While we still have the ability to write letters as a way to communicate with Hyrule for emergencies, I had never expected something to pop up so soon. From the moment I set eyes on the letter I knew it was bad.
I had been staring off into space when out of no where, the letter had appeared on my desk. Once I had gotten over the initial shock, I slowly opened the letter, and the contents that were in that letter would be words that I would never forget.
I stared down at the letter for what felt like the millionth time this morning. My red eyes narrowed and my stomach tightened with dread. I could not BELIEVE what was happening: 'I could not! How was it even possible someone as skilled as her could have had been kidnapped?'
Dear Midna,
I request your immediate assistance: the Hero of Twilight has been kidnapped by the demon king's servant Girahim. I know that the way to our world is shattered, but as you know the hero best, I feel your presence would be a great help. And as much as I hate to admit it, I need help, I can't do it alone. Please, we need your help, Hyrule is counting on you. I'm concerned what because I know what he's planing and I'm worried about it. Send me a response as soon as you are able, if there is anything I can do before you arrive, I'll endeavour to do so, once you arrive to the castle we will start planning a rescue mission.
Signed, Princess Zelda
I sighed and took a shuttering breath, the Princess of Hyrule was counting on me? But I'm not the hero, how the heck can I save the Hero of Twilight if I can't even get to the World of Light.
As I looked back down at the letter, I thought back to something that Zelda had written in the letter. Something about the hero being kidnapped by someone named Girahim.
Who even is this Girahim, anyway? And how does Zelda know so much about his plans? Zelda would explain everything when I arrive in the World of Light.
I reread the letter one more time before my eyes shined with determination. I then stood up from the desk I had been sitting at. I left the room and made my way down the many hallways to where the blacksmith resides. Dawn didn't notice her at first, or until I started speaking.
"Hello, Dawn, I need a very important favor from you." I said in a rush of words. Dawn jumped in surprise before she looked up. She nodded before getting up, her eyes filled with curiosity and concern.
"Yes of course, what is it that you request me to help you with, Princess?" She asked me with a warm smile on her face. I showed her the letter from Princess Zelda, and while she read it I explained to her that I needed to make another mirror of Twilight.
Dawn paused for a moment after hearing my request. Then after a few moments of silence, she spoke up once more. "But Princess, you had all of the mirror's distroyed. Are you sure you want another one made?" Dawn asked me and I nodded my head rapidly in response.
"Yes! It's the only way to get to the world of light. The Hero of Twilight is in danger, and I need to save her!" I quick responded with determination shining in my eyes. Dawn nodded and quickly left the room to find the blacksmith.
I sat down and waited for what felt like hours but was no more than a few minutes, when I saw Dawn and Midnight finally renter the room. Midnight was a fast yet efficient and good worker.
"Greetings, Princess Midna. I heard about your request from Dawn. I'm not sure how long it will take to build a new mirror of twilight. But I'm happy to help in any way that I can." Midnight replied quietly. I could tell that Midnight had never done anything like this before. I nodded slowly fiddling with the hem of my long black skirt anxiously, as Midnight's gaze met mine.
Midnight's eyes softened as she spoke, this time her voice was laced with reassurance. "These kinds of things take time to create, Princess, we also must do the appriate safety tests to assure it will work, not that it completely removes the risks." Midnight gently explained.
I felt frustrated but I sighed and nodded my head in understanding. I just hoped that it wouldn't take to long. Don't worry Zelda, I'll be there as soon as I can. I told myself with a determined expression forming on my face as I waited patiently for the blacksmith to fannish her work.
