It took sixteen hours, forty two minutes, and breaking Natsu's hand before finally, finally, Lucy had finished giving birth to the most precious thing in the world (as long as she doesn't inherit any of her father's annoying habits). Lucy laid there completely exhausted as she held her baby in her arms, Natsu perched beside her and was grinning like a maniac while the rest of the guild surrounded them as they tried to catch a glimpse of the baby.

"She's so adorable, Lu-Chan!" Levy cooed, having finally elbowed her way past Erza, Mira, and Lisanna who had totally been hogging the best view of the baby. "Have you decided what to call her, yet?"

"No," Lucy sighed wearily, "we couldn't agree on anything."

"Lucy wanted to call her something boring," Natsu scowled childishly, "names that everyone has."

"And Natsu wanted to name her after food."

No one was really surprised about that. After all food was one of the great loves of Natsu's life.

"Well you have to name her soon," Erza said briskly, "after all we need to register her birth as soon as possible with the town council."

"Erm, couldn't it wait just a little bit?" Wendy asked hesitatingly. "Lucy-san is still under a heavy dose of pain relieving medication and she isn't exactly clear-minded."

"Doesn't change the fact that the brat has to have a name," Gajeel grunted, "after all we can't keep calling her 'brat'."

"Will you even call her by her name?" Levy grumbled.

She has yet to hear Gajeel use anyone's name, ever. She was forever stuck with nicknames related to her height and she was closest to him apart from Lily, who got stuck with 'my cat' all the time.

Gajeel just smirked at her and did his weird laugh which of course set the baby off into tears. Natsu snarled wordlessly at Gajeel before he took the baby out of Lucy's arms and comforted her, Lucy took this break gratefully as she rolled over and closed her eyes for a moment.

"Oi, Lucy!" Gray cried out. "Don't go to sleep just yet, you haven't named your baby."

Lucy moaned piteously in reply. "I don't know what to call her!" she wailed.

"I know what you can call her!" Happy chirped cheerfully. Everyone turned to look at him as he smugly crossed his arms. "Since Natsu is called Natsu, and Lucy is called Lushy, and this baby is part Natsu and part Lushy, so I think you should call her Nashi."

Half the guild collapsed at that. Nashi?! That was a terrible name! And very unoriginal, after all Asuka got her name from her parents' merging their names together. What's next? Will Laxus and Mirajane name their daughter Lira? Or would Erza and Jellal name their son Jerza? There had to be a line somewhere.

"Sounds like a wonderful idea," Lucy said dreamily, "Nashi…"

"Erm Lu-Chan?"

"Great!" Natsu pumped his free hand in the air. "Nashi Dragneel, it is! Good choice, Happy!"

"But-"

"I'll go and register the birth then," Erza said excitedly over Levy's attempt to protest, "come on Wendy you can help."

Did anyone care for the fact Lucy wasn't in her right mind right now? Surely they realised when Lucy was back in full health, in her right mind-set, and no longer drugged, she would hate the name Nashi? After all Lucy wanted something extra special for her child's name, she had been combing through baby name books to look for the right meaning for her child's name, and she hated the cheesy idea of merging the parents' names into one. Really hated it.

But it was too late. Everyone was calling the baby Nashi, and then Erza came back with the birth certificate which they all toasted to before getting terribly drunk. All Levy could do was have a drink, find a very good book, and hide until the fireworks were over.

FTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFTFT

Lucy was a little cranky in the morning which was enough to make anyone nervous. After she was the third most terrifying woman in the guild and had one hell of a kick. One misstep and she was likely to kick you out of the window….why did Natsu marry her again?

It didn't help that the baby had kept waking her up throughout the night and when Lucy had little sleep she got even crankier which meant even more terrifying than normal. Like on Erza's level of terrifying.

"…And we have so much to do still!" Lucy moaned into Natsu's shoulder. "We still have to name her, and fill out the registering form, and you still haven't finished baby-proofing the house!"

"I wouldn't worry Luce," Natsu patted her on the back, "we've already named the baby and Erza registered the birth on our behalf, and Mira and Lisanna said not to worry they'll baby proof the house," he finished off smugly. Ha! He was an awesome husband.

Lucy pulled away and frowned up at him lightly. "When did we name the baby?" she asked confused.

"Erm….last night, remember?" Natsu said as if she was an idiot. "Happy suggested Nashi and we all liked it, so she's now Nashi. See!" he waved the birth certificate in Lucy's face. "Nashi Dragneel!"

Natsu suddenly flew across the room and crashed into the wall as Lucy socked him one.

"WHO THE HELL SAID YOU CAN CALL MY CHILD NASHI?!"

"You did!" Natsu squeaked. "You thought it was wonderful!"

"I WAS HIGH ON PAIN MEDICATION BECAUSE I WAS BUSY BRINGING OUR CHILD IN THE WORLD! I WAS IN ABSOLUTE AGONY TRYING TO SQUEEZE OUT SOMETHING YOU PUT IN ME, AND HOW DO YOU REPAY ME?! BY TAKING ADVANTAGE OF MY DRUG INDUCED STATE!"

"Nashi is a great name," Natsu argued, "it was really clever of Happy, and I didn't see you come up with anything better!"

"I had a list but you kept rejecting them!"

"They were boring names," Natsu moaned, "and what's wrong with naming her after us. She' proof that we love each other, right?"

"Well, yeah," Lucy relented a little, "but still it's a bit vain of us to name her that, isn't it?"

"Well you're a very vain person," Natsu said truthfully, "though you don't really have the right to be since you're still very fa-"

"LUCY-KICK!"

Lucy felt very satisfied as she watched her idiot of a husband sail out of the window and across Magnolia before landing with a loud thump in the Cathedral's graveyard. Ha! Serves him right, Lucy thought smugly.

Nestled safely in her arms, Nashi gurgled, and instantly Lucy felt just a little bit guilty that she used violence in front of her precious child.

"Your Daddy is a moron," Lucy sighed to her child in an attempt to justify herself. The baby blinked her big brown eyes in agreement, and Lucy instantly melted at the sight of her and Natsu's child. She still couldn't believe it. If someone had told her just two years ago that she would marry Natsu and give birth to his child, she would laugh them out the door. "I suppose Nashi isn't bad really," Lucy murmured, "you deserve a special name because you're extra special," Nash blinked again. "And I suppose it could have been worse….He could have called you Bacon."
