A/N: So... this is all fluff and smut. Have fun.
For about twenty minutes and six different insanely beautiful, over-the-top dresses, Fae was crazy nervous. She'd enlisted Romilly, Lily, and Sirius' help at getting ready for her date with Remus, knowing they'd help her pick the perfect outfit and style her make-up and hair beautifully. Embarrassingly, Fae was losing her mind and couldn't seem to settle on anything until Romilly finally smacked the hell out of her.
"Calm the fuck down. You've been on a million dates with this guy and he's already a done deal. So just chill, wear what makes you feel both pretty and comfortable, and go have fun with one of your best friends in the world. Although, not the best, because I'm the best, but still."
Sirius and Lily were quick to agree with her, tossing up examples of all the 'dates' Fae and Remus had been on over the years when Fae had been confused. But they were right. Like the time they followed James and Lily on their 'not-date' on Valentine's Day, all those times sneaking off to their library den, the days spent at the cafe in the summer before he worked there, nights spent driving around and getting take-out, trips to bookstores, St. Ives. Hell, they'd had specific weekly days dedicated to spending time just with each other for years, Sundays at Hogwarts and then Tuesdays when they'd both had jobs.
So Fae put on the blue dress he'd picked out for her on the day she left and grinned madly when she came out to find him in the living room, wearing the same blue waistcoat and suit ensemble, holding a bouquet of assorted chocolates specially charmed and transfigured to look like flowers. He was clearly nervous, but he looked so damn happy and Fae just knew this was right. Exactly right. She kissed him on the cheek, stole a few sweet petals, and then playfully argued with him over who was driving.
Unfortunately, they got a little swarmed at the restaurant. When Remus was prepared for it, he could handle crowds and speeches like nobodies business. Unprepared and seeking a quiet dinner with just the two of him, he was shy and awkward and irritated as people crowded around them and began asking all sorts of questions about the war. Fae fielded most of them with her usual sarcastic, mystic, vague, and hilarious ease. But it pissed her off too so she whispered to Remus to go steal something good from the kitchens while she made a huge distraction of being 'allergic' to the red roses a fan had brought her. When she 'sneezed', red petals and glitter went everywhere, and she and Remus escaped out the kitchen door with an entire cart of food.
Laughing wildly, they hopped in the Thunderbird to make their getaway and Fae drove them out into the countryside, to a little pond not too far from Petersfield. She parked them under an impressively large and beautiful willow tree and they ate their stolen dinner on the hood of the car with the radio playing in the background. Although it had been planned, Fae was very glad for her flowy, short dress since it allowed her to sit easily. And then lay back against the windshield of the car while she and Remus laughed and commiserated over their completely unwanted popularity since the end of the war.
They talked about everything and nothing at all, Remus's arm around her shoulder as they watched the willow tree's branches sway with the breeze and caught glimpses of the sunset on the pond between the leaves. It was beautiful. Perfect. It was time for Fae to be brave and go for it. So during a lull between topics, she took a deep breath, sat up, and turned herself to straddle Remus' lap.
He looked shocked at first, but then he just smiled sexily. And hopefully. And so fondly. He waited patiently and settled his hands lightly on her hips. The love and happiness and eagerness shining in his eyes and curling his lips made Fae panic. Fuck, her heart was racing so much and maybe she couldn't do this after all, he was so gorgeous and perfect and he was everything and she was a ridiculous mess who looked at him for all of ten seconds, couldn't handle it, and leaned forward to plow her face into his chest instead of saying what she was supposed to say. Remus, her lovely darling, just chuckled and petted her hair. Waiting, but also happy to be just like this, no matter how much he wanted more. How much she wanted more.
Even though she was fucking terrified.
But Lucrecia was right, she deserved to be happy. And more than that, she wanted Remus to be happy. Wanted to give him everything. She just… had to be sure that what he wanted was really her. She needed to know he was sure about her. His heart was racing just as fast as her's, despite the calm, sweet kiss he placed in her hair. Fae couldn't do this looking at him, she'd cave so fucking fast. Instead, she stayed hiding in his chest while one of her hands reached for his to lace their fingers together and hold on with a shaking grip like her life depended on it.
"Did you really mean it?" she asked, voice horrifyingly shy and quiet. Agh, she fucking sucked at this.
"Mean what?" he asked.
"What you said during the battle?"
"I think you're going to have to be a little more specific. I said a lot of things, you know," he said, teasing her.
Fae rolled her eyes and headbutted him playfully. "Be serious." He was cute, but for real, she needed to know.
"I can't be Sirius, I'm-"
"Remus!" she huffed, finally sitting up to glare at him.
He'd been waiting for her. Waiting for her to look at him so he could cup her face in his warm hands and bring their foreheads together. Leaning in close and making tender, cruel, heart-stopping eye contact. The fucking wanker.
"Yes. I meant all of it," he said softly. "I'm completely in love with you. I'm absolutely mad about you and I want to be with you. If you'll have me."
Fae blushed madly and tried to keep it together. Tried not to faint as her heart picked up it's already insane pace. She needed answers and refused to cave until she got them. Otherwise, she'd never be able to let go and just. She huffed again. "But I.. I don't understand. How could you be in love with me?"
Because honestly, how the fuck? He had always dated refined, gentle, poised, clever girls in the past. And Fae was exactly none of those things. She was brash and obnoxious and reckless and loud and rough. They had been friends for so long and he'd truly seen every score and every sore she'd been through, seen her worst and her tantrums and her ugly fights with her brothers and her cruel brutality towards her enemies. So long ago, he'd called her a monster and said she reveled in it. He had been completely right and Fae was who she was. She was a monstrous girl and for the most part, she was proud of it. How could Remus, beautiful, gentle Remus, love a monster?
"The same way the sky is blue or the sun rises every day. It was a certainty from the moment we met. I've been yours since the moment you tackled me to the ground," he answered, so steady like he'd practiced this answer.
Fucking liar. Fae pulled away and pounded her fist harshly on his chest a few times, angry. "You asshole, how could you say something like that when you- when you-"
He didn't back down. Didn't even flinch. Just thumbed away her frustrated tears, which, fuck, why was she crying? When had she started crying? Ugh. This idiot drove her fucking crazy.
"When I hurt you so, so badly? I know what I did, my love, and I know that I probably can't ever make up for it. It's probably the biggest regret of my life, pushing you away like that," he said, voice tender and sorry and Fae was losing her mind trying to figure out if he was for real.
She wiped away her frustrated tears and ranted at him, so confused and overwhelmed by all the past feelings of hurt being dredged up again. "So why did you do it? You're the one who kissed me! You- we- we were together and it was perfect and then you just," she shrieked, pausing to catch her breath, because Merlin, she was almost hyperventilating.
"You were gone before I woke up and I saw you with her and I wanted to die. I wanted to jump off the Hogwarts Express, I felt like such an idiot, to think you actually wanted a psychotic mess like me," she said, voice cracking and going high as she got it all out.
He sighed deeply and kissed away her tears despite her efforts to shy away from him. His arms locked around her back and kept her close, not that she really had much strength to fight him, not with the way she was trembling.
"I did, my love. I wanted you more than anything. Lorelei meant nothing to me, it was always you all along. I've never wanted anyone the way I want you."
Liar. He had to be lying. Fae had smelled Lorelei's perfume all over him, so strong and sickening that she couldn't even smell him, let alone her own scent on him from only hours before.
"Then why! Why did you do that to me!" she yelled.
"Because I was terrified that you wouldn't stay!" he yelled back. It went quiet between them as Fae took shuddering breaths and tried to understand. Remus' eyes were so intense, so fiery, so determined. Yet, so sad. She couldn't look away.
"I was so scared that I wasn't enough. That I could never be enough. Fae, you are wild and free and the most incredible person I know. You do what you want, when you want, however you want. You are unstoppable and funny and beautiful and smart. So strong and brave. You are everything and I thought that one day, you'd meet some equally perfect guy and I'd be left behind," he said.
"What." She wasn't unstoppable, she was just stubborn. She wasn't funny, just sassy and blunt. Her intelligence was nothing compared to his, let alone her looks. He thought she was… He thought that about her? Fae suddenly regretted not learning legilimency. But then again, knowing his thoughts probably would pale in comparison to hearing him say such things. She just...needed to know he meant them.
He shook his head and smiled sadly. "I couldn't stand the idea of letting you down, of not being the man you deserve. The kind of man who could give you everything and take you on grand adventures. You believed in me and I couldn't even get a job without someone's pity, let alone get into college. So I pushed you away first, thinking that I was giving you a chance at a happy life without constant strife and struggling and failure."
Fae had always known about Remus' insecurities. But this? This was beyond that.
"But I don't care about jobs or colleges or money. I only cared about those things because they were important to you and because I wanted you to be happy. And as for the adventures… Remus, every day with you is an adventure. I could spend every day sitting on the couch reading books with you and it would be better than any trip around the world with anybody else," she argued, becoming frantic again.
Remus was the amazing one. Remus was the one with ambitions and everything he needed to attain them. Fae was… she was simple-minded and boring in comparison. Easy to satisfy. She had no dreams really, other than ending the war, which she'd done, and now. Now. Remus.
"Really?" he asked, happiness coloring his voice again.
"Really," she said, smiling just a little. "I've only ever wanted you to be happy."
"And I've always wanted you to be happy too. I was just.. really wrong and scared and stupid. I know it's years too late, but I am so sorry Fae. I never wanted to hurt you. I never want to see you unhappy. I'm so, so sorry."
And Fae, blinded by love and made stupid by it, was helpless to do anything, but believe him. Except for that one instance, Remus had never let her down. Never lied to her. Although it had shattered her for a little while, Fae was willing to let it go. Wanted to let it go. It was one, single bad moment in years and years of perfectly happy memories and moments together.
"I forgive you," she said, kissing his cheek. And then she laughed. "Let's be real, my stupid-ass forgave you almost instantly. Even though I wanted to be mad. I wanted to be mad at you forever. You just.. You have no idea what kind of power you have over me, do you?"
He rubbed their noses together and beamed brilliantly, perfect teeth shining in the setting sun, eyes sparkling. "I think I kind of understand. I wanted to be mad at you for a lot of things too. For all those dates you had and for flirting with Celeste. For Kent, even if that wasn't real. For leaving me behind and pushing me to become a War Commander."
He was teasing, but she still felt really bad about using him. And now that she knew he felt the same way about Kent as she did about Lorelei, it was just another reason to feel shitty and undeserving of this perfect man. ""I-I'm sorry. Remus, I'm-"
"I forgive you too," he said, interrupting her. "I understand why you did what you did. All of it. Why you felt like you had to put space between us because I was too much of a fool to just fight for you and commit to you like I should've from the beginning. Make my feelings clear."
And boy, had he made them clear. His timing had been terrible, granted, but she couldn't really blame him for it. They had almost died after all.
Well.
Okay, she blamed him a little for the terrible timing.
"So why now then? Why are you telling me this now? Why didn't you come to Hogwarts and apologize? Or at Lily and James' wedding? When we went to St. Ives or the mountains?" she asked. There had been a million moments where he could've told her.
He chewed his bottom lip, looking skyward as he thought over, and then smiled lopsidedly. "For a lot of reasons, I suppose. I felt guilty at first. Still undeserving and then I'd already hurt you once. I thought it wouldn't be fair to put you through that again, no matter how I felt. But then.. I just couldn't stay away. Couldn't stand being apart from you, hated all of those people you went out with who weren't me. Who were better than me in a lot of ways and would've been better for you. I wanted to kill them and I wanted you for myself, but I didn't know how to ask that of you. Not after what I did."
Fae was freaking out. She was absolutely freaking out. This wasn't fair. The way he said he'd wanted to kill her past dates sent shivers up and down her spine, playing the bones like a piano. Her tears were gone now, and in their place, a bright red blush and the overpowering urge to squirm and look away from his heated stare. She couldn't though. Had never been any good at looking away from him.
Remus shrugged. And for a moment, he looked sheepish. And as squirmy as she felt. "I...wanted you to choose me," he admitted. And then hurried to explain more. "Which is completely unfair, I know. Then there was Kent and you two were happy together and I was so scared that I'd gotten what I thought I wanted - you, happy with some successful, nice, rich, normal guy. It broke my heart to see you two together and you don't even know how relieved I felt when you turned down his proposal. I thought I was going to start crying right there."
Fuck, he looked like he might cry now. Suddenly, Fae was the one cupping his face and shushing him, lending comfort despite her angsty bewilderment still rattling in her head. He was right, it really wasn't fair. They'd been so fucking stupid and cowardly. Both of them.
"But even then, you didn't say anything. What changed?" she asked.
"You left," he answered. "It felt like the sky was falling and I was a complete wreck. I don't know what I would've done if anything happened to you. If you.. If you died. If I lost you. I couldn't deny my feelings for you anymore and all I wanted was to see you again."
Fae could understand that at least. It's why she had let her walls down and had let herself be openly affectionate with him the day she left. Because she knew there was a good chance she wouldn't survive. Still, she hadn't exactly said anything then either. So why...
"That's it?"
He laughed suddenly and she arched an eyebrow. "No. There was some interference and some friendly advice too."
"From who?" Somehow, the way he said 'friendly' implied that they were not friendly at all.
"Peter. Regulus. Romilly. My parents," he said dryly.
"Your...parents?" she repeated, trying to wrap her head around the idea of Peter and Hope chewing out Remus about his feelings for Fae. It seemed… kind of impossible. About as impossible as him having feelings for her in the first place. And. Well.
"After you left, they all drilled it into my head, one right after the other," he said, rolling his eyes, but smiling fondly as he remembered. "Telling me what an idiot I was, that all this time you'd loved me and believed in me. I just had to believe in myself, believe that I was enough and that only I could make you the happiest, even though I'd already hurt you so much."
She blinked. "Peter did that?"
He nodded. "You should've heard him. Right ripped me a new one, he did,"
They shared a laugh, missing him. "That idiot."
"He was right. I needed to hear it. So you, and everyone else, finally got what they wanted. I believe in myself. I know I'm strong and smart and capable of anything I put my mind to. I know that I can make you happy, that I can love you more than anybody else in this world," Remus declared, scooching forward and wrapping himself completely around her.
Fae had nowhere to hide, her hands were crushed against his chest and his face was right there and his arms were like titanium. She wasn't going anywhere until he got his own answer.
"Fae, I love you so much and I want to make you so happy," he said, desperate and pleading and hopeful.
"Remus…" she said, her voice and body and everything shaking.
"So? What's it going to be? Going to give this fool a chance?" he asked.
She stared at him. Then she took a deep, shuddering breath. "Are you sure? Really sure?" Fae asked, hardly louder than a whisper.
This was really happening. Oh Gods.
He beamed. "Yes. I've never been more sure about anything in my life," he said. Headbutted her forehead gently and ran his nose along her jaw as he whispered in her ear. "And if it makes you feel secure and happy, I'll remind you every day. Just. Please, be with me. Be mine."
If she opened her mouth, there was no way anything would come out. Except maybe a moan. Or a scream. So she just nodded.
"Yeah?" he asked, meeting her eyes once more. Gaze full of love and happiness.
Love. Remus truly, sincerely, completely loved her. Wanted her. Despite everything. It was so scary, but she'd probably die if she didn't say yes, didn't take what he was offering her that she'd always so desperately wanted.
"Yeah," she whispered. "I'll be yours so long as you're mine."
"I always have been, my love, and I always will be," he promised.
Smiles erupted on both of their faces and Fae wiggled until her arms were free so she could wrap them around his shoulders and pull him impossibly close. Eyes flickering to lips. They met in the middle, sharing a sweet, wonderful, first kiss.
"I love you too. So much," she said, attacking his mouth with gusto as all the negative feelings fell away and all she was left with was love. Love. Happiness. Passion. Want. Desire. Need.
Their sweet kisses quickly turned rough, savage, demanding. Fae demanded his touch, his skin, his everything. She ripped open his shirt and started mouthing at his neck, intending to properly mark him up this time such that nobody would miss the fact that he was hers now. Remus moaned, a sound that made her entire body shake, as he fell back against the windshield and she molded herself to him as firmly as she could.
His hands massaged her thighs, rubbed her back, squeezed her ass. Fae panted against his skin and then kissed lower, teething and tonguing at his scars. Remus arched beautifully as she played with his nipples and her hands began to smooth down his perfectly toned abs, down to his waistband, wanting to feel him in her hands.
"Woah, Fae, ah!" he cried. "We should- we should-"
"Lose the clothes?" she suggested, pulling back to shuck off her dress and toss it. "Yes, I think so too, much as I love you in this suit."
His eyes went wide, taking in her almost-naked body, save for the racy bra and panties, which would be gone very soon. Fae grinned at his lusty expression and rolled her hips forward, pushing against the considerable bulge in his trousers.
"No! Fae-" he cut himself off with a deep moan. "Fae, slow down!"
She froze immediately, frowning and searching his face. "What? Why? Did I do something wrong?" she asked worriedly.
"No, of course not!" Remus declared, trying to catch his breath. "I just.." he panted more and Fae descended again on his lips, kissing him once, twice, three times, four times, more.
"So what's the problem?" she mumbled against his mouth, teasing his bottom lip with her tongue and teeth.
Remus's hands found her shoulders and pushed her back just slightly while he blushed completely red from the chest up. "I wanted the first time we make love to be more...special," he said.
She gaped at him and then grinned brightly. "You sap. What could be more special than this?"
"Maybe a bed?" he suggested playfully. Then his mouth went slack and his head tipped back in complete rapture as her quick, clever hands unbuckled his belt, unzipped his trousers, and wrapped around his huge, hot, hard cock. So ready for her. So perfect. Fae stroked him and trembled as he trembled.
"But I already had you in a bed," she purred in his ear, nibbling and biting his neck some more. "Now I want you on my car. At sunset, looking so breathtaking, screaming my name in ecstasy."
"Fae! Oh! Fuck- ah!" he gasped as she stroked him and conjured some lubricant in her hand to make it nice and smooth and good for him.
"Just like that," she moaned, removing her hand and thrusting her hips forward to rub her cunt, soaking through her silk panties at this point, over him. Again and again, trying to angle her hips so the head of his cock caught against her clit. Fuck, even just that felt so damn good.
"Now, Remus. I want you right now and I can't wait another second," she demanded, voice rising in pitch as her arousal escalated higher and higher, making her mind go blank except for their all-consuming lust.
His breaths got heavier, one of his hands latching onto her hip and the other sneaking up under her bra to cup her breast. "Please…o-ooohh.." he sighed, beginning to writhe beneath her grinding, clearly giving into his own desire.
"That's my darling," Fae whimpered, twitching under his hands, removing her bra and then moaning outright as he vanished her panties and she felt his bare, hard penis against her dripping sex.
"Fuck," he hissed, abruptly flipping them over so Fae was pinned against the hood of the car, back arching wantonly as she spread her legs wide and gazed up at him.
"Come on, Remus, give me your- fuck- o-ohh!" She screamed as his fingers found her cunt, sliding and rubbing and then entering her, one, two, three, so fast and easy and good. It felt so good, so good, so good, she wanted him so badly. Her legs were shaking, her hips positively vibrating and burning.
"So wet for me, Fae. You want me that much, huh? Can't even wait to get home," Remus growled, fingering her fast and hard, making her thighs quiver and her chest heave with deep gasps and moans.
"A-a-aahhh Remus, so good! Shit! Please! Please, please, fuck…"
He moaned, long and loud. Then removed his fingers and licked them clean. Fae lurched off the car to wrap her arms around his shoulders and pull him down into a filthy kiss, needing him, needing any bit of him she could get. Her shivering legs locked around his hips. She arched, seeking his length. A hand tangled in his hair and the other traveled down his chest, reaching for his cock so she could guide him in.
Remus caught her, laced their fingers together, and kissed her hand before pinning it to the car. Their gazes locked and she whined at him, squirming and panting for him. He pushed her back down, kissed her deeply, and used his other hand to line up his cock with her entrance.
"Ah! Remus! I- oh!" Fae's voice went so high that it cracked as he fucked slowly into her, carefully and lovingly and perfectly, filling her up so much and bringing her so close to the edge before he was all the way in and stopped so they could catch their breath. Not that it helped, Fae was practically shrieking breaths in and out, writhing and moving mindlessly with pleasure beneath him, gripping his hair and begging him to move. Fuck, he felt so good. He was so beautiful. So good and perfect.
She bucked her hips, chasing that sharp, mind-blowing pleasure.
"Fae…. you feel so good, love. So perfect and hot and tight. So good for me," he said, voice low and gravelly and gasping as he thrust into her once, twice. Fae cried out and then couldn't take it anymore. She flipped them again, pinning him back down and bouncing on him hard and fast, needing it, needing him, needing to come now. Needing to see him lost to pleasure.
"Fae!" Remus grunted, tossing his head back. Fae's hands found his shoulders while his hands found her ass and they moved, moved, moved, grinding and riding and thrusting fast and brutally hard into a howling orgasm.
"Ah! Remus! Gonna co-come!"
He came right after her, shuddering and arching breathtakingly with a low, guttural groan, soaking her insides with thick ropes of hot, sticky come. Thinking about it just made her shiver with need all over again.
Fae rode out the aftershocks until they were both whimpering and then she collapsed forward onto him, going limp except for their chests heaving in sync, hearts racing, limbs twitching with residual tremors.
"Damn…" she gasped.
Remus laughed and leaned down to kiss her soundly. They giggled and kissed and kissed and kissed, coming down from one high and already beginning to reach for another. But then Fae noticed the strange warp beneath her knees.
"Oh shit we dented the car," she said. Then started laughing her ass off. Damn. They'd fucked so hard that they dented the car. Oops.
Remus chuckled and kissed her neck, rubbing her sides and murmuring into her glistening skin. "Oh that? That's nothing, I can fix that," he said.
She arched an eyebrow. "Since when did you know anything about cars?"
At that, he completely froze. "Um."
Fae ditched her dress in favor of one of his t-shirts lying around in the car while he nervously explained what had happened. It was frightening to hear that he'd been in a car accident and she wanted to hit him for thinking she'd be more concerned about the car than him. Dumbass. She hadn't even noticed a difference with the car.
To punish him, Fae ravished him while he drove them home. Kissing his neck and leaving proper, extremely visible and unhideable hickeys all over his neck and chest. And then she kissed all the way down and wrapped her mouth around his cock, already hard and ready for her again. He really was very big. Long and thick, flushed a perfect pink and dripping. She licked and sucked him enthusiastically while he choked on moans and tried to pay attention to the road.
Remus gave up about two minutes later, pulling them over into the nearest parking lot and then launching himself out of the driver's seat to plow her hard against the passenger door. He drove into her so hard and so fast that the door almost broke open and Fae was reduced to a screaming, shaking mess in seconds. She came first that time and then praised him, talking dirty as he kept fucking her into his own orgasm.
"That's it, my darling. You're so good, so rough with me and I love it. Love you, my beautiful, perfect love. Fuck me, use me, be a good boy and come for me. Come for me, Remus," she purred, mind lost in bliss as absolute euphoria crossed Remus' face.
They made it home a little later, only to stumble through the house, and go again in their room.
"I promise I'll be here in the morning. You can even tie me up if you like," he said afterwards, so high. Both of them were so high.
And. Well. Uhm. She just had to try that. Tying him up. And he'd offered so sweetly. So then they went a fourth time, torturously slow and slowly torturous. The way his back arched as she teased him was nothing short of miraculous. The strain in his neck and shoulders begged for more kisses and bites. Everybody would know who he belonged to tomorrow, whether they heard him scream it or saw the bruised evidence all over his body. They both blacked out after that, but Fae made sure he was untied first so his wrists weren't sore in the morning.
Fae woke up to Remus playing with her hair, pressing loving kisses to whatever skin he could reach with her curled up on his chest. The sun had been up for hours and they decided to just stay in bed all day. Order take-out and try again to wake up on time for their morning run tomorrow.
Life had already been getting pretty good, but it got downright deliciously indulgent and sublime when she got to love Remus openly, thoroughly, and truly. They were rarely apart after that and Fae expected to be sick of him and his presence and his fussing at least a little bit, but it never happened.
Honeymoon phase, she supposed. Whenever they were together, they were always kissing or in each other's arms or holding hands. They couldn't be in the same room without some form of contact, it was ridiculous and Fae wanted to hate being that couple, but she was just too damn happy.
Dancing around the kitchen while Remus made dinner, taking turns reading aloud to each other and Harry, going for long runs in the woods or drives wherever, getting into a three-way prank war with James and Sirius and Regulus and Romilly, going to movies and dinner dates under disguises. She never wanted to be without him and he seemed to feel the same way, setting the nerves in her ears perpetually on fire with how often he told her he loved her.
And of course, there was the sex. It was no surprise that they couldn't really keep their hands off each other. Fae had always desired Remus so much, had a million and one fantasies about him that she was dying to live out. And with every time they were together, she just felt more insatiable, only ever wanted him more. Wanted to consume him and pleasure him and fuck him so consummately and so often that he'd be ruined for anybody else.
However, Remus gave as good as he got. For every time Fae slammed him against the kitchen counter and got on her knees to suck him off or pulled him into the shower with her and had him fuck her up against the tiles or tied his hands to the bedposts while she rode him silly, he fingered her on the crowded subway and then sat her down on his lap, grinding his erection into her til she came. Remus pulled her down on the floor after hours at the cafe, licked icing off every inch of her body, and then ate her out til she screamed. He pinned her down over the kitchen table and fucked her hard and slow til she begged him to let her come.
Fae was thrilled and breathless to discover that Remus was surprisingly aggressive when it came to sex. Oh, he submitted to her so beautifully and sweetly when she commanded him to, especially when she talked dirty to him, telling him how good he was for her, how beautiful and perfect he looked when he moaned for her, how big and satisfying his cock was, how she loved that he was always hard and ready for her whenever she wanted him.
But he also did things like leaving hickeys all over her neck and thighs while he told her to finger herself open for him, forcing her to sit on his lap and grind against his leg until she came before he'd fuck her properly, making her beg and ask nicely and tell him what she wanted him to do to her. Which was everything, she'd let him do everything to her. Whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted.
To be fair, sometimes she teased it out of him purposely, practically salivating over her boyfriend getting rough and dominating with her. Once, she had teased him and denied him the whole day, bending over in front of him, small gropes to his shoulders and his hips and his ass before retreating, sucking little kisses and bites to his neck and ears, walking around in one of his t-shirts hanging off her shoulder with the hem covering her tiny shorts, eating an ice-cream cone like she was blowing him while keeping eye contact. That night had been incredible - he'd fucked her to orgasm at least three times, bending her over the nearest surface as soon as they were alone, binding her arms behind her back, and holding her down by her hair and the back of her neck while he just took what he wanted.
It was around that time that James and Lily started looking for a new place, somewhere close but not too close. Sirius and Regulus were putting in lots of overtime too and the remaining werewolves found homes or moved into the House of Black. Fae didn't mind - it just meant they could fuck in the woods during their morning runs without getting caught now.
It was completely impossible and incredible and unreal. Remus was just as insatiable and blissfully happy as she was. Although, they did have a few shaky moments, namely when Remus' parents finally returned home and Fae was extremely reluctant to see them and have dinner with them. Remus had been pretty irritated about that and relentless in his efforts to get her to see them after she disappeared at the last second for some 'obligation' three times in a row.
He practically threw her over his shoulder and forced her to his parent's house. She went along with it because one, she actually couldn't get out of his grip anymore even if she tried; two, he really wanted to tell his parents that they were finally together and show off his wonderful girlfriend to them; and three, he might have threatened and then promised to spank her for disobedience which was something they hadn't done yet and Fae hadn't realized she desperately needed until he said so.
None of those reasons made her any less terrified of Hope, but it turned out that was for nothing anyways. Remus' parents were sincerely happy to see her and grateful for all she did, to her surprise. And then she was completely flustered as Remus went on and on about all the courageous, badass things that Fae had done. So of course, Fae had to return the favor and started going on and on about Remus' achievements with the Order and the Brigade. In the end, Lyall took over the conversation, eager to talk about them helping Christian and Lily in the Ministry with the Beast Division and the Lycanthropy Laws. Now that he was back, it seemed Lyall wanted to join the fight as well.
Of course, this made them both extremely happy, albeit later due to a slightly delayed reaction. After spending an evening all getting along and then hyping each other up, Fae was completely aroused for him, especially as his hand rubbed her thigh under the table and kept straying dangerously close to her soaked sex. Apparently, he really wanted it too. Like, immediately. She did her best to not appear as affected as she felt, but Hope's look was increasingly judging, which was comfortingly familiar at least, and she bid them goodnight before dessert. Thank Merlin.
Remus didn't get around to spanking her that night. They didn't even make it halfway home before they had to pull the car over and they collided in a heated frenzy. When they did get home, Remus made love to her slowly, gazing at her with pure adoration as he took her, whispering how happy he was that his parents loved her and how grateful he was that she went to see them and made an effort to get along with his mother. How much he loved her. Fae meant to whisper back how much she loved him too, but ended up screaming it as he sucked hickeys into her neck and tortured her slowly to orgasm.
The world had never seemed so wonderful.
Christian and Lily were making amazing progress with the Ministry, especially when Lyall came back to help them. The law requiring werewolves to report their lycanthropy to most potential employers, although there were a few understandable exceptions, was officially abolished. The identification mark was done away with. And for a werewolf to become an Auror, all they had to do was agree to be monitored during full moons and they were allowed to choose between the Ministry bunker or an approved warded location. They also had to swear not to harm someone under transformation, but it wasn't an unbreakable vow and it wasn't much different than the standard vows an Auror took upon instatement anyhow. Progress was being made.
Christian and Willis decided to skip the theatrics and get married in early spring. In St. Ives, of all places. It would be a simple, quiet wedding with few guests, but they wanted it that way. Wisely, also wanted to save their money for their honeymoon, smart buggers. Remus was super excited and happy for them while Fae insisted that she do the floral arrangements and sing at least a few songs for them at the reception.
Severus and Sirius continued to bicker like crazy, but they also challenged each other more than anybody else and when they weren't fighting, they were teaming up to spoil Harry or chattering away about some convoluted work-related object or whatsit. It was entertaining, if nothing else and Fae was pleased to see Sirius back to his usual antics and high energy.
Regulus lacked that energy, but only because he was running himself into the ground with his shifts at the hospital and his classes. That being said, no matter how tired he was, he was almost always smiling and talking excitedly about what he'd done or learned that day. His dream was coming true and Fae was so happy for him, so happy to see him alive and discovering his own path and just being happy.
James continued working from home, having moved much of Fleamont's lab into his new house. His and Lily's and Harry's new home which was, incidentally, Peter's old house across town. He'd left it to him in his will and it was a perfect location and size for the small family. That had been a fairly hard day, going through his stuff and packing things into storage, but keeping plenty out to honor and remember him. Fae kept all of his photo albums and framed her favorites all over both houses. She saved a special bunch for her side project as well. And though it hurt to think of his death, Fae was able to go through the albums with her brothers and Remus and laugh about all the great memories.
Then Lily announced she was pregnant again. Severus would be the Godfather this time and the baby's name would be Peter or Petra depending on the gender. Fae couldn't believe it. For a moment, she truly felt that everything she had done had been justified. Lily had been pregnant, even just barely, on Halloween. And she'd saved both lives from Tom Riddle. She was going to be an Aunt again and Harry was going to be a big brother.
Even when Romilly decided to take off for her travels again, Fae couldn't stop smiling. Although she cried a bit through her laughter and smiles and crushing hugs. Of course, she'd seen it coming. All the jealous and longing looks at the werewolves who left to join packs or seek futures elsewhere. The listlessness she'd had with Fae busy with Remus and Regulus busy with the hospital and his classes. Fae was actually surprised Romilly hadn't left long ago.
It all came down to her promise to always be with Fae and like last time, Fae was all too happy to smack some sense into her and order her to go live out her dreams, discovering new species and learning all she could about every creature out there. They'd always be best friends. They'd always be there for each other and make time for each other. And it wasn't like they couldn't see each other when they wanted or write constantly, although probably not as constantly as she and Regulus did. Romilly took off for a few weeks to do her thing, promising to be back around for Christmas.
Martha was officially adopted by Lucrecia, and Alastor too for all intents and purposes. Not long after, her cafe/bookstore/smokeshop officially reopened. It was crazy popular and both Fae and Remus ended up having to help out during the first few weeks.
November passed in a blur and things began to finally settle down. Most of the Brigade werewolves had found their places, London and Warheim were mostly rebuilt, everybody had their own lives to lead, and Fae finally found the time to finish her side project. She went out to Petersfield, to the castle where the war had ended. With rubble and ash, earth and flowers, tons of photos from Peter and hundreds of others, blood, sweat, tears, and no magic, Fae built a memorial. Chiseled in each and every name of each and every person who had died in the war. She'd been collecting them. And she remembered them all and said sorry one more time. Let Remus hold her as she cried, confronted her guilt, mourned, and then let go.
Time turned and life was wonderful, even on bad days.
As promised, Romilly was back at Christmas and they had a full house once again, everybody decided to stay there for the week of Christmas and New Years. It wasn't overcrowded or overwhelming this time. Fae was at peace with the war and she was moving on and she was so truly happy. On Christmas day, the kitchen and the living room were filled with James, Lily, Harry, Severus, Sirius, Regulus, Romilly, Christian, Willis, Lucrecia, Alastor, Martha, and of course, her darling Remus. Not to mention all the other friends who were in and out through the day. It was loud and messy and crazy. It was perfect.
There were a million presents to open, many of which made Martha cry with happiness and pretend she was too tough to be crying. Christmas carols, backyard quidditch, wizards chess, and stealing food from the kitchen while Remus, Lily, Willis, and Lucrecia cooked. Food fights over the dinner table. Drinks and pudding in the living room while everybody passed around stories and music played quietly in the background.
As the night grew late, Martha, Lucrecia, and Alastor went home. As did Willis and Christian. Lily and Sirius bullied Severus into staying and Romilly had already dumped her bags in Regulus' room upon arrival, despite there being plenty of guest rooms still available for her. The festivities wound down and Fae grew tired and blissfully worn out as she cuddled with Remus on the couch, half-paying attention to the movie and mostly wondering if it was late enough to drag him to their room for some fun. She might've gotten a little lost daydreaming, thinking about their morning Christmas celebration and a red, silk blindfold.
Suddenly, Remus was sitting up. Although, instead of heading to bed, he offered her his hand for a dance. Fae grinned and took it, leaping up to sway madly with him, giggling as they side-stepped all of Harry's toys, warm and perfect after a long, lovely day. She twirled with gusto, instantly full of energy again. It was one of her favorite songs and dancing with Remus never got old.
"We danced to this for your 16th birthday, remember? And at the fair, that one time. And I believe we howled it once on a full moon, as well."
Fae laughed lightly, bewildered. "You remember all that?"
"I remember every moment with you, my love," he said, speaking low into her ear as they swayed.
Fae spun out and grinned mischievously at him, feeling challenged. "Oh yeah? Which is your favorite?"
He rolled his eyes. "How do I pick?"
It was a good point. Lord knows she couldn't pick. "Top three then."
"That's still quite nearly impossible, but I'll try."
"I'm waiitttiinngg," she sang.
He twirled her a few times and brought her close, fingers lacing. "That night in Athens. When we went out, just you and me? We got dinner together? You looked so beautiful that night and it was breathtaking the way you dove into the ocean and then raced me on that colosseum thing. I'd never felt so alive. At the movies, I wanted to put my arm around you so badly, but I chickened out."
Fae snickered. "I almost kissed you, when we finished the marathon."
He pressed a quick peck to her lips and whispered, "I wanted you to kiss me," like it was a secret.
She grinned against his mouth, kissed him a little deeper. "We should go back to Athens, run it again, and I'll fix it then."
He grinned back. "It's a promise. Now, number two."
"Number two," she repeated, eager to hear what else he had to say. Fae rather liked this game, and was torn between thinking of her own favorite memories of him for when he asked, and listening to him rapturously.
"September 30th, 1977," he stated a moment later.
"1977?"
He huffed. "Stupid Snape almost got you killed and-"
"And you took care of me for days! I remember that!" Fae said, giggling at his unamused face. "I thought I was going to hate being on bedrest, but it ended up being so fun thanks to you."
"I was so scared when you started throwing up blood."
But Fae was already running through that memory herself. "And you took me to the lake so I could pay my respects," she murmured sweetly, wanting to kiss him again.
Remus nodded and pressed his lips to her forehead, speaking softly against her skin. "You let me take care of you and you told me about your life before you were here. You told me secrets that you never told anyone else."
"I trust you."
They shared a smile and danced in perfectly pleased silence, save for the music. The song had changed and it didn't really match their slow spinning, but she didn't care.
Finally, he said, "And number one."
"Number one," she said excitedly.
"It's….silly," he mumbled shyly.
"You're silly," she said, nipping his jaw playfully. "And I love that about you. Now tell me."
"Summer 1976, you and your brothers and your dad came to get me for the first time and you jumped out of the car before it even stopped," he said in a rush.
Then, he took a deep breath and said, "No shoes, hair like a rat's nest, Sirius' Led Zeppelin t-shirt which was way too big for you and made me think you weren't wearing anything underneath until you tackled me. You were so happy to see me and I'd never seen anyone more breathtaking. I couldn't wait to spend every day of the summer with you."
Fae absolutely beamed, face flushed with pleasure. "Awh, darling," she crooned.
"It's what I used to produce my patronus charm, you know? Well it was, anyways. Now I think about the day you told me you loved me."
"Me too. Well, mostly," Fae hummed. Then shrugged and amended her statement. "Actually, no. It kind of changes."
"It changes?"
"Mhm. Lucky me, I have so many wonderful memories to choose from," she said cheerfully. "Sometimes I think of the first time we danced together at the fair. Or that time in St. Ives when I woke up to you tying that bracelet on me for my birthday? Or the day I left you before the war?"
"Really?" he said incredulously. "Why that day?"
Fae sighed and gazed up at him lovingly as she let the memories warm her. "Because you were so sweet and perfect and caring. I thought I was going to melt with all the cuddling and attention you gave me. I was so happy spending every second with you, running through the woods and cooking dinner and dancing in the yard. I couldn't believe it when you strung up the lights and got dressed up just for me. You made it nearly impossible to leave."
He smiled wickedly at her, danced her around and then pinned her against the back of the couch.
"Clearly, I should've tried a little harder. Maybe I should've bent you over the couch and had my way with you. Made you too weak-kneed and sore to leave," he said playfully as he got down to his knees.
"Remus!" she squeaked, glancing around the room at her brothers who were surely going to tease them. Except, they weren't there. Nobody was in the room except them. Where had everybody gone?
Remus pressed a kiss to her stomach and looked up at her sweetly. "We really do have a lot of good memories together, don't we?"
"Remus, what if someone walks in?" she giggled. As if she wouldn't just instantly apparate them to their bedroom without even stopping for a moment. As if the idea of getting caught wasn't thrilling as fuck.
Except, Remus didn't push up her shirt or run his fingers under her skirt like he usually did when he got frisky with her. Instead, he cradled her hands in his and kissed them. "I think I should like more wonderful memories with you, Fae."
She blinked at him, curious. "What are you doing, silly?"
"Something I should have done a long time ago," he said, and then reached into his back pocket to pull out a small velvet box. It opened up to reveal a shining, sparkling, gleaming diamond ring.
"Oh fuck."
"Fae, you terrify me. You push me to be better and you thrill me and captivate me beyond reason. You are the most perfect, exciting, funny, extraordinary person I've ever known and I can't look at anybody but you. I can't think of anybody but you," Remus said, voice heavy and thick with emotion.
Was this a dream? It had to be a dream. But fuck, she didn't think she'd ever had a dream this good before. Thank Merlin for the couch because her legs were jelly.
"Every day with you is like living an adventure story straight out of my favorite books and nobody makes me as happy as you do. I want to make you as happy as you make me. I need to. And as amazing and crazy as you are, I think I'm going to need forever to try."
He took the ring out of the box and held it up to her, eyes shining. "Fae Potter, my wild, beautiful, headstrong Fae, will you marry me?"
She couldn't breathe, let alone speak, so she just nodded really frantically and held her hand out for the ring.
"Is that a yes?" he asked, smile breaking out on his face.
"Yes" Fae gasped. Swallowed and resisted the urge to jump up and down. "YES! Yes, I want to marry you!" she screamed, shaking her hand at him so he could get that damn ring on her.
He grinned brilliantly and had barely gotten the ring on before she tackled him to the ground in a frenzied hug. Remus laughed delightedly and caught her, picking her up and standing so he could spin her and crush her to him and kiss her over and over and over.
"Congratulations!" everybody screamed as they reentered the room. James, Sirius, Lily, Regulus, Severus, and Romilly. Fae pulled away from Remus to look at them in shock and then grin. Remus must've planned this with them.
"We're getting married!" she screamed, wrapping herself around Remus like a koala. She only let go to accept hugs and kisses and well wishes from her family, keeping at least one of her hands on Remus at all times.
"So you guys still have a few days off, until New Years right?" Fae asked, looking at them all excitedly.
"Yes?" James said.
"Great, so let's go get a portkey," Fae declared. "I'm thinking Verona or Athens or maybe Barcelona."
"For what?" Romilly asked.
"So we can get married - duh," she answered, returning to being buried in Remus' side and kissing his jaw. They were getting married, he wanted to marry her, she was going to be his wife foreverrrrrr!
"What? No, absolutely not! Fae, you are not running off to marry him in some cheap foreign chapel only a few days after he's asked you!" Lily shouted.
Fae rolled her eyes. "The fuck not? I need to lock him down before he changes his mind."
"Come on, Fae, you know I wouldn't," Remus said, laughing and kissing her. "I'm a done deal."
Fae's hand slid down his back to grope his firm ass. "You will be when I'm through with you," she promised, smirking as he blushed bright red and his eyes turned heated. "You'd absolutely love Paris, we should go to Paris."
"NO! N! O! NO!"
Why did her brothers always have to ruin her fun? "Jaaaammmeeesss, why not!"
"Because it's too fast! Planning a wedding takes time!" he argued.
"You know, we could just run off without you guys knowing," she threatened before turning to her lover. "How do you feel about eloping, my darling?"
"Surprisingly eager," he answered. "But they do kind of have a point.."
"Oh, not you too. What's so wrong with wanting to be married as soon as possible?"
Fae had waited how long for him? She refused to wait any longer. The idea of being with him forever was the most tantalizing, terrifying, and terrific thing she'd ever imagined.
"Because we deserve a proper wedding after watching you two dance around each other for years!" Sirius teased, although she suspected he was only partially joking.
"Oh fuck you guys, you'll be able to celebrate us plenty wherever we go and for the rest of our blissful lives. Give me a real reason," Fae challenged.
All six of them, even Severus, rose to the challenge, ranting and listing plenty of reasons. Of course, none of them were remotely good enough to convince her otherwise. Not until Remus said, "How about because we probably couldn't get Lucrecia, Alastor, Martha, Christian, Willis, Maddy, Celeste, my parents, or anybody else to a destination wedding on such short notice?"
"Oh," she said, twisting in his arms to look up at him thoughtfully. "Okay, I guess that's a good point."
He gave her a kiss on her forehead and her nose and her eyes and her lips, wearing away her resistance with each press. "I want everybody to be there, to witness my vow to you to be yours forever. I want the world to know."
And as if that wasn't enough, he then growled in her ear and nipped her lobe. "Also, I really want to see you in a proper wedding dress."
"Alright then," Fae said shivering, and now just eager to end this conversation so she could take him to their room and celebrate. "You've won me over."
"WHAT? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME, IT WAS THAT EASY," James cried.
She shrugged. "Of course it was, he's my husband."
"Fiance," Regulus said, shaking his head fondly.
"A technicality," she said. Then kissed Remus again. And again. "Okay, if it makes you happy, we'll have a proper wedding."
"Will it make you happy as well?" he asked.
She thought about it for a second. "Yeah. It will," she decided, beginning to get lost in sweet little daydreams as well as fantasies. "So long as you don't make me wait too long, of course."
"Wouldn't dream of it," he said, laughing and picking her up in another spinning hug. "I think June 24th ought to do it?"
"But that's six months away!"
"You mean that's only six months away! Merlin, we've got to get planning!" Lily cried, rushing off to the phone with James and Regulus close behind, nevermind that it was like 11 o'clock at night on Christmas.
"Well shit," Fae pouted. "Guess that's that then."
"Guess so," Remus said, kissing her cheek to regain her attention.
"So why June 24th? That's pretty specific," she asked as he began carrying her off in the direction of their room. Finally.
"That's the day I met you, the day my life changed forever," he answered. "It seemed appropriate to use the same day for when you would change my life forever once more."
Oh. Oh. She was going to wreck him.
