Summary: How Natsu and Lucy met in the OVA2 'verse.

Pairings: ImpliedNatsu/Lucy, some Erza/Lucy friendship, and some Gray/Lucy friendship.

YouTube Prompt: A tribute to Fairy Tail in general to Livin' on a Prayer by Bon Jovi.

It was Lucy's first day at Fairy Academy, and she was very nervous.

For a couple reasons, not just the usual new girl stuff (will she be liked? What if she never makes friends? What if she does something embarrassing and have to transfer again before the day is out?), but actual personal reasons. She had transferred out of a posh, all girl's school, without telling her father. It wasn't like he was going to notice, he barely looked at that bank account allowing Lucy to manage it as 'experience for when you take over the business', she had yet to tell him that she has no intention of taking over the business but that was an entirely different story, and he never read her school letters or reports, she should know it's Capricorn, her butler, that dealt with the parental side with things. So yes, she was nervous her father would find out, turn up, and drag her back to her old school by the ear. And she was also nervous that everyone will find out about her home life and previous education here.

I don't want to be the rich girl anymore! She thought to herself. I'm tired to everyone sucking up to me, of not really being my friend, and -

SPLASH!

Lucy shrieked as a bucket of water was tipped over her head. The water was freezing and completely drenched her from the top of her head to just below her breasts. She could feel the cold water trickling down the back of her neck and her blouse sticking to her breasts revealing her bra to the world (of course today would be the day she was wearing that light blue, lace, bra, wouldn't it?). She flushed, humiliated, as the male members of her new class crowed in delight. Her eyes fell onto a pink-haired boy wearing a scarf, he was laughing the loudest, and considering the smirk he wore, she had no doubt he was the culprit behind this mean trick.

She did the only thing any girl in her situation would do. Wrap one arm round her breasts in order to salvage what was left of her virtue, and then slap the prick that did this to her. "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!" she screamed at him as he rubbed his face lightly.

Much to her indignation, her slap did very little harm to him as he grinned at her. "It's funny!" he defended himself childishly. "Everyone knows that trick. Only an idiot would fall for it."

"Only an idiot would do such a thing!" Lucy retorted back.

"It was for that ice bastard, not you," the boy snarled in retaliation. He looked at her as if she was the most stupid thing in the world. She had an urge to slap him again but it was pointless. And it really wouldn't help her make a good impression on her teacher. Whenever he could be asked coming in. "you should have looked. Jeeze didn't your mother ever teach you to look."

Lucy bit back the words that her mother was dead. It wasn't worth getting upset and hurt about. It was none of this prick's business about her family life anyway. Before she could retaliate with something witty, sharp, and be able to shut this arsehole up, a very naked boy decided to speak up.

"Funny how he sets these traps up for someone he considers an idiot, and yet I've never fallen for it," the naked guy said rather arrogantly. So he was the reason she was soaked? She'll be having words with this git as well! "I think you need to work on your definition of an idiot. You moronic pile of ash."

"What did you just say?!" the pink haired boy roared.

"You heard me!"

"You're an idiot too!" the pink-haired boy shouted, much like a toddler throwing a tantrum. He waved a hand at Lucy. "Just like this blond bimbo!"

"WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME?!"

"Well it's true!" the boy defended himself against Lucy's shrieks. "You…hang on who the hell are you?!"

Lucy lost her temper completely at that. She was already pissed off with this prick playing a joke on her, telling her off for being stupid, and being insensitive in general, and now it turns out he had no idea who she was! The nerve of him insulting someone he doesn't even have a faint clue about.

"LUCY KICK!"

She watched in horror as the boy sailed across the classroom and right out of the window leaving a boy shaped hole in the glass. "Oh no!" she gasped horrified with herself.

The naked guy burst out into hysterical laughter. "That was awesome," he patted her on the back. "Congrats, only Erza can hit that hard."

"IT WAS MANLY!" a large white-haired boy roared.

"New girl is cool," a pretty brunette said, "I wanna take her out for a drink."

Lucy suddenly found herself surrounded by her classmates as they congratulated her for being so awesome. Lucy found it rather overwhelming. She had just arrived, been attacked, insulted, and accidentally kicked a guy out of the window, and now she was being swarmed. Well she was until a redhead appeared and they all disappeared.

"Ah!" a red-headed girl in glasses said upon seeing Lucy. "There you are! I've been searching for you all morning. My apologies Heartfilla-san, I have abandoned my duty to guide you through the school on your very first day. Please hit me in retribution."

"No thank you!" Lucy squeaked. "I mean I got here, didn't I? You didn't do anything wrong."

"Yeah, Erza," the naked guy said, "don't scare the girl."

"Gray! Clothes!"

"Crap!"

The naked guy, Gray, went hunting for his clothes, and the redhead, Erza, began to introduce Lucy to the rest of her classmates. She was in the middle of shaking hands with Mirajane Strauss when the pink-haired boy burst back into the classroom, out of breath, and twigs stuck in his hair. It appeared a tree or a bush had saved him.

"YOU!" the boy pointed at her furiously. "I'M GOING TO MAKE YOU P-AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

He then dived at Lucy, probably to throttle her or something, when Erza punched him right in the stomach causing him to scream….like a girl.

"Natsu," Erza growled. "Are you threatening the new girl? Do you have any idea what sort of impression you are making? You are representing this school and now you have blemished its reputation. You shall be punished!"

She then picked him and threw him across the room. Once again this Natsu goes flying through the window. Only this time he goes through the other unbroken one leaving another boy shaped hole in another window.

Lucy stared at the window gobsmacked, and a little relieved that she wasn't the only one that had broken a window. Gray noticed and seemed to be able to read her facial expression. "Yeah," he said sheepishly. "We go over budget every year because of window repair costs."

What sort of school has Lucy gotten herself into?!

(Much later when Natsu finally crawls back into the classroom, Lucy helps him up, offers him some first aid, a hesitant smile, and some food to make up for him being thrown out of the window twice, and suddenly, somehow, she ends up stuck with him for life…..he still keeps tipping buckets of water over her head though.)
