Chapter 8: The Triumph of the Imperium
Ullanor was to be the finest trophy presented from Imperial conquest, and by the Emperor's word was it to be a symbol of Imperial glory.
Adepts and masters from the Mechanicum brought entire plattoons of geoformers and their most senior terraformers to mold the planet, destroying all that the orks had made on this world and creating a solid foundation on which the glories of mankind would be shown.
To this end, all remnants and bodies of every ork was systematically destroyed,to be replaced with the beginnings of structural foundations, along with Elementian technicians and up and coming tech adepts from Elementia's techno corps to be assisting where necessary.
One of these adepts, a young terrarian named Leonard of house Da-Vinch was incredibly curious about the machine that the deranged warlord Urg used against the allied forces. Looking upon the throne of baleful green energy that still emanated from it's ramshackle skin, the young technician, whom was an up an coming prodigy from the technical corps was piecing together the jumbled mess that boggled the minds of even the most senior of the mechanicum.
"What is going to happen with this throne?" Leonard asked a senior Magos as they saw to the dismantling of the spire.
"It will be promptly destroyed as is protocol. It is being saved for last as it is still emitting a powerful energy reading" the magos replied, as they tended to their various data pads and logistical cogitators.
Leonard could see that the mechanicum could not see the potential hidden by this technological marvel, for to them it was the stuff of xenos, but Leonard was a one in a generation genius, whom even his seniors within the technologica corps of Elementia admitted that the boy had an affinity to machines and technology that had not been seen in a generation, not since Alabast has there been a savant in the arts.
Seeing the untapped secrets of this machine, and not letting it go to waste, Leonard made his mind.
"Magos, with permission from my seniors. I wish that this technology be kindly donated to Elementia under the agreements under Article 4 Section 9 of the treaty of Chakra and be destroyed at a later time as decreed in Article 4 Section 11 of the same treaty respectfully"
The magos gave a small pause, his attention was pulled away from his work when the young adept said those words, he looked at the boy as he could see a spark of conviction within the youths eyes.
"That is a bold statement you make boy, do you truly understand what you are asking?"
"I do Magos, and I do understand that such a request is not to be taken lightly, however I feel that this is indeed a moment that requires such a bold statement. This technology is something that has never been seen or heard about in mankinds history. I believe that this requires a very careful observation as there will be nothing like this ever again"
The magos studied the statement of the young adept carefully, and indeed his many cogitators could not fault the logic behind the young adepts words, and indeed the magos cannot deny that Elementia could have a better chance as deciphering this technological mess better than his own, and it doesn't matter where such technology ends up in elementia as it will be destroyed all the same.
"Very well boy, bring one of your seniors and the agreement shall be finalized. But a word of caution, should this prove to be a mistake, there will be no second chances. Understood?"
"Understood Magos, and thank you"
Young Leonard saw to the task of notifying his senior in command, convincing him to agree to the terms for such a piece of tech, and a few days later the machine in it's entirety was bound to a elementian technologica facility within Elementia's space.
Collosal marble structures covered the once desolate battlefield, where once there was only blood and death there is cheers of triumph as millions marched in parade routes across the great setting brought upon by the master of mankind.
The Emperor himself was watching his armies with a sense of both pride and contentment, seeing the millions looking upon his dream of a unified humanity fulfilled.
Many different arms of the Imperial might was shown on display, from humble Auxilia regiments to mighty war machines of the adeptus mechanicum, each one adding it's own symbolism to the event unfolding before his eyes.
Standing before him was also the legio astartes, the great legions in their full battle strength along with their Primarchs marching before them. Each of his sons brought their own flair and uniqueness to this parade of arms, and each one was in full display to all of the propaganda camera's and advance astropathic communication lines linking worlds light years away to witness this single momentous event.
Yet the Emperor did notice one abnormality among the normal, the Shadow foxes marched alone, without Naruto to lead them, which the Emperor found strange. Expanding his psychic might across the crowd, the Emperor could sense that Naruto was nowhere near the parade, or even near the Triumph itself, but rather in a lone area the mechanicum had deemed too damaged to be repaired without potentially crippling the planets entire ecosystem.
Excusing himself from the moments formalities, the master of mankind used his powers to open a tear where his son was currently at, walking through the rip in space as though taking but a short stroll.
When he appeared before Naruto's general location, he was not expecting to see a single building. It's design clearly inspired by Elementia's architecture, which reminded him of a once great country that held itself as the first to see Solar's light.
Walking through the front doors made from what appeared to be both earthen clay and refined plasteel, the Emperor looked as a legion of shadow clones, all from his son, were carving names upon the walls of the building.
Looking upon each one he noticed that each one of these names were ones that were deployed across Ullanor and it's surrounding systems. Each one even showed their ranks and from which part of the Imperium's or Elementia's army they were from.
With this information the Emperor realized what this building was.
It was a Tomb
A shrine and resting place for all of those whom served in his Imperiums name, who fought and died for the dream of a unified humanity.
And kneeling upon the middle of the shrine, before twenty one statues, the biggest one being an accurate and detailed statue of himself, was Naruto.
Hymns of ancient rituals passed down from Elementia and her worlds were spoken from his tongue, each one the Emperor summarized had a spiritual significance.
Naruto was centered upon his work, his eyes closed as his heart was open to the world itself, Nature's energy channeled around him like a fountain of life, each slither of energy showing him the memories of every person that set foot on this planet.
Every memory he had seen he would both endure and cherish, every death he would mourn when others cannot. Nature danced around him as through he was a long lost lover. With every embrace showing a lifetime of memories.
Through this all, tears flowed from his eyes, these not being his own but of all those whom cried at their own death.
In a way, the Emperor himself felt a sense of familiarity with that he was witnessing, his psychic powers feeling each and every emotion that echoed through this shrine of heroes.
Naruto stood, with a final clap to bid farewell to all those whom died, he turned around to see his father looking at him with a sense of empathy, something that was at one point in his long life looked utterly alien to his visage.
"The fallen will be proud to have someone stand for them" The Emperor said with a sense of pride in his voice.
"I am just doing what feels right"
"My son. What you have shown me, is the most humane thing anyone has ever done in my long life. I have seen countless horrors, and many glorious moments in humanity. But this"
The Emperor said, basking in the glow of the shrine as the names of all those whom settle in its walls cast a spiritual blue hue across it's floor.
"This will be one of humanity's finest"
"Come my son. The dead have been blessed, now it is time to celebrate with the living"
The Top of the Triumph was indeed a sight that many mortals will rarely ever see.
Nineteen brothers, all generals and commanders of their own legion of genetically augmented super soldiers were talking among themselves as though this event was merely a family reunion, This was the scene that both Naruto and the Emperor were greeted upon as the portal from the shrine closed behind them in a puff of ion vapor.
The first to notice the duo was the great angel Sanguinus, whom brought Horus before the duo, a smile upon his face.
"Naruto! You made it" Sanguinius said with a smile upon his face. The two brothers clasped each others hand in a greeting as both of them gave the other a brotherly hug.
"I see you are well" Naruto replied, looking at the great angel and his majestic wings.
"The Expansions have been rather eventful, yet the legion still holds strong. We had liberated a few hundred worlds recently, as for myself well..." Sanguinius pointed to himself, his armour and wings as pristine as when Naruto first met him "You can obviously see nothing wrong"
"I am glad..." Naruto said, his eyes unfocused as memories of a million lifetimes pass through his mind "Glad that you didn't have to see it"
"See what Naruto?" Sanguinius asked, curiosity within his voice.
"Nothing... it is nothing brother"
"Speaking of... Horus was telling me how you both lay low the crude warlord of this world"
"I was merely there as support" Naruto said, a humble tone in his voice "Horus was the one whom struck the beast true"
"Yet it was through your support that the beast was slain Naruto... do not forget such actions saved many more" Horus said to Naruto, a hand firmly on Naruto's shoulder.
"I... thank you brother"
"Attention. Your glorious emperor has an announcement" The intercom blared through the area as Valdor and the Emperor walked upon a podium at the far end of the Triumph, there the master of mankind looked upon the masses gathered around the great structure.
"It seems father is starting, we should convene at another time, yes?" Sanguinius said, the two brothers agreeing silently as they all walked into their positions around the podium.
"Citizens of the Imperium, esteemed allies and children of mankind. Today marks the day in which the Imperium stands triumphant against one of the terrors of this galaxy."
"From old night, humanity has endured horrors beyond reckoning, we have bled and died for the salvation and freedom of all. Yet this is not an achievement that can be attributed to a single man, nor a single tribe or nation. It is with a single voice we of humanity pushed back against these horrors and brought the light of reason to a spiteful galaxy"
"As your Emperor, I thank each and everyone whom fought on all of these battlefields. Whom bled for their fellow man, and whom died for all of us to succeed."
"This galaxy is unforgiving to those whom take it for granted, yet we as a species have endured where others would of faded. We of humanity stand on our greatest triumph to date. As Emperor I thank you all."
"I started this crusade to spread reason to all corners of the galaxy, to spread a truth that we ourselves must be the ones to act where no one else will. And along the way not only were terra's children united once more, but my sons were united by my side once again."
"Each one of my sons before you is a master of their craft, a leader of their home and a paragon of virtue that all of mankind can aspire to be."
"Just as I have brought hope and reason to mankind, so have my sons healed the wounds of my yearning heart, each one of them precious in my sight."
"Yet the horrors of this galaxy are many, and time is but too short for what needs to be done. We as humanity must realize that today is but a prelude to the next conflict, the next challenge that humanity must overcome to truly find peace in this existence"
"I realize now that I cannot be everywhere at once, and that my duty to you all must be to the preservation of all life that we hold sacred."
"I call upon one of my sons, come Horus"
Horus looked on with surprise as murmurs spread among the crowd, chief among them were the primarchs themselves. Naruto looked upon Horus with a sense of understanding as he could feel what his father was feeling at this moment, a sense of both pride and happiness.
Horus walked beside his father, his face all but confused as his father took his hand.
"Horus"
The Emperor looked at his son, a look of pride shone within
"You are like a son and together we have all but conquered the galaxy. Now the time has come for me to retire to Terra. My work as a soldier is done and now passes to you for I have great tasks to perform in my earthly sanctum."
With this, the Emperor raises Horus's hand.
"I name you Warmaster and from this day forth all of my armies and generals shall take orders from you as if the words came from mine own mouth. But words of caution I have for you, for your brother Primarchs are strong of will, of thought and of action. Do not seek to change them, but use their particular strengths well. You have much work to do for there are still many worlds to liberate, many peoples to rescue. My trust is with you."
The Emperor, while raising Horus's hand, looked upon his people, and with a bellowing voice, spoke these words
"Hail Horus! Hail the Warmaster!"
Thunderous cheers echoed through the crowd, as Horus had a look of shock upon his face, all of the brothers bar one could not have expected this to happen. The Emperor extended his hand in a gesture of silence as the crowd paid attention.
"Horus. My trust is now in your hands, for I must do a task that only I can walk. I will return to Terra, our home and must begin a task that will cement humanities place among the cosmos. This task is a heavy burden, and cannot be spoken openly. I truly wished I could be with you all when the galaxy is finally united, yet the burdens of leadership require the greatest sacrifices"
"Citizens, my loyal people. I thank you all once again. Ave Imperium, Ave Veritas, Ave Humanity"
With that the Emperor walked from the podium, walking past his sons to a craft that awaited him at the top of the triumph. All the while his sons where murmuring among themselves at what their father has just announced.
Yet unknown to them all, Naruto could feel his father's emotions during that last part of his speech, and what he felt troubled him more than the announcement.
For he rarely if ever felt his fathers fear
"I must say Naruto, your legionaries are a blessing to our forces"
That was what Sanguinius said to Naruto, after the festivities had died down the brothers each continued their discussions with each other. Even though their father had left on such a short notice, it was rare that they would meet with each other.
The brothers each took a bit of their time to share some comradely with each other before eventually returning to active duty. With their legions already in transit towards their active battle zones.
"I must say, Sasuke is learning of our style of warfare with a skill that I find most fascinating. Rarely have I ever seen a person perform such acts of both abandon and precision"
"Sasuke has always excelled where others would find their plateau. I know of no one else that would show such talent"
"Indeed" Sanguinius said, the two of them resting upon a pair of chairs within the foyer of the Triumph.
"What did you think of Fathers speech?" Naruto asked Sanguinius
"To be honest" Sanguinius said, as a sag reached his shoulders "I find it a little sad and frustrated with father. He said to us that he would be by our side to guide us towards humanities unification. Yet he leaves us to do something on Terra, something that we do not have any idea about"
"You want father to stay with us." Naruto said, a look of understanding on his face "Because it is the only time you can say he is truly with us"
"Exactly!" Sanguinius said, a smile upon his face as Naruto understood him "Because of the Imperium we rarely see each other, otherwise we are just fighting and parading and performing our 'duties' but when is it enough?"
at that Sanguinius had a somber look, his sight looking towards his hands as though he was searching for something.
"When can we just... leave the life of battle behind? When can we finally put down our weapons and become more than just machines of war? Will we ever see the light at the end of the endless tunnel?"
Naruto could feel Sanguinius, his emotions flowing from him like a fountain, in many ways Sanguinius felt the most 'mature' of the brothers, yet Naruto could tell that it was merely just a front. Behind that was a boy that just wished to live a normal life.
"I guess..." Naruto said, as he started to stand "everything in life doesn't go the way we planned. I mean if it did then we would of all been different. But just because nothing went as we thought doesn't mean we can't change it."
Sanguinius looked at Naruto, a look of curiosity upon his face
"You can't change what has happened. That is a given, but what you can change is how you look towards the present and what you wish to achieve in the future. I believe that mankind will come to a day and age where we would need to shed no more blood. A time when we can lay down our weapons and embrace the wonders of the galaxy. But I know that it won't come through wishful thinking. That it is through these hands that I can shape that future I want to see. I just have to believe in myself and in those that stand next to me"
Sanguinius looked at Naruto, a slight chuckle on his lips as he pondered his brothers words, Naruto bid farewell to Sanguinius, giving a slight gesture on Sanguinius's shoulder, as he left Sanguinius whispered
"I kinda wished you would have been chosen to lead us... brother"
"Inari. How is the ship?"
"The temporary repairs seem to be holding brother Naruto, it'll get us back home"
"The Will of Fire will need a lot of care put back into her. Can I trust you to keep her safe?"
"I will protect her with my life Naruto. That I promise"
"Then I leave her in your hands Captain"
Naruto had just finished on his report of the fleet, it seemed that Ullanor had left a lasting scar upon Elementia and her people, one that would take years to heal. The burden of leadership planted itself firmly on Naruto's shoulders, yet even this will not break his spirit. With this information Naruto was surprised when he was lifted into the air, a great pressure put upon his back.
"Brother Naruto... It is good to see you once again"
The man whom lifted Naruto was a giant, his hulking size embezzled in an Armour of majestic green. Flames echoed across his Armour as his ebon black skin showed eyes of blazing fire. A fire that was lighted in a sense of comradely with Naruto.
"Vulkan... Can't... Breathe..."
Primarch Vulkan, father of the salamanders let Naruto go, giving his brother a friendly gesture on his back that almost made Naruto lose his footing.
"I see you had made quite a name for yourself brother" Vulkan said "Already the survivors of Ullanor hail your warriors as the angels of magic"
"Chakra Vulkan. My people use chakra, not magic"
"To the Imperium, they might as well be the same thing" Vulkan said with a smile upon his lips.
"Listen Naruto... I want to thank you personally for giving me Lee and his company. Truth be told the boy shows a determination that just makes me proud. It's like he was me when I was but a young-ling"
"Good to know Lee is going well under your tutelage"
"the only problem I have is the fact I have to share him with Mortarion. I feel that our brother doesn't appreciate the hard work and dedication your captain has for humanity."
"Yet you seem to think that he should only proceed and do such menial task to better familiarize himself with his 'fellow man'" another figure said, interrupting the conversation between Naruto and Vulkan.
This figure carried himself in a cloak of almost tattered rags, a breather mask connected to tanks of questionable substances upon his back, his eyes looked whitened and his skin a pale color with a tinge of green, yet behind those eyes was a man of hardy constitution, this was Mortarion, primarch of the death guard.
"I for one see the boy as a strong candidate to become a great reaper upon the battlefield, if only he did not limit himself with his own will"
"Lee is someone who will use his all if the situation demands it" Naruto said to Mortarion "I have known Lee for a long time, this is his nature. To strive and become a legend through his own hard work, but only using it when it is necessary"
"Understandable. But a pity nonetheless" Mortarion said as he walked away from the two brothers.
"So then brother Naruto. Tell me more of these adventures you have come across from your battles" Vulkan said as the brothers began their tales of unification.
Vulkan and Naruto spent hours traveling through the triumph, each second talking about anything and everything about their journeys, they talked about their legions, their successes and their failures and even talked about things that they both expressed doubts about.
"Horus is warmaster now... To command the might of the Imperium, I do not envy my brother"
Vulkan rested upon a seat, as it looked as though the giant had aged a lifetime in but a single glance, he looked at his hands, both of them showing their scars of a war that seemed to have no end in sight.
"You look like you are troubled Vulkan"
"I am Naruto. The burden of leadership has always been a heavy toll. Even father has felt the strain of commanding the Imperium and he has the knowledge of entire lifetimes to take upon. But us..."
"It's like we are still children..."
"Exactly!" Vulkan said as he pointed his finger to Naruto "We are but children yet he places such a burden on our brother like that. I don't think such a thing was wise. But I cannot deny that father had a point"
"I think it shows that father trust us to do the right thing" Naruto said, sitting down next to Vulkan "To place such a responsibility on Horus shows that he thinks we are ready to lead without his hand to hold us. In his own way he is telling us to take command, to forge ahead on our own path"
"You know. With how much you have grown and contributed to the others and even father, I'm surprised he didn't consider yourself for the position."
"What me?" Naruto said, a flushed look upon his face "I would make a terrible warmaster. I wouldn't even know what to do first let alone know how to co-ordinate you guys and all. Besides I'm not exactly friendly with everyone like Horus is"
"Yet admitting your flaws shows that you understand that you are not perfect and that you are open to suggestions. A leader is one that not only leads, but also knows when to follow"
"Even so... Horus was indeed the best choice father made, I will gladly follow Horus cause I trust him"
Naruto wandered through the triumph, looking at all the accomplishments mankind had achieved that were archived in this massive structure, entire sections were dedicated to singular skirmishes or even entire mini wars that happened during the crusade.
During this time he heard arguing in one of the sections, and came across a site that made him give a small frown in frustration.
"Why did father approve of this room?! Is he trying to exonerate the works of witchcraft?"
"This moment is a critical point in the Imperiums history!"
"You mean the moment when he had a weak heart and decided to let witches join mankind?! Bah!"
This section of the triumph showed the conclusion of one of the most pivotal points in the Imperiums history, one that Naruto himself even commented that had it gone another way would of changed the Imperium for the worst. One event where his heart has reached towards his fathers empathy and compassion of his fellow man, taming his anger and hatred.
This room showed a single world where the fate of trillions was decided for all time.
This room, showed the events of Nikaea.
And in the middle of the room, both with an animosity with each other, stood the wolf king of Fenris and the Cyclops king of Prospero.
Leman Russ and Magnus the Red.
It looked as though the both of them would almost come to blows with each other had Naruto not appeared before the both of them. Holding both of their arms as they almost struck each other.
"Honestly... why do you both fight like this?" Naruto said as he held the two in his grip.
"Naruto!" "Naruto?!"
"Leman... why do you have such hatred for Magnus and his kind?" Naruto asked the wolf king, his fist still being held by his hand.
"There is no honour in those who use the warp to fight, using something that is dangerous and justifying oneself to it's potentially corrupting nature for a little bit of power is a fools errant"
"Yet you still have those who utilize the warp within your own ranks Leman. Are you saying you have hatred for them? Your own sons whom had no choice in what they were born with?"
Both brothers could hear Naruto's conviction in this matter, knowing Naruto's history and the things his incarnations had faced during his existence on Elementia and her worlds was both an eye opener for Russ and a sobering thought from Magnus.
"Leman. I agree that pursuit of all knowledge is sometimes needed for the Imperium. We as humans only learn through either our mistakes or sometimes through the hardships of life. But that doesn't mean that we have to subject people to our narrow minded points of view because of what happened in the past. Cause we will just be continuing that cycle of hatred and pain all over again."
"Believe me Leman, I have walked through those shoes, one where I was only shown hatred and disgust for what I had no choice in the matter. I had to spend years of my life showing people that beyond their hatred, I was just like them."
"To love is human, to hate is human. All that we are and all that we can be in the end, is human"
"Father ultimately knows that all of the knowledge that he is privy too can lead to some terrible moments if it was known to those who don't understand why he says it is forbidden. But sometimes people cannot be convinced with just mere words. We learn best from the things we do, rather than the things we hear. I learn best with my fist than with my words because that is who I am. In the end father is indeed justified in saying that this is wrong, but sometimes someone has to be shown what goes wrong to truly understand why it is wrong in the first place"
"I... your right brother" Leman said, as he lowered his fist, he walked towards one of the seating's around the room as he had a contemplating look upon his face.
"Look. You are both my brothers. You both make mistakes. But it's what you learn from those mistakes that makes you a better person in the end."
"Wherever on the battlefield or off it, we learn from everything we do. To stop learning is to fall into your mistakes, those who do not learn from the past are forever doomed to repeat it."
"Wise words brother" Magnus said, a look of understanding on his face.
"Look. I know you two have problems than just this, I urge you two to talk it out with each other, get to know the other before you shame or slander them. You never know, you might actually have things in common you didn't know you had"
Naruto looked at the both of them, Magnus and Leman both looked different from just a few minutes ago, where before they looked at each other with outright hostility, now both of them has a somewhat less threatening sight of each other. Naruto knows that their problems can't just be solved with this one time, but maybe his words got them to at least see each other in a different light.
"It looks as though the jester is still finding his way around. How predictable"
Naruto's fist were shaking as he heard that sound, still traveling through the Triumph he encountered one of the few people that would get a reaction out of him, and seeing the smug look of arrogance on his brothers face almost made him lash out with his fist at his target.
Almost
"I thought you would be 'preaching' your tactical prowess on some backwater planet Roboute. Or is the thought of going back to warfare too much for your sensitive skin?"
"You ignorant little prat! You are barely in tactical control of your men and you wish to lecture me on tactical warfare? No wonder your little circus of a legion cannot compare to my great organization"
"At least I'm not sitting around and sucking on favors with noble assholes that only want a piece of the Imperium! Even I have standards"
"As much as I would like to show you how much of an incompetent mess you are. I have a war to win" Roboute said as he strode arrogantly towards the exit "I will be seeing your legion most likely never. They will be the legion filling the graves of forsaken battlegrounds"
The animosity between Naruto and Guilliman had only gotten worse since the events of Terraria, Guilliman's mind had been made up when he saw the recklessness of Naruto's actions in jeopardizing the mission. Not knowing that Naruto had saved the lives of countless elementians, earning both their trust and loyalty.
Terrarian's looked at Naruto as a savior that day, and many families swore blood oaths to Naruto for his actions on saving whole families from annihilation.
Yet Naruto was a humble man and only asked for their friendship, a statement that cemented their loyalty to Naruto and the cause that he stood for, it was a true irony that Guilliman had garnered animosity among Terrarians for his heartless action, while Naruto was hailed as a savior for his.
The two brothers are from the most different of backgrounds and ideologies, where one was born to a life of privilege and prestige, the other had to fight tooth and nail for all that he has done, sometimes to the disdain of his fellow man.
As Roboute was leaving Naruto had to hold back his fist, he was a man who didn't put much thought upon himself, but rather thought highly of those whom serve him.
Let it be known that to insult Naruto's precious people will serve as the greatest Ire in bringing forth his fury.
Naruto took a few moments to center himself, letting such anger get to him was beyond him, his darkness he accepted a long time ago.
A great rustling followed by shouts of anger alerted him to another within the Triumph. He rushed towards the noise, only to discover the room in which the shouts were was in shambles. The iconography of the room was destroyed or ransacked beyond recognition.
The room was like others in the Triumph, this one talking about a planet, it's many different facets of it's history were once on display, now broken and destroyed.
And in the middle of the Room, with one of his Axes ripping apart a mural from the planet, was one of Naruto's brothers.
His face was set in a face of pure anguish and hatred, the mechanical dreads embedded in his skull buzzing with an inhuman sound as he raged at everything within that room.
Naruto took action, rushing towards his brother as he caught his hand, stopping him from destroying the room even more.
"Angron"
Angron looked in fury at Naruto, a spark of hatred embedded in his eyes as his vision started to flow red, he tried to pull his arms away from Naruto but his strength proved nothing towards his brothers.
Angron tried to strike Naruto, yet every blow did nothing to Naruto, who still looked at his brother with a look of somber and kindness.
Out of all of his brothers, Naruto looked at Angron as one whom what could have been, one where his hatred for his fellow man consumed him. He asked his father about his brother, asking why his brother became the person he is today. The response his father gave him was one of the few times he had any animosity towards his father
'He wished to die with his family. Yet he was needed to lead his legion across the stars'
Naruto found it cruel that Angron was not given the chances he was given, to be given the opportunity to make not only his home but those he called family a better life. For someone like Naruto who had to fight for everything he had, the thought of being taken away from all that you hold dear would be a sentence he would not put upon his enemies, let alone family.
So he tried to connect with his brother, doing everything in his power to ensure that the loss and damage made to him could be healed. He even went as far as to ask Tsunade and Sakura if the nails embedded in his brother could be removed.
The duo pondered and studied the nails, finding any way in which they could be removed. They figured out a solution but the risk posed from the procedure could have lasting consequences and was not a guarantee that his brother could live.
Naruto didn't care and so asked Angron if he wanted the nails removed.
Angron's response shook Naruto to his core
'Why should I ask someone who was given our fathers help to save their world be trusted to change my life around? He took everything away from me yet gave you everything to save your family, friends and your way of life. What kind of person takes someone from their family just to serve some otherworldly purpose? My family is dead, I had to watch as they were butchered where they stood. And you are asking me to give up the last thing I have of them?
My answer will always be no! No now ! And no Forever!
Naruto truly didn't hate any of his brothers, Roboute might be one of the few that get a response from him but in the end he still cared for all of his brothers.
Angron had told him that he had no right to interfere with his life or what he wanted to do, yet Naruto still tried to persevere against his brothers wishes, this lead to the animosity of Angron to Naruto, yet Naruto was only trying to do good by healing his brother of the wounds that he carried.
Cause in the end, Angron was in a way what he could have been, and that was what he hated most about this.
"Please Angron, you are stronger than this pettiness"
"You dare lecture me! You think you can just try and fix my life just like that Naruto!? You do not get to say anything to me worm!"
Angron ripped his hands out of Naruto's grip, Naruto not giving any resistance. It looked as though Angron was about to pull out his axes to begin a new fit of anger at his brother but a moment of clarity fell upon his face.
"You arent worth it" Angron said as he walked away from the room, leaving Naruto to look at the destruction and wonder why did it all happen like this.
It would be as Naruto leaved the room that he would see the title of the room, the events that triggered his brothers rage yet would put more burning questions into Naruto's mind.
One word that would haunt him for a long time.
Nuceria.
His legion had begun their slow journey back home, yet Naruto was visiting the final places of Ullanor Prime before his ultimate farewell from this world.
All the places shown within the triumph had filled him with a sense of hope, that maybe humanity can finally unite the galaxy and bring forth an age of peace.
Yet there were still many hardships that had to be faced, yet he felt that maybe, just maybe
They can succeed.
He can only hope

Well... this story has been interesting to do. Lots of moments where i knew roughly where i wanted it to go, but the words just went no.
This story is more of a beginning of a series, or at least an alternative Universe. I will definitely do more HH era storied and probably the nation through the time periods. The stories are either gonna be all over the place timeline wise or concentrated in different era's.
I will say this now, i will roughly use 30k-40k timeline, but don't bother to say to me that "the timeline is wrong REEE" cause i know many different things are different in this timeline.
The HH series will focus on just the legion and their interactions within different places. But unlike the HH i wont beat around the bush for different filler arcs and stuff.
Anyway.. Till next time
