she did.
"Ha! You let me in this close? I-"
Before she could even hope to finish her sentence, the young man held up a chunk of kryptonite. Supergirl fell to her knees. "Okay," she groaned out, "I guess you were ready for that."
He placed the kryptonite in a portal, and it fell directly in front of Supergirl- and five more pieces fell around her, with an energy cage opened around her and the stones, effectively trapping her inside.
"Supergirl!" Zatanna cried out. "Eerf Lrigrepus morf reh-"
Without warning, a portal opened near Zatanna, shooting out a muzzle, one with an intricate lock. Swiftly, it wrapped around her face, shutting her mouth. As her hands reached for it, similar handcuffs shot through the portal, forcing her hands to the ground, incapacitating her fully.
Green Lantern struggled to clear her mind, and make a construct, but before her ring could even light up, she was hit with a yellow gas. As she coughed, she barely noticed as her ring was stolen, right off her hand.
She did, however, notice as another pair of handcuffs shot out, forcing her hands together, and her to the ground.
Batgirl was a bit more prepared, forcing her beaten body to move from portal after portal, flipping away. But as she jumped away from one, another appeared behind her, shooting goo at her hands and feet. Batgirl landed hard as the goo stuck to the ground, a firm gelatin.
Try as she might to pull away, she just couldn't do it.
Wonder Woman, on the other hand, was blasted at through her portals. She deftly deflected all the beams with her bracelets.
She glared at her attacker, weaving away from the blasts, before, without warning, they stopped. Wonder Woman looked around, confused, but smiled confidently. "Ha! Is that the best you can do?" She taunted.
The man in the purple suit chuckled, before pulling his hand from behind his back. In his hand was Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth. The warrior girl's eyes widened as she looked at her waist, seeing that her weapon was, indeed, gone.
"Hmmm… Nah," her opponent stated, twirling the rope around, "I got so much more."
While she was distracted, her opponent stuck her with a bolt to the back, stunning her, knocking her onto the ground.. He promptly flashed over, and hogtied the warrior princess with her own greatest weapon.
Wonder Woman sighed aloud. "The Lasso of Truth compels me to tell the truth." Her adversary glanced at her, honestly curious about what she was going to say.
"This is a new low."
He chuckled at that, before looking at the sixth and final member of the Super Hero Girls.
Bumblebee.
She tried to look even a little confident, but it was a tall order, especially when her enemy had just beaten all of her friends. Especially when it was done so easily.
He snorted, then looked away from her, seeming to bask in his victory over the others. Bumblebee actually felt herself getting upset, indignant. Was she that little of a threat? She primed her stingers, pointing them at the boy.
Before she could attack, she noticed Wonder Woman shaking her head. The other girl mouthed words, over and over.
Bumblebee struggled to translate, but she soon understood her orders- 'Retreat for now. Enemy too prepared. Most likely trying to bait you right now. Fall back, and wait for another chance."
Bumblebee grit her teeth. She would be forced to abandon her friends for a moment, but if she could help some of the other heroes recover… Superior numbers didn't exactly sound so bad.
As quietly as she could, she shrank, and prepared to fly- before a new voice rang out.
"Don't move."
Bumblebee's body immediately stopped. She then straightened out, hovering in place. She looked around in fear, not understanding the situation. She began to hyperventilate.
"Calm down."
And just like that, she did. Her breathing was calm, just like that. She blinked. What was happening?
"Come here."
Karen automatically unshrank, and she walked, steadily, right to her enemy. Every time she tried to fight, her mind easily pushed back her thoughts, her responses, and moved ahead.
She stopped, right in front of the man. He snapped his fingers, shoving Wonder Woman aside with a flash of energy. The warrior princess rolled to the side, getting a good look at the situation and glared at her enemy. She had already figured it out.
"What have you done to Bumblebee, Jimmy?!" She demanded, her rage, her hate, greater than it had ever been. He was controlling her friend, she just knew it.
The boy, named Jimmy, chuckled lightly, before snapping again, and a glowing throne appeared behind him. He sat down- and took off his mask. A mess of wild red hair was brushed back, and green eyes glanced at her.
"Nothing you can undo." He said simply. "It's too late." He patted his leg, looking pointedly at Bumblebee. She blinked, before making her way to him, sitting in his lap. She made herself comfortable, oddly feeling… at home.
"She's belonged with Doctor Impossible for months." Everyone was floored. Wonder Woman was the first to recover. She thrashed in her bonds. "You lie! She would have left the moment she realized who you were!" She snarled, her beautiful features twisted into a face of pure hate.
The boy smiled mockingly. "Fraid not. In fact…," He reached over, took Bumblebee's chin, staring at her face. "I highly doubt that I would be where I am if it weren't for her."
"W-wh-what did you do to me…? What do you mean by any of that?!" the young girl trembled. She was so scared at how easily her body accepted his orders, his commands. By his cryptic information.
Doctor Impossible smiled. "Girls, girls, please. I have the story." He placed a hand against her helmet, a shock running through it at contact. This shock touched Karen's brain, surging through her mind
Bumblebee's eyes widened as she remembered… everything. And she knew he was right. She was a causal factor.
Doctor Impossible smiled at the other heroes, all of whom shot him death glares. "Well, if you must know," he began, rubbing Karen's head affectionately, "it started like this..."
