Summary: When Natsu first met Lisanna he just couldn't get her name right…
Pairings: Natsu/Lisanna friendship, mentions of sisterly Mira/Lisanna, implied Natsu/Lucy, and Lucy/Lisanna friendship.
YouTube Prompt: ANatsu and Lucy video to Drops of Jupiter by Train because half the lyrics are about a girl flying with the stars and falling back to earth…..hmm who does that sound like? XD.
It was a typical day in the guild in which approximately three quarters of the members were in the middle of a brawl much to Lucy's exasperation. She managed to find a good hiding spot by a window on the second floor where she could curl up beneath the sun and read her book but she was finding it harder and harder to focus on the page before her when Natsu was making so much noise (he was now crowing because he managed to get Gray's boxers into Elfman's mouth and the bulkier 'manly' take over mage was beating the crap out of Gray).
"Such a troublemaker, isn't he?"
Lucy looked up to see Lisanna was leaning against the balcony and watching the brawling members with an exasperated fondness. "Huh? Yes, I suppose so," Lucy mumbled.
Lisanna smiled warmly at her. "He's a lot more restrained than he used to be though," she said, "I think you've been a good influence on him."
"I doubt that," Lucy snorted, "I think it might be the other way round. I've found myself destroying buildings more and more on missions."
Lisanna giggled at that and sat herself down beside Lucy. "I think that's just being a Fairy Tail mage," she said warmly, "even the Master destroys things."
"True," Lucy grinned.
"It's good to see that Natsu has someone to be close friends with," Lisanna mused, "I was so worried when I was in Edolas. He only had Happy and me, well I mean he had the whole guild, but he didn't talk to them much. He fought with Gray, got beaten up by Erza, and spent the rest of his time when not on a job or looking for Igneel, fishing. I'm so glad he found another friend."
"I'm glad to be his friend," Lucy admitted, "though I'm not sure how. When I first joined the guild he suddenly got very….I suppose cold is the right word for it, and kept calling me Luigi."
Lisanna giggled. "I think that's just how Natsu makes his friends," she said, "let me tell you how I got to know him."
"All right," Lucy said putting her book down properly. "I could use a good story."
"Well it all started on Natsu's first proper day in the guild, and I wanted to…."
It was a very boring morning at the guild, not even a brawl had started yet, as the older members stare blearily at one another, and the children members were either out on a job or quietly refining their magic skills in the corner somewhere. Lisanna was incredibly bored, Elfman-nii-chan was busy working on his poetry and Mira-nee was sitting in the corner scowling at everything, neither of them wanted to play. And because everyone was scared of incurring Mira-nee's wrath, no one else wanted to play with Lisanna either. That's when she saw him. The new guy. Sitting at a table looking half confused and half cross with an adorable pout on his face. He could play with her, couldn't he?
She approached him shyly and tapped his shoulder. "Hello!" she blurted out. "I'm Lisanna, do you want to play? We can play ninjas!" Mira-nee had brought her a manga recently and it was all about ninjas. Ninjas were cool.
"Hi," the boy blinked. "I'm Natsu. Erm…what's a ninja?"
"You don't know what a ninja is?!" Lisanna cried out aghast. "All right, scoot over and I'll tell you."
She then proceeded to spend half an hour ranting on about the awesomeness of ninjas, from their clothes, to their super-cool sneaky skills, to the jobs they do, and to the stories they were in. Natsu was sold within minutes.
"Yosh!" he pumped his fist in the air. "That sounds totally awesome. Let's play ninjas then! Nin-nin!" he grabbed Lisanna's hand and pulled her out of her chair. "Come one then Lasagne."
"What?"
"We're going to play ninjas," Natsu said slowly as if she was an idiot.
"Yeah, I know," Lisanna said annoyed, "but what did you just call me?"
"Lasagne," Natsu repeated, "it's your name."
"Erm, not it's not," Lisanna said, "its Lisanna."
"Lasagne."
"Lisanna."
"Lasagne."
"Lisanna."
"Lasagne."
"Lisanna."
"Lasagne."
"Lisanna."
"Lasagne."
"Lisanna."
"Lasagne."
"Lisanna."
"Lasagne."
"OH MY GOD!" Lisanna screamed losing all patience with Natsu. "My name is Lisanna. Lis-an-na, I am not a freaking pasta dish! Repeat after me Lis-an-na."
"Lasagne."
Now certain that Natsu was only doing this to be mean to her, Lisanna did something that any girl would do when being bullied – run to her older sibling. "Mira-nee!" she wailed as she ran towards her older sister who was brooding in a corner while sharpening a knife. "Natsu is being mean! He keeps calling me a food!"
"What?! I'll kill that little punk!"
"….and after Mira-nee almost skewered him with the knife before throwing him into the canal, Natsu never again called me a pasta dish," Lisanna finished her tale.
Lucy sweat-dropped. She should have known that the story was going to end violently. After all it was Fairy Tail they were talking about. "So that's where Natsu gets his obsession with ninjas from," she murmured.
"Oh!" Lisanna looked delighted. "Does he still play?"
"Yeah," Lucy grumbled, "and he has taken to using my underwear as ninja masks. Please make him stop."
"…"
"Oi!" they turned to see Natsu making his way towards them. "Luigi! Lasagne! Quit being so boring and come and play with me."
Lucy's eye twitched while Lisanna's mouth did the same, slowly, but steadily, a deep, dark, purple aura of fury leaked out of them as they glowered at the stupid pink-haired dragon slayer. "What did you just call me?" they asked in unison, and in a terrifyingly dangerous tone that was reminiscent of Erza at her angriest.
"Guh…." Was all that Natsu could get out before he suddenly fled. "You know what? Never mind!" he shouted over his shoulder. "I'll go and play with the Vulcans….I'm sure they'll be much nicer," he added under his breath.
