Summary: Set in my Wild West 'Verse. Alzack and Bisca were thieves, notorious, infamous, and uncaught….until Sheriff Laxus takes them in. But it doesn't matter because they have friends in Magnolia.

Pairings: Alzack/Bisca, implied parental Alzack/Asuka, parental Bisca/Asuka, some Bisca/Lucy friendship, and implied brotherly Laxus/Asuka.

YouTube Prompt: A couple's tribute to Pink's 'Please Don't Leave Me' because it could some up the argumentative side of some (Gajeel/Levy, Elfman/Ever, and Lucy/Natsu etc. etc.) and yet the softer side of them as well.

Bisca was a thief.

Not just any thief though, she was the Mulan Rouge, the most fearsome and sexy thief in all of the Wild West. She was wanted for stealing, ambushing, seduction, and the occasional assault. She never killed. Yet. But she was damn good with a gun and knew how to wield one without killing her victims. They can't hang her for murder though they might damn well try to for her stealing.

She has robbed a few banks in her day when she worked with other thieves. She hasn't been able to do it solo yet and she wasn't much for working in a team with anyone, as her last bank job taught her.

So here she was in the wild, dusty, deserts of America, waiting for her next victim. She spotted a lone man in a poncho and cowboy hat on a horse making his way to her. One would think he had no wealth but she knew better. It was the underdressed ones that you should keep an eye on, they always had something of value worth hiding in poorer, plainer, clothes.

She staggered before him before falling onto her knees, allowing her hair to escape from her own hat to add to the effect of a damsel in distress.

Men were such suckers for the act.

"Ma'am?" the man cried out. "Ma'am? Ae you okay?"

She gasped and fell further to the ground, her lips smirked against the dusty ground as she heard him get off his horse in a hurry. Hook, line, and sinker. She would be sporting new jewels or spending more coin by the end of the day without a doubt. As he approached her, she released the safety of her gun and whirled round, the threat on the tip of her tongue when there is a loud click and suddenly she found a gun being held at her.

"Or," the pretty boy said with a smirk, "You can give me your money instead. I know who you are. I've seen the wanted posters. In fact some of them are right next to mine."

So he was a thief too.

A really pretty one. He had a beautiful, if rather feminine, face which was curtained by long black hair. Mexican, if she took a guess, or at least Latino blood somewhere, which added to his exotic beauty. She had no doubt he had a very easy job of picking jewels of young, vapid, girls on the road.

She refused to be another moronic girl. She was a woman. She was The Mulan Rouge. She did not blush, stammer, or have her heart skip a beat as butterflies took residence in her stomach.

She kept an eye on him as she held her own gun up at him. They were at a stalemate. She rarely been held by the stalemate, the last person was –

No. she chose to leave that life behind when boredom got too much. She would not think of Magnolia at a time like this.

She had a real threat on her hands.

A real threat that she could work with.

"I have a much better idea," she purred as she dropped her gun down in a surrendering gesture, "have you ever considered a partnership?"

There was something exciting about robbing a bank.

Especially when you had the right partner. There was something thrilling about working with Alzack that she had never felt before in her life. The way he protected her but respected that she could defend herself. The way he let her take the lead. The way he managed to drain the colour out of a righteous man with just a simple, sexy, smirk. His skills with a gun were on the same level of hers, and she always found herself impressed by him.

And trust her that was something very difficult to do.

They hit a small town called Hargeon and robbed it all for it was worth. Everyone trembled in fear of them though they did nothing to hurt anyone. A few noises with their guns but they weren't idiots. They knew where to shoot without injuring anyone.

They barely made it out of town, out of breath, laden down with wealth that they would have to hide eventually, they couldn't carry it around everywhere obviously, and the adrenalin just beginning to wear off.

And then he touched her. Just the tips of his fingers on the top of her cheek as he brushed her hair out of the way. He blushed as she stared up at him. "S-Sorry," he muttered, "I shouldn't have-"

His bashfulness was her undoing as she tackled him right there and then and showed him just exactly how she liked to be touched.

She would later swear that was the day they conceived their child together.

It didn't surprise him that they got caught.

They had been slower since Asuka had come into their lives. And then for some reason Bisca wanted to go to Magnolia, she had to, and she convinced him that stealing from their bank would be a really fun adventure. They struggled to find somewhere safe to hide Asuka, and that was their first mistake.

Bisca had wanted to hide her in some bar but Alzack balked at the idea. He caught a glimpse inside, and he might be a thief, but he wasn't immoral. He didn't want his child to see men lust over women so early in her life.

Asuka, being her parents' child, didn't stay in her hiding place and wandered out, and, of course, she caught the eye of Sheriff Laxus. The most notorious, hard-line, sheriff in the state. He had no problem using her for leverage to get them to surrender, and then he took their child away before locking the door on their separate cells.

Life couldn't get any worse.

Alzack looked up and caught Bisca's eye and she tried to smile but the lack of their child's small warm body in her arms made her miserable. As did being locked up. If anyone hated being tied down to one spot they had nothing on Bisca's hatred. She didn't like to stay in one place more than one day, she despised being the one tied up (Alzack, however, had no problem when his wife pulled out a rope to tie him up), and she never liked to lock a door when she's in the room. This would definitely be hell on earth for her.

If only he had hidden Asuka better. If only he did his job as her partner better. Then she wouldn't be in this misery.

A blonde woman came in and was a welcome distraction from Alzack's angry thoughts as she immediately caused the Sheriff to shoot up and glower at her. Anything that riled him was an amusement to Alzack (the arse had the nerve to call Bisca a whore, and their child illegitimate. So what if they weren't legally married? Their souls were, and perhaps one day they would make it a legal).

"What are you doing here?!" the Sheriff roared furiously. "Salamander isn't here. For once he isn't causing any trouble."

"I know," the woman said calmly, and with the dignity of a princess. She made the Sheriff look like an obnoxious fool, and he knew it. It made him go red with fury. "I was curious. I have been reading about the notorious couple for so long that I had just got to see them."

"This ain't a zoo!" the Sheriff exploded. "If you want to gawk at freaks, then go to one of them freak shows."

Alzack and Bisca both bristled at the implication of them being freaks. As did the blonde, her dark eyes glittered with a suppressed fury. "I will see them," she stressed.

The Sheriff glared at her but then threw his arms in the air. "Do what the hell you like," he snarled, "see if I care."

She turned her back on him, smiled sweetly at the pair of them, and then stepped closer. She was right against the bars of Bisca cell, and surprisingly, Bisca stepped closer to the blonde as well, their faces almost touching. The blonde girl put a hand on the bar and Bisca did the same on the other side, their fingers intertwined.

"I just want you to know," she whispered, "that we will keep an eye on your child. Mira says you are not alone."

It is then Alzack notices the blonde girl's hand. She had a tattoo on it that was a similar pink to her dress, and its shape was exactly like the one that his wife has.

"Fairy Tail takes care of its own."

"I know," Bisca whispered, "I have missed you all. I was just looking for something more."

"I hope you have found it."

Bisca then looked his way and smiled, perhaps the most radiant smile he had ever seen from her. It was unusual for her to have one of pure joy, usually there was mirth, a twisted amusement, or a smugness to her smiles. She only smiled like this when Asuka had been born. "I have," she said finally, "I have now."

"We will find a way out for you," the blonde then smiled to Alzack, "both of you. I promise. We won't let you hang or be locked up forever."

And for some reason, Alzack believed her.

(He had great reason to as they were out within a year. Sheriff Laxus had loosened up enough to even to have a drink with them once in a while as he visits their precious little child. They would be offended if they thought it was because he didn't trust them with her but if anything it was because he was quite taken with little Asuka's charms, as was everyone.)
