Thor: The God of Thunder

Chapter I – Eternal Thor

So, I am back and as you can tell, this is a rewrite. The basic premise is simple, Death takes a portion of Thor's soul every-time the Ragnarök Cycle takes place and lets it reincarnate. Therefore, this story will focus upon numerous Thor's throughout the universe, all fighting to save their people, some doing it as heroes, others as villains, others allying together and others fighting one another. Trust me, the Marvel Universe will never be the same and I can guarantee that in my eyes, this story will become much better than the original, just give it a little time to develop and you will see what this story has in store.

However, the main Thor storyline will be mostly the same, the only differences being the removal of the future knowledge and the whole plot behind that. Plus, the addition of scenes about these other Thor's and what they're doing either openly or in the background based on the actions of the main Thor. But if you would like to read the original, then go to Webnovel and its on there.

Anyway, now that that's out of the way, let's get on with the story:

Victory and defeat.

Death and life.

The world was a constant cycle, built upon the very foundations of balance being found in contradictions. Every aspect of reality had a direct opposite to oppose it. With that contrast, balance could be found and that was the very foundation of reality.

He had lived his life as a warrior, fighting upon the battlefield. The Strongest and Greatest of the Asgardians they called him, but he was never praised for his intelligence. Just as he was strong, to balance such a force he was not made smart. But just because he wasn't smart, didn't mean he was stupid.

Thor was many things in his life, those who had known him called him many things. Some he liked, some he didn't but Thor had long since stopped caring about such minuscule and petty things. He lived purely within the moment, loving his wife Sif and enjoying the thrill of battle. Of fighting a foe where he could truly cut loose with all his might.

During the final days of Ragnarök, he had enjoyed his final pleasurable evening with Sif before heading out to battle the Midgard Serpent, Jörmungandr. Thor knew his fate, had always strived towards it after being told of his death by the Fates.

He much like all the Asgardians did not fear death

No, he craved it in its purest form. He craved a glorious death, to face it with all his strength and a smile upon his face. Thor wanted to make his death a story to be told in the great halls of Valhalla, to be sung across the cosmos. He wanted his death to be against a worthy foe that could not only match him but surpass him.

Thor had met such a foe in his battle against the World Serpent.

His mighty hammer, Mjolnir smashing its head open across the cosmos, destroying the very Yggdrasil in the wake of his strike. The world around him seemed to fall apart as Thor crumpled to his knees, the poison coursing throughout his body destroying him from within.

Yet he did not frown, nor beg, nor cry.

He did not fear what was to come, he looked forward to it with a smile upon his face. Even as in the distance, the skeletal figure of Death began to take shape, walking towards him, Thor did not waver. He was ready for his fate and rose as best as he could, unable to muster the strength to get to his feet.

Yet the figure before him changed, the skeletal face morphing into that of a young, pale-faced woman of haunting beauty. His breath caught in its throat, eyes widening as the woman walked towards him her robes twisting and changing to become more revealing, showcasing the pale skin of her curvaceous body.

'This is a sight to see before I go.' Thor thought to himself. "Lady Death."

The woman said nothing in response to his greeting, only coming to a stop before him as the world around them continued to tear apart and collapse in on itself. For a moment, he wondered if she truly was Death, the abstract form that he had come to learn from his father that all Gods of Death derived their power from.

"Thor Odinson." Whoever created such beauty, Thor did not know whether to curse or praise. Even her voice was enchanting, sending a cool chill up his spine. It was not an angelic sound, but haunting, much like the beauty she possessed. "You're task in this world is yet to be completed."

He went to speak only for the words to freeze in his mouth, his tongue unable to move and mouth unwilling to open. The poison was spreading deeper and deeper within him, grasping every fibre of his being, making him weaker and weaker.

"The future holds many challenges for your people, you especially." She told him. "My actions are limited, but yours are not. The survivors have allowed greed to rule them, absorbing the power around them to enrich themselves. They have escaped my grasp and I have seen their intentions. They threaten the delicate balance of the universe."

Survivors?

Escaping her grasp?

Thor had no clue as to what she meant nor what he was meant to do to stop this. He was on death's door, how was he meant to able her?

"You are free, but soon you will be theirs. Peasants now using their Prince as a puppet for their own means. But I will not allow them to escape my grasp forever, Death always finds a way to get what it desires." She told him and for a moment it took Thor some time to realise what she meant, but realisation soon began to dawn upon him.

This woman, she truly was Death.

And her pale hands reached out, drawing his soul forth, just as it began to pull away from her hands, withdrawing back into his body. He wasn't even consciously resisting, something else within him seemingly pulling him back to his body and away from her. However, her grasp was tight and before his very eyes, he watched part of his soul tear away.

It flickered and rested within her hand as his vision began to darken.

"You will awaken, unknowing of your future. But part of you, he will remember. He shall continue the journey and together." Those words spoken from the haunting beauty rung within his mind as his eyes began to close fully, breathing slowing to a halt. "When the time comes, you, Thor Odinson shall save your people and bring to me the fools who defy me."

He could barely register those words before he collapsed, form seemingly melting away into nothingness like the rest of his surroundings. But Death herself remained, stood with the abyss of space and time, nothing living or moving except a hole of swarming energy.

Yet around her, shadows pulsed fearfully, shrinking away from wherever her gaze touched. "You shall be mine eventually. He shall be my tool to bring you to me. Kill him if you wish, but Ragnarök can never be completed without Thor Odinson. Bring it about sooner and I can once again appear. You may have escaped my grasp momentarily, but all you have done is put yourself in a hole with no escape. Death will not be kind to you. I…will not be kind to you."

Then, Death released the portion of Thor's soul within her hands, releasing it within the swarming mass of energy. Shadows from all around rushed to reach it before the soul could enter but it was too late.

Death watched it all with a vacant gaze, neither pleased nor annoyed. She simply was finished with her task, though if one knew Death well enough, they might have noticed the glitter of amusement in her eyes as she watched the shadows rage.

Yet Death did not remain, disappearing from her position within the void of nothingness as seamlessly as she had appeared. Almost as if she was never really there to begin with.

Daina looked towards her child, a young boy no older than a few years old. He was her first child, the first of a new generation of Eternals. She knew little about why she had been chosen, or why she had to undergo what she had.

All she knew was that a group of Godlike beings, possessing power beyond anything she had imagined had arrived on their world. She was taken from her home and brought to a strange, mystical area. Others had been there, some changing before her eyes into grotesque figures, others never returning alive again.

Daina was one of the lucky ones, those called the Eternals who had succeeded. Though she didn't really know if she had, the beings that called themselves the Celestials had never told them what they considered to be a success, only giving them, the Eternals orders to follow. But when looking at the others, the Deviants then Daina was inclined to believe that she was a success.

After all, she was gifted with great power that she had never imagined possessing.

And now here she was, with a son she loved surrounded by those that she could call family. It was much better than her old life and in a way, Daina thanked and loved the Celestials for giving her such a chance.

"Donar." She called, the young blonde-haired child looking up from where he had been staring at the space between his hands. "What are you doing?"

"Practicing." He replied, turning back to look at his hands, eyes scrunching up cutely in concentration. Daina didn't know if it was normal for children to be so literate at such a young age, nor so able. But perhaps, Eternals were different from normal humans?

Daina couldn't say, all she could do was accept her son, Donar for who he was. A smart and determined little boy who made her proud with every achievement he made.

She still remembered holding him in her arms, he was a normal size for a baby or so she had been told. Yet he was heavy in her hands, the power that resided within all Eternals was greatly concentrated within him. All Eternals had felt it, even their leader, the first and greatest Eternal, Makkari had arrived to see her child.

And Donar had not disappointed, not that she had ever placed expectations upon him. She had even moved away from the main village, her husband Kronos remaining to lead the village as to not place unwanted pressure upon her son.

Yet he continued to impress all those with tales of his progress.

Even by Eternal standards, his levels of strength were impressive and while he had yet to access the power residing within him, Donar continued to work.

Feeling a pulse of energy from within her son, Daina's eyes widened momentarily, moving around to gain a better view. And there, sparking to life between his hands was sparks of lighting.

Overjoyed, Daina let out a cheer, clapping her hands. Her son was truly blessed by the Celestials to have already begun to manipulate the power within him. Even she had struggled greatly and many Eternals were still learning. Yet her baby boy, no older than five years was already beginning to make progress.

It was difficult for him to believe what his life had become.

He remembered what it used to be like, being the Prince of Asgard. It was a time filled with merriment within the golden halls, drinking and feasting and partying to his heart's content. Hunting and battling against foes of all kinds.

In his time, Thor had faced many foes, the greatest of which had been the cause of his death, Jörmungandr.

Yet he had faced many more in his long life.

Some of which, had been the Eternals, a result of the Celestials experimentation upon the Midgardians. Many had been amicable and friendly, but some had been prideful and mayhap's, he to had been too prideful to leave things be.

Thor had not lost, but he would admit that the Eternals possessed incredible power enough to make the fight enjoyable for a time.

Yet many had died or disappeared by the time the Aesir led by King Buri had arrived in Asgard. By the time his father had begun his conquest of the Nine Realms, the Eternals had been long gone with only a few remaining as protectors of Midgard. However, in the face of the power of the All-Father, they had not stood a chance.

But yet here he was, on Midgard and amongst the Eternals when at the height of their power. He was back in time, before his grandfather Bor ascended to the throne, before his father, Odin followed and before he was even born.

'I need to wait. Gather my strength and then when father arrives in Midgard, I shall tell him the truth. I shall warn him and together, we can stop those that Death warned me about from gaining power.' Thor thought as he sat comfortably within his seat amongst the council chambers.

All around, the Eternals of their village sat listening to the debate taking place down on the floor. A debate between the two ruling figures within the Eternals, Kronos and Ouranos.

Leaning over the railing, Thor watched with bored eyes as the two men argued over their different viewpoints. He had never been very diplomatic, the closest he had come to diplomacy was when Thrym stole Mjolnir, but that had ended in much the same way all of Thor's meetings with the Jötnar went.

With Mjolnir raised, battle and a great deal of death.

Thor was a blunt weapon and was used as such by Odin to great effect, Thor was well-aware of his faults. It was why he had focused so much time on enhancing his strengths, making him the strongest warrior in Asgard.

Debates such as these never caught his attention, even back in Asgard, preferring to leave it to his brother, Baldur. This debate especially confused him, on one end was Kronos, who idealised neutrality and pacifism. Thor could respect the Eternal for his power, but not his mentality. On the other end, there was Ouranos, an Eternal who despite not being as powerful as Kronos, desired war and domination.

Two men Thor could respect for different reasons, but he could not respect the reasons behind their debates.

Both men wanted one thing and one thing only, to prove themselves to their 'Gods,' the Celestials. They had been given three orders by the Celestials, both brothers desiring to fulfil their orders but how they went about it differed. Their orders were simple:

Protect the Celestials.

Protect the Great Machine, the Archive.

And correct excess Deviation.

For many years the Eternals had followed the rules and leadership of Kronos, his brother, Ouranos serving as his right-hand. But the divide that had been a long time in the making was finally coming about. Thor had seen it coming over a decade ago when he was but seven years old.

He may have been in the body of a child, but Thor still possessed the centuries of experience and knowledge he had accumulated in his time as Prince of Asgard. While not a gifted diplomat like Baldur, yet he didn't need to be to see the divide forming between brothers that had once been close. Thor had said nothing on it, spending his time growing and improving his powers.

Compared to the power he once possessed, what he had now was nothing in comparison. At least his powers were similar to what they had been before and this time he had experienced. He knew what worked and what wouldn't and therefore his progression was far greater than what it was before.

"The Deviants have grown in number far more rapidly than we had realised! For centuries they lived beneath the surface, out of sight and now they possess hordes in the millions!" Ouranos exclaimed to clambering cheers of agreement from his supporters. "Now they have set out to conquer the entirety of Thuria while we remain in seclusion!"

"War is not the answer!" Kronos argued but despite his position as leader, Ouranos had worked the people into a frenzy that whatever else he said was overshadowed by the jeering and cries of outrage.

Yet when Ouranos spoke once more, people listened. "War is the answer!" Again cheers sprung out. "One of our duties was to quell excess Deviants and we have failed. Negotiations have never worked with their kind and I see no reason why now will be different! We must go to war and purge the Deviants to their original numbers!"

Ouranos was a good speaker, Thor could admit that.

He knew what to say, how to say it and when to say it. When the longtime enemy of Makkari and first of the Deviants, Tantalus had returned to his throne as King of the Deviants, many amongst the Eternals had been worried. After all, Tantalus had made it no secret his distaste for Eternals nor his desire to see them all dead.

When he had left Midgard, the Eternals had been able to breathe easy, Tantalus seemingly drifting into legend. Becoming a bedtime story that his bodies mother, Daina had told him as a child.

Now he had returned, setting out to conquer the Thurian continent and turning it into a Deviant Empire. It was no wonder that Ouranos was seeing such a large amount of support from the Eternals that would normally follow the orders of Kronos. They were afraid of what Tantalus could do if he succeeded.

He on the other hand, to him the only thing that mattered was saving his people. What happened to the Eternals was of no bother to him.

War.

It was something Thor was intimately familiar with, it has been a part of his life for as long as he could remember. A constant that brought a sense of familiarity to him, yet this was not a war he needed to take part in.

He held no stake within its outcome.

His goal was simple and entirely separate from the future of the Eternals. While they waged war against one another, he would focus his time purely upon training. Just as he had done for the last two decades, Thor would push himself harder and harder, working towards regaining just a fraction more of his old strength.

Plans, they were never his strong suit.

Strength was all he had ever needed, Thor would wait till Odin arrived, then rely upon him to come up with the plan. It was his duty to just get stronger in order to face anything that could come his way until that moment.

Calming his breathing, Thor took a powerful step forward, foot cracking the ground beneath it as he took a strong stance. One hand simultaneously swiping out and a blast of wind rushed forth.

Before him, the trees and the land before him erupted upwards, carried on by the wind. Yet Thor continued on, stepping forward once more, his free hand encased in a glowing ball of cracking energy. He thrust it forwards, a large lightning bolt firing forth and striking against a nearby cliff face. Upon impact it exploded outwards, debris raining down to the ground as smoked wafted from Thor's extended hand.

"Doran." Hearing his name called, Thor raised to his full height, his large muscular frame on full view as he turned to the woman approaching. A beautiful red-haired woman clad in form-fitting armour and spear resting carefully in her hands.

"Mother." He greeted, the words sounding strange upon his lips even after so many years. Jörð or Gaea as she was more commonly known had been the one to give birth to him, by the time he had grown older, his father had married the Vanir Queen, Freyja. By that point, he has grown out of the need for a mother's love and so, to be thrust into the body of a babe with a loving mother had been an awkward situation to deal with.

"Are you not going to war?" She asked him, coming to a stop before him.

Thor shook his head. "I do not have any intention to do so, no." He told her and it was the truth, though she often interpreted his decisions as to the influence of something else. Unknowing of the real reason why he refused, nor why he acted the way he did.

"Do you truly hold such a distaste for your father?" Thor frowned, Kronos was a kind man, but he was not his father. His father was Odin Borson, the All-Father and King of Asgard. Kronos was not he, but that was not the reason he did not follow Kronos, nor why their relationship was so strained.

Kronos was a devout follower of the Celestials much like all First Generation Eternals. Thor on the other hand was not, his actions had influenced many of the Second Generation Eternals, especially his younger brothers, Zuras and A'Lars.

This had led to Kronos almost shunning Thor from his people, separating him from A'Lars and Zuras in order to 'spare' them from him his 'heresy'. Their strained relationship was purely one-sided, it was his father who held distaste for him, Thor didn't.

"I don't hate him," Thor told Daina as such. "I pity him. Every day, we saw the humans kidnap, steal, rape and kill one another. The Deviants are doing the same now, that is no different to what the Celestials did to us. I pity all those who cannot see the truth of how we gained our powers."

Daina frowned. "You don't understand, Donar. You don't know what it was like before the Celestials came to us before they gifted power to us. We, the Eternals are their greatest successes and tasked us with ensuring their greatness lives on."

"You're right, I don't know what it was like before. Perhaps that is why I can see the truth where you are blinded." Thor continued, knowing full well that they were repeating an argument that they had many times prior to this. "And if we truly were the Celestials success, why would they allow the Deviants to kill us. In fact, why, if they are so great and powerful, did they allow the Deviants to live?"

Daina said nothing, mouth opening to speak before closing. She shook her head and left then, not saying a word as Thor turned his back also, returning to look upon the destruction he had caused from his training.

'It's not enough, I need to be stronger.' Clenching his fists, Thor moved forwards back to his perch and prepared himself once more.

The war between the Eternals and the Deviants was none of his concern. Only saving the Asgardian people mattered and he would stop at nothing in order to succeed, even if everything around him burned to ashes. Asgard and his people, his family, his sons, his wife, they were all that mattered.

And nothing would stop him from saving them.

"Push forwards!" Astron roared, as he stood upon the corpses of the followers of Kronos. A flag bearing the symbol of Ouranos's followers held in one hand as dozens of Eternals rushed forth, chasing after their retreating enemies.

Victory was theirs once more.

Five years this war had waged, five long years that had seen the Eternals clash in bloody conflict after a bloody conflict. In the beginning, things had been equal, Kronos had many more followers and his power was vast, some say surpassing even the original Eternal, Makkari. Ouranos on the other hand had been following the third mandate set forth by the Celestials, expelling all excess Deviation.

He had been upon the frontlines for many years, hunting any Deviant force that attempted to leave their hold. Unlike Kronos, Ouranos did not possess vast powers, but he possessed experience in war.

He knew how to lead men, how to rally soldiers to his cause and how to win battles.

For the first three years, the two sides had clashed, neither one seemingly gaining an advantage big enough to turn the war in their favour. Ouranos and his forces won victory through superior skill and tactics. Kronos and his forces winning through the power and sheer numbers.

Their victories equalled one another out and despite exchanging territory back and forth, neither side gained an advantage. But then eventually the break came the moment in which everything changed.

Many of the Second Generation Eternals who had long since held reservations about following the orders of the Eternals, eventually withdrew from the war. They took a stance of neutrality and while both sides were affected, none were hit harder more than Kronos. He lost a good portion of his army when the Second Generations left and without overwhelming numbers on his side, Ouranos was able to gain the advantage needed.

Ever since then, it all came toppling down.

Kronos was losing power with every loss he suffered.

Ouranos on the other hand was gaining power with every victory he gained, more and more of the Eternals that had taken the stance of neutrality, turning to him as the new leader. Not out of loyalty, but purely for survival, attaching themselves to the head of the new regime before it became too late.

Victory was theirs, it was only a matter of time now.

Looking upon the woman laid out before him, Thor didn't know how to feel. Part of him was saddened that such a kind and caring woman had been stripped from the world. Another part was angry, the old bloodlust he had suppressed desiring to be quenched.

Yet mostly, he just felt numb.

Daina, wife of Kronos and mother of Donar, Zuras and A'Lars was dead.

Gathered around her corpse, Zuras and A'Lars wept. Behind them, Kronos stormed out of the room, unable to be near the body of his dead Gann Josin. Thor himself was the only one who remained calm, unsure of how to articulate the way he felt.

"Do you feel nothing?" A woman's voice asked, a whisper in his ear. Her breath cold like the winds of Jötunheimr, haunting and sinister, yet also enchanting. It was a voice that had haunted his dreams for many nights, one he remembered vividly.

"Lady Death." He greeted, looking upon his frozen brothers, the world around him completely still, time frozen in place. A showcase of power so simple and yet so terrifying in the reminder of how powerful the woman was. "I did not think you would come all this way to collect a single soul."

"Normally." She replied simply. "But the Eternals worship no God of Death. And I have come here for other reasons."

"And I assume it is something to do with my task?" It was rhetorical, Thor highly doubted that Lady Death of all people came here purely to have a chat. "I have every intention of saving my people, but I need strength first. I have barely recovered even a quarter of the original strength I once possessed. With this little power, I would hardly be of any use to my people."

"That is not why I have come. I have come to ask why you do not save the Eternals?"

Thor looked to her, a brow raised. "Why should I? I have kept my interference with the Eternals as limited as I could to ensure I do not change the future. I distanced myself from Zuras and A'Lars the moment they appeared to follow my example of not believing in the Celestials. I'm allowing the Eternals to do what they would have done in the original war."

"Perhaps you are, but the other you has not taken such an approach. As a result, the war between the Eternals and the future war between them and the Deviants has forever changed." Death explained.

"You brought more of me to the past? Why?"

"I simply split your souls with every following Ragnarök. Where that soul ends up or what it does is of little consequence to me. I simply act based on the future I can see, but I am limited with what I can do. Just as I do not place all my hopes upon you alone, I also do not simply allow the future to play out without any interference from me." Death continued, Thor listening with rapt attention.

"The future of the Eternals and the Deviants is on the verge of shifting completely. The question I ask is, will you do nothing? Will you allow it to happen? Or will you step forth and save the Eternals from their imminent destruction?" Death asked.

"And which choice do you want me to choose?" Thor shot back, frowning after what he had been told. From what he could infer, Ragnarök had once again happened meaning that his future self had not yet saved his people and now the second fragment of himself was back in the past. Unlike him though, this fragment had no trouble making changes with the pre-established history of the universe causing unknown changes to the future.

"It matters little to me." Thor doubted that very much, she wouldn't be here if his decision didn't impact her in some way. "All I'm left wondering is why you allow the Eternals to suffer a fate not so dissimilar to the one your own people endure. Fighting and dying for a cause that will not reward them. The Eternals fight and die in service of the Celestials. You and your people fight in service of Asgard and the search of a glorious death."

Thor frowned angrily, fists clenching down by his side for reasons unknown to him. "The Eternals are not my people. I am not some glorious saviour or hero."

"You are in the body of an Eternal, are you not?" Death rebuked. "You have lived amongst the Eternals, have you not? In your old life, you were Asgardian. But in this life, you are born and lived as an Eternal. Whether your soul is Asgardian or not. Your body is an Eternal, you belong to both people? How can you save one if you cannot save another?"

"Enough!" Thor snapped, rounding upon Lady Death who showed a complete lack of fear or any type of emotion towards his anger. Even as the cosmic energy within him sparked to life in arcs of lightning that flickered all across his body, eyes glowing brightly, Lady Death simply stared upon him with no emotion. "Do not play games with me?! You split my soul for a reason! You came here for a reason! Why is it that you came here? Why is it that you want me to save the Eternals? Surely as Death, you should enjoy this war?"

Death for a moment was silent. "It is true, as Death, I enjoyed the act at one time. But after so many thousands of years. After so many souls collected, I am as disinterested in it as you are towards politics. Just because I am Death, does not mean I crave it. As Death, I have a duty to uphold the natural balance of the world, Life and Death go hand in hand. There can not be too much of one or else the world destabilises. The Eternals must live in order to preserve the delicate balance of the universe."

"You spared my life in order to save my people. And now you ask me to save the Eternals in order to preserve the balance of the universe? Why not simply let me do this alone? Why send other fragments of me across?" Thor implored.

"Because I do not place my faith on you alone. You are but part of a whole. I place the future of the universe on the whole, not the part." Death coldly answered, disappearing from view and the world resuming. The sobbing of Zuras and A'Lars filling the room once more, the raging and destruction being wrought outside by Kronos joining in a symphony.

Yet none of it registered in Thor's mind, the words of Lady Death the only thing filling his thoughts.

What choice did he make?

What choice could he make?

Abandon the Eternals as he had and thrust the entire universe into chaos? That would mean abandoning his people and plunging them into even greater danger and hardship.

Did he confront this other version of himself? Face him in battle and end a threat to his plans before their effect on the universe could become too great? Or did he find a way to ally with said fragment of himself, combining their powers and working together in order to save their people?

It was a possibility.

But at the end of the day, only really two of those options were viable in his mind now that he knew what would await. If he chose the former, he would only be putting his people in greater danger. That meant, either way, he would have to step out of his seclusion and join the Eternals in their battle.

Either way, he would have to save the Eternals, become the hero and figure he had once being when Prince Thor Odinson of Asgard. He would have to be what he was to his people, to the Eternals as well.

'Fuck!' He cursed, clenching his fists in anger, at what Thor couldn't tell. He was just angry and so, he stormed out much as Kronos had. He ignored the damage surrounding the home and pushed off the ground, it exploding beneath his feet as he took to the air, a boom sounding in his wake.

'Fuck!'

It was silent.

All those within the camp said nothing as they slowly stepped out of their tents. Each looking to the sky in shock as they witnessed the freak storm suddenly beginning to form. Powerful winds ripped through the camp, uprooting tents and carrying them away.

No one made an attempt to give chase, each flinching as they saw the flashes of light followed by the loud cracks of thunder. Dark and vast black clouds rolling in and seemingly swirling together.

It was a storm, unlike anything they had witnessed before.

And from the centre of the swirling clouds, a figure shot down. His form nought but a blur as he rushed towards their camp, many tensed but none so much as attempted to intercept this figure.

They could feel the power laid within the storm, the vast amounts of cosmic energy laying within. It was unlike anything they had felt before, beyond even Kronos. Ouranos was amongst those stunned by the power he was laying witness to, even more so when he watched the figure slow his descent, landing feet first upon the ground.

Without even meaning to, people parted around him, Thor walking through the crowd to come to a stop directly before him. "Ouranos." Thor greeted shortly, the man in question struggling for words.

"D-Donar. You've grown strong." Ouranos murmured in shock, struggling to recognise the young child he had remembered mere decades ago from the man who now stood before him. Kronos and he were well into their third century and yet Thor who was not even half a century old possessed more power than either of them. 'Though I do remember he always being gifted with his powers.'

But as the shock began to subside, ambition took hold, a smile growing upon his face. "Did you come to join me, Donar?"

Thor shook his head. "No, I came to put an end to this war." Ouranos frowned, many around him, those had initially supported him shifting in preparation for a fight despite clearly remembering the power Thor had showcased. Though the sudden increase in lightning flashes and cracks of thunder seemed to act almost as a warning. "Don't try it."

"You expect me to simply surrender?" Ouranos questioned. "I have come so close to finally succeeding and then we can finally do what the Celestials asked of us. Bringing an end to the Deviant scourge once and for all! Whether you ally with your father or not means little, I won't stop now when I'm so close!"

"Is that what you believe the Celestials want?" Thor replied. "That they want the extermination of the Deviants?"

"Why else would they abandon the Deviants, forcing them to hide in the caves out of sight. We are their success, they the abominations, the failures. It is our duty to remove that stain from the great legacy!" His proclamation was met with many cheers.

Thor however was undeterred, much like Ouranos. "I would argue how that is not what the Celestials want, but I have learned my lesson. Nothing I say will change your mind. So instead, I will simply ask you this, why if you are fighting to remove the 'stain' of the Deviants are you slaughtering Eternals? Seems to me like you're doing the opposite of what you set out to do."

Ouranos though seemed ready for such a question. "Your father will never allow it. This war between our peoples must exist lest we be fighting each other and the Deviants. If we solve this crisis, we can be united against our enemy."

"Perhaps, but in turn, this war is weakening us and I have no intention of joining with you. Not when your side is responsible for the death of Daina." She was a death Thor thought he could ignore, much like all the others. But seeing her lifeless corpse laid out before him, something within him stirred.

She was a kind woman, loving and caring. Daina was a mother who truly loved her children and family, that was something he could not abide by. If he was going to join the Eternals war, it was not going to be with the side responsible for her death, as irrational as such a decision might be to those much smarter than he. But Thor had never pretended to be smarter than he was, he knew what he was.

Ouranos at the very least seemed understanding of his reasonings. "So either I surrender or we face you upon the battlefield." More than a few turned to look at the sky, Thor at the moment triggering the rain to fall down heavily.

A stark reminder of not only the power but the control Thor possessed over this storm.

"No." Thor intoned, eyes began to glow, electricity arcing off his body. "You will not face me upon the battlefield. Either you surrender now, or I take your head and end this was right now."

There was an instance, a moment in which no one dared moved or even breathe.

Then it all came crashing down in an instant.

All around, destruction and chaos raged freely.

Thousands of grotesque beings rushed across the field, weapons waved in the air and blasts of energy firing up into the air. Some were large and thing, others small and muscular. Others walked on two legs, others on six.

Up above, powerful majestic beings rushed through the sky. Blasts of energy striking and exploding against the ground, all those engulfed within it being reduced to ash. Some flew down and barrelled through the hordes using great strength to send others flying through the air in broken heaps.

And then, breaking through the chaos, a single bolt of lightning smashed into the ground with a concussive force so powerful the ground erupted. Black clouds rushed in overhead and the Eternals shot into the air, flanking the figure of Thor who had just arrived.

Glowing energy gathered around his hand and Thor thrust them forwards. Powerful energy in the form of lighting rushed out, fusing together into one large beam that struck the ground. Thor drug it along and reducing all those who came into contact into nothing. As soon as the energy subsided, Thor and his Eternals allowed the effect of their sudden attack upon the Deviant horde to hit those below them.

"Kill them all," Thor murmured quietly, unheard to the Deviants below.

However, the Eternals heard him clearly, each rocketing to the ground upon his order. Thor meanwhile remained floating in the air, watching the battle coming to an end in a matter of moments.

This was something he was familiar with, war.

It was where he had honed his skills for centuries, where he pushed his powers to the limits in new and imaginative ways. War was where Thor learned his greatest lessons and those experiences enabled him to in the space of a few decades reach a level of power that had previously taken him centuries.

Thor was not a diplomat, he was not a King, but he was a warrior and a leader of armies. He knew how to win a battle whether it be through the strength of arms or through superior tactics.

Fighting in a war so soon was not something he had planned for, but he supposed that expecting everything to go his way was always going to end in disappointment. No plan survived the first contact with the enemy after all. The time that he had wanted to spend in seclusion, training and expanding his powers was now being spent leading a war.

Unlike many, war was not an experience that could help him expand his powers. He knew more about storms than most ever would, he knew how they acted, how they thought, how they felt. They were living things and one simply couldn't just control a storm, one had to direct it, guide it, nurture it.

With that understanding, learning to use his powers became simple.

War would be of no aid to him, but he needed to do this. As Death had told him, if the Eternals died, it would throw the universe out of balance and put his people in greater danger.

That was not something he could allow.

"So, you are the first Eternal, Makkari?" Thor questioned, arms crossed over his chest as he stared at the man across from him. Around the room, Kronos, Zuras, A'Lars and other leading figures of the Eternals forces were gathered.

The newest addition to their ranks being the first of their kind.

"I expected someone stronger." He murmured, his words earning outraged noises throughout. Though by this point it was much more muted, many having grown used to the disrespect Thor showed to many around him. The power he wielded and the fact that he was the only one proving to make any headway during their war against the Deviants ensured that no one made too much fuss.

On the other hand, Makkari reacted completely opposite to how the vast majority had, or how they had expected.

He laughed.

"I imagine in comparison to your father and to you, the power I wield is not all that impressive, Donar," Makkari replied easily, a smirk upon his face. "But alas, you're right, my power has waned massively over the years, a result of my own hubris."

"And what did you do to weaken yourself to such a degree?" Thor asked.

Makkari's smile strained. "Speed has always been my greatest asset. Just as you have tried to push the boundaries over your control of storms. I tried something similar with speed, but in doing so, I crippled myself."

Thor nodded his head in understanding, he had done what Thor had nearly done to himself many times in his old life. He didn't understand speed fully and therefore, had been wandering in the dark as he tried to expand the horizons of his power. Much like Thor had done with the storms, but whereas Thor had Odin and even Freyja to restrain him from pushing too far too soon, Makkari did not have that.

"Understandable." Thor agreed. "However, I wonder why you've come now of all times. You're powerful, but you've also crippled yourself, this is the limit of your strength. As strong as you are, the sheer number of Deviant soldiers is too great. Not to mention that there is Tantalus and his Inner Circle of powerful Deviants. Our numbers are vastly smaller, they also require rest and despite winning numerous victories, it means little."

Many around the room nodded at Thor's words, it was a harsh reality many were being familiar with. Winning victories upon the battlefield was certainly great, but it didn't always mean winning the war as well.

Their numbers were small and while they were being reinforced with thousands of human soldiers rebelling and resisting the Deviant hordes, it was not enough. They needed more and Thor could tell that many had hoped Makkari would prove to be that extra bit they needed to win the war. However, Thor had squandered that hope by revealing Makkari had crippled his power, further enforced by Makkari backing it up.

However, Thor would not allow false hope to lead them.

It was a double-edged sword and at this point, would be more detrimental to them in the long term. "So what are our plans for the future?" Zuras asked. "We can't allow the Deviants to continue pushing through Valusia. If they do, there will be nothing left stood between them and the last remaining stronghold of Atlantis."

Many in the room looked towards Thor for answers. He was the only one to have made any serious headway towards victory, actually halting and pushing back the advance of the Deviants in the south. Mainly those forces entering through the kingdoms of Farsun, Verulia and Kamelia.

Despite his youth, Thor was not only the greatest warrior amongst the Eternals but also their greatest military leader.

"We need soldiers, that's a simple fact of the matter. I have tried to get in contact with Ouranos and his colony, but they are not answering." Thor stated, Kronos, Zuras and A'Lars frowning heavily at the mention of the exiles. "We are on our own and many of the humans are not willing to rebel against the might of the Deviants. So that gives us only one option. We take out their leading figures."

"Tantalus?" Kronos questioned and Thor nodded his head.

"And his Inner Circle. Take out them and remove any power structure within the Deviants and they will fracture. The Deviants will be so busy fighting each other for power that we will be able to easily push them back." Thor explained.

"Does anyone even know the names of his Inner Circle, or what they look like?" A'Lars asked a question the earned many murmurs of agreements.

Tantalus' Inner Circle was something he had kept secret. They had met many imposters posing as Inner Circle members, but that was purely a decoy. The actual members of the Inner Circle were unknown to any of them.

"I know of them," Makkari spoke up, all turning to him. "There are his sons, Pelops and Lucian. The former ruler of the Deviants, Phraug. Tantalus' elite soldiers, the Peacekeepers, Wraath, Toxin Lady Trident and Bristle. But I think the most worrying besides Tantalus is the very Deviant that was endorsed by Tantalus as the future of Deviant kind, Vingthor."

As the council erupted into conversation, Thor meanwhile fell silent as he heard the last name being muttered.

Vingthor, meaning the thunder hurler.

That was a name he had once possessed. 'Does that mean this Vingthor is the other me present in this day? Is he the one pushing from the north and the one bringing about the imbalance of the universe?'

The war over the next few years developed to a whole new level of conflict. Thor who had focused his attention to the south of Valusia swung north, replacing his brothers, Zuras and A'Lars.

The Deviant forces that had come through Zarfhaana had been making rapid progress. Thor however managed to lead the alliance of Eternals and humans to a number of key victories that slowed the Deviants progress dramatically. Relieving some of the pressure that had befallen their entire war effort.

However, the success he managed to create down in the south of Valusia was not being replicated in the north. The Commander of the Deviant forces there was skilled, that was plain to see to all those watching that area.

Arguably just as skilled as Thor despite not having made an appearance.

But to Thor, this was only further proof to him that this Vingthor was the second fragment of his soul. The tactics he employed during the battles were those favoured by Asgardians. Tactics that while not uncommon elsewhere, had been developed and evolved by centuries of Asgardian discipline.

Thor recognised them instantly.

"You're certain that Tantalus and his elites will come?" Kronos asked, coming to a stop beside him, behind them Makkari, Zuras and A'Lars formed up. "It seems like we're banking everything on the possibility that Tantalus will throw everything at you."

"He'll come," Thor stated firmly, more than confident in his decision. He may not have been the tactician that Tyr was, but there weren't many like him in the first place. Not even Odin could match the strategical mind of Tyr, a feat that not many could claim.

Above all else, the tactics being employed by Vingthor were the same tactics he too had favoured. A number of smaller skirmishes all leading up to a final charge to kill the enemy Commander. It was a favoured tactic of his, one that he had used to devastating effect in numerous wars.

A simple plan that due to his great strength resulted in victory more often than not.

It was one being used against him now, an odd feeling for sure. 'But there's something a little different to how I would usually use it.' Thor thought to himself, arms crossed over his chest. It was more prolonged, he would have not spent years probing these strikes and would have spent at most a few weeks. This Vingthor may be him, but they weren't exactly the same it appeared.

"How can you be sure? The Deviants have been focusing a great deal of their forces towards the south of Valusia. Without us there it will certainly fall and then we'll be trapped." A'Lars pressed.

"It's precisely because they're doing that," Thor answered. "By sending the vast majority of their troops to the south, it forces us to do the same. Thus weakening our northern front and leaving me exposed and alone. Just trust me, Tantalus will come here, just wait a little longer."

Though as Thor said that, part of him wondered about the differences within his other counterpart. The fact that he had allowed the war to last this young without using such a tactic in the beginning and even then, using a large number of probing attacks was more similar to his brother Baldur than himself.

Though the endgame was all him, this counterpart was still slightly different to how he had been.

'Did the splitting of me from the majority cause a change to appear? I suppose it would make sense in a way.'He wondered, gaze looking upon the horizon and slowly, over the distance movement could be seen.

"He's here," Makkari spoke up, sensing the presence of his longtime foe, Tantalus amongst the approaching Deviants.

"You were right," Zuras noted and Thor said nothing.

Even if this other Thor wasn't entirely the same as him, some things could never be fully changed. "Allow Oceanus to deal with the Deviant forces, I will face Tantalus, the rest of you deal with his Inner Circle. This war ends today."

Nods were shared all around.

A powerful blast of light rushed forwards, smashing into the muscular, yellow-skinned man. It drove him into the ground, throwing him back as Thor rushed through the air after him.

It had happened so suddenly that the Deviants didn't even have a moment to react as their leader, Tantalus was attacked. However, there was one who recovered incredibly quickly, a large red-furred figure that burst from the ground with explosive force. Kronos though was there, grabbing hold of the figure's wrist and slamming a fist of his own into their face.

Yet to his shock, the figure didn't go flying.

Instead, the furred figure went with momentum, freehand gripping into his neck and with a shout, threw Kronos to the ground. It erupting upwards in a small mushroom cloud, that threw the approaching figures on both the Eternals and Deviants sides away.

Landing, the furred figure stalked towards Kronos who pushed himself to his knees, head shaking. 'This is the strength of the Deviant, Vingthor?' Kronos thought in wonderment and a slight bit of nervousness. 'I had thought Makkari had exaggerated his strength. Physically, he's stronger than even Donar.'

Meanwhile, Zuras rushed forwards, gripping hold of a flying boulder and slamming it into the recovering Phraug. It threw him back, Zuras following it up with a powerful beam of energy.

The Peacekeepers, Pelops and Lucian upon seeing their leader and father in peril, rushed forwards only for a blur to suddenly appear between them all. Makkari's form was nothing more than a blur as he lashed out with numerous kicks to the bodies of Pelops and Lucian.

They grunted out, thrown back while Makkari chased after them, much like Thor, not giving them a chance to recover.

The Peacekeepers, Wraath, Toxin, Lady Trident and Bristle all looked towards the final figure that stood before them. Unlike the rest of his kind, A'Lars was not muscular nor did he look imposing. He was the opposite, tall, thin and lanky with long-flowing hair. Arms clasped behind his back as the Deviants looked towards one another.

Then they rushed forwards, Toxin cutting open a part of his palm and allowing his black blood to flow freely. Wiping it out, Toxin threw as much of his blood as he could towards A'Lars only for a barrier to appear.

Without so much as a twitch, A'Lars manipulated the shield he had summoned to simultaneously form a bubble around the blood. It also shot out, exploding upon impact with Toxin and for a moment there was a blinding light. Then from it, the smoked and charred figure of Toxin dropped to the ground.

'Hmm, I had expected them to be stronger considering they are the elites of the Deviants. But it seems that compared to Tantalus and Vingthor, these Peacekeepers and even Phraug are hardly anything to worry about.' A'Lars thought, another blast of energy shooting out, striking against Wraath who at least managed to survive. However, the sharp arc of cosmic energy, lined with the blood from Toxin proved too much for either of the remaining three.

Shallow cuts lining them all and the toxin within the blood eating away at them from the inside.

"A'Lars, let's help father!" Zuras called, bounding across the area in a few tries before shooting off into the air directly towards where Kronos was engaged in the battle against Vingthor. To his shock, Kronos was being heavily pressured by Vingthor.

Saying nothing, A'Lars shot through the air, heading to join his brother in aiding their father.

Growling, Tantalus rose to his feet, watching as Thor descended towards him calmly and elegantly. He was one of the first Deviants ever created by the Celestials and was the first Deviant to conquer his planet by eliminating and enslaving all non-Deviant species upon Arqa.

Anyone who had gotten his way was killed and since then, Tantalus had spent his time influencing those around him to do the same. Such as the Skrulls and the Kree, he made sure that all Deviants eliminated the Eternals.

Yet against all the Eternals he had faced, there was no one who had caused him as much pain as Thor had. That singular bolt of cosmic energy was beyond anything he had felt before and he had faced many powerful Eternals before. Even the strongest of the Eternals on Earth, Makkari and Kronos were nowhere near as strong as some of the Eternals he had faced.

They were powerful, but not overwhelmingly so.

Thor on the other hand was a very different matter and Tantalus felt his lips curl. He did not like this unexpected outcome at all. 'Earth is filled with many interesting individuals.' The Deviant, Vingthor was perhaps the greatest find amongst the Deviants he had come across and recruited to his cause. The physical power he possessed was beyond anything Tantalus had encountered before.

Unfortunately, it seemed that the Eternals had a similar individual amongst their midsts. 'Then I'll kill him and end this threat once and for all.' He snarled, thrust his hand forwards and releasing a wave of black fog towards Thor.

The man in question, shot into the air, avoiding the fog and firing numerous more bolts of lighting towards Tantalus who this time was prepared. With lips curled into an ugly snarl, he swiped his hands out and smacked the bolts to one side. Then he leapt forwards, fog gathering around his hands only for a powerful shield to appear in his way.

Tantalus wasn't in the least bit worried, he had faced similar tactics from other Eternals in his time hunting and slaughtering them. He had improved his unique skill he called Black Legacy.

Smashing his fist into the barrier, Tantalus shattered it completely and continued on, a wave of fog rushing for Thor once more. However, by slapping his hands together, the Eternal released a powerful gust of wind that sent the Black Legacy rushing back towards Tantalus.

It didn't bother him, Tantalus was immune to the effects of his own power and continued to close in upon Thor. A deadly game of cat and mouse taking shape, Tantalus trying to close the distance and leverage his superior physical strength to gain the advantage. He also tried to use his Black Legacy, either in close combat or from a distance to take Thor out.

As for Thor himself, he used his ability of flight while peppering Tantalus with bolts of lightning. Meanwhile, he made liberal use of the wind around him to keep the fog of Black Legacy away from him.

It seemed to be even and was, until in an instance of inattentiveness from Tantalus, Makkari arrived. Having broken away from Tantalus' sons, Pelops and Lucian, Makkari closed in upon the leader of the Deviants. In his hands, the spear of Lucian, the Shadowlance pierced through Tantalus' chest with ease.

Forged from an unknown metal and combined with the momentum that Makkari created, it cut through him with ease. As soon as it did, Makkari channelled every ounce of his Cosmic energy into a powerful beam of energy that exploded outwards.

On top of that, Thor released his own energy.

Having seen Makkari approach, Thor came to a stop, vast amounts of cosmic energy gathering around his hands. With a shout, he released it all in a concentrated blast upon Tantalus and Makkari.

The ground erupted, a blinding light exploding out across the planet.

Tantalus' death had a massive impact on the direction of the war. The death of many of his elites only compounded that impact making it much more profound. Since then, the Eternals along with the revitalised human race pushed against the Deviants.

First Valusia was secured.

Then the smaller kingdoms of Farsun and Verulia to the south were secured next. Kamelia and then Thurania in the centre of the Thurian continent were freed soon after. By that point, however, the Deviants were too busy fighting one another for power that they had over the remaining kingdoms of Lemuria, Zarfhaana, Commoria and Grondarr. For that reason, Thor had convinced the Eternals to withdraw from the war and allow the Deviants to continue fighting one another.

Bu t doing so, they would be weakening themselves and in the meantime, the Eternals could take this time to recover and recoup their losses. The civil war and then the war against the Deviants had cost the Eternals greatly, their numbers had dwindled.

Thor estimated that without Tantula or his Peacekeepers to support Pelops or Lucian, the Deviants would continue to fight one another for many years to come. Possibly even decades if they were lucky. The fact that Vingthor after his battle against Kronos, Zuras and A'Lars had been severely injured to the point of not being seen or heard from since showed that the unification of the Deviants was highly unlikely for a long period of time.

That was good news for all, even Thor was pleased.

He doubted Vingthor was dead, they may have slight differences in character, but they were both too stubborn to die that easily. However, he was out of action for some time, which was good for Thor because he didn't really want to have to try and rectify his counterparts mistakes again.

'What I need to do right now is find out where he is.' Thor thought to himself with a frown. 'If I can do that, I can put an end to all the problems we've been having by beating some sense into him. And if that doesn't work, kill him.'

As Thor finished his mourning training, he went to make his way back into the cave he had called home for many years. It was a natural formation, though he had hollowed it out many times in order to make it more accommodating. Other than that though, it hardly looked fit for living but Thor didn't care about comfort.

He didn't spend much time in there and when he did, he was so exhausted he would fall asleep without a care in the world. Practically all his time, Thor spent outside training and improving himself further, reaching new heights.

But in that instance, as Thor was about to enter, he suddenly came to a stop. All around the planet, those capable of sensing the comics energies copied him, eyes widening slowly as their hairs stood on end. Rapidly back-pedalling, Thor turned to look out over the landscape to see a large ship breaking through the planet's atmosphere.

"Why are they here?"

Kronos watched with a smile upon his face as he watched the Celestials arrive towards their home. Finally, their Gods would return to them and end the Deviant scourge that had afflicted their planet for centuries. They had answered his prayers after so many years of silence.

But in that instance, something truly shocking happened, a beam of energy so powerful that it seemed to momentarily block out the sun shot through the air and smashed directly into the ship. It exploded, careening down to the ground with smoke billowing out from the back of it. There was an instance in which all Eternals who had gathered to watch the Celestials returning to them suddenly felt a lump form in their throats.

And then, in the distance, a figure rose up, towering above all the mountains of the world. A figure clad in brilliant golden armour. Then more rose up, a whole group of them numbering over a dozen.

Everything was still, the Eternals, the Deviants and all of humanity watching these towering beings seemingly stare at one another, or at one in particular. The one in radiant golden armour who suddenly erupted with a powerful beam of energy so large it shone across the cosmos. Yet, the Celestials it fired upon did nothing and instead combined their energies to deflect the beam away.

It cut through the air, not even touching the ground yet causing it to erupt outwards. Just the sheer force of it caused mass destruction on a scale never before seen. Then it struck with titanic force, the entirety of Earth-shaking violently, a blinding ball of light engulfing a vast portion of the continent and destroying it all.

That area had been the Valusia Kingdom, all of its inhabitants gone in an instant.

"What's happening?!" People cried out in shock.

Horror set in, this was their Gods, the beings they had worshipped and they were battling one another. But not only that, they were destroying the world around them without a care in the world.

Why where are they doing this?

The Celestials were fighting one another.

There was only one recorded instance of this ever, one that his father had told him about. It was why nearly all beings in the universe feared the Celestials, their power was beyond imagining.

A clash between Celestials was something none had heard or seen, but it was also one that people knew would be catastrophic. But what many didn't know was that the Celestials at one point in time had clashed. The reasons behind why were unclear to many, only that one amongst their number, Tiamut the Communicator, one of the greatest amongst their kind had gone rogue.

As a result, Arishem the Judge, a leading figure in the Celestials presence on Midgard had defeated the traitor. Thor had not witnessed the battle personally, but Odin had and he had told the story to him as a child.

Thor had never thought he would witness such a battle, but he was shocked by the brutality and savagery with which they fought. He had thought that by looking at them, they would be elegant and poised in the way they fought. Yet what he was seeing was a direct contrast to that, it was almost like watching a group of bandits gang up on someone.

In the process though, they were destroying everything around them.

"You are Thor Odinson, aren't you?" Turning, Thor looked to see Vingthor stood there, body hunched over in pain, deep scars in his red matted fur clearly seen. Silently, he nodded his head and despite being unable to see, Thor knew Vingthor was smiling beneath his fur. "I knew it."

"And you are too." It wasn't a question, but a statement of fact. "We're both Thor Odinson, fighting to save our people."

He had other questions, the current situation however didn't leave much time for a proper conversation. "You can feel it, can't you? The connection we share." Vingthor continued. "Divided, we can't do anything, but together we might be able to do something to stop them."

Thor looked to the battling Celestials and then towards the hand Vingthor extended towards him. "Just one question. Why?"

"I'm Thor Odinson, Prince of Asgard. But I'm also Vingthor, a Deviant." He said without a single moment of hesitation, proof that despite their similarities, there were also differences. He was eager and happy to aid the Deviants who he seemed to have embraced as his own, just like the Aesir. But Thor, he still didn't feel like one of the Eternals, he was an Aesir through and through.

"Okay." But Thor had his answer and he already had an idea of what Vingthor was hinting at. A feeling in the back of his mind, instincts telling him to take the hand of his counterpart.

And like always, he trusted his instincts, reaching out and taking the hand.

As Arishem gathered the power in his hands, ready to bring it down upon Tiamat, the Celestials around him turning their attentions to the Deviants, he felt his satisfaction grow. All this time he had spent, targeting only the Deviants for harvest due to their superior numbers, all to gain the favour of their master, the Fulcrum.

Only for a single Celestial, Tiamut the Communicator to attempt to intervene with his plan.

Luckily for him, he had already convinced all the Celestials apart of the Host on Earth to follow through with his plan. Each of them was eager to prove themselves and gain the favour of Fulcrum as he was.

Then a ball of glowing energy rivalling the size of a small moon appeared in the sky. Powerful bolts of lightning erupting out of it and striking each and every one of the Celestials in quick succession. All the unnamed were thrown back in a single instance, a surprising feat for sure considering even the weakest of their kind was beyond even the most powerful of Gods in the universe.

Yet this figure had knocked them back without much trouble.

Even the named, such as himself were not left unmarked by the bolt of lightning, slight scorch adorning his armour. As the other named Celestials turned to the figure, Thor floated within the air, his red hair long and flowing in the wind. A bushy red beard lining his face as his blue eyes glowed with unrestrained power.

Above him, a storm of unimaginable proportions began to grow.

A cosmic storm.

To begin with, these chapters will be purely origin stories and they will be a single chapter only. Mostly establishing who they are and whereabouts they get to a bit before getting to the main Thor's storyline. The length of these early chapters will be hugely dependent on how much info there is in the established comic lore, so for the Eternals there's quite a bit. But not as much on others in certain time periods. Because I don't want to also spend a huge amount of time on loads of different origin stories, it'll be short and decisive chapters that cut straight to the point.

I want to get back to the main Thor storyline as quickly as possible so while these early chapters may be a little lacklustre to read (I hope you enjoy them all the same), their purpose is to go over their origins as quickly as possible, without missing anything important.

Before I forget, here's a basic outline of Eternal Thor's info:
