"What do you think that was all about?", Robert asked the others. From the sounds of things, it seemed like Bea was very restless. Understandable since she had been separated from her friends for quite a while, but it was never this bad before.
Link sighed lightly, "I don't know, but Monger will call us back as soon as he's close up to Bea.", and Susan nodded, "I hope nothing's wrong with her.".
Five minutes pass, and Monger's picture appeared on Link's videophone, "Okay, I am having my jetpack on, and Bea looks really anxious. Bea, Bea, Link's here!".
Link called out, "Hey, hey, baby girl, what's wrong?", and Bea, in the angle of the videophone, bellowed out with worried eyes, and Link blinked in surprise, "Really? Are you sure of that?", and Bea bellowed out some more.
Link translated for her, "Bea wants to come down. I think you should use the teleporter, Monger. She's feeling like something's calling her, and she has to come down really badly.".
Monger widened his eyes, and glanced at Bea, "Well, I would hate to keep her apart from y'all. Alright, I will enlarge the teleporter here to giant size once I get it out here for her.".
"Hope she doesn't mind if things are a bit cramped down here." Robert spoke out. "There's not as much room to fly above as it is on the surface."
"Might remind her a bit more of the facility.", Susan added. Doc nodded, "All good points, my friends. All we could do is make her feel welcome.", setting the underground teleporter back on, and clicking his videophone on, "My side of the teleporter's ready, General.".
Monger responded back, "Just about to put down the teleporter on my end.", setting it to enlarge to giant size, and clicking it on, "Okay, Bea!". Bea bellowed out as she gently stepped into the teleporter, her stick-like feet miraculously fitting within the teleporter boundary.
Link translated again, "She's ready to go, General.", and Monger grinned lightly, "Great! Okay, I will be sending her in three, two, one.".
It was almost instantaneous before everyone was thrown completely back, especially in the case of that one tree as Bea was leaning back on it when she went through the teleporter.
"Woah, Bea, easy, easy!", Link tried to warn her as she was almost freaking out for a moment due to her being completely off balance since she wasn't as how she was positioned when she went through the teleporter at first.
Bea bellowed out as she looked down, and Link called out, "Yes, yes, I'm okay, baby girl! We are all fine!", gesturing to the others including Robert and Susan.
Robert called out, "See, Bea, we're both good!", and Bea bellowed out as Link nodded, "Okay, Bea, just be careful. It's the highest landmark in this place, you can't miss it!". Bea carefully hovered off the teleporter and headed off as Link told the others, "Apparently, Eternal Mountain's calling to her.".
"Strange...", Doc rubbed his chin. "It shouldn't be that case with her, since she's the product of nuclear radiation and not Quantionium exposure.".
"Do you think they're similar?", Robert asked. "Is atomic energy and all related to Quantonium?".
"Maybe, I've never really tested it as much since I've never made that connection a test.", Doc replied with a sigh.
Susan shrugged lightly, "All the same, Bea can manage to defend herself just fine. She'll find us eventually in the village. Sunset will be in a couple of hours, and I can't miss the game!".
Robert rolled his eyes hearing that. "Just waiting to out prove everyone again, are we?", he teased her as he gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"So, is everything alright on your end, Doctor?", Monger asked as the feed was still on.
Doc nodded, "All is perfect, General. Bea didn't have any problem, and she's now exploring around. We will be out of range, but we'll update you every couple of days as Robert and Susan didn't have any problems down here as it's like a tropical jungle, but only fruit and clear drinking water.", leaving out the fact that dinosaurs exist down here and all.
Link nodded, looking over Doc's shoulder, "Yeah, Robert and Susan and the twins lived down here for over three weeks, and we figure to stay for a week to see how they managed to survive down here and all.".
"Okay then, but if there are any issues, let me know.", Monger said before the feed cut out. "Well, then, shall we show you all the village?", Robert asked the guys.
B.O.B. cheered, "Yes! I wanna meet our new friends and see the game!". Everyone chuckled at B.O.B.'s cheer as they made their way back towards the village, while Bea was allowed to go onto her way to the mountain.
Bea can feel the Quantonium resonating to her, and she's realizing that she could be a better version with the Quantonium's help. She landed perfectly at the base of the mountain, leaning her back into the side of the mountain, and she instantly felt something changing inside her, unknowing that her nuclear radiation energy is being pulled out of her while Quantonium is flowing into her.
The nuclear radiation energy is being transmuted into more Quantonium as the feel of it is so similar, though, the molecules aka the DNA of the energy is different in a way, thanks to being from different places, Earth and outer space.
The extra Quantonium knew no other way but to go up, flowing into the earth through the extra-tough, extra-invulnerable vines from the core to the earth, and remembering Tristan's dream, the extra Quantonium made it to the sea shelf under the Pacific Ocean, growing undersea land into a chain of three islands that is far north of Hawaii, and west of San Francisco.
Meanwhile, at the same time, the group would soon arrive at the village, mostly thanks to Susan and Robert carrying the guys to get them there faster. "Well, this here is the Eternal Village.", Robert introduced the moment they could catch sight of it.
Doc blinked in amazement at the incredible craftmanship of the huts and longhouses, "Oh, wow, it's like the village has come out of a Hallmark card, but even better.".
Link whistled lowly, "You ain't kidding about the population.", seeing the people walking, talking, sitting, hugging, and even a few glimpses of free loving as well.
"No, we weren't.", Robert chuckled as they walked up. "Come, we'll take you to the chieftain hut.", Robert explained as they got closer.
Doc smiled lightly, "I can understand the conversations now. Wow, the people look so remarkably happy and ageless in their own right.".
"Already understand them? Hmm... guess we didn't need to be around the Quantonium that long then.", Susan said.
"Well, remember how it worked for us, love. We just got flattened by a rock and it only took a few moments and all.", Robert pointed out.
Susan nodded, "Fair point.", carrying the basket of the hot air balloon with the shrunk teleporter. They soon made it to the chieftain hut, walking in to see Phillippe being painted in black by Silvergrace.
"Uh, we're not interrupting anything are we?", Robert chuckled as they walked in on the two of them.
Phillippe shook his head, "Nope. This is the team paint as I call it through Silvergrace calls it game warpaint. Apparently, my team for tonight, the Direwolves, we wear black on our skin because the direwolves are mainly black-furred.".
"Good idea.", Robert nodded. "Yes, it would be a bit hard to tell who's on whose team without some sort of indicators.", Susan added.
"Such as the fact that it obviously isn't shirts vs skins.", Link pointed out. Silvergrace fussed lightly, "Don't move, Phillippe! I am not done yet!", painting curves over his sides to his back.
Phillippe spoke, "Yes, my love. Anyway, the other teams in order, orange for the Sabertooths, cream for the Mammoths, and red for the Cave Bears.".
"Cave bears? Huh, might be something interesting to fight.", Link teased as Susan gave him a gentle flick with her finger.
"No wrestling the wildlife down here, Link, okay?", Susan ordered sharply. "Yeah, the stuff here are way more dangerous than on the surface.", Robert chuckled.
Silvergrace called out, "But they are mostly wary of us, and if we leave them alone, they leave us alone. Same thing for the direwolves and sabertooths, but really, they're more afraid of us according to our size either way as we hunt mammoths occasionally.".
Susan nodded, "All the same, you guys are human size, so just stay close to the village, alright?", and Doc nodded, "Crystal clear, my dear.".
"You guys have stopped being fun the moment you had kids.", Link huffed as he crossed his arms. "Either that or you've gotten more reckless and worried us.", Robert chuckled.
Robert chuckled lightly as Phillippe snickered softly as Silvergrace stepped back, gazing at Phillippe with a painter's eye, and nodded, "Good, you're ready.".
Phillippe sighed as he took a deep breath. "Thanks, Gracey.", he kissed her on the cheek as he checked over himself. "She do a good job?", he asked his parents.
"Looks great to me.", Robert nodded while Susan did the same. Link looked thoughtful, "So, what's the rules for playing?".
Silvergrace smiled softly, "The teams are allowed to use heads, shoulders, hips, and feet. Hitting the face, chest, back, and privates are forbidden, and requires a five-minute timeout for the player who's hit. Injuries call for a replacement player.".
"Sounds a lot like football.", Doc said. "Wait, the tackling one or the boring one?", B.O.B. asked. "You mean soccer?", Link raised his eyebrow.
Phillippe chuckled lightly, "It's a mix of basketball and soccer.", and Robert nodded, "Makes sense. And the point system?".
Silvergrace replied, "Three points for the upper body moves, and five points for the lower body moves. And occasionally, seven points for a full courtyard score. The only time the game stops is if there's a sudden birth.".
"Is anyone at risk of that at the moment?", Doc looked around. "You never know with this tribe sometimes.", Robert chuckled.
Silvergrace chuckled lightly, "Well, the report so far for today including the brood of dinosaur babies which is 6 births, and two normal births in the village while you were gone. But there's about five overdue pregnancies so far. Noise helps out in making them excited to come.".
"We've really caught a very hectic time, it seems then.", Doc said. "It's been like this for a few weeks for us.", Robert smiled.
"Okay, then, well, let's not keep the future chief from his game and all.", Susan shooed everyone away as they back up from crowding around him.
Phillippe smiled widely, "Let's do this. Silvergrace, you're taking them to the high podium, yeah?", and Silvergrace nodded, "Yep, just like the last two times.", kissing Phillippe on the lips warmly, "Do your best, my love.".
"He's certainly proving to be quite the athlete... really surprising since he wasn't much the case growing up for him.", Robert said.
"To be fair, Robert, he and Esme weren't really allowed to do sports since they had an unfair advantage and all with their heights and Quantonium.", Doc reminded him.
"Yeah, remember the one time he tried football? He was so freaked out when he got the ball, he quickly grew to 20 feet just to avoid being tackled.", Link laughed.
Susan grimaced softly, "He was so disappointed when the coach told him that he couldn't play, but gratefully, some ice cream and a movie night was enough to bring him back to his old self.".
Silvergrace nodded, "Size-changing because of emotion, I felt so bad for him when he said that story to me one night. Now, come on, let's get you to the podium where my parents are.".
"Lead the way, Silvergrace.", Robert said as they all followed her along to where they had to go.
The ballgame court is about the size of two standard basketball stadiums, and the four vertical hoops are on each wall of the court, and of course, the hoops are painted for each team: black, orange, red, and cream.
Being Quantonium-infused, the team players are full of high endurance and strength hence no halftime. Of course, there are bathroom and water breaks when the ball gets out of bounds, which is the stands and podium.
"This ought to be fun. Hey, wait a second, has anyone seen Esme and Tristan?", B.O.B. looked around. Robert and Susan looked at each other as well. "Think they just decided to skip things and hang out with each other?", Robert wondered.
Silvergrace looked out, and blinked with a smile, "Oh, looks like they're talking with my old friends, Rocklight and Flashbird over there.", pointing with a finger, revealing that in part of the stands, Esme and Tristan is holding two of the dinosaur children who is now fully human while Rocklight and Flashbird & their mates is holding the rest of the brood.
Susan smiled lightly, "Well, looks like they've found new friends. They may not want children for the time being, but babysitting is good practice either way.".
"Seems like they already are getting a good handle on it already.", Robert chuckled as he turned back to the field. "You guys want to pay close attention, Phillippe's already proving how good he is at this.".
Phillippe flipped over another player, and headbutted the white rubber ball a long way, and his teammate kicked the ball upwards through the black hoop. The fans of the Direwolves including the whole family of Phillippe cheered loudly in support and excitement.
"Don't really know fully what's going on, but even I can tell he's doing great, for sure.", Link nodded as they kept watching and cheering. Once more Phillippe was proving how good he was at the game, though this would be the first time the trio was seeing him.
On the other side across from the podium laid a manmade boulder staircase. There, in marked lines, on each stair, there's symbols for scoring. A bright blue brick is to symbol for 3 points from the upper body moves, a bright purple brick is to symbol for 5 points from the lower body moves, and a gold brick is to symbol for the rare full courtyard score of 7 points like from kicking on one side of the court to scoring on the other side of the court, wide or long.
And the marked lines are to symbol the teams on the staircase; black, orange, cream, and red. And at the end of each 30 minutes, the total of points is counted. The score was never even close at the end, Phillippe's team had won by quite a huge margin of victory.
Everybody cheered happily for them as the first quarter ended, and it was obvious that the Mammoths lost for they had the lowest score, so they're out, leaving three teams to play once more in the second quarter.
Stormfire chuckled warmly, "Young Lionheart is doing quite well. The first time, his team lost in the second quarter, and the second time, his team lost in the third quarter. What did you say once, Susan? The third time is a lucky charm?".
"I did say that.", Susan smiled. "It's probably because he's gotten how the game works by now. Plus, he might have some better teammates this time.".
Doc nodded, "Certainly makes sense.", keeping an eye on the game, proud of his nephew for being a marvelous team player.
"Especially with the lead they've already established so early. It would take a total collapse of this quarter for that to happen.", Robert observed.
The second quarter was slightly more intense, and Phillippe even managed to score by an upper body move when the ball was traded off to him from another teammate at the last minute of the second quarter, winning once again, and the Cave Bears lost, leaving the Direwolves vs the Sabertooths to play in the third quarter.
The noise was much louder, especially coming from Phillippe's parents and Esme. And, of course, the noise was enough to activate labor for three overdue pregnancies.
Thunderwolf held up a timeout signal, and Stormfire glanced at the stand above the Sabertooth hoop, and grinned lightly, "It's the triplet women; Hawkflower, Featherpetal, and Talonleaf. Believe it or not, but that's a grandmother, mother, and granddaughter giving birth.".
Susan was surprised to hear that as the younger elders like grandparents are in their 70s, but they look like they're in their 50s.
"Obviously has something to do with the Quantonium.", Doc suggested. "That's the only reason how all three could be giving birth at the same time.".
"Well, at least it'll give Phillippe a chance to catch his breath.", Robert said. Phillippe sat down on a bench, drinking some water out of a bronze cup, smiling at the conversations going around the team, and waved lightly to his family when Silvergrace caught his attention.
The family of the triplet women was quick to assist, with a member leaving the Sabertooths, obviously one of the women's mates climbing up a rolled-out rope ladder out of the court pit while they labored to give birth upon blankets on the spaces between seats of the stands.
Robert whistled in amazement, "A multiple-generational group of women in the same family, that's almost like us.".
"We're not all having them at the same time though.", Susan chuckled. "Wait till our granddaughter is of age.".
"Are you sure you want even more there?", Robert asked her. "Wait. Actually, I don't know, let's wait about... another two decades.", Susan hummed thoughtfully.
Link blinked in surprise, "You want more kids after this second set of twins?".
"Well, I don't know, maybe, like I said, let's wait another two decades after we raise up these two twins before we think about it again.", Susan said.
Robert nodded, "Fair enough.". Doc mused thoughtfully, "Either way, your legacy will last beyond a century, in your kids, grandkids, etc. After all, perhaps, the size-changing gene and the giant gene might dominate over the normal human gene.".
A few minutes later, the sound of babies wailing came, and sure enough, the babies arrived about the same time, between seconds under a minute. Thunderwolf, seeing a signal by the head of the family, smiled in delight, "All three babies are males.".
Everyone smiled and congratulated the family who had quite the eventful birth and all. After all, all members of the same family giving birth at the same time was beyond any real odds of rarity. But like Doc had mentioned, it might have had something to do with the Quantonium exposure and it all talking to each other in some way.
Stormfire smiled lightly, "We will hear about their new names in the gossip mill soon enough, but now, let's resume the game, shall we, Thunderwolf?".
Thunderwolf nodded, "Indeed.", giving out a signal to start the game once more, beginning the third quarter with a replenished and reenergized Phillippe ready to play.
"Come on, Phillippe, you've got this!", Robert called out for his son, sure that he was going to lead his team to win this match.
The third quarter was increasingly fierce as it's two teams now, and there had been mistakes, understandably as it's a lot of pressure. Phillippe luckily managed to score some points while avoiding the other team's defensive strategy, through unfortunately, two of his teammates got hit in the wrong places, earning 5-minute timeouts themselves, while their backups came in to play.
Susan grimaced when one of those teammates got hit in the teeth, and Robert winced with a hiss when the other teammate got hit very closely to his privates. Luckily, they both know that the teammates are pretty much invulnerable, thanks to being infused with Quantonium, but still, when with enough power, the ball can cause quite bruising hits and occasionally, the rare injury like a broken finger or a sprained knee.
"Kinda crazy the damage they can do to each other, isn't it?", Robert observed. "Well, compare it to the two of you, you both really haven't had much to truly compete against you. Most things tend to not affect you.", Doc said.
"I mean, you've all bathed in lava and all. Makes me wonder what things that haven't been tried.", Link said. "Large syringes still somehow worked.", Robert shook his head.
Susan shrugged, "They weren't harming us as it was looking to be, just sedating us. I think the Quantonium knew it somehow.", before gasping in surprise when she saw Phillippe doing a daring move over a rival teammate, and then used his hip to hit the ball back to his team's hoop, and then it scored perfectly just as the horn whistle sounded out for the end of the third quarter.
Phillippe's family cheered the loudest out of everybody in the stands who were rooting for the Direwolves as they saw the points counted up, and sure enough, the Direwolves won over the Sabertooths.
Now it's time for the finale, the Direwolves separating into males vs females, and they took a brief break for the females to be painted green among the black paint, so there won't be any confusion.
And not much surprising as they're used to it, during the paint break, the last two overdue pregnancies of the report is finally happening.
Thunderwolf gave a signal while Stormfire chuckled as she looked to the stands, "It's Driftclaw's great niece, Shadowbush, and her male best friend, Marshberry. They're finally giving birth. It's about time since Driftclaw was getting quite a bit frustrated.".
"Well, it's good to hear that they finally got to have their child come into the world.", Susan smiled.
"That was kind of the case for your mother, wasn't it, Sue? You've mentioned before that you were quite a late birth and took quite a while to be born.", Robert gently teased her as he rubbed his fingers into her back, massaging her.
Susan nodded lightly, "Indeed.", before hearing a bellowing giggle, and they froze, looking out, seeing a young woman of 17 years, but to their shock, this woman is having butterfly wings and antennae. She got silvery-fawn hair down to her thighs, wide bright brown eyes, and pale cream skin.
She called out with a blinding smile, "Daddy Link!", and Link gasped in shock, "Bea?". Everyone that knew her was completely shocked. Probably the most shocked the group had ever been in years.
"No way...", Robert muttered. "The Quantonium... there's no doubt about what happened to her.", Doc said.
Sure enough, it was Bea, shrunk down to Robert and the other giants of the family's size, and she remarkably looks beautiful as she's nude, unknowing that she is attracting every single man of 16 years old, thanks to subtle hormones within her.
She shrunk slightly more to allow her wings to fit inside the podium as she landed with a smile, "Hi! It's so good to finally talk to you, my family!".
"Bea... what happened to you?", Link said. "Obviously she changed thanks to the Quantonium.", B.O.B. said.
"Don't be smart with me, B.O.B., not right now.", Link snapped with a glare. "Bea... you look... very nice.", Robert tried to say but was not wanting to sound wrong when saying all that.
Bea smiled brightly, "Thanks, Uncle Robert! And yeah, the Quantonium helped out! I can shift size and shift shape from my full butterfly form to human, though I like this better.", giggling softly.
Bea looked to Doc with a grin, "And oh, Doc, if there's still nuclear stuff on the surface, Eternal Mountain is happy to transmute the stuff into more Quantonium. Apparently, thanks to me, there's a new range of islands on the surface in the Pacific Ocean.".
Everyone looked at each other once more. "I swear, that thing is unchecked at times.", Link admitted. "What, Link? You're complaining about Bea's change?", Robert smirked at him.
"I didn't say that and all... just...", Link said, trailing off. Bea looked anxious, "Are you mad, Daddy Link? When I heard the Quantonium calling to me, I knew I had to make my wish come true, and I wanted to hug, talk, and...finally find love...".
Link was blushing at the thought of all of it, since, in a way, he was kinda like a father to her. "Sorry, Bea... it's just... it's a lot to take in at the moment, you know?", Link replied with a helpless shrug.
"What Link is trying to say, Bea, is that he needs a couple of hours to just wrap his head around your new metamorphous.", Susan said. "Excellent choice of words there.", Doc chuckled.
Bea nodded softly, "Oh...I guess this is kinda a shock in perspective...Anyway, on the other hand, what's happening? I can see Cousin Phillippe down there. Gosh, it feels good to finally say cousin and all other stuff!", a smile adorning her face.
"We'll be glad to explain things to you, Bea. After all, we still have a lot to catch you up on.", Susan assured her as she quickly took a seat in between Robert and Susan... only for her wings to hit Robert in the face.
"Easy, watch where you're flapping those, girl.", Robert sighed as he gave her a warm smile. Bea sheepishly giggled softly, "Thanks, Aunt Susan. Sorry, Uncle Robert.", shrinking her wings smaller.
Thunderwolf smiled politely, "Well met, young Bea.", and Stormfire nodded, "Your wings are quite marvelous.".
Bea smiled brightly, "Thank you, new friends.", just as a wailing cry pierced the air, and 30 seconds later, another cry came. Thunderwolf glanced over and saw the signal from Driftclaw. "Oh, Driftclaw has a great-great-nephew, and the other baby is a girl!".
Stormfire smiled happily, "Oh, that's wonderful news! Let's begin the finale, my love. Bea will be quite curious to see how the game works.", and Thunderwolf nodded with a warm chuckle, giving out a signal to resume the game, spurring Phillippe and his team of men into play against the females.
The group watched the final quarter being played as Bea was quickly being filled in with a lot of things. Thankfully, she seemed to be a quick learner and she already retained everything she ever had learned and experienced on the surface, so it wasn't a rush to try and bring her up to speed.
Phillippe and his team of men played quite well, scoring quite high over the team of females, and in the last minute of the finale, Phillippe, wanting to surprise his and Esme's new cousin in Bea, did a slide and jump, kicking the ball with his foot, and it scored through his team hoop, making the final score of his team, winning by a large margin.
The crowds went wild, and Bea cheered happily with her family, proud for Phillippe. Thunderwolf announced loudly, "The Male Direwolves win! They have a full day off from hunting and other duties! Women of the Direwolves, you have a half day off from hunting, but still on for other duties!".
The family quickly swarmed around Phillippe where both he, his twin and her lover were quickly surprised by the new appearance of Bea.
"You've certainly turned out very well looking.", Tristan said before getting an elbow from Esme. "Well, how else was I supposed to say that?".
Bea giggled softly, "It's alright, my dear cousin. Even if Link already interpreted for me when Tristan met me years ago, I can finally say this. You have found each other perfectly; you make out to be a great couple.", before smiling, "Thank you for the compliment, Tristan. I know I am attractive. Somewhere in the crowds up there, there's three young men vying for my attention as I can smell their testosterone.".
Silvergrace blinked in surprise, "Three? Wow, this qualifies for a battle between those men to claim the honor to ask you to be his mate.", and Bea glanced at her in slight wonder, "Truly?", seeing Silvergrace's nod in return.
"Hey, anyone that wants Bea is also going to have to go through me first!", Link was very quick to defend her. "Guessing Link's already coming around now.", Robert laughed.
Bea looked at Link, "Daddy Link, I can take care of myself just fine. And besides, I have been single over 40 years. I don't want to wait any longer for love!".
"I know... I know...", Link reluctantly admitted. "But could you just take it a little slow, you know?", he asked her.
Bea blinked in thought, "I suppose that'd be fair...", and Silvergrace patted her shoulder, "Well, before the battle, you could feel out the men, for the next three days, in order, you could spend a day with one of the men, and afterwards, you judge them in the battle. The one you choose will be your mate then.".
