Chapter 11 - Poison and Love

Issei and Ray arrived at the base of a large condo highrise. The driveway itself was worth millions. It had gold embroidered dark oak pillars that held up the covering to the driveway. The hotel itself felt royal. The exterior had a theme of dark-brown, white, beige, and gold. Every floor had a patio of some kind, so you could vividly see the endless amounts of rooms that the hotel actually had.

Issei hadn't lived so royally his entire life, mainly due to the fact that he spent the first 5 years of his life in an empty void, and the rest in a dragon-infested wilderness.

"Damn Ray! Thought we were going to show up to some run-down motel but this is great!"

Ray laughed.

"Well, Mr. Dimensional Gap, it seems to be a huge upgrade from what you were living in before, don't you think!"

'Before…' Issei thought.

Issei got a headache. Memories of his adopted parents rang with each recollection. His biological parents, Kokabiel, Shalba, Vali, everyone just flooded through his broin.

It got worse and worse until Issei was on his knees.

"Worthless!" "Failure!" "Garbage!" Issei faintly heard while the memories ran on and on.

With the exception of his parents gossiping about him behind his back, nobody ever called him that. But that's all he heard. He thought his parents were there for him, but the more he thought about it, the more it became clear to him. That's all he heard his whole life. Failure to defend himself, failure to be normal, failure to make friends… All of these things haunted him and reeked throughout his mind.

After the day Issei had, waking up in a hospital, his parents abandoning him, revealing his identity, a reaction was not only completely natural, but to be expected.

"Issei! Issei! Issei!" Issei faintly heard. It sounded different like someone was worried about him.

He looked straight ahead and saw a beige wall with a light beaming down into his eyes.

Issei rubbed them.

"Issei! You're awake!" Raynare wailed as she leaned over, into his line of sight.

"You just passed out on me! Like out of the blue! What happened!"

Issei realized he was laying down on a comfy couch, staring straight up.

AN: Setting The Scene Here (This setting will be in a lot of scenes in the future, so I'm just going to describe it all here. I'm attempting to be really thorough with this.)

He sat up and looked around. To his left was the front door, with 2 potted trees on each side. It had a golden door handle that glistened in the spotlights above it.

The walls themselves, along with the door, were a light beige, almost a royal color. He realized the room itself was in a sort of octagon shape, as he looked around.

Looking forward was a large TV on top of a dark oak shelf. It had a Nintendo Switch plugged in, and a large collection of games below it.

Directly in front of him was a dark gray marble coffee table. He looked down, and saw that the couch he was sitting on was a dark brown leather couch. It felt really "homey" and warm.

To His right was a balcony with 2 glass sliding doors bordered with a black metal frame. The small patio had 2 beach chairs on it, and a black metal-barred railing.

Behind him was a section of the room split into 3. Looking backwards, to Issei's left was a bar. It had a black granite countertop and a dark oak base. Behind it were shelves of all different kinds of alcohol. All kinds of wines, from Merlots to Cabernet Sauvignons, beers, gins, tonics, tequilas, everything filled the wall.

Directly behind Issei was an open door that led to a corridor shadowed in the dark.

On his right was a kitchen, with a similar countertop to the bar, but had a sink with a black metal faucet and soap dispenser built into the granite. Behind it was a stovetop with cabinets below it, 2 ovens built into the wall, a large refrigerator, and another countertop built into the wall. Below the countertop were a bunch of shelves and drawers, but on top was a microwave, toaster, and a blender.

Above the countertop and stove tops were more cabinets with black metal handles., unreachable to the short Yuma~Chan.

AN: Back to Issei

"Well… I've had quite a day. The last thing I remember is we were talking, and images, thoughts, memories flooded my mind. I literally couldn't think." Issei relayed as a somber, blank look crept upon his face.

'Can't blame the poor boy. I guess this really shows that no matter how powerful you are, this can happen to you if you're neglected…' Ray thought.

"Well…" Raynare murmured, as she sat down on the blank-faced Issei's lap.

Issei blushed intensely.

"i-I uh yo-You-uh-sure you want to be-uh-sitting here?"

Well, his blank look was certainly gone, replaced by a scrambled cherry one!

'He's SO Adorable!' Raynare thought.

"I'm positive! After all, this is where I feel the safest, but I know this feels different to you, pervert!" Ray jokingly snarked as her snark turned more into a laugh.

Issei blushed and looked away, attempting to play it as if nothing happened.

"Seems you're back to your normal self." Ray joked.

"Yeah, yeah." Issei retorted.

"I thought a dragon like you would be into this kind of thing?"

"Well… even the heart of a dragon can be changed with enough years of solitude…"

"Well, you won't be alone ever again. I'm here!"

Ray laughed at the crimson faced Issei, but Issei unexpectedly tugged her into a tight squeeze.

Ray blushed.

"Thank you Ray…"

"For what?"

"Giving me a second chance"

Ray's face turned crimson.

"Well, you're welcome~"

A warm silence filled the air as Ray began to tighten her embrace on Issei.

'This is… the place I want to be…' They both thought.

After about 5 minutes of motionless hugging, Ray lightly tapped Issei on the shoulder, signaling him to release.

"Well, time for bed!" Ray exclaimed, with a joyful expression on her face.

'Wait… Clothes… Oh yeah, I sleep naked anyway and I can just make new ones.. I'll be fine.' Issei thought.

"Alright! Where will I be staying?"

Ray blushed and glanced away in embarrassment.

"...Ray?"

"You'll uh- I don't- erm- my room…"

Issei's eyes slammed open. His face was blood red. He pretty much froze up. He, Issei, was about to sleep in a girls' room!

Perverse images of sexual play began taunting Issei's draconic mind, but Issei rejected them as much as he possibly could.

"I- uh yOu -erm eh ah uhm, I uh- assume you have, erm… 2 beds?" Issei asked, praying that the worst wouldn't come true.

Ray blushed even harder. Issei noticed, and pretty much shut down. He knew.

"Uhm… one bed…"

Issei just sat there. Frozen. For about 5 minutes.

"I… don't think I can handle that…"

'Oh my Azazel. He's the cutest thing.' Raynare thought.

"Oh cmon, after today, you deserve someone coddling you to sleep."

"I-uh…"

"You don't have a choice, Issei," Ray asserted with a dominant grin.

"Alright… fine.

Ray helped Issei up, and the 2 walked down the short hallway, into the bedroom. Inside the bedroom was a king-sized bed, nothing like Issei had ever seen despite his royal blood, a large window with beige curtains that lent a view of the entire city of Kuoh, lit up through the night.

Out of the blue, Ray began unbuttoning her student uniform.

Issei's face went crimson.

"uhh-Ray… Why are you changing here!?" Issei muttered.

"Oh, I can't sleep with clothes on. Fallen Angel stuff."

"..."

Issei's crimson face became a maroon as Ray's breasts were only being covered by her bra.

"Well…I sleep naked too…"

Ray's face went on fire from her blush.

"Is that right…"

"I-uh-Sle-nkaed" Issei gargled out.

'HE'S SOOO INNOCENT! He's going to be mine! Forever!' Ray thought

"Alright Issei, let's go to sleep. I'll sleep with my bra and panties on tonight if you sleep with your underwear on… I don't want to ruin the reveal that early."

Issei sighed in relief. If either of them were naked, he wouldn't be able to sleep at all.

Scene Break

"Ugh-" Issei muttered, feeling his face being covered by what felt like jelly. He began pawing at the "jelly" until he heard a quiet, feminine moan.

Issei thrusted himself backwards, still half awake.

"A waha- Aahaaa - oppai-" Issei uncontrollably spewed as his face was back to steaming up.

Ray began laughing, to the point tiers came out, while Issei was frantically screaming.

"Ray, what the fuck!" Issei yelled, still immensely flustered. This caused Ray to laugh even harder.

"My pillow was a bit firm, so I thought you'd make for a good one!" She cried, still laughing immensely.

Issei, now completely woken up by realizing he's been sleeping in Ray's tits, got up from the bed.

Ray finally finished laughing, and looked curiously at Issei when he got up.

She never noticed Issei's manly baud before. His well carved pecs, his chiseled abs, his pumped biceps made Ray slobber a little bit.

Issei turned to her, and chuckled a little at her dumbfounded face.

Ray blushed.

"Do you have a coffee maker by any chance?"

"Yeah."

"Alright, I'm gonna make some before I have to go to school!"

"Wait… you're going to go back to school? You'll be treated more like a monster after what happened to your parents!"

"Well, having you with me would really change that!"

"..."

Silence filled the air for a bit.

"So you're saying that, me, a 4000 year old fallen fucking angel has to go to high school?"

"Never said you have to. Although I'd love it!"

"Ugh… I did say 'Anything for you', so I guess I have to. I'll use magic to create records of me there."

"Alright!"

Scenebreak

Issei and Ray are walking to Kuoh holding hands. They are near the gate of the school.

"Well, let's see what happens!"

Ray nodded as they walked through the school gates.

The crowd in front of them parted as they stared dumbfoundedly at Issei.

"KYA!"

Issei and Raynare heard in unison as all the girls squealed out of adoration for Raynare and Issei.

All of the boys roared in disgust.

Issei was an idol to the girls but he was a monster to the boys. He was in an extremely odd predicament.

'Maybe having Ray with me would make me seem more normal around here…'

They walked into the school building as the crowd began gossipping about the couple.

Issei looked up and noticed a crimson haired, white haired, and black haired girl staring at him, along with the "School Prince", Kiba Yuto staring him and Ray down.

'Ugh… they're just hiding their presence. They're supernatural of some kind. Wait… that's the white-haired girl I wiped the memory of… maybe I didn't do it as well as I thought…'

The crew staring at him turned and walked away.

"Devils… I'd recognize that red hair anywhere," Ray muttered in disgust.

"You're telling me the girl there is related to Sirzechs?"

"If you mean the Supreme Maou and former head of the Gremory family, then yeah. I'm pretty sure that's his younger sister, Rias."

"Ugh… that's why I always felt a devil watching me…"

"Alright Issei, I'm going to go to the attendance office to get myself all set up for school! I'll transfer as a 2nd year student, just like you!"

"Hopefully we're in the same class!"

"Hope so! See you!"

"Be careful!" Issei brighty yelled through the hallway. The reason he said it is because it could be bad news if those devils tried to hurt Ray.

'I love you Ray.'

Issei's Classroom

Issei got more looks from both girls and boys. They were practically staring him down all of class.

About halfway into class, someone knocked on the door. The teacher opened it, and to Issei's pleasure, he saw Ray in the Kuoh uniform standing adorably. All the guys gasped in surprise and lust. Ray was cute, and she had a large bosom. It was pretty much a dream for any guy.

"Hi! My name is Yuuma Amano and I was assigned to this class from the attendance office!"

"Welcome Amano-kun. Please introduce yourself to the class, and take a seat in any open spot."

Ray walked to the center of the room.

"My name is Yuuma Amano, a second year transfer student! Please take care of me-"

"Are you currently seeing any men?" A black-haired kid with glasses interjected from the back of the room.

All the kids gasped, and leaned forward. Normally all of the girls would call him a pervert, but Ray was really cute, so they wanted to know a bit about her.

Ray stood there with a light blush on her face. The class began barrating her with "Tell us!" "Who is it?"

Issei knew what Ray was about to say. He wasn't ready as he was going to be seen blushing the whole day. All of the gossip would be directed towards him.

'Please don't please don't please don't PLEEEEEEEASE' was the only thing running through Issei's mind.

"I-um-am Issei's girlfriend!"

The class flew back in shock, all silent. They then turned to Issei who was cowering like a little baby. Ray started laughing.

"Alright, alright. Let's resume class."

Ray took a seat next to Issei which broadened the class's gazes.

Hours flew by as Issei was mesmerized by Ray's stunning looks. She looked so damn cute in her human form. He couldn't decide which he liked more: Raynare in her fallen angel form or Raynare in her human form.

Issei was being stared at all day.

3:00 - End of School

Issei was getting up from his seat with Yuuma as the class continued to stare intensively.

Out of the blue, a blond haired man opened the door. All of the attention immediately shifted towards the man.

"Kiba!"

"He's so handsome!"

"Please go out with me!"

Are all things that could be heard around the classroom.

The girls crowded around him to the point he couldn't move. On closer inspection, the man had bright blue eyes, bright blonde hair, and silky smooth white skin. He looked like a celebrity of some sort.

Kiba Yuto pushed through the crowd and eventually reached Issei and Raynare in the back of the classroom.

Issei groaned while Raynare gave a defensive look.

"I'd like the 2 of you to accompany me to our club room. The president of our club would like to speak with you!" Kiba politely asked.

All the girls 'kya-ed'

"Ughh. Why does the president of the Occult Research Club need us?"

"So you knew? I think that in itself is explanatory" Kiba stated.

"Why would we go with you? What do we gain?" Raynare snarked.

"An opportunity." Kiba responded.

Issei groaned again.

"Fine, we'll go."

Raynare looked at Issei and yelled, "No, why would we-"

"Good, let's go!" Kiba interjected, causing Ray to somewhat enter her Fallen Angel form.

Issei and Raynare followed Kiba through the school building, outside, and into the Abandoned School Building.

Kiba then opened a door and cued Issei and Raynare to enter before him.

Issei was baffled by what he was sensing. It wasn't like an absurdly strong devil or anything. He'd just never thought a shower would be in a school room. He saw the silhouette of the shower curtain and thought, 'It's that girl…'

Issei had a genuine crush on Rias. He loved Raynare to hell and back, but Issei was a dragon. Multiple mates was normal for him. Issei blushed.

It took a bit to notice the white-haired short girl snacking on some candy and a taller girl with a black ponytail and some noticeably curvaceous breasts both sitting on a couch.

There were 2 parallel couches separated by a coffee table with a dark desk at the head of them.

"Oh, excuse me." Issei and Ray bowed, with Ray still holding a pissed off look on her face.

"Ufufufufu" the tall girl laughed.

As the door closed behind them, Kiba interjected, "Buchou will be finished shortly. Please make yourselves comfortable."

Issei and Ray sat down on the unoccupied couch as an awkward silence filled the room. The black haired girl was clipping her nails while the white haired girl was chewing on a chocolate bar.

'She's trying to seduce me, having me imagine her in the shower…'

The noise from the shower stopped and the crimson-haired beauty emerged from the shower. "Sorry about that!" she stated.

She was still a little wet from the shower which gave all of her proportions a seductive glamor.

'And it's fucking working!' Issei thought once again. Issei's face was a bit red, as he was holding back the blush as much as he could. Ray looked at him with a displeased look, and Akeno just did her normal "Ufufufu".

"Ok, so what do you want with us, Ms…"

"Gremory. My name is Rias Gremory, and I'd like to talk to you for a bit about joining our club."

"What club even is this? It's not one I've heard of." Issei asked, already knowing the answer.

"This is the Occult Research Club. It's more or less a front for something bigger, but I have a couple of questions first. First, do you know of the supernatural world, such as Angels and Devils?"

"Well, the ones we read in the bible? Yeah." He stuttered the "yeah". Issei wasn't a good liar, as he'd always been upfront, but this was for Ray's sake.

"Second, did you know your girlfriend is a fallen angel?"

Ray and Issei sighed. "Well, Ray here saved my life. Don't bad mouth her by calling her such preposterous things."

Rias was getting a bit angry. She knew that Issei knew well of the supernatural world, but he wouldn't say anything.

Rias looked him in the eyes. Issei had a look of fear in his eyes, then looked down. He wasn't scared Rias would find out. It's not like anyone in the room had even a fraction of his power. He was just subconsciously scared of being treated like a monster.

"Issei. Just come clean to these devils. Well, except for you know what, but yeah just tell them the story of how you met me, and-"

Ray bit her own tongue. She didn't want to finish that, because she didn't want him to think about what she did to his parents. She knew Issei was not just smart, he was brilliant.

Well, he was deductively smart, not socially smart.

Rias and the rest had shocked looks on their faces.

"If I do that… I'll probably break down in tears all over again."

"If you don't want to say, it's fine. Just tell us who you are." Rias stated.

"Gremory-san, I can't do that. You… and everyone else… will hate me."

The surprised Gremory family became even more shocked.

"Issei… we all have our private reasons for being here. Don't say more than you have to."

"It's not about the story of how I got here. Well maybe it's also tragic in a way, but the thing I'm more concerned about is who I am. I won't just tell that to anybody. But…" 'I have a really big crush on you.' is what he wanted to say.

"But what?"

"Nothing."

"I'll tell his story, well, from when I met him." Ray stated.

"Ok. I will step outside. Please let me know when you're done."

Issei walked outside, and Ray explained Issei's story to Rias, who's jaws were on the floor.

"How could someone that innocent have that done to them? Abandoned twice? No friends? All alone?" Rias exclaimed.

They all looked down, somberly as Issei walked back in, sniffling with tears in his eyes.

"Issei, I thought you left because you didn't want to hear it!" Ray worryingly exclaimed.

"Well, it's something I need to experience, so I'm about to tell the story without- sniffle- crying."

"Alright. So from what I gathered is that your identity along with your parents abandoning you and a lack of friendships caused you to not be normal? Join my peerage, and you can be like all of us!"

Issei stopped crying. "I legitimately would… if I could. Bring all of your evil pieces and try them on me."

Rias wasn't shocked, at least not yet. She glared at him with competitive eyes as she pulled out her remaining rook, bishop, knight, and 8 pawns.

"Do you still think I can't reincarnate you?" Rias snarked.

"Issei, don't do it. Please. For me." Ray begged. She didn't understand Issei's motives, but she began to think that Issei actually liked Rias, which was a threat to just him and her living together. But, she knew this day would come eventually, where Issei would develop feelings he'd never felt before.

"Ray, why, of all the people in this room, are you worrying about it? You know why they won't work."

"Yeah, but what do you gain from doing this?"

"That's a secret!" Issei lied.

"Alright, let me start. She held 8 pawns to his chest. Nothing. Rias was already feeling like a fool. A bishop, nothing. A knight, nothing. A rook, nothing.

Rias stood back in shock.

"You really must be strong, huh." She stated, dumbfounded.

"Please… don't fear me because of my strength. That's why I hid my identity."

"This is why I told you not to do it, baka!" Ray snared.

"Well, there's one more thing I want to do. Rias, give me one of your pawns."

"Huh? Why? If 8 didn't work on you, no way one would."

"Just give me one."

Rias obeyed, and handed him the pawn.

"Well, now I am an honorary member of your peerage. I'm pretty sure devils call it a proxy piece. Basically when someone, who's not a devil, acts under one's peerage by holding onto an evil piece without being reincarnated. I'm not an actual member of your peerage, but I'll do tasks for you, pretty much what any normal low-class devil would do."

"I… completely forgot about that. But, thank you!"

"It's my pleasure, buchou."

"Issei! Why would you do that! I wanted to live together with just the 2 of us! Imagine when they find out who you really are! They'll all be like everyone else! I-i-just love you, and to not be with you all the time just scares me…" Ray screamed.

Everyone in the room stood quiet.

"Ray. You know what I am. You know what my kind does. And you know that you will always be first place. Always."

"Thanks Issei… let's go home."

"Oh Issei, please come by the club room daily for activities, my new pawn!"

"Alright! See you later, Buchou!"

Sorry for the delay! I've been losing motivation & my job has been taking me to hell and back! I've proofread this soo many times, but I'm still scared it's not good enough.

I know that y'all don't like Rias and stuff, but I like her. I think that Ray vs Rias rivalry over Issei will be interesting! Not sure if y'all share my affection towards her and you're gonna drop… But I've been thinking of writing another fanfiction. I might end up doing it, but idk yet. For this new one, I'd actually write a story-board for it, instead of coming up with the chapter as I write it.

Idk who else would be in the harem. Koneko and Akeno will find their own loves. Raynare will call off the thing with the fallen angels, so Asia won't even appear.

I want Issei to rehabilitate himself while he rehabilitates those around him. That Sigma Male sort of energy really suits this version of Issei.

Also, Rias isn't attracted to Issei, yet. When Issei defeats Riser with his left pinky, then she will start to love him.

Also, I forgot to mention. Both Rias & Raynare are buffed in this story. They're about the same strength, and both have 6 wings.
