"A monster's work is never done, is it?", Robert chuckled.
"At least the good news is right now the things seem to be waiting for orders from Gallaxhar, which will never come. So at least they're all not rampaging at once and might come online one at a time depending on how long each one of those clones will wait.", Monger explained.
"Which might be quite a while, since they were pretty stupid.", Doc pointed out.
"So, does this mean we might get the rest of the day off, what with how crazy things have been?", Link asked.
Monger nodded, "Pretty much since the other six robot drones are still traveling overseas. I gave orders to my Lieutenant to keep tracking about them, through one of them is closer, seeming to aim for France.".
B.O.B. spoke up, "Can we pig out at a buffet?", a dopey smile on his face.
"B.O.B. you can eat the entire stock of a restaurant if you want. I think you've earned it.", Robert assured him as he and Susan sat down. "France... of all the countries one of them has to go, it's the one that you've been dying to visit.", he teased his wife.
Susan grinned lightly, "We got our wish, Robert. We are finally able to travel anywhere we want! And we got our own transport, Butterflysaurus herself!".
Butterflysaurus bellowed out loudly, and everyone glanced at Link. "She's hungry.", Link rubbed the back of his neck.
As everyone was calming down from the rush of things, several news vans began driving fast right towards the large group.
"Uh, will someone want to talk to them? I'm a bit camera shy these days.", Doc said. Susan sighed lightly, "Robbie, what do you think?".
"Well, I guess the world should at least know a few of the monsters that helped save it.", Robert chuckled. "You don't mind being on camera, do you?".
Susan shook her head, "I don't mind as long as it's for a good reason. I have to admit, those space outfits are really flexible.".
"At least we're right next door to our house.", Robert smirked. "If you want to get out of these clothes and put on something more comfortable, I'm sure they won't mind waiting a few minutes.".
Susan shook her head, "The sooner we do this, the faster we are able to be alone ourselves.", before she whispered to Robert, "I wanna cuddle with you in bed, naked. No need to scare the twins.".
Robert blushed upon hearing this. "Remember how I said I need some stress relief? That might help.", he rubbed her shoulders as the news crews started getting out, and to almost neither of their surprise, there was one man their eyes went straight for, but it seemed like he didn't recognize them.
"Great... just had to be him.", Robert muttered under his breath. Susan mumbled, "The loser brat himself, Derek Dietl.", before straightening up slightly, shifting closer to Robert, sharing a look together.
"Well, then, let's give him an interview that he's probably dying to have for his career. How long do you think it'll take before he realizes it's us?", Robert chuckled as the two of them sat back down while the crews were setting up.
Susan grinned lightly, "Five minutes.".
"I bet you two.", Robert tickled her neck as Derek walked up to them.
"Excuse me, you two, Derek Dietl, do you mind if I can get a few minutes of your time? After all, I think the public would love to meet its saviors from an alien being who planned on exterminating us all." Like they thought, Derek didn't seem to recognize them. This was going to be fun.
Susan nodded, "Oh, sure, what would you like to know?".
"Well, for starters, what was going through your minds when you were fighting that alien? Was there any sort of noble calling you could hear in your head about fighting for humanity?", asked Derek.
Robert chuckled, "Well, if you must know, we were more worried about each other. We both had been captured and our thoughts were trying to get off the ship together. At first, of course, that alien decided to really set us both off when he threatened our children.". Robert rubbed his wife's stomach.
Susan chuckled lightly, "He sure was a...ah, what's the polite word when kids are watching this on tv?".
"A jerk, I think that's the best way we can describe him without the FCC getting on our case.", Robert rubbed the back of his neck. "But mostly, it was just us and our fellow monsters that were focused on trying to save each other; before we moved to blow the ship up.".
Susan nodded, "Oh, sure, fighting the clones was a breeze, but there were some scary moments.", shivering lightly at the memory of Robert in the extraction chamber, the Quantonium being sucked out of him.
"Scary moments? Such as fighting the alien?", Derek inquired curiously.
Robert laughed, "No, he was actually a pushover when he was as himself. No, he had a lot of things in the way for us to get to each other and him and it was nail biting a few times, but well, you can't keep Gigantor and Ginormica down.". Robert rubbed his wife's leg.
"I see. And do you two have a story about how you two first came to be? Was it some lab accident or did you two just somehow meet, being the only 50-foot humans around?", asked Derek.
Robert looked at Susan and just gave the look of 'Oh, we got to let him have it now'.
Susan smiled fondly, "Well, we weren't always this height. We were normal size, and as for us, we grew up best friends, through my husband was shy about asking me out while I was focusing on finding a date for sophomore year, you know, for the prom dance and all. I went out to this place, a lovely restaurant with a good reputation of great food, and I was having a first date with this guy there when my husband came in.".
"I was working as the waiter and, well, I wasn't serving them, but this guy was a real piece of work. Like I turn around and next thing I know, he hits her! Then I go berserk and start wailing on him, trying to defend the woman that I love.", Robert said. It was at that point that Derek's eyes shrank as it suddenly clicked for him.
"Oh, my God...", he dropped his mic as Robert and Susan smiled. Susan smirked at Robert, "I think I beat your bid, Mr. Robert Murphy.", rubbing in the fact that she got married to her best friend, not Derek Dietl.
"Oh, by like thirty seconds, Mrs. Susan Murphy.", Robert laughed as their attention went right back down to the man below them. "What's the matter, Derek? You look like you've seen a pair of ghosts.".
Derek sputtered for a few moments before glaring at them, "I got no business with two freaky humans, especially you. I had to wear a splint cast for my nose! And I am glad I didn't go through with you. And I wouldn't stay for some brats like yours!".
Susan heard Robert growl, "What did you say?", before she gasped at a strong kick, rubbing her belly in comfort, "It's okay, Phillippe, your daddy's got this.".
Robert slammed his fist down to the ground near Derek as he got up close to him. "You know, you should count yourself so lucky that I'm a nice guy. I could've easily ruined your budding career that night by going to the police about what you did to Susan. But I didn't, because we never had to see you again. I'm going to be a proud father, and I'm married to the woman of my dreams. Meanwhile, all you've got is your career that you'll waste every moment of happiness you could have, trying to fulfill it. A career that I think might be taking quite the hit today.", he pointed to the camera man who was still filming.
Susan saw Derek widen his eyes in horror and shock, "Shut it off, shut it off!", waving his hands before doing a cutting motion near his neck, looking resigned as he realized that the interview was on live.
"What do you think, Sue? Does it go down in flames because of his selfishness, his arrogance or his violent tendencies?", Robert said. "You know, I almost pity you, Derek. You blew your chance on something much better than a career with the likes of yours.", he leaned over and kissed Susan on the cheek. "I'd give up everything in the world just for her love. A concept you'd never truly embrace."
Susan smirked lightly, "I'd say all three. And yes, love is the best thing in this world, or even the whole universe. Come on, I think I had enough of cameras for today, darling.".
"Enjoy trying to crawl your way out of this one, Derek.", Robert waved as the two of them walked back toward their house. "And thanks again for giving me the courage to finally ask this amazing woman out!".
Derek stood there silent for a moment before turning to his camera man. "I'll make sure you get fired too, somehow!", he growled as he stormed by.
Susan kissed Robert warmly on the lips, "You know, that was most memorable. We definitely have to tell the story to the kids someday.".
"Oh, they'll know about Derek and be thankful for him. Like I said, if he never went out with you, I never would have worked up my courage and well, you obviously know the rest.", Robert kissed her on the cheek as the two of them walked inside. "I swear, it's only 8 in the morning and I still feel so tired.".
Susan chuckled softly as she closed and locked the door and pushed a button for the low-sunlight blinds everywhere on the windows to lower down. The news vans are still out there, but she has a feeling that Monger will drive them off sooner or later.
Susan squeezed his hand softly, "Let's go cuddle and doze in bed. I am so ready to strip out of this outfit. I think I got alien clone blood somewhere.".
"Yeah, I'm just half tempted to have these things burned, but it might be better to let Doc get his hands on them first. Just to know how exactly these things change shape and all. It would be good to get a bunch of our old clothes back, just at a more fitting size.", Robert said as he looked over his wife. "Now let's see if I can find a zipper on this thing.".
Susan chuckled, "I wouldn't mind if you go all the way through, Robbie. After all, there's much stranger places for zippers to end up than the back or front.".
"Yeah, well, let's just say I want to see your body once more, and let us both see if you're starting to put on that baby weight.", He patted her butt. "Try not to make your Mama too fat, Esme, Phillippe, Papa still wants to have grown up fun with her.", he joked as he kissed her back. "Don't worry, love. You'd still look beautiful to me even then."
Susan blushed softly, "Ever the flatterer, darling. Did you find it yet?".
Robert looked for another moment before he found something, "I think so." It looked to be a tiny button that he pressed, and her clothes just all fell to her feet, leaving her naked. "Wow, that's fast.".
Susan blinked, "Okay, I take it that it wasn't a zipper?", before glancing down with a smile, seeing the baby bump, and touched it gingerly, feeling something stir. Susan chuckled softly, "I think our children has the same idea. They're sleeping and dreaming.".
Robert looked around at the same moment he found his button and was just as naked as her. He then walked over to see his wife from the front as he kneeled down to place his hands on her belly.
"And getting bigger by the second. It's truly uncharted territory for us, isn't it? I mean, not just the whole being parents and all, but the fact that these two are anything but normal.", Robert gave another rub. "I wonder if we were normal again, how much time it's been for them. They certainly aren't one-month old, that's for sure.".
Susan hummed in thought, "Well, actually, their age is a month old around now, but their size, I have to say, maybe five or six months old, if I remember Mom's stories right.".
"Five or six?", Robert's eyes nearly bugged out of his head. "God, you two really just can't wait, can you?", Robert chuckled. "And so far, none of the whole usual problems with pregnancy, unless I'm jinxing us.", Robert gave a sheepish grin.
Susan chuckled lightly, "Relax, that aggression phase back there was for being overprotective of my twins and imagining Gallaxhar's death on every clone. And I think they are waiting for their brains to grow first. After all, their age is a month old. It will be perhaps shorter than a normal human's pregnancy, but it still takes time.".
"Well, let's hopefully give them that time to develop now. I mean, I think they're growing as normal, just the Quantonium is speeding things along.", Robert nearly got weepy eyed again. "Sorry, was just thinking what they would look like if they were like before... would Esme or Phillippe have your hair or mine? Those sorts of things.".
Susan dragged Robert gently to the bed, and got down herself, laying back, patting the spot besides her, "Rest your head near the twins. Talk to them, like with a story. They clearly could hear. After all, Esme kicked me when she heard your voice, and Phillippe heard Derek's voice. Apparently, he got your attitude when he heard the tone in that jerk's voice. He and she may not understand clearly enough, but they sure understand volume and tone.".
"Of course.", Robert laid in the way Susan wanted him to as he gently rubbed her stomach. "Hey there, you two...", he spoke in a soft gentle tone. "You two doing alright? I hope so, we're sorry that the past day really has just been a bit too much for you two. You know Mama and Papa would never mean to put you in harm's way or worry you.", he said.
Susan smiled gently as she caressed a hand through Robert's hair, "I like the sound of that. Mama and Papa.", blinking lightly as there was a flutter, "Keep talking, darling, I think they want to listen to you while they're dreaming. Perhaps they're imagining what you look like from your voice.".
"Well, I hope I can live up to their expectations and all.", Robert laughed as he kept rubbing her belly. "You two are going to be so beautiful when you finally come into this world. You're going to make us even more happy when that happens.".
Susan sighed softly as she's slowly dozing off to the peaceful, content sensation of Robert's rubs on her belly, murmuring quietly, "Our wonderful miracles.".
"We certainly have been blessed these last few months. That's for sure.", Robert kissed her belly as he made a few more rubs and felt, not what felt like kicks, but more like their children were trying to reach out and touch his hand.
Susan cuddled closer into Robert's side, whispering sleepily, "They love you already.".
"Probably not as much as their mother though... After all, I've done my job, and you sadly have to carry all the workload now with them.", Robert chuckled as he grabbed Susan's hand and gave it a gentle kiss.
Susan half-glanced under her lids at Robert, "You know, I was surprised when our love-making was quite painless and pleasantly smooth, and I would be greatly surprised if labor is less painful when the time comes. Mom said that she was in labor with me around 16 hours before I finally came out.".
"Mine said it took me only 4.", Robert said as he crawled up to her and wrapped himself around her. "But I think you might be right, I mean, after all, when I took your virginity, you didn't feel anything remotely close to pain. So perhaps the same thing will happen when these two finally come.".
Susan kissed his cheek softly, "You know, a home birth is the only option we got, and I ain't heading back to the base.".
"No, I think that would be good for you especially if it is as we worry, being long and painful.", Robert brushed her hair. "I'm sure we'll think of something; after all, I'm sure I can help deliver, we just need a doctor to run us through it. And no, I wouldn't suggest Doc; I would mean more of an obstetrician. One who's done this before, just not to this scale."
Susan nodded, "Good. Doc is a mad scientist, anyway. And having you help deliver could be so wonderful.".
"Hey, I just want to see those two as soon as you do.", Robert tickled her before she ended up rolling on top of him. "Heh, thank goodness I got the Quantonium back, if I could've survived, I would truly miss cuddling with you like this.".
Susan smiled brightly, "Cuddling is quite one of the best things to do together, and I think our twins might be huggers. I couldn't mind that. Oh, gosh, I forget about school! They would need an education.".
"Sue, take a deep breath.", Robert laughed. "These two aren't even born yet, much less the age of going to school! Let's not plan out every detail of their lives before they're even born. I think first we need to survive having them and dealing with the messes they're going to have. That's probably one of the biggest downsides to being a parent.".
Susan took a deep breath, and grimaced, "Do you really think Doc would reverse-engineer those space outfits so we could have clothes without asking thousands of people to make them, and of course, for the twins? Diapers are nasty on their own.".
"If anyone can do it, it's Doc. Besides, shouldn't be too much of a problem for him. With us, we now know it was the Quantonium fighting back against his efforts to remove it from us. I doubt those clothes would do the same.", Robert smiled to reassure her.
Susan chuckled softly, "Yeah, you're probably right about that.", before yawning lightly, "I don't know about you, but we had quite a night and day. We gotta catch up on some sleep.", before smirking at him, "But later, I wanna have some playtime. You certainly got me a bit wet when you went berserk on that chase at Gallaxhar.".
"I'm glad to hear that.", Robert kissed her on the lips as his hands moved along her body before reaching her ass and giving it a squeeze. "I really could let something out myself, and perhaps we could try something new since we now have two little ones we'd rather not bother.".
Susan nodded in agreement, "As much as I love having your manhood in me, that's not an option anymore as I don't want to scare the twins like that, what do you have in mind, Robbie?".
"Well, there goes that idea I was having then.", Robert rolled his eyes as he sighed. "I'm sure we'll figure out something, we always seem to do these days.", he gave her another kiss as he continued to massage her body.
Susan chuckled, "Perhaps you will find an idea when we're sleeping.", reaching out with a leg to nudge the blanket forward, and grabbed it further with a hand as she smiled softly while she gently rolled off Robert, and then shuffled backwards into Robert's chest, feeling Robert wrap his arm around her, his hand upon her baby bump.
"I love you so much, Susan." Robert kissed her on the cheek as he yawned and closed his eyes, happy to be in the warm embrace of his wife once more and no more real risk of danger to them, at least for the rest of the day.
Susan smiled gently to herself, "I love you too, Robert.", before closing her eyes, faintly feeling a flutter as she realized that one of the twins is just moving around for a better sleep position, and she quickly went to sleep, tuckered out from all the action and activity.
It was almost four in the afternoon by the time the giant couple finally felt themselves waking up; the sheer exhausting day really had taken it out of them, but the two were just happy for the peace and quiet of the time. Robert noticed the clock and gently nudged Susan awake.
Susan blinked sleepily, "Babe, five more minutes.".
"Sue, it's 4 in the afternoon, I think we need to get up.", Robert chuckled as he gently rubbed her belly. "Besides, you've got two starving mouths you need to feed as well. Wouldn't want to slow down their growth in any way.".
Susan mumbled, "4 in the afternoon?", before gasping at a sharp jab from one of the twins, and Susan groaned lightly, "Okay, okay, Esme, you win. Let's eat some dinner.", getting out under the blanket and stretching her arms, not noticing Robert's look as he watched her.
"God, do you know how much you drive me wild sometimes?", Robert chuckled as his eyes just remained locked on her naked body.
Susan looked back at him, and smiled wryly, "Priorities, my prince. I have to feed those two imps before they get grumpy. And then we can head back here for some playtime. I don't suppose if you have found an idea in your dreams, hmm?".
"Well, I did, but I'm not so sure you will like it since it might still bother the two of them.", Robert blushed as he stood up and wrapped his arms around her once again.
Susan kissed Robert on the chin, "Why don't you tell me over dinner? I think the twins are waking up fully now.".
"Okay then, anything you three want me to fix up?", Robert asked as they walked into their large kitchen. "Please tell me the cravings aren't a thing yet.", he half-heartly joked since if she did ask for something crazy, he might not be able to get it.
Susan hummed in thought, "A extra-large omelet with olives, and milk.".
Robert took a small sigh of relief. While an omelet with olives was a little different from a norm, at least it wasn't anything too outrageous.
"Are the olives for you or them?", Robert chuckled as he started to get some things ready. He took a mental note that if Doc could crack that tech behind the adjustable clothes, maybe he could also figure out a way to perhaps increase the size of food. Susan would certainly love the idea since not only would it make things again easier for them, but also long-term effects to solving world hunger perhaps too.
Susan shrugged, "I don't know, probably the twins.", rubbing her baby belly, "And of course, the milk is for their growth.", taking a seat on one of the chairs around the island.
"Yeah, that's probably them talking. You've never been much for olives, Susan.", Robert reminded her as he started cracking a whole carton full of eggs. "Might take a bit though, since this is a big order and I've got to cook myself something too.", he chuckled as he looked back at her and smiled.
Susan chuckled, "It's alright, darling. I am content right here, and the twins aren't grumpy yet. I think they're talking to each other.", before a thought goes through her mind, "You know, we haven't talked about their middle names. I mean, when I got in trouble sometimes, I got called by my full name by Mom, like being late to class or punching that kid in gym glass.".
"Oh, yeah, I remember that one.", Robert smirked. "You did warn him to get his hand off your chest when he tackled you.". He then shook his head, "Well, to be honest Sue, I'm at a bit of a loss in terms of their middle names. I mean, it was so easy for the first ones, but now? Heh, guess we hit that part almost every parent has trouble with. The naming debates.".
Susan nodded softly, "I hear you...You know, it feels like our friends, they're like aunts and uncles in a way. I mean, if it wasn't for them, they wouldn't have saved you or saved me from that damn body extraction room! We would have died without the chance to actually raise our children...Gods, our twins wouldn't even have their lives to start with...".
"It's really hard to believe how much we owe them. When we first took down that probe, that was more just you and me than any of them; except of course, B.O.B. finding that switch. But with Gallaxhar's ship? It was mostly the reversal.", Robert sighed. "I just shudder to think what would happen if none of them had made it. It was as you said, all four of us would die, two before even getting a chance to live.".
Susan nodded softly, "I think we gotta do the middle names after them, like an honor, but different. I was thinking something with a J or L, since Doc confessed that his old human name is Jacques, or since Link came with you when you guys saved me, for Esme.".
"And then maybe something with a B or W after B.O.B. or General Monger.", Robert nodded with a smile, "For Phillippe.".
Susan smiled, "You named Esme, so I will do the middle name for her, and I named Phillippe, so you do the middle name for him.".
"Well, then, if you want my opinion, I think Blaise might be a good fit for him. It is French, I would know, my mother knew a Blaise when she was a little girl in Bordeaux.", Robert said as he flipped the now forming omelet.
Susan hummed in thought, "Phillippe Blaise Murphy.", before gasping at a nudge at the side of the belly, and Susan laughed softly, "I think Phillippe approves of it.". She then thought for a second, "Well, I am conflicted between Jasmine or Liliana.".
"Liliana, I think that name works perfectly for her.", Robert told her as he soon finished the omelet and was now grabbing some olives. "Of course, that's just my vote and I'd rather leave that one to you. After all, I already picked Phillippe's here.".
Susan nodded lightly, and spoke out loud, "Esme Liliana Murphy.", and... nothing...Susan raised an eyebrow, "Esme Jasmine Murphy.", and she felt nothing again, "Do you want something from both of them, Esme?", before gasping loudly at a hard kick at her side...
"I think we got a smart girl here. Esme is picky.", Susan glanced at Robert. "Oh, I'm liking Phillippe more now.", Robert could tell from the look Susan gave him before he held up his arms.
"I'm just kidding! Papa loves you both very much, you two.", Robert apologized to their unborn children. "Hmm... well, if you ask me, I think perhaps Lilimine might flow off the tongue a bit better than Jasana, but that's just me... and I feel like Esme might already know what she wants if she could truly say it.".
Susan chuckled lightly, "Well, ready to hear them out, baby girl?", feeling a tiny nudge, before speaking out loud again, "Lilimine?". Nope. "Jasana?". Nope. "Jiana?". Nope. "Lilae?". Nope. "Jasmila?", a sharp nudge.
Susan smiled as she checked twice, "Esme Jasmila Murphy?", and she gasped at a big kick, "There you go! Oh, goodness, I hope she isn't this picky about clothes or other things!".
"Jasmila... hmm... seems to rhyme with a certain monster name.", Robert chuckled as he brought the food to the table for her before getting a glass of milk. "Perhaps she's already embracing her monster heritage.".
Susan smiled widely, "She must be. After all, her parents are monsters.", snatching up a fork and taking a first bite before humming in delight, "Wonderful as always, Robert, delicious!".
"Glad you like it.", Robert stood back up. "Now then, I think I need to get quite a lot of food in me... After all, I was pretty drained earlier." Robert walked over to the fridge as he began to look for things. "Hey, my queen? You think we were right or Gallaxhar? About the Quantonium and all?", he asked.
Susan looked at him, "About the Quantonium liking us?".
"Yeah.", Robert nodded as he sat down with his food. It was a bunch of leftovers from the night prior as he made way too much for the both of them. "I know what you said, and I said the same thing too when you got it back for me... but I don't know, there's that nagging feeling in the back of my mind that says he might have been right.", Robert sighed. "Sorry, I know that's a thought I should keep to myself and have it buried and all.".
Susan reached over to rub his wrist lovingly, "Hey, don't listen to that jerk. He was wrong about you being weak and all, but you weren't. I mean, you made it all the way to me, and kept my back free of those clones with that gun. You took the time to name our daughter and gave me all the love as you could, that's the signs of a compassionate, strong man, not weak or helpless at all.".
Robert laughed, "No, I certainly know that. I'm confident there, but it's nice to get a seal of approval from you there." He leaned over to kiss her. "But, still, you really think this Quantonium is alive and actually cares about us?".
Susan looked at him straight on, "I do. Think about it, Gallaxhar clearly abused the Quantonium, and from the tidbit you told me about him, he destroyed his planet, didn't give his own people a choice, and I have the feeling that why he did that is because of the Quantonium.".
"So, basically, just the desire of it drove him mad, meanwhile we get it, and more or less don't reject it so it embraces us? Is that what you're saying?" Robert asked as he stroked his chin once more before he felt weird touching it. He gave it another rub when he realized his skin wasn't as smooth around his face.
Susan nodded, "That about sums it up, Robert.", before looking in slight confusion, "What's wrong?".
Robert rubbed a bit more before he sighed and then chuckled, "Okay, now I'm completely sure it's alive because you're getting another wish, love." He grabbed her hand. "You can feel that too, can't you?", he placed her hand on his chin as she slowly started feeling the tiny tips of hair.
Susan gasped softly before smiling widely, "You're growing facial hair! I know I don't say this very often, but I told you so!".
"Yes, you certainly did this time.", Robert chuckled as he gave it another feel. "This might come in nice this time... not like those previous disasters.".
