Shi sighed pleasantly as she awoke. Under her head, a heartbeat thumped steadily. She raised her head from its place on Adachi's chest and watched him silently. A soft smile danced on her lips as she watched him. There were still some questions to be answered. But, if their initial thoughts were correct, then this case was over. In the brief bits of light that filtered through her blinds, he looked peaceful. She raised herself up, hovering over him as she watched him sleep.

"You know that watching me sleep is creepy right?" Adachi asked, smirking at her jolt as he opened one eye. "Not that I blame you. I would do the same if I were you." He said as he moved to sit up slightly. He grinned as she blushed, his arms wrapping around her. He brushed his lips against hers.

"So, what's the plan?" He asked, peppering light kisses against her lips as he spoke. He pulled her closer to him as she replied.

"Deal with any autopsies I may have, whilst you detectives ensure that the prosecution service can get a guilty verdict on that kid." She chuckled, going to move away, only to be pulled back into his embrace.

"Mmm, they can wait a bit though. I found something more fun for us to do." He countered. His lips ghosted down her neck, dancing over the marks of the previous night. His tongue traced one in the curve where her neck met her shoulder, grinning as she shuddered in delight. But the sound of her phone buzzing made him growl.

She leant over, picking it up from the side and answering it.

"Tawakemono." She said, stifling a laugh as his lips ghosted along her jawline. She paused, listening to what the person on the other end of the line said.

"Wait….why are they sending it to me? That's not my jurisdiction. Unbiased? But, all pathologists should strive to remain….yes, but…. I see. I understand." He paused in his actions, looking at her as she listened to the other person.

"What is it?" He mouthed at her.

"Alright. I take it the pathologist in question will be joining me for the autopsy. Ok. I shall be there shortly." She said before hanging up the phone. She looked at him before explaining. "That was a defense attorney for a murder case in Tokyo. They've requested an independent autopsy for the case and I was chosen to do it. Which now means my morning is gonna be spent with someone over my shoulder." She sighed, moving out of his lap and climbing out of bed.

"Seriously? Don't they know you have enough to do?" He asked as he watched her.

"With the suspect in our case under arrest, a lot of my time is clear. And they will say that the routine autopsies from the hospitals can wait." She replied as she went to her wardrobe. She pulled out a short sleeve blouse, holding it against her. He frowned slightly.

"I imagine you want to look professional right?" He asked, making her pause and turn to him. "I always think a long sleeve shirt looks better than a short sleeve. Far more professional looking." He explained.

"Hmm, perhaps you have a point." She said, returning the short sleeve blouse and pulling out a long sleeve one. She grabbed a pair of black trousers and disappeared into the bathroom. As he heard the shower running he stood up. He pulled the short sleeve blouse out, looking it over before hiding it amongst his clothing. He turned as he heard the shower stop before she stepped out, wrapped in nothing but a towel and surrounded by steam. He felt his entire body growl in arousal as she stepped by, walking over to a chest of drawers. She opened one, bending slightly to look at its contents.

"You still have some time though, right?" He whispered into her ear as he pressed against her back. The heat from her shower radiated from her skin, droplets standing out against it as his hands roamed her towel covered stomach.

"Not as much as you think. They started travelling here last night. They will be here in an hour, maybe two at most." Shi replied, the muscles in her abdomen fluttering as one hand moved up and the other moved down.

"I think we do." He countered. She could practically hear his grin, opening her mouth to comment when it was cut off by a gasp. One hand had slipped under her towel, fingers curling as he watched her.

"You are insatiable, did you know that?" She asked as she turned her head to him. He chuckled, capturing her lips with his as he pulled her towel away. He pulled her close, feeling the water on her skin soak onto him as he led her to the bed.

He glanced up at the clock, about three hours later. The two of them had arrived about half an hour before the other pathologist did, despite Shi insisting that she should have been there an hour earlier. He smirked, deciding to remind her, if she continued to complain, that she wasn't in a rush when she was being pleasured. And there was a small part of him that enjoyed seeing people look in surprise at her unusually disheveled appearance. Her hair falling all over the place, pale skin decorated with bruises and marks.

Unfortunately, as he daydreamed, he failed to notice Dojima watching him until a fist connected with the side of his head, making him yelp.

"What the hell are you daydreaming about?! Get back to work." He snapped, turning back to his own desk. Adachi grimaced as he rubbed the side of his head, turning back to his desk, only to see Shi walking into the room followed by two older men.

"I don't know what you expected her to find." One of them said. He was a tall man with greasy black hair and a face that made you want to punch him. "I did everything by the book, as my audio recordings will prove." He added. He leered at Shi who looked back calmly, until he patted her on the backside. "Still, you're welcome to come to me with any questions baby doll." He laughed, not noticing the deathly silence that had filled the air.

Every officer in the room had frozen, all eyes fixed on the scene. Adachi was out of his seat, ready to knock the stranger out, until the chief stepped forward.

"Can I ask you for your name please, sir?" He asked, calmly standing beside Shi. The greasy haired pervert looked at him, obviously confused.

"What? Why? I gave her a compliment." He said.

"Perhaps you have failed to read the room." Shi suddenly interjected. Both the pathologist and the attorney with him turned to look at her.

"You just made an unwanted advance, and an inappropriate touch, on the only woman in a room full of men. All of whom have worked alongside said woman and one of which is her boyfriend." She explained. "I would suggest you leave before more basic instincts come into play." She added, watching the man run off. The attorney turned to her.

"I am so sorry Tawakemono-Sensei. But you have actually helped another investigation. We have received numerous complaints about that pathologist and his behaviour towards women. You just helped prove it." He explained, making Shi pause.

"Were these from female members of staff?" She asked.

"I cannot say as it is an ongoing investigation. But rest assured, your assistance is greatly appreciated. Good day to you Tawakemono-Sensei." He said, bowing to her before leaving. She watched him leave before turning to the chief.

"Guess I won't need to press charges." She said before turning and heading back down into the morgue. Adachi glanced at Dojima, who had gone back to his work before following her.

"Shi-chan, are you ok?" He asked as he stepped into her office. She looked up, surprised at his appearance.

"Why wouldn't I be? That was nothing compared to what some women have to deal with." She replied, leaning back in her chair. She smiled as she watched him open and close his mouth, trying to come up with a response.

"Although, I am glad you were ready to leap to my defense so quickly." She added as she rested her cheek on her hand, watching him. "On a side note, I meant to ask you this morning, what would say about accompanying me to the festival?" She asked him.

"You mean like a date?" He countered, watching her shrug. He smirked as he saw the light dusting of colour on her cheeks.

"If that is what you want to call it." She replied. He thought it over.

"Would you be wearing a yukata?" He asked suddenly, pausing as she nodded. "Could I see it beforehand?" He added.

"I guess. It's an old one I have. It's a little big to be honest." She replied, leaning back in her chair. "Or at least, it was the last time I wore it." She mused before looking back at him. "Shouldn't you be getting back to work? We don't want Dojima punching you again." She said, standing and walking around her desk to him.

"I don't know." He mused, smirking at her. "There is an awful lot of temptation here." He grinned at her, stepping closer to her. He paused as she took his tie. But she used it to pull him close, kissing him briefly.

"Try to control your desire. Resist that temptation until later." She said softly, her odd coloured eyes fixed on his face. She smiled gently, pressing her forehead against his. "Can you do that for me, please?"

"Of course. For you only." He said, grinning at her. He stood up straight, intertwining his fingers with hers for a moment before heading back to his desk. He paused by her office door. "I still wanna see you in your yukata before the festival though." He added, making her laugh.

"If you behave, you can see it tonight." She replied.

"It's a deal!" He called back as he disappeared into the corridor, leaving her alone to her work for the remainder of the day.
