A New Life For Tom Riddle

Summary

Harriet Jayme Potter had just turned 20 but for some reason, she wondered if Voldemort's a.k.a. Tom Marvalo Riddle's life had been manipulated just as her life had been. She had discovered the manipulation of her life after she had killed him 3 years ago.

So happens when Death and Fate appear on your doorstep asking to go back to Voldemort's past as a student and save him from ever becoming the Dark Lord or least make it better somehow?

Harriet was now 20 years-old; she had just celebrated her birthday with friends and was now back home. However, she wondered if Tom Marvalo Riddle a.k.a. Lord Voldemort had been manipulated in his life like she had and if so he had probably figure it out unlike her. Somehow, she wished that had been able to save him.

Suddenly, there was a knock on her door.

"Who is it?" Harriet asked.

"Mistress, I and Fate need a word with you of great importance!"

Harriet blinked then opened her door to see Death himself along with Fate.

"Well, come in you two." Harriet said.

"Thank you, Mistress." Death said.

Death and Fate sat down on the couch while Harriet sat down in a chair.

"So do I the pleasure of you and Fate?" Harriet asked.

"We want to ask if you're willing to go back in time to change someone's future for the better?" Fate said.

Harriet was confused.

"Mistress, you'll be going back to the year 1942 and you'll be 16 the same age as the person whose fate we wish you to change." Death said.

Harriet's eyes started to widen as she realized who it was that she was going to save.

"Your name won't be Harriet Jayme Potter but Selene Marie Peverell. We have spoken to the Founders of Hogwarts about this as well and they agree with us about this." Fate stated.

Harriet nodded understanding that the Founders of Hogwarts wanted her to save him as well.

"So, Mistress, are you ready to change Tom Marvalo Riddle's life in some way?" Death questioned.

"Yes. But Death did you have to sound perverted there at the end?" Harriet questioned.

"Sorry, but I couldn't help it; since there is a chance of that romantic imminent happening between you to." Death stated.

Harriet blushed but said, "I would have to test him of sorts first."

"How will you test him, Ms. Potter?" Fate asked curiously.

Harriet just smiled and said, "A test that he would absolutely be clueless about."

Death caught on quickly to what his mistress was indicating.

However, they continued to talk on everything and how it would be arranged for Harriet as Selene Marie Peverell, the Peverell Heiress. They even explained that Tom's birthday was on New Year's Eve which was December 31st. So they told Harriet that her birthday would be July 31, 1926 which would make her at least 5months older or 5months younger than Tom.

"So do I need a certain style of clothing for the time period that I'm traveling to?" Harriet questioned.

"Everything will already be set up for you when you arrive. The Black Family will be considered your guardian family because your father was friends with the Head of

the Black Family; as we discussed before hand." Fate said.

"Just checking." Harriet stated.

"Would you be willing to go back in time today?" Death asked.

Harriet nodded.

"Alright, then get dressed for you to make your appearance then we'll change some of your facial features like your eyes to silver like emerald green long with your hair it will still be black as night but when the moonlight hits it it will look like the moonlight has kissed your hair. We'll also tone down your skin just a little and give your lips red as a rose." Fate said.

Once everything was done; Harriet was completely done then looked in the mirror to see her new look. She couldn't believe what she saw at first but then again no one had ever considered her to be beautiful before.

"Alright, your ready to save Tom Marvalo Riddle; the best way that you can." Death said.

Harriet nodded with determination.

Fate and Death chanting the spell to send Harriet back in time; they also wished her luck because she would need it.

...Hogwarts 1942...

Tom Riddle and his friends were in their common room when Professor Slughorn entered and a young woman followed him.

"Who is that?" Orion asked.

"I don't know but she's beautiful." Abrax said.

"Tom?" Slughorn said.

"Yes, Professor Slughorn?" Tom answered walking towards the professor and the young woman.

"Tom, would you show Miss Peverell around the school?" Slughorn asked.

"Sure, Professor." Tom said.

"Then I'll leave Miss Peverell in your capable hands, Tom." Slughorn stated and walked off.

Tom looked at Miss Peverell for a moment and noticed that she was beautiful; then he noticed that she had watched Professor Slughorn walk off. He noted that she had a bewildered look on her face.

"What's with the look, Ms. Peverell?" Tom questioned.

Peverell looked at Tom and asked, "The professor didn't mean what he said to come like that, did he?"

Tom blinked.

Orion and the others nearly choked as understood what Peverell was asking.

"I don't think he did or he was unaware that it came out that way." Tom said finally.

Suddenly, Druella and the others Slytherin girls entered the dorm common room.

"What's your name?" Druella asked looking at Peverell.

"My name is Selene Marie Peverell."

Everyone was surprised to hear the name Peverell. They had heard that the Peverells had a connection to Death himself since the tale of the Deathly Hallows; but to know that the Peverell Heiress was in Slytherin with them was a shock.

"Well, Selene Peverell it seems you know how to shock people." Tom stated.

Selene turned and faced Tom with a swish of her and a glint in her eye then said with a smile, "It seems Mr. Tom Riddle, you are about to get tested be me."

Everyone in the common room was shocked that Peverell said something like that to Tom.

"Oh?And what is that, Miss Peverell?" Tom questioned.

Selene was looking at Tom and said, "You'll choose your path no doubt, Tom. But I want to know if would be able to win my heart as yours. Are you up for the challenge, Tom? I won't make it easy for you."

Everyone looked at Tom. If Tom was surprised by the challenge, he certainly didn't show it.

Tom smirked and said, "I accept your challenge, Selene."

Selene smized with her eyes and said, "Your challenge begins before lunch, Lord Riddle."

Everyone blinked at Selene calling Tom 'Lord Riddle' so suddenly.

"This is going to be an interesting year." Abrax whispered to Orion.

Orion nodded.

"Hmm...okay. However, if I when you challenge, Lady Peverell; then call me, Lord Slytherin." Tom stated.

"As you wish, Tom but only when we are in common room. After all you are his one true heir of the Bloodline." Selene stated.

Tom blinked and asked, "How could you know this? And why only in the common room "

"You're not the only one with a bloodline of one of the Founders of Hogwarts. However, I can't tell you of which of the other three founders that my bloodline comes from. As for why only in the common room; there's someone who would want to harm us." Selene stated.

So after the conversation; they all left the common room and headed for their respective classes.

As Tom escorted Selene to each one of her classes considering that her classes were the same as his; he couldn't help but wonder what she had meant by the statements that she had directed at him solely. However, he started his task at courting Selene as they were walking to their classes and from what Selene could tell was that he was trying.

The professors were wondering what were going on between Tom and Selene because they had never seen Tom flirt with a girl since it was the girls that were usually flirting with Tom.

Selene and Tom were now in Professor Dumbledore's Transfiguring Class. He had witnessed Tom flirting with Miss Peverell and he didn't like it.

Selene looked at Dumbledore with narrowed eyes and asked, "Is something the matter, Professor Dumbledore?"

Dumbledore seemed surprised at her narrowed eyes on him and said, "Surely, you would want to work with someone else besides Mister Riddle?"

"Mister Riddle is a fine young man to work with and besides, he was asked to be my guide at Hogwarts. Mister Riddle and I are minding our school for education is important to both of us, Professor Dumbledore. Also, I consider Mister Riddle a friend." Selene said.

"But Miss Peverell..."

"Don't say a word for I have no time to deal with a Professor who is prejudice against students that are sorted into Slytherin or any house at Hogwarts for that matter." Selene stated.

Everyone in went quiet.

Tom was in shock but didn't show it.

Dumbledore didn't anything else about Tom and Selene sitting together from then on.

After that day, rumors floating around Hogwarts about Selene Peverell not liking Dumbledore.

Tom watched as Selene wad taunted by the others for speaking her mind about Albus Dumbledore and he wanted to defend her; but it was amazing seeing her so strong regardless of what everyone was saying.

...Time Skip: Yule Tide/Christmas Holiday...

Selene knew of the orphanage that Tom stayed at and wanted to surprise him on Christmas Eve; since he had past her little test.

"Selene, where are you going?" Orion asked noticing that she was wearing her coat.

"I'm going to find Tom that he's won my little challenge and it's still his choice for winning." Selene answered.

Orion blinked and asked, "You were serious about the challenge?!"

Selene nodded.

"I'll let my dad know that you went to get Tom. Tom can travel with us to the Malfoy Manor for Yule/Christmas celebrations." Orion said, "Good luck, Selene."

Selene smiled and left out the door.

...At the orphanage...

Tom along with some of the older kids were decorating the outside of the building. He wondered what was Selene was doing because he remembered that he had won her little challenge and he had won; so she calls him Lord Slytherin but only in the dorms.

"Who's that young lady walking up?" A little kid asked.

Tom turned to the direction that the little kid was looking. To his surprise, it was Selene of all people. He wondered how she had found him but he recalled how she can surprise him; he saw that she was smiling like she was happy.

He watched as Mrs. Cole approached Selene and wondered what she was going to do.

"May I help you, miss?" Mrs. Cole asked as some of the smaller kids joined her.

"Yes, I'm here to get Tom for a Christmas celebration with our friends." Selene said.

"Of course. Tom!" Mrs. Cole said.

Tom immediately walked over followed by Billy and the other older kids.

"Yes, Mrs. Cole?" Tom questioned.

"This young lady is here to get you and more importantly do you know her?" Mrs. Cole asked.

"I know her, Mrs. Cole because she attends school with me and she's my girlfriend." Tom stated with a smile.

Mrs. Cole and the others were stunned to know that this young woman was like Tom and was dating Tom.

Apparently, Selene saw their reaction to what Tom had just said. She noticed that they were scared but said, "The school is nothing to fear it helps us. Tom's gift is that he can read the emotions of people by looking in their eyes. It's nothing bad it just surprises people. As my gift is of an artistic view."

"Oh?" Mrs. Cole said.

Tom decided to kiss Selene on the cheek out of respect of the younger kids. Which, Selene admired him for doing that which meant that he was taking his victory seriously of their little challenge.

Billy glared at Tom for getting a hot sexy girlfriend before him.

"When will Tom return?" Mrs. Cole asked.

"I guess that would depend if a friend asks him to stay until the New Year " Selene said.

Mrs. Cole blinked.

"Mrs. Cole, I'll be staying with a friend after the celebration considering that the term will be starting right after the holidays over with." Tom said.

"That would make sense, I guess. Well, see you next year then, Tom." Mrs. Cole said.

Tom nodded as he walked arm in arm with Selene away from everyone at the orphanage. To be honest, he had wanted to get away and he was actually happy that Selene had appeared.

Tom and Selene talked with each other as they were walking until they reached Grimm Place as Orion liked to call his family home sometimes.

...Inside...

Orion opened the door immediately when he had seen Tom and Selene were walking up the steps outside.

"Come in, you two." Orion said walking back inside.

"Okay, Orion." Selene said.

Tom was beside her and chuckled.

Selene looked at Tom and said, "The future isn't set in stone, Tom. However, I love seeing this side of you because I knew you're an amazing person."

Tom sighed and said, "Selene, is it possible to dream of two different futures?"

"Um...as far as I know; it could be possible. Why?" Selene questioned.

"Well, since you've come into my life; I've dreamed of nothing but a brighter future as a muggles saying goes." Tom said.

"And before I came into your life?" Selene questioned.

"My dreams were dark and dreary." Tom stated.

Selene was still looking at Tom and seeing that he was changing right before her eyes from the man that he would've become; to the man that he now is becoming.
