BOLD - Issei Speaking
Chapter 9 - Ideal and The Fake
"Ray… I have to go now." Issei murmured under his breath but spoke loudly enough that Raynare could hear him. Raynare's mind nearly exploded as she thought 'A barrier like this is above my level, how did this guy do that with such ease? Who is he?'
Her legs shook a little bit. "Issei… please. Calm down. Please. Just come with me. We can be together. Ok?" Raynare softly questioned, praying for a response. She couldn't maintain a straight sentence. Sure, she was worried about Issei, but something scared her more. The pressure he exerted. It was filled with so much hate. So much killing intent. He was about to let loose and destroy everything.
"Please forgive me. I recommend you leave if you wish to live. You saved my own life, so it's fitting I warn you this much." Issei murmured with a lifeless, yet serious and pressing tone.
Issei decided, it was time to let loose. No matter the consequence. "I'm sorry... Ray." Issei apologetically murmured one final time. A few seconds passed. Raynare expected to be blown up, but nothing happened.
Issei's hair was ragged over his eyes. He could barely see, but his instincts made up for it. Issei was still clad in the deep maroon uniform and brown skinny jeans he received from Raynare. The street was dark, only with a few scattered streetlights along with the moonlight illuminating the streets.
"Issei. I'm not going to leave you. I know how much your parents meant to you, but if you want revenge… I can give it to you." Raynare worriedly spoke, desperately reaching for Issei. But he just seemed so cold, almost as if he was a completely different being.
She could sense it… His deep wells of power. She couldn't tell what they were, but she could sense the insane, ridiculous, infinite amount of power the stemmed from Issei's core. The power she sensed wasn't even 15% of his power.
This frightened Raynare fell back, as her bottom ate the edge of the concrete sidewalk lined with asphalt from the road. Her eyes narrow, and her jaw dropped. Her face and body began twitching as she began to feel powerless.
However, a different thought began ringing in her head. What if Issei's magic would be sensed by the local devils, and high-ranking devils would come. That would not only mean the end for her… but Issei would be taken too. The thought of this more than tore her heart. It ripped her to shreds. It ripped each fiber, each tissue individually off of her body.
She rummaged through her brain, but could only come to one conclusion… 'I… love him. I want to fix him… I want to live with him for a millennium. 2 millennia. Infinity. I want to go do normal human things, like go on dates, watch movies, go to the park, go sightseeing… do everything there is with him. I want him to get all flustered when I try and give him some erotic play. I… can't imagine a world without him. If he died… I'd cry. I'd go insane. I'd hate life. I'd hate myself. I'd kill myself... I love him. I love him. I LOVE him. I LOVE HIM.'
She knew she had liked him, but now she was sure. This was the man who she could not live without. The thought of him being gone evoked her emotions. Issei was her night and day. He was her precious. He was her everything. Raynare got up, prepared to confess her feelings, praying to Azazel that he would stop.
Issei began releasing shallow amounts of power, as final thoughts that reserved him from using his powers lingered in his mind. One thought crossed his mind. 'Raynare. What would happen to her?'
Then a second thought came. 'She's probably fake. Just like Great Red and Ophis. Just like mom and dad. There's no way she wants to spend any time with me.'
Then a third. 'But… she saved my life. If it's anyone's, it's hers to take.'
A fourth. 'The hatred. The hardship. Everything I dealt with… was it all for this? Just to be caged to some girl I met a few days ago? Even if, on the off chance, she does want to be around me, am I just supposed to forget all of that pain?'
A final. 'I'm done. I give up. I'm going out like this. I'm going to unleash everything I ha-'
"Issei!" Raynare screamed, with her breath gaping, as if she's being suffocated, had interjected between Issei's final thought prior to destruction. She was hyperventilating, her face was blood red, she was vigorously clutching her chest. Her hair swayed in the small gusts that breezed by in the moonlit street, as scalding tears began trickling down her face.
Issei suddenly shook, waking him up from his internal fight. His face slightly turned to Raynare, who was standing behind him.
"Issei! I… love you! I want to be with you forever. I want to go to amusement parks with you. I want to go watch horror movies with you. I want to lay on the grass and look at the stars while holding your hands… I want to be with you forever! I can't… I can feel the power you have, and if you use it, you will get killed. I can't bear to watch that. I'd go mad! I'm hopelessly in love with you! Please…" she briefly paused. Issei's face completely turned back, staring at Raynare, with hair still ragged over his eyes.
She clenched her fists, straightened her arms, tensed her face, shot tears, and tightened her legs, and cried, "PLEASE ISSEI JUST DON'T DO THIS!"
His eyes dilated. They were growing larger and larger. Tears started trickling out as if he was just caught for doing something wrong. His mouth was tense, but it was slightly open, leaving room for him to hyperventilate. His chest was pumping, as anxious streams of air circulated through his esophagus.
Issei looked at hands, which were twitching immensely. His fingers were twitching uncontrollably like he was tickling somebody. He realized what he was about to do. He wasn't just going to kill himself, but he was going to kill Ray. This broke him. "Ray…" Issei murmured.
Ray ran at Issei, her arms swaying side to side through the midnight breeze. She tackled him, one arm around his neck, and one around his left arm and back. Issei didn't do anything. He stood like a statue, looking down, still twitching.
Ray then forced her head into Issei's chest, and looked up, opening her velvety plum eyes that glistened in the moonlight as her tears trickled out. Her mouth rapidly broke between a smile and a frown.
Issei was broken. Raynare was broken. Issei then returned the hug, his arms still twitching. He pulled her tight.
He didn't want her to leave. Ever. Issei then looked right into Ray's eyes, and sobbingly muttered, "Ray… what do I do?" His trickling tears turned into a stream as he began wailing into Raynare. He wailed and wailed. Tears flying out. The same with Ray.
Raynare was still extremely despaired, but then she remembered. Issei's parents. Those backstabbing sons of bitches. Burning in hell would be letting them off nicely. Raynare was going to torcher them.
"Issei…" she muttered into his chest. Issei loosened his grip and halted his cry. Issei had a heartbroken look on his face. Raynare saw this and clutched her left hand. He was thinking about his parents, but seeing him like this… just hurt her. Raynare had one thing on her mind. 'I'm killing them.' Ray thought.
"Issei… let me take care of your parents. I'm going to… teach them something." Issei nearly gasped, as his grip was completely broken and he tripped back. "Ray… you don't mean..." The dejected look was gone from Ray's face as a cocky smirk rode in replacement as she deviously offered, "You can watch if you want."
Issei's face was sore from pushing out all of those tears. So many that none were left. Issei nodded, as Ray smiled back, still in her adorable human form. "Promise me… that you'll restrain yourself… please. Don't kill them..." Issei, still in borderline tears, requested with a straight face, broken by occasional sobs. "Thank you, Issei… for putting your trust in me. Please forgive me if I do something bad to your parents… I might not be able to control myself, but I promise, I will try to reserve myself." she said in a monotone, dull voice. Issei nodded once again.
Raynare then walked towards the entryway of Issei's ex-home and rang the pearl doorbell. Issei dejectedly and worriedly looked at her, almost scared. He could smell the killing intent, but he figured that Ray was doing her best to reserve herself. On the other hand, it brought him reassurance. It helped him realize that she genuinely cared about him.
But, he didn't know that her intention was to go in there and blatantly murder them.
The door creaked open, a half-bald brown-haired man with a light blue Hawaiian button-up shirt opened the door and initiated, "Hi cutie! What are you doing here at this hour?"
"I'm looking for Issei Hyodou… He promised to let me come over tonight." The adorable kawaii Yuma~chan stated in her staple adorable voice. The look on the man's face was of surprise. It didn't knock him out or anything, but it sure gave him a startle.
He turned his head and yelled, "Mah! Issei has a girlfriend! Maybe he isn't such a failure after all!"
Issei heard this. His hair covered his eyes as he tried to ignore it. 'I don't know that man,' he thought to repulse the anger that streamed through him, for Ray's sake.
Ray, who blushed when the man said, "girlfriend", completely changed her expression when greeted by the second sentence. She wanted to just kill the man at that second. She deviously smiled while his head was still turned, as she knew what kind of torcher awaited him.
"Well come right on in missy! Issei is on his way back from the infirmary right now. We heard he passed out from depression. Ha! Who passes out from depression!" Ray was beginning to lose her cool. Issei pretty much just shut his ears off, thinking 'They aren't my parents. Not anymore.'
She walked into the house, followed by the door shutting. Issei had mixed feelings about watching it. On one hand, they were the people that took care of him after he got abandoned. On the other hand, they were arguably worse than the parents he was abandoned by. He never heard his biological parents say such obscene things. He decided not to watch.
Issei, sitting on the curb of the sidewalk remembered something. That barrier. Surely supernatural beings would come if that wasn't released soon. He swiped his arm and released the barrier. He used his magic to erase the memories of all who saw or heard about it, even if it included some supernatural beings.
He practiced erasing memories on his parents after his incident at school. As inhumane as it sounded, he would just tell them something, erase their memory, and ask them about it. He then did this for increasing intervals of time, allowing him to train his preciseness. He had magic that surpassed Sirzechs, so erasing a whole countries' memories wasn't a problem
Thank God he remembered that, or Sirzechs and Azazel would be ringing the doorbell just about now.
The inside of Issei's house was extremely spacious. The entry was split between a kitchen and a living room.
On one side, there was a limestone tiled floor with an island and a wall countertop resting on it. The walls on that side were beige but seemed white in the blinding light of the LED lights implanted on the ceiling.
The other side seemed more Japanese traditional. It had a darker shade of beige on the walls, some brown trim, and some ochre wooden floors. It was adorned with bamboo in vases, along with a modestly sized couch in the middle of the room. It was facing the right wall (looking at it from the entry). In front of it, there was a glass-topped coffee table with mahogany curved legs. Against the wall was a 40' inch TV, set atop a small antique brown chest of drawers with little engravings on it. In the corner of the room, parallel to the bamboo-filled vases was a black-leathered ottoman with shiny golden buttons between the crevices.
It was considered a model home for the Japanese Middle-Class.
Issei's mom was prepping dinner, cutting up vegetables for some udon. His father was on the black leather ottoman, attentively reading his "Building Inner Peace" Magazine.
Ray was just sitting on the couch in her cute school outfit, enjoying some tea.
Raynare then projectingly asked, "Mother, Father. Do you believe in angels?" Issei's mother stopped cutting and his father stopped reading. They turned to her with questioned looks on their faces.
Silence filled the air for about fifteen seconds. It was broken by Issei's mother. "Yes, we do," she responded, almost as if she took offense to Ray's question.
Raynare then sat her tea down on a black coaster on the coffee table. She got up, with her cute smile shadowing her inner hate. "Well, do you think your son has an angel?" She asked. Both parents were concerned about this. Silence filled the air for an even longer interval. "Of course! Granted, that angel may not be doing a good job."
Ray put on a devious face, as she was ready for them to taste their own blood. She licked her lips, while Issei's parents stared at her, with a slightly horrified look. They looked like they knew death was imminent as if there was no way to avoid it. Ray's mind was on fire, remembering what these horrid, rancid people did to the man she loved.
Issei's parents blinked. The girl they saw wasn't there anymore. In her place stood a mature girl with a large bosom, nearly completely exposed. There were thick black elastic bands that covered her nipples, as well as a cut-off top that resided under her breasts. She had bulky shoulder pads, one bearing spikes, with long black gloves emerging. She also had shiny black-banded panties, leaving her silky upper body near exposed. Her neck wore a banded necklace with a metal circle in the center, and the 5 bands connecting to her shoulder pads. She wore long black leggings that went above her knees, with long black boots.
Her face was similar to Ray's. It was petite but had sharp curves define her jawline. Her nose was a cute, small size; it was the same as Ray's. Her eyes were a velvety plum color, with thick eyelashes. She had thin eyebrows, allowing her expression to be shown clearly. Her long, silky hair blew up for a second, then gently fell back to its straight, long state.
She also had 8 wings sprouted from her back. They were jet black that matched that of a moonless night. They were made up of soft feathers that textured together to form dark, cloud-like masses.
Issei's parents froze. They didn't dare move. They didn't dare think. Chill after chill. They were forced to stay in place. If they moved, they'd be dead is what they thought. They had no clue what they were looking at.
"Well, I find it rude that you're saying that I'm doing a bad job." Ray declared in an assertive, dominant voice as she mocked the offense. Issei's parents' terror built even more. They felt breezes caress their spines as if death was calling for them.
"Hey, slut." Ray yelled, intending to get the attention of the stunned woman standing over a cutting board. Issei's mother gave an attentive gaze, but her eyes were still filled with denial.
"Use that knife and kill your husband. Right now." Raynare demanded.
Issei's mother's legs shook violently, barely keeping her standing. Mindlessly, she treaded towards her husband. She felt like she had a gun pointed at her head. She did what she was asked, no more, no less.
Issei's father, still sitting down on the ottoman, fell to his knees. His rationality was restored, due to the imminent threat to his life that surged through his body at Raynare's command. "P-pl-please… Have mercy on our souls…" The man shamelessly begged.
"You want to know something? Before, you know, die. Issei was with me when we heard both of you talking about him. I accompanied him home from the hospital. If either of you wants to see your 'darling little boy' one more time, look out the window. He's looking away, so he won't see you. Also, don't expect your cries to be heard. I used my power to soundproof this place. Also, even if he heard you, he'd just bite his lip," Raynare snared at the man.
Both Issei's parents' minds rumbled. "He… heard us? We've been so good about it for years, and now he heard us?" Issei's mother murmured. Neither of them had the courage to look at the window. Raynare exploded. They knew what they were doing all of these years. This sickened her.
"Oh yeah, he heard you. You know, if it wasn't for me, you two would already be dead. He was about to kill you with his own hands, then kill himself. But, rejoice. You two have been given punishment to atone for your crime. I, an angel, am giving you your sentence." Raynare snared violently.
Horrid looks ran upon the elder Hyodous. "Please… mercy on our souls…" The old man cried out. He was completely bent over with his head to the floor. Issei's mother, with a horrid look on her face, slowly trudged across the kitchen, into the living room.
Ray laughed. "Well, I'll leave you to it. Hey, flat chest. After you kill him, you can either kill yourself or call the cops. You 2 need to repent. Remember, I'm an angel, I can always see what you're doing," Ray lied. She couldn't see jack shit, but Issei's parents sure as hell believed it.
As the seemingly zombified woman with a knife trudged toward the man on his knees, Ray took her leave. She hurried back to Issei, fearing he would see what she did. Ray truly was a Fallen Angel, broken at her core.
She went back into her school uniform and retracted her wings.
Issei, on the other hand, kept cycling between emotions. It went from denial to anger to sadness to worry. He wasn't worried about his parents, rather the rest of his life. What if the supernatural world caught wind of this. It would be bad.
Issei got up from the curb and began walking towards the front door to his former home. While Issei was walking, Raynare popped out of the door, with a worried look on her face, as if she was trying to leave before it was too late. She then noticed the slowly strolling Issei, then asked herself, 'Was he about to go inside? Thank God I finished.'
Ray just realized something. A huge blunder. A catastrophic mistake. Her promise.
She promised Issei she would do her best to restrain herself, but if he caught wind of what happened, it's possible he would hate her. That possibility crumbled her heart. Then she remembered one more thing. What she said to his mom. Ray allowed Issei's mom to call the police, instead of just killing her.
Ray's mind ran and ran. The possibilities scared the ever-living shit out of her. Likely, Issei's mother would call the police and confess everything she saw. This wasn't a problem for Ray because it would just make her look even more insane.
The real issue that would happen would be Issei's inheritance. He would definitely be told his mother's story. Issei would instantly know what happened, and realize that she broke their promise. Things like that only happen with killing intent, not restraint.
Ray hoped it wouldn't come to this, but possibilities just kept on rushing through her mind.
Issei was just staring at a dazed Ray, who was mindlessly walking away from Issei's ex-house, towards him.
Issei walked towards Ray and pulled her into a hug. This started Ray. She woke up from her nightmare to the warmth of Issei's embrace. It was so warm. She literally felt herself melt in his arms. They were about the same height, but Ray intentionally cuddled in his chest. It felt safe.
"Thank you… For being here." Issei softly spoke, as his breath blew Ray's hair. He then looked down on her with a warm smile. Such simple words with such a straightforward meaning, but this melted Ray's mind. She completely forgot all of her worries. Nobody had said anything like this to her since Gabriel in Heaven before she fell.
Her face was a violent crimson. Issei could literally feel her face scalding his chest, almost as if it were a stovetop. "Isse- Is- I-" She cried, sniffling into his chest. These words hit her in such repressed places. "I… ki- I… brok-" she tried muttering. She was trying to bring the truth out about what she did, but fear consumed her when she started speaking. She was frightened at what his response could be. "Shhh… Shh…" Issei softly blew.
Issei had absolutely no clue what would make her cry so much. Sure, his familial situation may have caused her some heartache, but this gushing of tears was unlike her. "We all have secrets… We all do…" Issei calmly reassured Ray. It's not like Issei didn't have any secrets either, being the son of the 2 most powerful beings in the world and not telling anybody.
This made Ray melt. She just stood in the night, bawling into Issei's chest, as the wind howled and blew her hair.
Her tears halted as Issei slowly broke the hug. Ray's smile returned, as she was finishing wiping her tears away. "You always ~sniffle~ know what to say… huh?" Ray said with a smile on her face.
"I love you Issei, now and forever. Please… be with me for eternity," Raynare ardently whispered. "I love yo-" Issei started. Images of Great Red and Ophis rang in his head. Then, pictures of his school. Then, pictures of his adopted parents. They passed like a slideshow.
Issei grunted, put his right hand on the side of his head, and kneeled. It hurt. "Issei-" Raynare started. "I'm fine. It's just… pictures of my biological parents rang in my head, reminding me what it's like to be abandoned. Please, Ray. Promise me you won't be like the rest." Issei desperately requested.
"Silly, didn't I just say I wanted to be with you for eternity. I wouldn't have said it if I didn't mean it." Ray responded, reassuring Issei.
"Thank you, Ray. I… love you. I love you more than anyone else. You've cared for me more than anyone else, and you've saved my life. Twice." Issei confessed.
Raynare was red. 'He's adorable! I want to be with him forever!'
"Alright lovebird, we gotta go. That barrier is sure to be investigated." Ray continued. "Well, where are we going?" Issei asked.
Issei's stomach roared. He forgot that all he had that day were some Pickle-Flavored Lays Chips and Dasani water. Ray chuckled while Issei blushed. He got embarrassed when people saw his weaknesses, even though he just let Ray carry him to a hospital, and let him cry on her shoulder. "Can we, uh… go get something to eat?" Issei asked.
"Are you asking me out on a date? After all this? You sly dog-" Ray stated with a lecherous voice. "I- uh- no... I- mea- ugh... I mean yes. We just confessed right? It's ok to go on a date, right?" Issei asked. "You're silly. That was just a tease. And you seriously want our first date to be after something like this? Let's get some take-out and head to my place. That's where we'll be staying… unless you don't want to stay with me…" Ray offered.
Issei's face was a dark cherry color. 'L-l-l-live with a girl?! Let alone, the prettiest lady ever? Wait… she's a fallen angel, so she probably lives alone… I'M GOING TO LIVE ALONE WITH RAYNARE!?' Issei's mind rampaged. Steam flushed out of Issei's ears as his face only got redder and redder. His jaw was wide open.
Raynare broke out into laughter. "Alright, we seriously got to go before the cops- I mean before it gets too late." Raynare just caught herself. She found it too easy, to be honest with Issei.
"Are- uh you thi- uh are you ok with me living with you?" Issei asked, totally stunned. "Yeah, dummy. I said it, and I meant it." Raynare said, reassuring Issei, but it didn't have any effect on his cherry face.
"I'm sorry to ruin the atmosphere, but I have one question," Ray asked. Her lecherous, goofy tone completely disappeared and was replaced with a serious one. A dead serious one. Issei's expression changed accordingly. "Anything for you," Issei responded.
"Alright, so… who exactly are you?" Raynare pressed.
CHAPTER END
That… was… awesome! I wanted to see Issei go full dragon on his parents as you did, but I want Ray to find out Issei's identity more civilly and conversationally. Don't worry, he'll scare the shit out of the other girls in this story.
