Falling down into the cauldron, the boy couldn't make sense what was happening anymore, finally losing consciousness and disappeared into the abyss. However, despite the despair he felt from this outcome, one thing kept him satisfied. They won. Terumi lost. He did something. He saved his family. But he will never be remembered.
After what seemed like months, he finally woke up…
Prologue
"MASTER SPARK!"
"FANTASY SEAL!"
Somewhere, two girls were dueling one another in a battle of bullets.
Danmaku. A battle where people shoot a multitude of bullets while dodging and weaving through the opponent's shots. Some may call something like this overkill, but others find beauty in the many different patterns that are created through sheer practice and skill. Talent plays a big factor, but not for this 'ordinary' magician.
Having finished sparring, Reimu Hakurei and Marisa Kirisame landed in a field.
"Guess I won again." Reimu said nonchalantly.
"I swear, I'll beat you one day, and I can't wait to see your crying face when I do so!" cried Marisa.
"Like that will happen anytime soon. Let's head back and have some tea, I'm tired after all that."
"Why you… whatever, I'll take you up on your offer."
Flying through the skies, the shrine maiden and magician headed back to the Hakurei shrine.
Gensokyo, a truly wonderful place filled many forgotten things. It is a place that is isolated from the world, a dimension of its own. Youkai freely roam this place, and are kept in check by the Hakurei Shrine maiden as well as the Youkai Sage herself. It is a known fact that it was the Youkai Sage that created the Great Hakurei Barrier along with a Hakurei shrine maiden. This was a paradise for those removed and forgotten by society, and a place of great danger as well.
Reimu Hakurei is the current shrine maiden of the Hakurei Shrine. Since birth, she was orphaned and was raised by Yukari Yakumo, the Youkai Sage. While growing up, she learned how to exterminate youkai and showed a innate talent for it as well. Although I said exterminate, many still live peacefully unless there was a reason to cause some ruckus, most of which are just pranks in all honesty. All they usually get is a beating by the teen miko, and if they do 'die', they just come back to life due to have little damage they sustained most of the time. Fairies are also no exception to this, but they are guaranteed to always revive whenever they die, losing their memories being the only drawback.
Marisa Kirisame is the self-proclaimed 'Ordinary Mage'. She is the complete opposite of what she says to be, but it also makes sense in the fact she is still just an ordinary human, while true magicians are essentially anything but human. They are a type of youkai in fact.
"It's been pretty quiet without any incidents lately hasn't it?" Marisa said as she broke the silence between the two rivals.
"I rather have it be this way, resolving incidents is a pain anyways," said the shrine maiden.
"Oh come on, what's the fun in that?"
"It doesn't have to be fun, I'd rather just relax and drink tea all day long at the shrine."
"You're no fun you know that?"
"Keep your quips to yourself, let's just not do anything loud and flashy for the rest of the day. Those fairies are getting annoying." Reimu snarked.
"Fine, guess I'll annoy Alice after I head back to the Forest of Magic. Maybe I'll borrow another book," Marisa said.
"I swear I'll never understand why you're such a kleptomaniac."
(Somewhere near the Misty Lake)
"…ugh…what happened?"
It was just another day for Natsuki Komaeda as he woke up.
"What a weird dream, me falling down the Boundary? Heh, as if that will ever hap-"
Suddenly, everything clicked in as he started to panic.
"WHAT THE HELL!? WHY AM I HOME!? SHOULDN'T I BE FLOATING AROUND IN GOD KNOWS WHERE?! WAIT, WHY IS THIS PLACE SO DIFFERENT? I DON'T REMEMBER A LAKE BEING NEXT TO MY HOUSE!" Natsuki blurted out as he saw the large lake outside his window.
"I…is this… for real?"
Soon enough, it dawned on him that he was somewhere else entirely. A new world. A new atmosphere. Lots of fairies flying around.
"What the- Are they fairies? What is this world? Why do I feel like I know this place?"
Natsuki looked across the lake, but to no avail thanks to the mist. He couldn't see the other side at all.
"…Let's just go out, I think I'll understand more if I explore a bit."
Reaching out for his equipment, he realized that there was nothing to grab. Remembering that he lost his weapon before falling down into the Boundary, he finally pieced together that he was in a different dimension full of lush green, well, greenery. An all natural world without any form of industrial progress, save for the technology created by the kappas which are eco-friendly. It dawned on him that he may not even have his old powers.
"I should try to do something, if nothing, I'll have to learn everything from scratch."
Nothing
No seithr.
He had an actual eye. Not an Azure Grimoire.
"Well that busted, no Azure Grimoire, no powers huh? Guess I'll have to learn from scratch whatever I can."
With that, he left the house, only to meet several fairies that randomly shot projectiles at him.
"GIVE ME A GODDAMN BREAK!"
It didn't take long for him to figure out that it was all a joke, but it still hurt to get hit by one of those. Soon enough, he was at the base of a mountain with a set of stair that led up to what seemed like a red Shinto Gate.
"A shrine? Maybe there's something I could make use of there, too bad the stairs are long af."
And so, he started to climb slowly, but surely.
Hey there! I'm Natsuki (not the one you just met), and this is my very first fanfic! I have done several before which I scrapped due to work constraints, but I would like to start anew with something I love very much! Touhou! Yes, that one bullet hell game where most people just die over and over. Well, tough luck if you're one of them since I have 1cc ed Normal EoSD, PCB, and IN. You'll make it there someday, don't worry. I wanted to start off with introducing Natsuki (self-insert OC character, I know.) to the world of Gensokyo as he lost all his power after falling down into the Boundary. What's the Boundary? Does it have something to do with Yukari? Nope, it's actually all BlazBlue stuff. Natsuki(OC) is actually supposed to be a BlazBlue original character I created, but due to how complicated BlazBlue is, I decided to skip past the origin story and just move onto doing what I wanted. I plan on starting a BlazBlue story that takes place after the events of Centralfiction (4th main game in the series) to show Natsuki's origin and his experiences before supposedly dying. That will have to wait until I am done doing the Windows 1st generation games (excluding PoFV, I hate that game) as this prologue is set before the Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil and the story will progress through to Imperishable Night. Immaterial and Missing Power will be included as well since I wanna have someone join the adventures as well. You can guess who indeed. Reviews would be appreciated and your ideas are also welcome as well.
