Out of a Boom-Tube, Jimmy Olsen fell. He fell flat on his face. He groaned in pure frustration at that.

"How am I not better at this? I've done it so many times at this point," he grumbled.

He was the culmination of all the power of the Mother Boxes, and he'd possessed all their knowledge. And he'd still lost to the Wonders of the World. And he'd been trapped by Alan Scott. Even after the Green Lantern had given up his power, he'd remained trapped within the tomb made up of that energy, like a fly in amber.

The actions of Fury, opening her mighty casket, had freed him from the Green Lantern's power. The energy of the artifact had washed over Jimmy's energy shell prison, protecting him from the reality warping effects until the re-emergence broke him out. Ironically, his prison had protected him before it failed. He had been kept safe by his own prison.

He smiled at that thought- Even the mighty Green Lantern's power wasn't infallible. That was good to know.

He'd had to lie low and keep an immensely low profile- but he eventually made enough alterations to his Mother Box to get off world- to another Earth entirely.

But this was the rub- the transfer was almost random. He had been sent through hundreds of Earths at this point. He was a few years older, and he wasn't entirely sure when his aging would slow. But to where he was now, the young New God had no clue. He would have to risk a connection to the internet, and quite possibly more to distinguish differences between the Earths prior, and this new one.

Jimmy brushed himself off. It was fine. No matter where he was, Doctor Impossible would not be caught unprepared.

He was in no way prepared for what he was looking at. Younger versions of heroes, of the Wonders, of the League, existing into Early teens, and villains in almost the same position.

Fury's Mother, Diana of Themyscira, was a pure teenager, who led the "Super Hero Girls". She seemed to lack a majority of her full power, however. And her teammates…

Kara Danvers. Supergirl, in this world. Powerful, arrogant, and less intelligent than normal. A punk.

Barbara Gordon. Batgirl. Clever, inventive, a Batman fangirl, but she wouldn't shut up. A clever chatterbox.

Jessica Cruz. This Earth's Green Lantern. Lacking the full power that Alan possessed, but still, she'd be powerful if she cut loose. A pacifist. Not a clever enough one if she couldn't use the ring to incapacitate an opponent swiftly.

Zee Zatara. Zatanna. Magic. Able to manipulate the very laws of the world, to an extent. But vain, arrogant. Family issues involved, apparently- her mother, Sindella had apparently left.

Karen Beecher. Bumblebee. This one was shy, and frightened. But also, bold and intelligent, perhaps more so than Batgirl. Her suit, however, was riddled with inefficient weapons and tools, likely a result of the poor materials used to build it. Looking at her, she was more dangerous than even she assumed, especially with her shrinking tech…

Superman, Clark Kent, was, once again, alive here. But… a bit of a showoff.

Hal Jordan, Barry Allen, Carter Hall, Oliver Queen (so weird to see him in green), and… Garth. The Invincibros (Cough, cough- Super Hero Boys.) Almost idiots, but an excellent support. Each one was uniquely powerful.

The Justice League... equal to the Super Hero Girls it terms of ability, in some ways, but lacking in membership, and unity...

Jimmy shook his head. No matter. He smiled. Maybe he could work with this. They were mostly his age, they weren't well focused. They likely didn't know about him. He could set up here!

His smile dropped into a frown as a thought ran through- he would need a base of operations. He could build one, sure, but not without attracting attention. And he couldn't allow that. Powerful as he was, there were too many heroes.

He would need to lay low, build his empire in secret. But he needed a place to do that from. But where could he carry out his plans unmolested?

He had hidden in almost plain sight last time, and that had actually worked out. He could try that again. What he needed was a person who could be his shield. Someone far above suspicion if anything strange happened around Metropolis.

He blinked. So obvious.

He pulled up images of the Super Hero Girls. They were premiere heroes in the city, while the League lived outside the city for the most part. And the boys were somewhat... unreliable. If he was alongside one of the girls, as long as he was careful…

Jimmy looked through the images, trying to figure out which could help him.

Diana was out from the get-go. While she was easily most preferable(he'd actually seen Fury in action), with that Lasso of Truth, he wouldn't be able to get anything by her.

Kara… was Kara. She'd helped beat him back home on Earth-2, a big part of the matter, soooooo…

Barbara Gordon… Too chatty, too sharp. He could try and get caught rather quickly.

Jessica Cruz… Jimmy knew he knew she wasn't Alan, but being close to a Green Lantern willingly… that wasn't in the cards. Not a chance, not till he was ready.

He shuddered lightly. Trauma was real.

Zatanna… Her magic was random. She could undo his new physiology, or send him back home. He couldn't allow that.

Bumblebee. A high-tech, high-quality suit, one that could defy physics, donned by a genius. She was strong-willed, a more stern mettle than most could predict.

Yup. Bumblebee, hands down.

But how?

Jimmy rubbed his chin, lost in thought. Seeing Karen's profile, if something was wrong, she would report to her friends without fail. Sure, they might not listen, at first, but they would hear her. If he approached her thoughtlessly, he would be back to square one. Running for the hills.

He sighed, his mind racing. How could he have her listen?

He blinked, his augmented mind coming up with an insane plan. Viable, but completely insane. He glanced at his Mother Box.

Within the Hideout (Which Karen had affectionately nicknamed the Super Hero Girls base,) the girls lounged.

While Kara lost to Babs at video games, Diana tended to her weapons and armor, and Zee and Jess talked out animal rights in magic shows, Karen worked on her suit processor.

Babs looked up from the game, pressing buttons all over her controller as she did. "Hey, Karen, you wanna play next? Beating Kara gets old after the 45th time in a day."

The Kryptonian snarled. "Oh-ho-ho, I just had a messed up controller! I can totally beat you this time!"

Babs looked to her left, a comically large number of broken controllers on the floor, the wall closest to them presenting a large crack. "Uuuuuh-huh. Right, so the controllers. Every time you lose. So- ho not user error."

"Exactly!"

Babs rolled her eyes, smiling playfully. She turned her attention back to Karen, finishing Kara's character as she did. The Kryptonian predictably chucked her controller, adding to the pile. Like clockwork, Zee, still talking to Jess, waved her wand, and poofed another one into Kara's waiting hand.

The blonde sighed, slumping back into the couch. She readied her controller. "Maybe it's... a little bit of user error…" she admitted reluctantly.

Babs playfully stuck out her tongue, before she turned back to Karen. "So, you in? Don't know how many more sticks Zee can make!"

Karen looked away from her work, giving Barbara her full attention. "Sorry, Babs, but I have to finish this update first. Shouldn't take too long, so, maybe once I'm done?"

"Sounds good!"

While Karen was looking away, the screen on her monitor glitches, a flash of purple code highlighting within her system, before it blended in. By the time Karen had turned back to continue her work, she could see nothing wrong with the coding.

After Karen had thoroughly trounced all comers in the games for the 20th time, she decided to at least glance at her phone. Her eyes widened. It was 7:30.

She leapt to her feet, a bit panicked. "Sorry, girls, I gotta go."

Babs perked up at that. "Why? Secret mission? New invention? New fight scene?!"

Karen's eyes widened. Barbara had gotten uncomfortably close, the two of them almost touching noses.

"Dinner."

"Oh."

Karen gently pushed Barbara away, reclaiming her personal space. She turned to the others. "See you guys tomorrow?"

Agreement rolled through the room, before Jess noticed something. "Wait, Karen, how are you going to get home? I can give you a ride if you-"

Karen cut her off, holding up her necklace.

"Oh, right. You can fly. Sorry."

Karen shook her head. "It's fine. You just wanted to help. I really appreciate it."

And so, the girl left her friends, playing, talking, and preparing, as she snuck back through 'Sweet Justice'. She managed to get out, and around unnoticed, and she donned her suit as soon as she was certain she was alone.

As soon as she suited up, Karen flew home. More rapidly than she could recognize, her visor flashed in her eyes, several times throughout the flight, each one far faster than her conscious mind could comprehend.

She touched down a short, but off to the side ways away from her house. She glanced around, checking for anyone watching. Once she was certain no one was watching, she unshrank, and disengaged her suit.

She calmly made her way home, glancing at her phone. 7:50. She'd made pretty good time. She put in her earbuds, started up a song, pocketed her device, and walked, humming to the 'Up Past 8' song. She danced as she walked, swaying to the rhythm.

Karen made her way into her house, her eyes shut as she spun to the song, shut, and locked the door. "I'm home!"

On autopilot, her eyes still shut as she danced, she made her way to the dinner table. When she finally did open her eyes, she was floored by what she saw.

Her parents stood on either side, almost… robotically of a person in a black, silver, and purple jumpsuit, definitively male, at the table.

The intruder glanced at her, and he waved. "Ahh, Karen! Glad to see you!" He laced his hands together under his chin. "We should talk."
