Subaru lay down on the grass, exhausted.
"Being a guard…is really taxing."
He sighed, before bringing the Omnitrix in front of his face. The now red hourglass logo glowed, as if to emphasize that he'd have to wait before transforming again.
Now that Subaru really thought about it, what even was this thing to be honest?
All he knew was other than the ability to increase his human form's speed, strength, reflexes and enhance his mind, it also allowed him to transform into 10 different forms. He was going to name them, but it seems the Omnitrix had other ideas as it provided him with names for all 10.
"Alright," Subaru lay his Omnitrix hand down near to him as he went over his transformations mentally.
Diamondhead, the crystalline creature he had used to beat Elsa.
XLR8, currently his fastest alien, and the first form he had transformed into.
Heatblast, the form that he'd used to defeat Rem.
Wildmutt, an orange eyeless dog-like creature.
Grey Matter, a small grey skinned thing, with its smarts being the most notable feature.
Four Arms, as the name implied, a red muscular alien with four arms.
Ghostfreak, a literal ghost.
Cannonbolt, a creature plated with yellow padding that allowed it to transform into ball and deal serious damage.
Wildvine, a plant creature.
Ditto, an creature that can clone itself.
In the past few days, he had become proficient with using all of them, now confident that he could easily defeat the Bowel Hunter without taking a single fatal hit, except for maybe in Grey Matter form. He literally had no clue why he'd need that, ever.
Subaru folded his arms beneath his head as he gazed at the darkening sky. "Other than guard duties, I'd say my stay here in this mansion is going pretty well." He mumbled. He was on good terms with Rem again; the two were friends now, she had even sparred with him a few times at his request. But he noticed that she still remained distant from him, even if they exchanged pleasant chatter between them. Ram still treated him as a slacker but her taunts and comments weren't as strong as they were on his first day. Beatrice still threw him out of third storey windows but he got used to it. Roswaal was…an interesting person. Subaru was still mentally scarred from that bathroom incident; Roswaal wearing nothing and touching Subaru's face while saying "Your part of my staff so that makes you my property, doesn't it?" And Emilia…
Just thinking about Emilia brought a smile to his face. Though they hadn't seen each other much, with him and his vigorous training routine and her with her studies for the Royal Selection, he had somehow convinced her to join him for a date tomorrow.
"Emilia-tan and I are going on a date…" He said to himself, as if trying to convince himself who was in denial about it. He rolled around on the ground covering his blushing face.
He stopped and was content to watch the sun lazily make its way down. "You know, it's the perfect time for an evening stroll." He stood up, stretched and made his way towards the mansion's gates. He stopped at the gate before looking behind him towards the mansion.
Subaru started down the forest path, enjoying the silent scenery of the forest being bathed in an orange glow. "When you see a sight like this, it really does convince you that this is indeed a fantasy world…" He murmured to himself, before his content face deteriorated into a pained one. "Here you are, enjoying yourself and forgetting about the people you left behind…" He said to himself with spite.
His parents, were the 'people' that he had left behind. He didn't want to think about what they were going through right now. The very thought made him want to curl up and forget everything, maybe that's one of the many reasons that he worked himself to death?
He didn't know.
"Subaru!" Hearing an all to familiar voice, the teenager turned to face Petra, one of the many village children that he had grown close to in the past few days. "Oh, Petra, what are you doing out and about at this time? It's gonna get dark soon you know, your parents will worry." Subaru petted her orange hair as he spoke to her in a soft voice. "I was just about to go back when I saw you Subaru. I think I saw Rem-rin a few minutes ago as well. I thought the two of you always came here together." Petra asked. "Rem's here? I thought she was back at the mansion, then again she could've left without my noticing, I was too caught up with my training anyway."
"Alright Petra you run along home now, I was just passing by anyway but I'll stop by tomorrow for some radio calisthenics." Petra gave him a big smile before waving goodbye and running home.
Subaru chuckled. "Subaru-kun?" Once again hearing his name he turned around to face Rem, carrying several shopping bags. "Oh, Rem, yo." He raised a hand in greeting before grabbing half of the heavy bags and a barrel. He lifted the barrel onto his shoulder and tucked the bags underneath his arm. "It still surprises Rem whenever Subaru-kun does that." She giggled. "I'm full of surprises Rem, with or without the watch." Subaru winked at her before the two started walking back to the mansion.
"Why didn't you ask me to go with you to the village?" Subaru decided to fill the silence between the two. "Rem saw that Subaru-kun was training so she didn't want to disturb you." Rem said apologetically. "You should know by now Rem; I'd drop whatever I was doing to help you guys out." Subaru shook his head.
"Rem will keep that in mind."
The silence crept in once more.
Subaru was thinking of something to say, the silence was unnerving.
To his surprise though, it was Rem who broke the silence herself.
"Rem has been meaning to ask," She pointed at the Omnitrix before continuing "where did Subaru-kun get such a powerful device?"
"I don't know, really, I don't." Subaru sighed.
The two made it back to the mansion just as the sun had sunk, covering the forest in darkness. Rem opened the door for Subaru before stepping in behind him and closing the door. Subaru set the barrel down on the floor before placing the bags on top of it. He stretched, feeling the tight muscles relaxing. "The barrel goes into storage and the bags into the kitchen, right?" He questioned the maid as he started to place the barrel on his shoulder, when, he looked at the closest door next to them.
Immediately he dashed forward and opened the door, grinning as he caught sight of a certain reclusive spirit girl. "Yo! Beako!" He greeted, being purposefully louder than necessary to try and annoy her. "So, the bug returned in fact. No matter what Betty tries the roach refuses to stay dead I suppose." Beatrice looked bored as she stared at him with barely contained frustration. "This roach is unusually determined." Subaru teased.
"It's amazing how Subaru-kun can break through Beatrice's Door Crossing like it's nothing." Rem interjected, walking to stand behind Subaru near the door.
Beatrice perked up from where she sat, and the two who stood at the door could see how her face expressed visible conflict. "Beatrice?" Subaru asked, using her real name to show he was being serious for once.
"You, maid, you've been cursed I suppose."
Rem seemed to be startled at the accusation. "Cursed? What does that mean?" With his lacking knowledge of this world, the Omnitrix-wielder was forced to think about what the spirit girl was implying.
"Come here so that Betty can get rid of that I suppose." Beatrice motioned to the blue haired girl from her stool and the maid obeyed with no hesitation. Subaru got closer as he watched Beatrice's hand hover before Rem. "Is that…?" A black mist formed on Rem's hand, which Beatrice grasped and destroyed with ease. "There I suppose." She said nonchalantly.
"Beatrice-sama, if I may, was that where the curse had been inflicted upon Rem?" The maid asked politely, awaiting an answer from the one before her.
"That is indeed where the shaman had placed the curse upon you, I suppose."
Rem seemed to still at that, which worried the boy next to her. "Rem?"
"Subaru-kun, the villagers are in danger."
"Huh?" Subaru looked at her in shock, before making an X with both his arms. "Hold on a second! What just happened? What was that black mist? What curse?" Subaru attempted to make sense of the situation before he made any brash decisions.
"A curse can vary on their effects, but all curses have one general rule that cannot be broken I suppose. All curses require physical contact to take place for the curse to be inflicted. In particular, the curse that was placed upon the maid was one that drains mana, most likely from the Wolgarms around the village I suppose." Beatrice twirled her drills with her finger as she explained.
"Rem, what cursed you?" Subaru immediately turned towards the maid. "A puppy that the kids were playing with. They wanted Rem to pet it, but it bit her when she did." Rem's response made Subaru grit his teeth. "I'm going to the village, Rem, tell the others." Subaru didn't wait for an answer as he activated the watch and slammed his palm down. A flash of blinding orange later, XLR8 stood where Subaru had been.
With a burst of speed that made the stray papers on the table next to Beatrice flutter away, the speed creature was gone.
Rem, who had been about to protest about the boy going alone, balled her fists in a rare display of frustration before turning towards Beatrice. "Beatrice-sama, Rem is sure that there will be villagers that have been cursed. Although Rem is nothing but a humble maid, she pleads for you to assist Subaru-kun." Rem bowed, hoping the Great Spirit would listen.
Beatrice looked at the Oni and sighed. "As much as Betty loves to keep her dress clean, she supposes that she doesn't have much of a choice but to agree, I suppose." The Spirit got off her chair as she raised her hand, a portal made from Yin magic opening before her.
Rem gave her a grateful expression before turning and running out of the library, trying to find her sister and Roswaal to inform them about the situation.
Subaru made it to the village within seconds, and what awaited him was nothing but chaos. Everyone in the village was running around with torches in their hands, calling for…
Subaru's eyes widened when he heard them calling out the names of the village children. He cursed underneath his breath before dashing to the villager closest to him. Caution be damned, if anything happened to the kids he'd never forgive himself.
As expected, the villager screamed, thrusting his torch in front of him towards Subaru who caught it with lightning-fast reflexes. "M-monster!" The man screamed, catching the attention of multiple people.
Subaru held up his hands, although he knew that it wasn't going to help much. "Whoa chill!" He willed his visor to go away, to try to make himself look more friendly. "It's me Subaru!"
There were multiple protests about his claim, but Subaru decided to get to the point. "Look, I don't care if you believe me or not, just tell me what happened to Petra and the others!" The speed creature's urging made everyone else quiet down.
The village elder stepped forward, her normally happy face replaced with a serious one. "They are missing, it happened just half an hour ago." Subaru prepared to dash off, when the village elder raised a hand to stop him. "If that really, is you Subaru, please, find our children." She pleaded.
Subaru gave a nod before dashing off into the forest. He weaved through multiple trees, looking around while calling each of the kids by their names.
After receiving no response, XLR8 came to a stop at a clearing, his visor disappearing. In front of him stood what he assumed was a Wolgarm, its black fur with glowing red eyes and horn made it look menacing in the moon's light.
"So, you and your friends are the ones responsible for this." The mabeast merely growled in response before jumping towards him.
In seconds, the mabeast hit the floor, dead. Subaru looked at his right three clawed hand, before shaking the blood off of it. "They're ruthless creatures that would eat you alive Subaru, remember that." He told himself as he felt the guilt of murdering a living creature, even if it were an animal, start gnawing at his subconscious.
"I have to find the kids before I transform back." He looked up at the moon, before adopting his visor once more before becoming a blur, speeding through the forest. He encountered multiple mabeasts, which he instantly made quick work of, resuming his search.
Subaru noticed how the trees seemed to be thinning, so he increased his speed until he came across another clearing with a hill. He raced forward, seeing people lying on the hill, and instantly he saw who they were.
"Petra! Lucas! Mildo! Meina! Dyne! Cain!" He called their names as he ran. Subaru stopped near them as he checked for injuries. They had a few small cuts and bruises but otherwise seemed okay, physically at least. Subaru saw how each of them were grimacing, faces contorted in pain. "They've been cursed." He realized.
"Beatrice, she can undo this, right?" He tucked Petra and Lucas underneath his arms as he dashed towards the village, upping his speed. Once he caught sight of a villager, he skid to a stop in front of them. "Wait here, I'm going to bring the rest of them, they've been cursed and Beatrice is the only one who can help them. Send someone to the mansion and ask for her." Subaru explained as quickly as possible before dashing off again and once more reappeared with two of the kids, once again disappearing and then reappeared for the final time with the last two.
He gave them to the villagers before removing his visor and doing a headcount.
"Wait, weren't there 7? Where's the girl with the braid?" He vaguely remembered a girl with blue hair tied into a braid.
"There you are I suppose." Subaru was a little surprised to see that Beatrice was already here, he had been planning to run to the mansion on his own since it would have been faster than sending a villager there.
"Beatrice, they've been cursed. Take it from here, I'm going back there's one more kid that I'm missing."
He didn't wait for a response as he disappeared into the forest once again.
Beatrice sighed. "Honestly, ordering a lady around and not even waiting for a response, I suppose." Regardless, she made her way towards the kids, ignoring how the villagers seemed to be unable to believe that she can be of assistance.
Meanwhile, Subaru had returned to the hill where he had found the kids, thinking it was the best spot to start his search for the remaining child.
"Blue hair with braid, blue hair with braid…." He muttered underneath his breath like a chant, focusing his eyes on the edges of the trees before looking around the hill. That was when he noticed the set of prints, that matched those of a small child's leading into the forest in front of him.
Not wasting a second, he donned his visor and took off, following the prints which led him into a small clearing with a fallen down tree. He spotted the last kid, Meili, if he remembered correctly, next to the log and made to run towards her when the Omnitrix started beeping.
"Shit." Was all he could say before the watch timed out, returning him to his original human form.
Regardless, he made his way to the girl and crouched before her, checking her for injuries.
"Huh, that's strange. You're not injured…" He noted.
That's when he realized that something was off.
He stepped away from the girl and into the middle of the clearing as he heard rustling from behind him, then in front of him.
Subaru grimaced as he realized that there were multiple mabeasts prowling at the edge of the clearing, effectively having him surrounded.
He took the girl into his arms even if he found her to be suspicious. He wasn't going to let her get killed.
The mabeasts just watched him as he took of his jacket tying them around the girl and then to his chest, making it so that the girl was on his back and that there was no need to carry her.
He adopted a fighting pose, remembering Four Arms' instinctive fighting style. The first mabeast lunged at him, as if to test the waters.
Subaru reacted without hesitation, smashing the mabeast's head into nothing. Blood rained from the gaping hole that used to be connected to a head as the mabeast's body flew away before crashing into a tree, cracking said tree nearly into half.
He heard another one coming from behind him, so he jumped, higher than any normal person could. Twisting his body midair, he faced the beast that was below him and kicked it into the ground, turning the once mighty beast into nothing but a bloody pancake.
Subaru stepped away from dead mabeast, internally mourning how his trainers were now covered in blood.
"Alright, you know what?" He mumbled as the rest of the mabeast, totaling more than 40, rushed him at once. "bye."
A mushroom cloud of black smoke covered the clearing as Subaru started sprinting away. The smoke seemingly followed him, when in reality, he didn't turn off the spell and instead kept feeding it more mana. Currently he was a living, moving smoke grenade that just didn't know how to stop expelling the sense stealing cloud of black gas that came from the spell known as Shamak.
Subaru laughed crazily as he ran. "I can't believe this is actually working!"
He noticed Meili seemed to be getting agitated, flailing her arms around. Due to the aforementioned sense stealing nature of Shamak, Subaru assumed that she was having a panic attack from being unable to see, smell, hear or feel.
"Shit I should've known." He turned off the spell, running faster before bursting out of the gas cloud.
He turned around to calm the shrieking Meili when he felt a force collide with him. Subaru was sent flying backwards, towards a tree. At the last second, he turned around and crossed his arms to block, preventing Meili from being flattened and instead taking the hit himself. Subaru screamed in pain as his arms collided with the very, very solid tree. His arms hurt like hell, but even so Subaru forced himself to his feet and pulled his arms out of the tree, leaving a very noticeable dent on the tree in the shape of his arms.
That's when he realized that Meili was no longer on his back. Ignoring his bleeding arms, Subaru turned around, desperately hoping that he was not too late.
What he saw was arguably more confusing than distressing.
Meili, crouching, as she pets a bald, black furred puppy that happily barked at her. Subaru looked at the puppy's paws. Where the puppy's paw had made contact with the ground, the earth itself seemed to have moved towards where Subaru had been a minute ago. He put two and two together.
The puppy used earth magic?
"Meili! Be careful, that thing's dangerous!" He warned her, fearful that she was going to be killed.
Only for Meili to laugh.
"Oh, he won't hurt me. I'm not sure about you though." She stuck out her tongue in a playful manner, but what she just said was far from playful.
Subaru now realized why she had been uninjured and why there were so many mabeasts in one single area, as if they were trying to ambush him.
Meili was the one behind it all.
"You, you're the one behind all of this aren't you?" Subaru pointed a finger at her, his tone was accusatory, but his eyes seemed to reflect how he doubted what he was saying. How could he not? Even with the evidence in front of him, he found it hard to believe that a little girl was capable of this.
"Aw, don't be like that Mister. I don't want to do this either, but Mama didn't give me much of a choice." Meili responded in a voice that was eerily calm.
Subaru clenched his fists as he adopted a fighting stance, seeing the horde of Wolgarms that he had lost was running towards him.
Am I going to die again?
He shook the thought out of his head.
"While I have to admit that Mister is full of surprises and is unbelievably strong. I don't think that even you can get out of this situation without turning into one of your forms. Elsa is going to be disappointed if you die here without fighting her again so, please try to survive." Meili said in a sickening happy tone. Subaru ignored her, even if he was internally shell-shocked at the revelation that this little girl knew Elsa, he had to focus on trying not to die.
The horde of Wolgarms finally caught up to him. Subaru blocked a claw aimed at his face with his already injured hand, making his wince as more blood spurted out of his hand. He quickly retaliated, kicking it away with his foot. Another lunged at him and Subaru turned his body to the right, before kneeing it in the stomach.
He heard another one behind him, so he turned around, swinging his fist at the same time driving the mabeast into the ground. He ducked as another one narrowly clawed his throat. Subaru turned quickly, grabbed it by its tail and threw it at a group of mabeasts.
Subaru yelled in pain when he felt a particularly fast mabeast claw his back before jumping out of his reach. While he was momentarily distracted by the pain, another mabeast bit his thigh, to which Subaru smashed its head in with his fist. He winced as he saw the amount of blood on his thigh.
Subaru briefly wondered why the shield from before wasn't protecting him, but quickly put that thought aside as he once again engaged with the mabeasts.
The endless attacks from all directions were too much, as eventually a bloodied and battered Subaru fell to his knees, exhausted. The circle of mabeasts around him drew ever closer, and Subaru closed his eyes, knowing his fate was sealed.
That's when he heard a scream.
"GET AWAY FROM HIM!" Chaos took hold anew as the mabeasts around him became nothing but bits of flesh and a shit-ton of blood. He briefly heard the sound of chains, before exhaustion took hold and he passed out.
Subaru's eyelids fluttered open, and his blurry vision cleared…for him to see the ground racing past.
"Huh?" He let out a groan as he felt himself being carried. "Subaru-kun!" He looked around, assessing the situation. Rem was carrying him in a fireman's carry, with Ram next to them. There was a pack of mabeasts chasing after them.
"Rem, Ram? What happened after I was knocked out?"
"Rem and I found you about to be turned into dogfood, per usual Barusu fashion. My amazing sister saved you and we initially tried to fight them off before we were forced to retreat." Ram summarized the situation as she turned around and shot a blade of wind at a mabeast that had gotten too close for comfort. "Can't you turn into something more useful Barusu?"
Subaru looked at the Omnitrix, only to see it still recharging. "I can't yet." He replied before turning to look at Rem who was still carrying him. It only now registered how embarrassing this situation was. "Uh Rem, could you put me down?" He asked.
"Unfortunately, Subaru-kun is too injured to be able to run so Rem is afraid that she cannot," Rem's statement made the Japanese teenager realize just how injured he was. "While Rem has been healing you to the point where Subaru-kun won't die of blood loss, Subaru-kun is not capable of fighting right now."
"Right, right, Rem, Ram, do me a favor and just keep running straight." Subaru shifted his position. "Just trust me on this." He finished. Rem and Ram looked at each other before they nodded at him. Seeing this Subaru chuckled. "Alright then."
He took in a deep breath, bracing himself before screaming "SHAMAK."
He felt something inside him pull painfully, to the point where he almost felt like he was going to pass out. "Heh, Puck did say that I had no control over my gate. I probably really damaged it right now." Subaru smiled. "At least you dumb mutts can't follow us anymore."
The trio ran out of the black smoke and, after a few more minutes of running, hid inside a bush.
Rem put him down on the floor gently as she started to fully heal him. Now that he was no longer being carried, he could see the condition the twins were in. Ram, while mostly unhurt, seemed to be doing all she could just to move, with Rem having the most injuries. Several cuts were spread across her uniform, with a few sporting bloody wounds. "You're hurt." Subaru felt guilty, it was his fault they were like this.
"Barusu should look at himself." Ram responded.
Subaru grinned. "I guess we're all pretty banged up, aren't we?" He now looked at them seriously while he tried to think of a plan.
"Ram, Rem, I want you both to run away."
The two looked at him like he was crazy, and in a way, he felt that he was indeed crazy.
"Subaru-kun what you are you saying? You are in no condition to fight, and the watch hasn't recharged so you can't transform." Rem stated and Subaru grimaced. "Yeah, I know, but still. I have a plan." He turned to them. "Okay it's less of a plan and more of a stall for time kinda thing, at least, until the Omnitrix recharges. Besides it looks like Ram can't go on for any longer, and I'm pretty sure you've exhausted your mana in the fight and in healing me as well Rem. While I'm not in fighting condition I can run just fine now. So thinking strategically, if I make a distraction and make them all come after me, that should give you enough time to go and get backup, or do something. Besides I won't die so easily," Subaru stood up, wincing a little at the pain. Rem and Ram were in disbelief. He was crazy.
"Barusu have you lost your mind? You can't be as foolish as to think you can survive against such numbers alone!" Ram argued.
"I already said that I'm going to, and trust me when I say that I'm as hardheaded as they come, so there's no use trying to convince me otherwise." Subaru shrugged, closing his eyes tiredly as they all heard the howls of the Wolgarms drawing closer.
"They're going to get here soon; you have to make up your mind." Subaru urged, his eyes bearing into them, showing how determined he was.
"Nee-sama…" Rem asked her sister hesitantly; she didn't want to leave Subaru alone. It was true that while she had exhausted her mana supply, and was weaponless as she had lost her weapon in the midst of battle, she refused to let Subaru go alone.
Ram, who was similarly suffering from a lack of mana and the sudden burst of activity that she wasn't accustomed to due to her lazy lifestyle up until this point, had tired her out more than she thought. She hated that Barusu was right about him being the only one capable of moving fast enough to distract the mangy mutts that thirsted after her (she truly found it ironic how a mangy mutt was going to distract the other mangy mutts from killing her amazing self, not that she would admit it to Subaru), but she wasn't one to let emotions rule her judgement, and so…
"Barusu, is right for once."
"Sister!"
"For once, huh, let's just hope I live long enough to be right a lot more." Subaru gave them a thumbs-up as he stepped out of their hiding spot. Rem was going to grasp his hand and plead for him to run with them, but Ram grabbed ahold of her and started dragging her away. Rem looked back at Subaru, bloody and battered, but still moving towards the mabeasts that ran at him.
"Sister, Subaru-kun won't survive!"
"We have to make sure we do our part Rem, Barusu said so himself, he's going to be fine." Ram urged, pulling Rem along more forcefully as the two of them half ran, half staggered towards the village.
Rem was silent as she watched Subaru, waiting for him to run.
He didn't.
Instead, he faced them straight on.
Ram was already aware of this; she had seen Subaru's eyes and she knew he was trying to convey his intentions to her using them. She had caught on.
"Sister!"
Ram ignored her sister's calls even if her heart clenched painfully.
"Sissy!"
At this, she stopped moving, in surprise.
It was all Rem needed to break free. She tried to run towards Subaru but tripped before she could, so she could do nothing but raise her arm towards him and scream "Subaru-kun!" with sheer desperation in her voice.
Subaru, hearing this, smiled. The mabeasts slowly grew closer as he took his stance.
"Secondary Transformations Available." The Omnitrix spoke in his voice.
Time seemed to slow down as both Rem and Ram watched the teenager, who they were sure was about to be mauled to death.
Suddenly a bright light erupted, sending a shockwave which sent Ram to her knees. A pillar of orange light rose into the air, its intensity lighting up the night. The two Onis watched as the light died down.
Subaru stood where he had been, his wounds closing rapidly. The mabeasts in front of him were dead, and the rest of the horde looked at him in wariness.
Subaru's irises glowed with intense orange light.
As intense as the horns that jutted out of his forehead.
He slammed his foot into the ground, creating a wave that spread through the earth and towards the rest of the horde, killing most of them.
"Natsuki Subaru," He growled, "is about to be as FANATICAL AS AN ONI."
With that said, he ran towards the mabeasts, tearing them apart with his nails.
When he got bit, he bit them back. When he got hit, he hit them back even harder. When he got clawed, he clawed them to death. He was a demon, and he was going to fight like one.
He ripped and teared until there were none left. None except for the puppy from before. The girl was no longer in sight, but Subaru didn't care.
His sanity was fraying as he was starting to give in to the Oni form's instincts. He just had to beat this little shit and it was all over.
Until the little shit started growing huge, until it towered over Subaru, bearing its maw at him as it roared.
"Bossgarm." He started laughing deliriously as he jumped at the mabeast, only for it to smack him away with its paw. He got sent flying into the ground, forming a trench from where he slid across the ground.
"Bossgarm." He kept muttering under his breath. "BOSSGARM, BOSSGARM, BOSSGARM." He laughed even harder as he leapt up towards the mabeast once again.
It readied its paw to smack him away again, but Subaru reared back his fist and punched a hole straight through it, appearing on the other side of the hole drenched in blood. He laughed wildly as he punched the mabeast in the eye, making it explode into a flower of blood and gore. He clambered on top of the beast, grabbing its ear and pulling it off.
The Bossgarm howled in agony as it tried to bat him away with its remaining paw. But Subaru grabbed onto its horn as he shifted in front of the beast's remaining eye. The red eye stared at him hatefully as Subaru stared back at it, a moment of clarity emerging from his rapidly deteriorating mental state. "Die." He simply said as he punched the head of the Bossgarm with all his strength.
The mabeast fell to the ground, its heavy body making the ground vibrate with the impact. Rem and Ram watched in awe and shock as Subaru got on top of its dead corpse, his glowing orange horns finally becoming visible to them.
"S-subaru-kun?"
Subaru looked at the moon, the light reflecting off of his crazed face as he laughed.
He was a demon laughing at the future.
I got no excuse for the long time in updating other than life.
So his current lineup is just aliens from the original series but that'll change in due time, I've got some things planned for every time a new alien shows up. I'm also deciding whether or not to break Subaru's gate or not, man's already powerful enough as is. That being said I'll explain more about the Secondary Transformations next chapter, I need to finalize somethings on it before I do. As for the reason he has so much mana, It's due to the alien DNA within the Omnitrix. All living beings have mana so yes. Just pretend it makes sense. I tried to dial back the speed at which the chapter progressed but it just kinda had a mind of its own and if it seems rushed then I'll just try harder on making the next one paced at a comfortable speed. I'll probably come back to these chapters later and edit them.
Until next time.
