YouTube Prompt: A Lyon/Juvia/Gray video to 'Jesse's Girl'…because c'mon, it suits them whichever one you actually ship Juvia with.

Wendy had been trying to fall asleep for the last two hours.

It was an incredibly difficult task for several reasons. The first being that she had spent the whole day asleep already having been drained of her magic and left in need of medical attention not two days ago. Therefore she was more restless than sleepy. Then, of course, the fact that she had been injured before the Games started and left her team in the lurch, had given her a guilty conscious that won't let her rest. All she could think was how she had cruelly abandoned her team because she had been too stupid to take someone with her when she went to see the palace's gardens.

And finally, the last few reasons, had names. Names like Natsu, Happy, Gray, Lucy, Erza, and Elfman, her roommates. Yes, she, a young girl about to blossom into womanhood, was expected to share a room with three men. If it wasn't for the fact they were all too honourable (Charle snorted when Wendy had said this), she would fear for her virtue. But sadly she had to fear whether or not she would ever get to sleep because as honourable as they were, her roommates were noisy. Yes, even Lucy and Erza.

But mainly Natsu and Gray, who weren't really behaving very honourable right now ("I knew they were scoundrels! Charle sniffed haughtily in Wendy's ear,) as they were fighting over sleeping in Lucy's bed.

Wendy's not sure why but Gray decided he wanted to sleep on Lucy's bed. Not in it with her, but just on the bottom, across her legs, which was actually how he slept on some missions when they've been forced to share a room. Natsu, who was already in Lucy's bed for reasons unknown, reacted to this invasion of, what he considers, his territory by kicking Gray off. Gray went flying and landed, with a bang, against Wendy's bed, waking Erza and Lucy up, and definitely keeping Wendy and Charle awake.

"Natsu, you selfish bastard!" Gray roared furiously. "I want to sleep in Lucy's bed!"

"What if I don't want you to sleep in my bed?!" Lucy fumed.

"Bugger off!" Natsu snarled. "I got here first!"

"And I definitely don't want you in my bed either!"

"If you two fucking perverts are trying to cop a feel" Erza growled as she cracked her knuckles, Wendy couldn't help but whimper, curl up in a tighter ball under the covers, and clutch Charle for comfort. "While a child is in the room, I might add, then maybe I should sleep in Lucy's bed to protect her virtue."

"I don't want to share my bed with you either!" Lucy wailed. "Can't I just go to sleep guys?!"

"Yeah," Happy moaned sleepily. "I was having a nice dream about fish when you all woke me up."

"WHY ARE YOU IN MY BED AS WELL?!"

"Honestly," Charle groused in Wendy's ear, "you would think they would have learnt some decency over the years."

Terrified that she might get crushed in the fight that broke out between Natsu and Gray (they were literally wrestling in the middle of the hotel room), and determined to get some sleep because she was definitely not going to get any in this room, Wendy retreated to the bathroom where she planned to sleep on some towels in the bath tub. Charle followed for obvious reasons while she muttered some rather unflattering comments about their teammates.

The door was unlocked but unfortunately that did not mean the bathroom was unoccupied. Due to his silence, her desperation to sleep, and the fact the others took everyone's attention, Wendy had forgotten that Elfman was sharing the room with them as well.

So when she opened the bathroom door she was instantly greeted by a gigantic, muscly, man, in the tiniest, fluffiest, pink dressing gown while wearing some sort of green gloop on his face that made him look like a monster.

Wendy and Charle screamed at the sight. And, of course, this caused the rest of her teammates to burst into the bathroom, a fireball at the ready in Natsu's hands, Happy's little paws were balled up into fists, Gray's hands glowing the pure white glow of his magic, Erza wielding one of her more terrifying looking swords, and Lucy holding up Taurus' key at the ready. They all took one look at Elfman and instantly the situation defused.

Well sort of.

Natsu, Happy and Erza were apparently aware of this and simply put away their weapons of choice. Lucy, however, was just as horrified as Wendy had been, and screamed before she clutched Natsu. And Gray shuddered in disgust.

"What the hell, dude?" he yelled. "Seriously, what the hell?!"

"What?" Elfman blinked obliviously. "Face packs are manly!"

It is needless to say, that after such a horrific mental image being imprinted into Wendy and Charle's mind, that neither of them got any sleep that night.

"Oh dear," Lisanna giggled, "I had forgotten that we introduced Elfman to those face packs."

It was late evening the next day and Wendy was exhausted. She had almost fallen asleep three times today and had been shaken awake by concerned members of her guild this third time she had almost fallen asleep on the bar when Mirajane and Lisanna found her and began to question her with sisterly concern.

"Yes," Mirajane agreed, "I've been regretting that since he started to steal my own. I suppose it was a bit of a shock for you, Wendy? Last time someone in the guild saw him in one of those masks they almost had a heart attack."

"Laxus never came for tea ever again."

"Lisanna!"

Wendy was unable to contain a yawn as Lisanna teased her older sister. Charle was already asleep, the lucky cat, as all she had to do was find a comfortable spot on Wendy and no one would feel the need to question her. After all she was a cat. They slept all the time.

"Oh dear!" Mirajane cooed worriedly. "You do look very tired."

"I don't know what to do," Wendy confessed tearfully, "I can't go back to the room just yet. Natsu and Lucy have a friend over, someone from Sabertooth, and I know if I wait everyone will turn up and be noisy again, and I will never go asleep!"

Wendy is not ashamed to admit that she finished that with tears running down her cheeks. She was so tired it was ridiculous! Fortunately though Mirajane was the loveliest person in the world as she pulled Wendy into a comforting hug and said some magical words;

"Well stay with us instead then."

And that was how Wendy ended up tucked up in Mirajane's bed in Fairy Tail Team B's room. She soon began to regret agreeing to this as she quickly discovered no one in Fairy Tail Team B were as quiet as they pretended.

Juvia was sobbing over the fact she wasn't allowed to share a room with Gray, Laxus was snarling at her at every fifth sob, Mira was loudly pondering on who would make a good couple (which sent Juvia into a fresh set of tears whenever Mira considered Gray with anyone else), and Gajeel was playing the guitar while singing….terribly…..really, really, badly. Wendy's eardrums were bleeding.

Lily was the only quiet one and he was sitting in front of Gajeel, listening to him sing, and seemingly enjoying it. "How can you enjoy such torture?" Charle whispered. She grimaced as Gajeel hit a painfully high note and sounded like her mother being strangled.

"Pardon?" Lily asked. Charle frowned as she noticed something was stuffed in the older Exceed's ears. "I think Gajeel's music is fantastic," he said loudly, and very falsely.

Gajeel beamed and Wendy will swear later that she saw tears in his eyes. "Did ya hear that? My cat thinks my music is awesome!" he boomed.

Charle decided to keep quiet about the ear plugs she saw in Lily's ears. After all she understood better than anyone about making Dragon Slayers happy. After all she endured everyone's stupidity to ensure Wendy smiled every day.

Everything quietened down a little bit (apart from Gajeel still strumming on his guitar as he struggled to find something that rhymed with 'Levy') until two things happened simultaneously. First, Jellal crashed through the window making Mirajane and Wendy jump and scream, and secondly, Cana burst in through the door roaring drunk.

"I apologise," Jellal mumbled, "I had a meeting with Erza, and-"

"Ara! Ara!" Mira cooed. "Were you two having a romantic getaway under the moonlight while the flowers were blooming and she bewitched your senses with her beauty?"

"…No," Jellal blinked.

"Christ, woman," Laxus grumbled, "that's the last time I buy you a romance novel."

"Ne, ne," Cana clutched the bed, "pay attention, you'll never guess what, I drank the inn dry!"

"Gramps will be so pleased to hear that," Laxus muttered sarcastically, "OI!" He barked suddenly. "KEEP YOUR CLOTHES ON YOU DRUNKEN WENCH!"

"Oh you're no fun," Cana pouted.

"It could be worse," Gajeel smirked, "it could be that skinny ice bastard. Gihihi."

Juvia went from tearful wreck to a hurricane of fury as she attacked Gajeel with her water nebula. "Don't insult my Gray-sama!" she screeched, her eyes glowing red beneath her fringe.

"EEK!" Gajeel screamed in a very manly way (not). "NOT MY GUITAR YOU CRAZY RAIN WOMAN!"

Gajeel valiantly tried to save his guitar by jumping out of the way, but he ended up losing his footing, and accidentally hitting Laxus over the head with it. Laxus responded to this violent attack with a few choice swear words, a lightning attack, and a swift punch in the gut. Of course Gajeel couldn't take this lying down and began to fight back. Unfortunately for Jellal, the boys suddenly pulled him into the brawl as well.

"Ara! Ara!"

"Woo hoo!" Cana cheered drunkenly. "C'mon boys, shirts off!

"Unbelievable," Charle muttered disgustedly, "this lot is even more immature than the cretins in the room before."

Wendy merely whimpered as she realised this was another night's sleep lost to her, forever.

Unable to find anywhere to sleep, Wendy collapsed against the wall in the hallway, and wept pathetically out of exhaustion. She hated feeling this tired. She hated how she yearned so much to curl up with Charle and fall into a deep, dark, sleep and hopefully never wake up again, she was that fucking tired, but nooooooooooooooooooo that was too much to ask for. She was doomed to being tired, and sleepy, and being in sheer agony as her eyes stung, her body ached, and no one seemed to care about how she felt.

She couldn't help but sob a little, and before she knew it, she was crying, publicly, while Charle patted her back and murmured nonsensical comforting words.

"Wendy?"

Wendy jumped at the sound and a hand on her shoulder from a human male. She looked up to see the only Fairy Tail mage close to her age.

"Oh!" She hiccupped pathetically. "Hello Romeo."

"What are you doing out here?" Romeo asked in concern. He looked down at her rather worriedly and Wendy was feeling more pathetic by the minute.

Wendy shrugged. She really didn't want to go into detail about her nightmarish ordeal over the last few days. It was embarrassing enough that she was crying over it by herself. There's no need to invite viewers. "Why are you out here?" she asked instead.

"Getting a drink," Romeo shrugged. "There's a vendor just down the hall…do you want one?"

"Erm…sure."

Charle followed silently but when Wendy looked back she could see the white cat was certainly thinking something rather snarky as she glowered at Romeo's back. She stopped when she realised Wendy was looking though. Soon enough Wendy, Charle, and Romeo shared a refreshing cold water which brought Wendy's spirits back enough to confess about her horrible experiences with sharing a room with both Fairy Tail Team A and Team B.

Romeo listened to her with a deep serious expression, and the moment she had finished, he took her hand, and dragged her down the hallway. "Come on," he ordered.

"Where are we going?" Wendy asked.

"My room."

"EH?!" Wendy and Charle screeched in unison. "What are you thinking of doing to my charge, you perverted boy?!" Charle added in a furious hiss.

"Not like that!" Romeo yelped, his cheeks flushed a bright pink. "I just meant….I thought….there's a spare bed and it's very quiet. I thought you would like to get some sleep."

"What about your roommates?" Wendy asked hesitatingly. "Wouldn't they care if I intruded on them?"

"The Connells won't mind," Romeo shrugged.

"You're not sharing with your Dad?"

"I'm not sure if my Dad even has a room," Romeo confessed in a deadpan voice. A dark aura of shame surrounded him. "He hasn't left the bar unless it's to watch the game."

"Oh," Wendy sweat-dropped.

"Typical," Charle muttered.

Romeo shrugged and said nothing as they made their way back to his room. Alzack, Bisca, and Asuka were already fast asleep. Asuka snuffling as she snuggled deeply into the bedcovers and hugged her toy gun to her chest while her parents cuddled one another contently. Wendy smiled warmly at them. That was exactly what she wanted one day for herself.

"Here you go," Romeo whispered to her as he showed her the spare bed, "Good night. I hope you sleep well tonight Wendy."

Wendy did, and it was in fact the best night of sleep she had in weeks. And whether or not that as due to the many dreams of a certain, handsome, purple-haired, fire mage…..well it was none of your business was it?
