"Oh my, how you've grown!" Inko Midoriya coos, as she wraps her son Izuku in a hug.
The boy, formerly away on I-Island for a Support Engineer Internship Course for the past year, had definitely shot up like a leek, now standing near two meters in height. The boy blushes, hugging his mom back. "I-I missed you too, mom."
"Oh, I'm so happy to have you back! Our weekly calls were nice, but there's nothing quite like having you in person." Inko says, looking at her boy. "Oh, we have so much to do as well! We need to fully restock your wardrobe, adjust your bed size, make sure you get properly fed…"
"Mom, we're still in the airport." Izuku says, Inko looking up suddenly.
"R-right! Let's get you home first!" She says, before the two greenette's begin to walk off.
Izuku gives a soft smile and the two move on, but not before the boy gives one last look to the area around him.
"You're sure about this? I mean, just a few months ago, you never wanted to go back."
"That was before I realized I had to do this. Mel, you heard what Wolfram said. Musutafu is going to hell, and the heroes don't care despite all the proclamations of it being the New Home of Heroics. Someone has to remind them of the past."
"You'd be risking being pushed into everything you wanted no part in."
"I know. But, G.P.G.R, right? I can't just ignore the small problems."
"...Okay. But be careful, okay? Dad still wants you to help on the Omnidirectional Cybernetic Tendril Operating System when you can. I don't think being put behind bars will help."
"Hey, I'll have enough time to do what I can and help with OCTO. Now, come on. I need help packing."
"So, you're already enrolled in UA?" Inko asks, Izuku snapping out of his thoughts.
"Yeah. Mr. Shield has connections with the Support Course there, and I got in on a recommendation." Izuku explains, poking at his food. "As long as I keep up my studies, I'll be able to join the Japan Branch of Shield Tech when I graduate."
"Oh that's wonderful to hear sweetie! I always knew UA was your dream school, so I'm glad you get to go!" Inko cheers, and Izuku nods.
The boy looks blankly at his food, before he suddenly devours it all, leaving behind a clean bowl. "I'm uh… I'm pretty tired from the trip, so I think I'm gonna turn in early."
"O-okay sweetie." Inko replies, watching her son get up and head away from the kitchen. She looks down, a small frown on her face. "Darn it, Inko… You messed up again."
"These quirk amplifying drugs are running rampant over there, not to mention the sightings of massive creatures with bird beaks. Something is happening in my city, and I can't let it keep happening."
"So, you finally made up your mind, huh? Guess fighting a villain all by yourself would do that."
"Yeah… I guess."
It's been a long night for Detective Naomasa Tsukauchi.
Multiple reports of robbers and muggers suddenly tied up and strung up on light poles or against walls in alleyways, a number of noise disturbances, and witnesses saying they saw a man covered in webs fighting villains. If the Detective didn't know any better, he'd just assume it was a new underground hero, and move on with his life. Unfortunately, the man knew a thing or two about a thing or two, and the police hadn't been notified at all about any new heroes patrolling the area. Which means one of two things.
Either a new villain is claiming territory in a city already slowly starting to fall apart… Or a vigilante has had enough and is starting to take matters into their own hands.
Honestly, Tsukauchi hoped it was the latter. The detective has worked with the illegal heroes before, and generally has a positive view on them. They stick to their areas, away from heroes, and do things that most heroes (both spotlight and underground) typically think of as 'beneath them'. Course, they are still breaking the law, but the only ones who actually try to enforce that law are cities who actually have a reputation to uphold (Hosu in particular comes to mind, with how pristine that city is) or heroes that Tsukauchi personally thinks should have a psychological evaluation (Endeavor Endeavor Endeavor, everything that man says is a lie).
Still, it's Tsukauchi's job to investigate these reports and see what he finds. And what does he find at the end of this long night?
He finds a guy in black, with green webbing on his mask that also frames his white lens eyes, a hoodie over top with green sleeves that hold black webbing. Black, gray, and green camo pants that lead into black combat boots with green laces cover his legs, completing his look.
The guy looks at him, mechanical frames squinting the eyes, as they stare each other down. The two stand in silence, before both Tsukauchi and the Vigilante pick up a transmission. Another robbery, neighborhood jewelry maker. The guy shoots out a web and swings away, Tsukauchi watching him go.
The man leaves a note behind this time, liking having had time to write before that next crime.
'Tied Em Up For Ya- Your New, Friendly Neighbor, Spider-Man'
Tsukauchi lets out a sigh, before pulling a cigarette out from his coat. A smile crosses his face as he lights up, taking a puff before looking back in the direction that 'Spider-Man' went.
He's happy to have another vigilante on the street.
"LET ME GO!"
"You really don't get what's happening here, do you?"

"MMMPH!"

"You're clean. Good. Hold still, I need to give you breathing holes."
"Mmmm…"
"Whenever you get back on the streets, stay away from local stuff, okay? These folks have it hard as it is."

Inko shoots up in her bed, looking around. It's early in the morning, a weekday. Why does she feel so odd?
…
It's Izuku's first day of class.
The woman rockets out of bed, and makes her way to the boy's room. She opens the door, finding it empty. She goes to the kitchen, empty. Front door… A note.
'Going To School. See you after you get home from work. - Izuku'
Inko let's out a sigh. "Damn it…"
It's a hectic first day, if you ask Power Loader.
But for the support course, it's always like that. Everyone wants to show off, be the best of the best, show their peers that they can create with the best of them.
But there's one student who just… Doesn't do that. A lonely looking boy at the back of the class, head stuck in his notebook, as he tries to slink away from the world. Izuku Midoriya, fifteen, quirkless, dead father, and probably the victim of relentless bullying in the past.
It pains the teacher's heart to see a student look like he's already given up. The man thinks about maybe reaching out to him, but the loudest of his students beats him to it, as Mei Hatsume quickly drags Midoriya over to her desk to discuss the tensile strength of artificial webbing that a vigilante she saw the other night had. And surprisingly, Izuku talks about it happily. Maybe the kid had more spark to him than he let on.
Though a vigilante being what sparks his fire? Power Loader will have to talk with Eraser about this later.
Though the season was Spring, it was still rather chilly out. Chilly enough that anyone would want to escape that cold at their first opportunity.
Chilly enough for a man with fidgety eyes and fingers like keys to break into a car with zero hesitation. It was an older model, but it was still a nice car, would make a nice buck or two at a shady dealings place.
So, as the robber went to start the car, he was startled by a sudden cough from the back seat. He turned to find a black and green mask under a hood, narrowed white eyes looking at him. "You know, in the future, if you're gonna steal a car, don't dress and act like a freaking car thief, man."
"Wh-what the hell are you? A-are you a hero?" The robber asks, and the masked man shakes his head.
"Really? Guy in a mask, doesn't say his name immediately, and you assume he's a hero? You know, you are, you're a real funny man." The man flicks his wrist, a white web covering the robber's cheek. The man tries to open the car door, but another wrist flick shoots a web line, closing the door. "See, I was going for more of a masked mystery vibe myself." Another attempt at the door, another close. "But, yeah, hero, let's vibe with that." The robber starts to roll down the window. "Yeah, there you go, window, that's the smart move."
The man crawls out and falls to the ground, quickly scrambling up, looking into the car's backseat to find… Empty air.
The robber looks around, the empty parking lot giving him nothing but the sounds of the city.
"LEG SWEEP!" The masked man shouts, suddenly darting from underneath the car and spinning himself in a circle. The robber is forced into a fall, before the backseat instructor suddenly launches up a leg, kicking him against a nearby wall, a wrist flick attaching both his legs to it, as he hangs against the surface.
"What the hell is this stuff?!" The robber yells, trying to reach up and swipe at the webs.
"Webs, you know, like a spider?" The robber looks confused. "Because I'm Spider-Man? Seriously, you'd think the cops would announce they're looking for a vigilante calling himself that by now."
"Man, let me go!" The robber shouts, and Spider-Man sighs as he shakes his head. He flicks a wrist out, locking an arm to the wall, then another, and then he covers the man's whole body in webs, save for a sparse bit of skin on his arm, and his mouth.
The vigilante tilts his head, his eyes narrowing, before he jumps forward, hands slamming against the wall. He reaches for the man's arm, and turns the exposed skin, finding a red, pulsating mark. "Trigger…" He says, before looking at the man. "Where'd you get this, huh?" The robber stays quiet. Spider-Man stares at him, raising a hand to his face. Blue electricity begins to crackle in his palms, as his chest glows the same color. "I asked where you got this."
"F-from the dealer off of Obeewan and Tatone! T-Takamichi is his name!" The robber confesses, and Spider-Man lowers his hand.
"Good job." He says, before covering the man's mouth in webs. "Anyone tries to say you talked, show em the marks that'll give ya." He says, before a siren blades, and a cop car rolls up. "That's my cue to leave."
Spider-Man starts to run, but not before a gun-shot rings out, the vigilante dodging to the side. He turns and fires a web line, pulling the gun from the officer's hand. "I just did seventy-five percent of your job for you, and that's how you thank me?!" He yells, before jumping up high and flicking his wrist at a building nearby, swinging away on the line off to freedom.
The vigilante lets go of the line and forms another, continuing the motion as he continues through the city. A few pedestrians yell at him, but he doesn't stop. "Hey, I'm swinging here!" He yells, as he drops to the ground, running in a sprint, before jumping up the raised bridge of the trainline, attaching a hand to a passing train car, allowing it to drag him away.
"Damn it new guy!" Officer Sansa yells, smacking the back of the rookie cop's head. "That was our chance to establish good relations with a new vigilante! It could take months before we get another chance like that!"
"I-I thought we were supposed to neutralize and arrest vigilantes though?" The rookie asks, Sansa shaking his head in response.
"Not if you want to get any actual good work done." Tsukauchi speaks, walking up to the two. "Vigilantes help us with crimes that usually go unnoticed by heroes, so it's good to make a working relationship with them. They might technically be illegal, but they provide free services to people who need the help. That's how it's been since the early days of Quirks, and that's how it'll continue to be for the foreseeable future." He turns to Sansa, pulling out another cigarette. "So, what do you make of this 'Spider-Man'?"
Sansa crosses his arms. "Young, really young. I'd say either a hero school reject or someone in an alternate course wanting to do more. Efficient in capture, and considering how we didn't even see him until we got in close, likely good at espionage too."
Tsukauchi nods. "I'll contact Eraserhead and ask him to look into the kid. If we're lucky, we can either rely on him for help in the future, or even get him into the reform program to make him a legal hero."
Sansa nods, before heading back to his car with the rookie, Tsukauchi left behind to look at the webbed up man.
"So, if you can do everything a spider can… Exactly what kind of spider are you?"
"Okay, but if he increased the tension in his wrist mounted shooters, they could act as an instant capture!" Hatsume speaks, drawing out a small blueprint.
"Not if he doesn't have a tension gauge. There's also the matter of public opinion. Vigilantes have to maintain a better public image than most in order to ensure their own safety. If he webbed up a bad guy instantly, that might sour some peoples opinions." Izuku retorts, lowering his head sadly. "A lot of people just want entertainment after all."
Hatsume hums, looking at the clock on the wall. "Well, if he did it when no one was looking, I think it'd be fine. I mean, Vigilantes don't always fight in public. If he just has a number of different web types, he can fit different situations."
Izuku looks at her, and then let's his index finger and thumb pinch his bottom lip. "I do wonder if his webs could carry an electric charge…"
Hatsume looks at Izuku with a smile, before suddenly launching into a ramble of the laws of electricity, Izuku chiming in every now and then.
Power Loader merely watches them go, a smile on his face.
"Okay, you can't seriously tell me that what you're doing is morally okay!" Spider-Man yells, swinging after a large man in a bull costume who was currently crashing through a number of shops.
"I WILL CRUSH THE OPPRESSIVE RED WORLD OF MONEY AND SET THE PEOPLE FREE!" The man yells back, as he continues his charge.
"I'm no fan of capitalism either pal, but the big guys are the ones you should focus your rage at, not small business owners like these guys!" The vigilante responds, as he shoots a web line onto the man's back, suddenly being tugged down to the ground. He lands feet first, digging his heels in to try and slow the man down, as the rampage continues.
Suddenly, red and orange enters his vision, as what Hero would appear to contest someone with a large amount of strength?
Endeavor, of course.
"OH YOU HAVE GOT TO BE F-!"
The window in and out of Izuku's room slowly opens, as Spider-Man slowly crawls inside. Part of his mask burnt, and a number of cuts along his costume, he lets out a sigh, as he takes off his mask.
"Man, it's gonna take days to fully repair this." Izuku says, tossing the mask onto the bed.
Suddenly, the crashing of glass interrupts him, as he turns to see Inko, standing in his doorway, a broken mug on the floor.
"Oh… Shit."
